I tried to make a pastel vibe for this one~ ]

So… has anyone realized that the mummified Ganondorf and Rauru’s arm totally must still be under Hyrule Castle in the Age of Calamity timeline? How do you think that would go? After all, while Tears of The Kingdom takes place a hundred years from Age of Calamity, I still can’t help but feel disturbing his grave would unleash him regardless. That seal can’t have been holding well for a long, long time.

I guess my question is, how would the Upheaval change the Age of Calamity world, and how would the events of Tears of The Kingdom be changed by the Champions still being alive and Hyrule having never collapsed in the first place?

It's a reconstructed timeline, so there's a lot of custom aspects to our mesh story; it's Hyrule's founding era with BOTW merged in and other stuff added to it. So it still feels like Zelda but there's some twists and turns! We have FOUR Story Arcs planned with more in the works.

FIRST ARC UP? GANONDORF'S OF COURSE!

─ 16 YEARS AGO PRINCESS ZELDA was born and the first BLOOD MOON appeared. Monsters appeared and increased with time, attacking places such as HATENO VILLAGE, GERUDO TOWN, CASTLE TOWN, HYRULE CASTLE and others recently, cutting off trade to regions. GERUDO KING GANONDORF, unaware of this reason, urged RAURU, HYRULE KINGDOM's KING to restore trade; a poor dinner caused the inevitable spiral to begin where GANONDORF took matters into his own hands. Kidnapping PRINCESS ZELDA was the first act he would commit. ─

─ This sparked a GERUDO CIVIL WAR, forcing GANONDORF to seek more power with the aid of his mothers KOUME & KOTAKE. He was brought to the REMAINS OF HALERU, claiming the MALICE TEAR [once wielded by the prior HATRED INCARNATE, the Zonai HALERU] and unlocked his powers, starting his rise to power. The NINE SAGES also awakened and gathered at HYRULE CASTLE to oppose this rising threat. ─

─ A WAR PATH began, starting with the massacre of the Gerudos at GERUDO TOWN, spanning across the continent in an 8 day wrath of death and destruction. GANONDORF has claimed the TRIFORCE OF POWER, trapped RAURU and has claimed HYRULE.. That is where things lie, on the eve of Day 9. ─

─ During this 10 day war path the barrier keeping the DRAIL in the HALLOWED REALM is weakening.. eventually VAIL, the FORSAKEN GOD within will be released from his confinement.. ─

[King Ganondorf asleep, sprawled across the cold stone floor, the morning light barely piercing through heavy curtains. The faint glow catches on the rich black tattoos winding over his exposed arm and back. His sword rests within reach, a silent reminder of his vigilance. Even in rest, his face remains tense. The abandoned hammock sways slightly above him, untouched. It’s easy to guess who’s peeking though the curtain 🤭]

I was convinced Rauru and Ganondorf were somehow connected, and I’m kinda disappointed they weren’t; I assumed that they wouldn’t have cast the same VA for both without some connection, given they have dialogue together in scenes. I notices the horns of The Demon King resembled Rauru’s own. the ambiguity inherent in how they rarely address the villain as Ganondorf, but rather The Demon King, after all, is Rauru not a king? I noticed how when Zelda warns Rauru about his intentions, Rauru says he knows “that, among other reasons, is why I wish to keep him close.” What other reasons could there be?…

I had assumed, somehow, that they were entwined somehow, some sort of connection, that Rauru would be subsumed by Ganondorf and fused together, or that they were once one being, split apart.

… honestly, I’m still suspicious. It feels like some major lost opportunity to justify their casting decisions.

EDIT: THEY AREN’T VOICED BY THE SAME GUY???? How the hell do they sound so identical then???? He sounds JUST like Matt Mercer’s Yusuke voice!!!!
