i love the way we can see how kaz’s threats/manner of speaking impacts inej’s own language - for example, when she’s kidnapped, she threatens bajan by telling him “you’ll have trouble teaching piano without your fingers.” you can’t tell me that isn’t influenced by kaz “i’ll cut your tongue out and feed it to the first stray cat that i find” brekker and i love it for them

Lang Qianqiu sets out to avenge his family, leaving the main plot of the story behind for 5 volumes on his quest.

He gets nowhere with this bc the man who killed his parents is hanging out with the main cast in the main plot for a good chunk of the story.

When he finally catches up to the man he acquires:
