i met cait may at gencon today and just so everyone knows, they are quite possibly the nicest and coolest person i’ve ever met

God it makes me so weirdly happy that Kipperlily was honestly a nothing rival to Riz. At every turn her Masterminding was fucked up by his friends.

Kristen jumped in and decided to run for president instead of Riz because Ally couldn’t stand Kipperlily’s type A personality.

Fig was in German Shepard mode constantly and prevented Kipperlily from ever coming after Kristen

Fabian’s lofi study sessions open to the entire school kept the Bad Kids names in everyone’s mouths and constantly bolstered Kristen’s campaign. Meanwhile Kipperlily’s intensity weirded other kids out.

A literal horde of dragons attacked Fabian’s Birthday Bash/Voting Booth Celebration, and yet they fully killed Oisin’s grandma and several of his relatives while smoking with the very Rogue teacher Kipperlily had to threaten to get a pass in Rogue studies.

And then when it finally came to blows in a fight. Kipperlily slashes at Riz for 7 points of damage, he turns around and slices her with his epic ninja Sword of Shadows for triple that damage. He baffles her by jumping into lava to make a play and finally he uses his Blindsight plus his combat experience to ready an action for the moment Kipperlily tried for another attack at him to cast Hold Person right over the lava she would emerge over from stealthing.

Kipperlily wishes, WISHES she was half the adventurer Riz Gukgak is, and she accepted rage and frustration to try and close the gap. But just like that 5 foot gap she attempted to jump she fell short and straight into Riz’s sight.

“Very good on paper, but no practical application.”

Kipperlily was nothing to Riz but another minion in a fight against his real antagonists, she’s another Dane or Penelope that collaborated with a corrupt adult to further her own story but she had no substance to her other than her rage and her hatred of the Bad Kids. She thought she could be Riz’s BBEG but how could she ever shine in the spotlight like a real villain when all she ever did was hide and kill rats.

Better Than Mine?

Two veteran teachers walked down the halls of Abbott Elementary, headed for their respective cars to take them to their respective homes. The redhead looks at her work wife incredulously.

“You do not know the owner of Caruso’s!” Barbara Howard only nodded in response. “I’ve been dying to get in there! Kristen Marie says their manicotti’s better ‘an mine! Ain’t no way!”

As they exited the building, they made official plans for lunch the next day. Barb would be taking Melissa to the restaurant that she enjoyed often with her husband, and Melissa would be on a rumor breaking mission.

The day started like any other day for you. Your alarm went off at 7 o’clock, and your cat was on your chest by 7:01. You took a moment to snuggle with him before you hoisted yourself out of bed and into the shower. Remembering that most of your to-do list was comprised of inventory and other various paperwork, you opted for a casual look with a pair of slightly tattered jeans, a red tank top covered by a black flannel, and a pair of sneakers. At 7:43, you were in your car headed to open your restaurant.

The day went by without any major issues. Paperwork was surprisingly easy, and inventory came back almost perfect. You were doing a walkthrough when you received a text from an old teacher asking if there would be a table around lunchtime and if she could bring a friend. You immediately responded in the positive. Ms. Howard had been one of those above and beyond teachers who had helped you realize your passion for cooking, and never let you forget it.

You would do anything for that woman.

When she arrived later that day, the two ladies were sat in a booth almost immediately, much to the surprise of the Italian woman. “You must be somethin’ special ‘round here.” You heard Ms. Howard’s friend say as you approached the table.

“She is,” you said, and the redhead turned to lock eyes with you. It was like staring into pools of emeralds. Her eyes shined back at you and you thought you were going to melt. Regaining your composure, you finished your sentence “-as is anyone who accompanies her.” You very obviously look the woman up and down, your eyes locking into hers once again. She smirked, but before she could say anything, Barbara Howard spoke up.

“Melissa, this is y/n. She was one from my first year teaching. Y/n, this is Miss Melissa Schemmenti. She teaches with me at Abbott.” You never took your eyes off of the enchanting woman in front of you.

“It’s nice to meet you, Miss Schemmenti.”

“Call me Melissa. You’re not one of my students.” Melissa chuckled.

“No, ma’am. I wouldn’t make it five minutes in a class without having a big ol’ crush on ya!” You laughed when the woman blushed at your comment. You took the orders of Barbara’s usual, and Melissa’s manicotti, and headed back to the kitchen to prepare their food. When it came to Ms. Howard, you always took pride in being the one to make her food. She was a huge reason you were here, after all.

When you returned with the food, Barbara had a mischievous gleam in her eye that went unnoticed by you and her companion. As you set the food in front of the ladies, she pipes up.

“Melissa was just telling me that her sister comes here now and then, and that your manicotti outshines anything she’s ever tasted, including Melissa’s,” the smirk she wore told Melissa everything she needed to know.

You felt your neck grow warm, and you were sure your face was starting to flush. Flirting with a woman who looked like she could be a goddess hiding amongst us mere mortals? No biggie. Accepting compliments about your cooking? You literally malfunction.

“My sister wouldn’t know good manicotti if it hit ‘er in the face. Maybe I’ll just have to invite you over and teach you how to cook. You’ll have people making reservations for years in advance,” Melissa chuckles as she goes to try the pasta. Had you not been now caught up in your head at the thought of Melissa teaching you how to cook one of her own recipes, your mind imagining her intoxicatingly close, you would have heard the guttural moan escape the redhead’s lips, surprising both her and her coworker.

“Or maybe you can teach me how to cook! Jesus Christ-“ she took another bite, and you snapped back into the reality around you. You watched as the woman closed her eyes to really enjoy the food, and you thought about what you would have to do to see that face all the time. “-this is actually might be better than mine.” She suddenly looked at Ms. Howard with a hard stare. “You tell Kristen Marie, and you’re dead to me.” Barbara raised her hands in innocence, indicating silence on her part.

“Well, I’m glad you like it!” You say, feeling the heat rising up your neck once more. As to try and not say anything embarrassing in front of the most beautiful woman to probably ever exist, you excused yourself and allowed the ladies to finish their lunch together. You sat in your office wondering how this day started so normal, and now you’re imagining a practical stranger’s lips all over you.

A half hour later, when you see that the ladies were finishing up, you brought out their bills-on the house, of course- and invited the ladies back any time they wished. As Melissa was about to protest the free meal, you winked and cut her off by saying, “Guess you’ll have to pay me back somehow.”

Neither of the ladies noticed the note left at the bottom of Melissa’s receipt, and Melissa herself didn’t notice it until she had pulled back into the school parking lot. She smiled and sent out a text before walking back into the halls of Abbott.

You were back in your office, filing the paperwork from earlier when your phone buzzed on the desk. Picking it up, you grinned seeing an address followed by:

Friday. 7:30. I’ll have the stuff to make manicotti. -Melissa

Wowie I really loved how Siobhan played Adaine living something she'd had multiple visions of.

Running around making sure everything is set up just right before the event. Protecting Kristen in multiple ways and guarding the voting booth so what she saw goes off without a hitch.

Whispering "happy birthday Fabian" as if she's said it so many times before. Knows that this is when she says it and so she simply does.

The confusion and batting the air in front of her face when something is different than she foresaw. As if this is still just an illusion she can shake off.

The look of horror and frustration as she realized what is happening. What she missed. And that it's now too late to stop it.

So I'm going to a ren Faire this weekend, yay! Do you think any of the bad kids would go to one? What even would it look like

You dress like a 'traditional' adventurer, none of your fancy modern clothing or tech. Everyone gets in on the fun. Fabian, Fig and Adaine are all wearing beautiful traditional elven traveling clothes. Gorgug and Kristen have comfortable human armor (Gorgug didn't want to wear the traditional orcish gear) and even Riz broke out the clothes he'd wear when visiting family in the chaos mountains (no Fabian why would they be rags or a loincloth, goblins are only dressed like that in media because 90% of the time they're fresh off getting their homes raided and havent had a chance to make new ones yet).

They have cute little events where kids can fight 'monsters'. Old school food stalls and handmade goods. The booth selling weapons is selling real ones not just shoddy prop ones. There's all kinds of fancy homemade soaps and jewelery and clothes to look at. There's even a few jousting and archery tornaments to watch.

They're having fun until one kid smacks Riz on the back of the head with a wooden sword because he's a 'goblin'.

i watched it around 4 years ago ago so my memory of the show is pretty hazy (i've been itching to rewatch...)...

i think there's such a scarcity of kennedy media that i get happy regardless when there's a show/movie/documentary coming out about the kennedys.

i LOVE barry pepper as bobby, kristen hager as joan (in the sequel series), and kristin booth as ethel. they did such an incredible job!

i thought greg kinnear as jfk was okay and i didnt like katie holmes as jackie because i kept being distracted by the fact that she was katie holmes lmao

i like the pacing of the show but the production quality is a little iffy at times and some of the acting is sooo bad (the actor for j. edgar hoover stands out to me in particular).

like many people, i wasn't a fan of them treating kennedy family "myths" as fact and i wish there was more kick, joe jr., teddy, etc. the show mainly focuses on jack, bobby, ethel, jackie, rose and joe sr.

caroline got it cancelled because she didn't like a lot of the inaccuracies the show presented, which is the reason why a lot of critics didn't like the show as well. i'm sure she also wasn't a fan of the show presenting her father hoeing around with actresses and mobster's girlfriends lmao

some of the inaccuracies that were presented for example:

the family myth of joe offering jackie a million dollars to not divorce jack. when jackie heard about that rumor she called up joe sr and said "why only 1 million, why not 10?" lmao so it definitely wasn't true

jackie being on the verge of a drug addiction and constantly about to break down. jackie would take a lot of vacations away from the white house to recharge and she was nowhere near a drug addiction. she was chain smoking profusely though lol

bobby going soft on mobsters (including sam giancana) when in reality bobby famously struck down on a lot of organized crime syndicates during the 50s.

jack being reluctant to help james meredith, the first black student to attend the university of mississipi during segregation, when in reality he threatened to utilize the national guard if he wasn't allowed to attend that university.

the show just felt really sensationalist and i'm fine with historical inaccuracies for the sake of entertainment, but the acting and production quality was just... bad so it definitely didn't help.

More Fantasy High Junior Year stuff because I made a connection that I haven't seen anyone else make. Spoilers ahoy with transcript screenshots

We're gonna see some bullshit come election night. In the most recent episode Mazey mentions that the polling booth can be anywhere as long as it's supervised by faculty.

The thing that I saw most people realize even though the Intrepid heroes have not is that just before the moonar yulenear break, Riz was made an interim faculty member by Jace, who we know to be at minimum possessed if not the accomplice we're looking for

Now we come to my concern and the connection I haven't seen people make. Though it hasn't been directly stated, it's 100% possible, maybe even likely that Kipperlilly has also been made part of the staff. Why might I say this?

Here's why. This happens right before all the bs at the last stand. Not to mention we've yet to check the bylaws that got changed even with it being re-mentioned last episode. Now I could be overthinking or something may happen to make this connection irrelevant but I wanted to point it out because the election, despite Kristen 100% being in the lead, I still think there's a lot you can do to fuck with it. Not to mention the fact that it may be crucial to whatever the overall plan is with the ratgrinders and Ankarna since she's a god of conquest as well currently.

thinking about Ed and Kristen in Gothaml

I think Ed being a lanky nerdy guy working in a precinct full of burly cop guys kind of plays into that in a way. Before seeing his interactions with Kristen we see him getting ridiculed and looked down on by the other officers, and he can’t do much about it, no? except, with Kristen, she’s a girl she’s the records keeper she’s sweet and soft and, to him, or rather in that work environment she’s ‘weaker’. There is finally someone he could be… above in a way, and he likes that. He likes that he could have that standing. I do bring into light the first time we see them interact. He tells her I could help you in a very sure posture, and he looks at her as if she was lesser and the way he leans over the cabinets it’s just… yeah. Interesting though from a riddler characterization standpoint, the way he would love to be, you know, the best in the room. that scene did feel very odd for him. I can’t decide if it’s performative masculinity ( he also chases that masculinity when he tries to have very normal romantic relationships like he wants to be normal so bad sometimes ) or it’s the DID because he does seem more like Riddler in the way he talked to her but I have the feeling that they didn’t plan for Ed’s DID until later in season 1 or in season 2. Or maybe it’s both. I think it’s also interesting that the parts Kristen DOES find charming about him are the same parts he hid from her? Like when he’s just silly and goofy and nerdy rather than, trying to fit into that specific image of masculinity. I do like that at least when they started dating he apologized for his behavior.

which…. Brings me to Kristen. She did say she thought he was sweet but wanted him to be less sweet sometimes. Which is quite tragic, she does have the worst taste in men ( sorry Kristen I love you but please stay away from men ), but I’m thinking more of whether she was being performative too ( having a traditionally masculine partner. I do like to think that her straightness was performative ) or whether she was traumatized from past experiences and needed someone strong she knows could protect her. Or , again, it could be booth. There’s also another aspect of her. I did mentioned before that she’s seen as weak and sweet but that’s not really the case. She’s feisty , shes stubborn. She’s sweet for sure but she’s more layered than that. The sweetness she’s perceived us feels more 2D and fairytale like, when she’s just human. From a meta perspective, I do find it Interesting considering how her story ended. Tragic!
