I'm an alcoholic. Like its not something I talk about a lot because of the crazy stigma around addiction but I've been drinking heavily for several years and I've been in and out of treatment since 2020.

The nastiest bit of medical fatphobia I've experienced was when my alcoholism was at its peak and I was drinking a bottle of gin every night. My doctor at the time told me I should stop drinking, not because of it's effects on my brain, liver, kidneys, etc etc etc, but because it was making me put on weight. I was physically and emotionally dependant on booze and quitting was not an option at the time. But her main worry was that I was getting fat.

Instead of me cutting down my drinking, it made me restrict for several months to maintain a "healthy" BMI and now I'm at an increased risk of early onset dementia because eating less (or nothing) while binge drinking for extended periods of time is really dangerous.

The fatphobia addicts experience, whether it be the stigma of their addictions making them gain weight, or the stigma of addicts putting on weight if they get sober (have you seen the way some people talk about Pete Doherty's weight gain?), is definitely killing people and making them sick, and it's something no one ever talks about.

“May I ask why you are carrying Louis and Gustave?”

The blonde soldier looked back at the slightly taller man in front of him, who gave him interrogative eyes. He was trying to appear as composed as he could, but Étienne knew how to recognize his boyfriend’s facial expressions— and right now he could easily notice how wrinkles appeared in the corners of Nikolai’s eyes. How his brows were slightly furrowed, something that the blonde easily recognized as amusement if he took his small smile into account.

He replaced the still collapsed Louis on his shoulder properly before answering to his boyfriend.

“Well… zhey managed to knock zhemselves out. And I am going to put zhem in a safer place.”

Gustave groaned upon hearing that, half conscious. He may or may not have retorted something, but it was unintelligible considering the fact that he was still facing the ground. Étienne was dragging him.

And anyway, Étienne wouldn’t have listened to him at this point.

“Vhat happened?” The said man asked, letting out a huff, which confirmed his amusement.

“No one really knows what iz going on in zheir damned heads. I once thought Louis would be able to handle Gustave, but it turns out zhat zhey are both worsening zhe other.” Nikolai laughed.

“It seems dhat we both have our own chaotic duo to handle.”

The blonde couldn’t help but smile at the small mention of Dimitri and Sergei, two Russians soldiers who were competing for the category of the most disastrous persons against Louis and Gustave. It was a close match.

Étienne shifted to put Louis better on his shoulder, as he was sliding down. “Where are zhey?”

“Dimitri went away wit’ dhat American general.” He replied, gesturing towards the gardens of the museum. “And Vasily is watching over Sergei so he doesn’t burn dhe place down.”

“At least you will be able to relax tonight…”

Nikolai seemed to consider talking again, as he walked towards Gustave to free his boyfriend from half of the weight. He grabbed the redhead by the waist and raised it to put him on his shoulder. The blonde thanked him and sighed in relief before Nikolai decided to say what he wanted to say.

“I was hoping we could spend some time togedher, but I can see dhat you are rather busy.”

“Ah.” Étienne nodded. “I think I can manage to free myself. Let me just put zhese two somewhere safe, where zhey won’t find anything to cause a mess.”

Nikolai tilted his head with a hum, ignoring Gustave’s now incoherent babble. “Dhat’s underestimating them.”

“I’m not getting paid enough for zhat.”

“No way… are you being paid?” The Russian joked while the other shook his head.

“With recognition, I suppose. The Emperor even asked me to keep an eye on zhem if he iz not around.”

“A sign dhat he trusts you to watch over a member of his family.”

Étienne looked at his boyfriend, eyebrows raised, before eyeing the said member of the family who was still unconscious on his shoulder. He could be glad that Louis was not aware of being transported like that, unlike his best friend who was now attempting to untie Nikolai’s hair as a sign of discontent. He sighed, a smile on his lips.

“I hope he wouldn’t mind zhe way I carry him then.”

“He probably won’t—“ the brunette felt that his hair had been successfully untied by the redhead. “Эй ! Gustaf!”

“Non non non, Gustave, you stop zhat. You stop, arrête, bon sang!” The blonde soldier walked towards him and hit the other’s hand to make him give back his hair tie.

Gustave seemed to have another plan in mind. He kept the object in his hands, and when Étienne hit his hand, he threw it as far as he could— which ended up being a few centimeters away.

Not only that!, but the hair tie fell down immediately on the blonde’s palm. He chuckled, glad to not have to fight with him this time.

“Here.” Étienne put Louis down for a moment, while he was tying back the Russian’s hair.

“Oh, thank you!”

“Étienne, Nikolai… I’m starting to get sea sick from up here..” the redhead complained with a nauseous tone, before noticing his best friend on the ground. “Oh… Louis… hey… wake up… Louiiiis…” he tried to grip his best friend, whom of course he couldn’t reach.

“Gustave, stop moving, you are making it difficult to not drop you.”

“Nikolai is right.”

“My dignity is forever compromised…”

The blonde finished tying his boyfriend’s hair, and he put a hand on Gustave’s back. “Your dignity has been compromised for a while now. Let’s go.”

Nikolai nodded, while the Frenchman got Louis back on his shoulder again.

Fortunately for them, Gustave had stopped complaining and was playing with Nikolai’s uniform instead, and they both could walk towards the Russian exhibition room— as they agreed they could ask Vasily to watch over them too until they both woke up.

When the door opened, they realized that they were entering a war scene.

Kazimir was shouting something in Russian, that of course Nikolai managed to understand — yet he wished he couldn’t. He apparently went berserk but the reason couldn’t be seen in the room. Vasily was in front of him, a hand firmly put on the man’s shoulder to calm him down and probably hold him there. What was he doing here? Wasn’t he supposed to handle Sergei? And where in the whole goddamn museum was Sergei?

The brunette sighed, that was something that needed to be taken care of. And unfortunately, this was going to infringe on the time he wanted to spend with Étienne.

Nikolai looked at his boyfriend with an apologetic face, and the blonde immediately understood. He took his hand to show that he didn’t mind.

This was the moment both Gustave and Vasily chose to talk.

“Oh! Eh! Attends!! What’s happening? Hey! Nikolai!!”

“Nikolai. Thank God you’re here.”

“Drop me, I wanna go see—“ the redhead continued, now poking his back in order to convince him, like that would even work.

“Hello Étienne, I’m sorry to bother you two.” Vasily added.

The Russian soldier nodded, knowing very well that it wasn’t his fault. With only one glance at the blonde, they understood themselves.

Étienne grabbed back Gustave, much to his annoyance to be held back from the seemingly interesting situation, and he walked away from the room, with a smile towards his boyfriend. That hurt him to not being able to spend more time with the Russian, but he knew the way things were.

He closed the door behind him, but the three Russians could still hear Gustave’s complaints.

Wernicke-Korsakoff is actually not a direct consequence of alcohol or quitting alcohol... it is caused by a deficiency of thiamine ( vitamin B1). Alcohol consumption interferes with thiamine uptake, which is why people who regularly consume large amounts of alcohol have thiamine deficiency, especially when they don't eat well/enough at the same time. It also means that they are not the only ones at risk for Wernicke-Korsakoff.... If you, for some reason or other, suffer from disordered eating (anorexia, bulimia ,etc...), do not have access to sufficient/healthy food or have a condition that impairs thiamine uptake ( gastric sleeve operation...) you are also at risk. The solution, however, is very simple and does not require a subscription from a doctor ( though if you can afford it, visiting one is still very advisable). It's called multivitamin pills. Since it is rather hard to overdose on thiamine, thiamine and the other vitamin Bs ( who can help with the uptake of thiamine) are often highly dosed in multivitamin pills. So even if you don't intend to stop drinking, it doesn't cost you much to make a detour to the nearest drugstore and buy the multivitamins that have the highest dosage of thiamine, pregnancy multivitamins in particular tend to have a lot of thiamine and folate since they are also essential for the proper construction of the neural tube . It will mitigate some of the damage alcohol does to you, and since Vitamine B ( both thiamine and the others) are known to improve depressive feelings, maybe you will feel well enough at a later date to try stopping even if you don't feel up for it now...

Do not quit alcohol cold turkey

Do not suddenly stop drinking alcohol as a new years resolution if you have been consistently using alcohol most days

Your body gets used to the presence of the alcohol as a sedative in your system

Suddenly removing the sedative you are chemically accustomed to is like suddenly removing the wall you are leaning on - you will topple over

You brain electricity gets overexcited

This causes seizures

This causes sudden onset dementia (Wernicke's encephalopathy)

This causes brain damage

If you use alcohol often (even in moderate amounts)

Or in large amounts

Or you have ever noticed you get shakey tremors and anxious when you stop drinking

Then your body is chemically dependant and you need to be very careful coming off alcohol otherwise you will cause brain damage

Slowly wean down the amount you drink over days or weeks

Talk to a doctor about your goals to quit and ask about support options

Medically supported withdrawal is a lot safer

If alcohol withdrawal goes badly there is a 15% chance it will kill you.

Do not go this alone

I just made a post the other day about Simon’s hand size vs. Johnny’s but the piano is so hand-focused (and I’m such a slut for hands) it’s hard not to think of it.

I see this piano being in a bar, and while playing it usually isn’t in your job description, everyone including the owner knows you’ve got the training to put on a little show during slow nights or special occasions (like that year there was a snowstorm on Christmas Eve and you made a grown man cry with your rendition of O Holy Night).

The 141 are the only newcomers in the bar, and the night is incredibly slow. You play one little tune as you pass the piano, pecking at the keys with a single finger, and it’s enough to attract their attention.

Johnny and Kyle crowd around the piano flirting obscenely with you (almost as much as they’re flirting with each other). They ask you to play something, so you do. Half the time your eyes are on the keys but the other half of the time they’re watching the large man who’s refused to leave the booth, the mask over his mouth doing nothing to disguise the way he’s watching your hands.

“Can you teach me?” Kyle asks, leaning against the piano lightly. “I’ve been told I have very good hands.”

You ignore that for the bait it is and shift over. “Depends. What’s your hand span?”

“My what?” he asks, laughing, sitting on the bench beside you.

“Your hand span! From your thumb to your pinky, how far can you reach on the piano.” You demonstrate, dextrous enough to span a ninth. Genetics keep you from reaching any further. It doesn’t bother you; Chopin could only reach a ninth after all.

Kyle’s hands can stretch to a tenth. Johnny insists on having his turn next, and the both of them begin arguing over whose hands are larger and more dextrous. They might as well have their dicks out, you think, rolling your eyes.

You stand and get back to your duties, leaving them to you with the piano a while longer. You’re busy pouring drinks when a sound rings out that catches your attention, clear as a bell over the quiet din of the bar. Your head snaps to the piano.

The man in the mask stands there—fingers easily spanning a twelfth.

Your mouth goes dry, imaging the size difference if you were to hold your hands up palm to palm. Satisfied, he turns away from the piano and accidentally catches your eye. He raises both his brows once in a jaunty little motion before sitting back down at the booth with his friends, something about his slumped posture registering as distinctly smug.

Rightfully so. You’re scrambling for a napkin to write your number on, that note still ringing in your ears.

Actually,the reason why I hadn't posted anything there for this period of time was nothing more,but me trying to work at something more serious than headcanons on all the morons living in the mansion.After this one I'm going to start uploading longer posts about the construction of the universe of Traumatic pasta,+ I'm going to tell you more information about Slenderman in person and Slender brothers.

For now,you have to get satisfaction with headcanons on grumpy-adults-of-the-mansion,since we've already talked about all the pimply-teens-of-the-mansion.

1.Tim doesn't love children and any kind of their presence in his surrounding: for him any child,even the calmest one,is too annoying and loud for his nervous system to bear.Wright also doesn't have any understanding how to treat kids,so he can be rude or too strict to them.He has the same attitude towards Sally,just because of Korsakoff's Syndrome the man doesn't remember,that:

• Firstly,she's a fcking ghost;

• Secondly,the girl is a special case,so any harsh treatment can disappoint her.

2.Tim hates sweets.Really.He can't even look at them without vomiting,so,before his life was ruined,he had asked his friends or family members to prepare any other dish instead of a birthday cake (once Alex,during their period of friendship in college,made a birthday tequila,getting a thick candle inside of the bottle and then breaking it into two pieces while it was still there and taking away any opportunity to get it out and drink the liquid,so Brian,who had bought it with the last few dollars he had in the pocket,was close to sticking the whole construction into his butt).

3.Wright is extremely afraid of Slenderman,LJ or any other entities,which "visit" their mansion sometimes.If in Slendy's case he has a serious trauma tied up with this bastard,the other ones just confuse his brain with their existence.It often leads to panic attacks or Tim getting stuck in the places,where he has tried to hide and then forgot,how to get out of there (like the cellar,the loft and even someone's wardrobe).

4.Since Korsakoff's Syndrome has the tendency to keep the patient stuck inside of one period of time without remembering anything other,that happened after or before it,Tim mostly thinks,that he is in the mental hospital during one of his stays after he has got lost from all the radars and before getting out of there to be found again by Jay,so he confuses other pastas with roommates and patients and LJ as something between his another hallucination and a nurse.There are only two things his sliced brain can't explain: why he's allowed to drink in the hospital big amounts of alcohol and why the fuck the refit looks so poorly made.

5.Sometimes Tim feels minutes of admiration towards Slenderman,which are built on the corpse of his previous blurry memories about him.The man feels gratitude because of the fact of him not hurting Wright during his lifetime physically and only abusing him psychologically.He has even shared with Helen one time,that he had a little of affection towards the entity's presence in his life and would be disappointed,if Slenderman stopped tormenting him in his hallucinations.

1.Masky is the most arrogant piece of shit you can meet in the whole mansion.For some unknown reasons he counts himself as a higher vessel and the one Slenderman trusts the most,so he often behaves the way he knows everything better than anyone else after the faceless fucker: when you dare to make the smallest mistake,this guy will definitely correct you and add his opinion about the intelligence of your gene pool,if you've grown up with such a smooth brain.

2.He likes sweets.All the kinds of it,but actually he doesn't understand,why everybody counts cheesecake as his favourite dessert.It's not like Masky will refuse to try one,but the man also doesn't build any kind of cult around it.

3.Masky perfectly gets along with children: he knows,how to distract and entertain them,so it's never a problem for him to babysit Sally sometimes (even in spite of being too serious about her actions and acting like a grumpy old buffer).

4.Masky doesn't have any addictions unlike his host.Sometimes he can only smoke,if he's too nervous,but the alter always gets really irritated,when,during fronting,finds out,that Tim has smoked or drunk alcohol,because Masky thinks,that he's not the only one,who has to take care of the body's psychical state.

5.Actually,Masky's a pretty old fucker in Wright's system: he has started fronting from his early childhood.If we're getting deeper into the details,he was the first,who appeared,when Wright's trauma tied up with Slenderman's constant watching over him started progressing as the way to cope with his great fear of the entity.During all this years he has been always with his host,just slowly transforming into Masky,who serves Slendy,because he decided,that it was the safest way for them both.

1.The reason,why Helen is hanging out with such a degraded layer of society,is the rake he has stepped on for a few times during his first done murders of his "killer career",which made him understand,that he should have been more careful with his killing plans and preferably get a patronage somewhere (as you understand,he found it under Slenderman's wing).

The main reason to stay in the mansion for Otis is to have the place to lie low in the case of danger,+ the cellar of his new home has already become his new stage to create the art because of having all the conditions for it.

2.Helen is very intelligent,and not only in the way of creating great plans and perfectly manipulating the living subjects of his interest,but the man's also deep in many topics.It's a paradise on the Earth to talk with him about just anything: music,literature,the problems of society or mythology of different nations.The way he thinks is fascinating,even in spite of the fact,that sometimes,due to his lack of understanding,how the feelings work,the painter's thoughts can seem robotic and empty.

3.Bullying,which happened to Helen at school,also shows the trauma effects of it in his behaviour,even despite being not that easy to notice.

He never tries to build bridges with other pastas,refuses to go to the missions with anyone as a partner and prefers to work alone.To say more,Helen eats not at the dinner table,but only at his work place.The man just feels... uncomfortable in any kind of company.The only way to get him is to talk only eye-to-eye.

4.The only person in the whole mansion Helen can stand is Tim,but it's more a scientifical interest than any type of normal relationship: the painter likes to pretend to be the man's mental hospital roommate,sometimes even his therapist,and test his mind,asking questions and answering the ones Wright gives him.It brings him a lot of pleasure and satisfies his interest.Helen also likes to talk to Masky himself,if he fronts in the mansion,but the alter is too bitchy,so their conversations are less interesting than with the host because of Masky's lack of interest towards them.

5.Helen has many other interests except fine art: for example,he can play a few musical instruments like the piano,the flute and the violin.He also has a great passion for theatre and enjoys watching the plays,the painter sometimes lets himself have in the towns or even states far away from the ones he's wanted in.

(🏚️📼(Brian))

1.The idea of communicating with each other through the little notebook was Brian's:he wanted to keep the thread between him and his alter,so he could create a slight kind of illusion of his control over the situations happening.

He always insists on Hoodie making the notes during his fronting and tries to be an example for him with his own ones about the day going,but the yellow shit uses the notebook only to mock Brian with his notes,like:"Shit","Goin to eat smn's ass",etc.

2.Brian can't bear any kind of pain: he's really sensitive in the way of every small wound and shouts at LJ,when he gets him "patched",because of the clown's medical treatment being too harsh.

When Brian gets the body prepared for the missions,he literally puts on an armour out of pads and masks.Not like he has any control over the body during the tasks,but he's the one,who's going to deal with all the traumas after he gets to the safe spot.

3.By the character,Brian is chill.Sometimes he can get a little bit shy,when new people appear in his life,but at all he's really cool to hang out with.

4.Brian is the only one,who shows interest in helping LJ with the mansion.In spite of his fear towards the soulless monster,he still tries to complete all the given by him orders in the household,understanding,that it will obviously help other pastas,including the ones,who can't take care of themselves.

5.Brian absolutely doesn't have any kind of survival instinct.It's like you can punch him into face,and he won't be able to,at least, prevent it by closing his face with hands,which shows how slow his reactions are.

(🏚️📼(Hoodie))

1.Since Hoodie can't show his concern through the words,he shows it with actions,as he does with Masky,who's the only one he tolerates.

If Masky is injured,Hoodie's the first to help him or to protect from the danger.It's not like there is any strong bond between the partners,but Brian's alter still cares enough about this stupid ass shit to do everything not to lose the only one he feels comfortable with.

2.The methods Hoodie uses to murder his victims are extremely violent and remind more of prolonged torment than a quick killing.He tries to keep his victims alive as long as it possible and even makes his partners terrified with his handling.

3.Hoodie hates the fact,that Brian keeps getting their limbs into knee or elbow pads, preventing the body from any harm during the missions.He gets turned on by the fact of hurting himself: he likes making his skin covered with wounds and getting fingers into the deep ones,sometimes he even jumps from high ledges,hoping to break one of his bones.Because of this type of handling the body,it has two fingers and five teeth missing and literally no nails on the right arm.

4.Seldom,Hoodie fronts in the mansion,and the first factor of it happening right in the moment is Brian's strange observations,which the man starts making out of sudden,standing in the doorway and listening to someone's conversation or even looking out of the least noticeable place, watching other pastas' activities.

Hoodie can't explain his interest to this type of behaviour: he just likes to observe,but he never takes any part in the whole scene of human emotions working.

5.The nickname "Hoodie" hasn't been given to the alter by his host personally or by Hoodie himself,but by other pastas (the tradition started by Clockwork).Just because of this fucker fronting only when Brian's on the mission wearing the only clothes he has and the mask (not something prepared to assign the switch between personalities: as a proxy committing crimes he has to cover his face anyway).

It's also important to notice,that Hoodie doesn't respond to his nickname,like a stupid cat,or,at least,prefers to ignore anyone,who calls him like this,so it has no sense in giving him any name 😭

The final battle

a theory on arcane s2 caitvi plot chronology!

based on the new vi clip, i don't think cait asks vi to join the enforcers until LATER in season 2 (not at the beginning as we previously thought). here's why.

vi meets this guy at the pitfighting arena. he looks and acts JUST like vander. he's a new father figure to vi, supporting her and offering her a reason to continue even when the situation looks dire.

but where else do we see him...? in an earlier trailer/teaser, right here ↓ on the left, serving on cait's enforcer team (along with vi)!

so what happens between the pitfighting arc and the enforcer arc? my theory is that *something* drives cait and vi apart at the beginning of season 2, which also causes vi to push cait away and isolate herself as an underground pitfighter. meanwhile, an alcoholic vi continues to hallucinate cait.

eventually, cait finds vi in horrible condition, nearly dead, and offers her the option to join the enforcers. she tells her something along the lines of "it hurts to see you like this. i have a healthier way to direct your anger" — which, of course, is the recruit offer. to cait, it makes perfect sense: vi gets to pull herself out of her slump and save herself, and they'll all be working together to avenge cassandra and get back at jinx.

but vi isn't so keen on leaving her new father figure. so what does she do? ask the guy to join cait's enforcer team.

if everything lines up, that means the enforcer arc FOLLOWS the pitfighter arc. vi and her stepdad/friend struggle together and then join cait's enforcer dream team together.

as for WHY i think this is plausible —

in season 1, we saw vi's total resentment toward piltover and especially enforcers, even in act three. is she really going to change her mind that easily and become the very entity she despises most, the complete antithesis of her existence, at the very beginning of the season? no, unless something drastic happens that allows her to give up her life in the undercity and turn to the other side. we know vi is a steadfast person and that her values of loyalty and justice are unshakeable... but the pitfighting would qualify as the lowest point of her life.

 Korsakoff syndrome — alcohol-induced amnesia, "problems learning new information, inability to remember recent events and long-term memory gaps." this is... admittedly not something i want to even think about as a possible option, but it's unfortunately there. in the clip, we see vi drinking so much she often blacks out and loses her strength. if cait finds her in that condition, it's possible she's already lost memories of powder, with all recent memories being about jinx. this would be extremely heartbreaking, but i also think it would line up with my theory.
