Types of disney princes / male leads *ੈ✩‧₊˚
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
heeseung
nick wilde (from zootopia) okay not unexpected like have you seen heeseung, sooo foxy meow, jokes aside. I think they are alike because as we all know heeseung is a very flirty person, which resonates with nick in the earlier part of zootopia when he constantly teases Judy and “uses her words against her” and I think the method of teasing is also really similar, but ofc!! the growth, when both nick and judy planned the scheme to get bellweather caught was really smart. And you know that part that nick was there with judy while she cried ? exactly like heeseung, he would always be there for you when you need someone there and always there to make you feel better and gives you a very huge sense of comfort
jay
prince eric (from the little mermaid) c’mon guys… jay is our classic gentleman, like how eric was with ariel, he would always treat people, especially ladies with utmost respect ( guys I CANT SHUT UP BUT LIKE HAVE YOU GUYS SEEN THE VIDEO OF JAY SAYING “ ladies, one at a time, don’t push please” BYE I DIED I CANT SHNDNSNDNSNNANDNSNSB) anyways I digressed but like Jay is the most perfect gentleman bf everrrrr like yk that one scene that is where Eric js kissed Ariel sooo deeply, SOOO JAY CODED BYEEE AN ULTIMATE SWEETHEART
jake
flynn ryder … (from tangled) CMON YALL SAW THAT COMING OKAY…..Flynn Ryder is soooo flirty like jake like BYEEEE, also THAT NOSEEE !!! Both of them have fantastic noses, also another reason why they are similar is also because Flynn was protecting rapunzel even when he was severely injured which was very very jake core to me because jake always puts you first before anything even if he is “in pain “ also jake is a very charismatic person and like Flynn he is able to get out of trouble or get something through him sweet talking
Sunghoon
milo thatch (from the Atlantis the lost empire) milo is a very gentle and intelligent person, very sunghoon-esqe NO??? personally I think sunghoon is a very goofy person okay, similar to milo, he fights for what he thinks is right. Also my boy is a simp!! and both sunghoon and Milo are like sooo loser stuck in a hot body core, and ngl both of them look really good in glasses saur 😣
Sunoo
Hercules (from Hercules lol) anyways a lil “unexpected “ because sunoo looks more feminine but Hercules was a very gentle character which suits sunoo very well because I think that although sunoo is very gentle which makes the girlies more comfy w him, he also has a very manly streak in him, and personally I think he’s super brave and kind, just like Hercules. Maybe a lil himbo core? But also not really, sunoos just a really sweet guy
Jungwon
tadashi hamada (from big hero 6) GUYS YOU CANT TELL ME JUNGWON DOESNT LOOK LIKE HIM LIKE HELLOOOOO, anyways both of them are smart, innovative and have very kind souls (which imo is soooo attractive gbye) and also because tadashi made baymax just to take care of hiro if he’s not there anymore (GBYE MY HEART CANT TAKE THIS) also I think jungwon is a very self sacrificing person, always trying to sacrifice himself to help others yk, which can be good and bad. Lastly, jungwon is sooo reliable just like tadashi
riki
NAVEEEENNNNNNN (from princess and the frog) like the banter ?! the growth, everything!!! the reason why I think riki is like naveen is because personality wise they seem really similar like the banter and teasing first and foremost and just how carefree both of them are. secondly, it’s also about how naveen grew throughout the movie, from someone who didn’t care about anyone but himself to learning how to adapt and think of other people. obviously im not saying that riki doesn’t care about anyone but himself but in the way that we say riki grew up since i land days until now, and we can see like naveen, how much he has grown as a person!!!! also I will die on this hill that riki treats his gf like a kweeeennnnn like I’m not even joking, he wants nothing but the best for you hehehe and would treat you like a queen
—-
a/n: BYE GUYS I LOVE THIS SMMM IM LIKE SUCH A BIG DISNEY FAN BYE SNMSNDNSNS I LOVEEEE DISNEY SMSMSMSMS THIS WAS SOO CUTE HOPE YALL LIKE IT TEWWW SARANGHAEEEEE !!! LMK HOW I DIDDDD MEOWWWW

I could have sworn I had a proper ask for this, but Tumblr seems to have eaten it. Anyway I'll do my best to give which ones I have and explain my reasoning. I will continue referring to Yutu as Yutu in my writing so if you don't like these names there is no need to stick to them.
notes: this is part of my fyuuture kid au, information about which can be found on my masterlist under the series section.
Heartslabyul
Riddle! Yutu's real name is March. This is a reference both to the march hare in Alice in Wonderland and the phrase "in like a lion out like a lamb" as it reminds me of Riddle's temper.
Trey! Yutu is a triplet, and I wanted to give them baking themed names? Yutu's real name is Bran, Yutres's is Clementine, and Yushi's is Hazel. I like to think Clementine goes by Clem and has that stereotypical hatred of her full name because it means she's in trouble.
Cater! Yutu... was really hard to come up with a good name for. I kind of like Rain though? It's *unique* but it's very pretty and I could see Cater wanting a name that was a bit more hippy and alt than normal.
Ace! Yutu had Elias submitted as his real name by a requestor and I don't hate it? It's a pretty normal name and does sound like something he'd come up with thinking it would remind Yuu of their world. The other name I would offer is Jack, because well. Jack of Hearts, but that might end up being Ace's brother's name and I cannot see him naming his son after his brother or that other Jack we know...
Similarly Deuce! Yutu had the name Johan submitted in the same ask and it actually has a very similar meaning to Elias (god is gracious v lord is my god) and again. I could see Deuce wanting to honor a name from Yuu's world with their first kid. The other name I would offer is Damien, as his name is Deuce and his mother is named Dilla, so the D names seem to be a theme.
Savanaclaw
Leona! Yutu... I wrote down the name Kutaka for him. Scar has two possible real names listed on his wiki page and I became attached to the headcannon this reddit user put forward I found while researching them. The name Kutaka comes from the phrase "to want" and if he was born than Leona wanted him. Simple as that.
Forgive me but I wrote down Akiba for Ruggie! Yutu's real name. Supposedly it means "savings" in Swahili and as... unromantic and practical of a meaning that might be I could see Ruggie naming his kid that in the hopes of promoting fiscal responsibility in his future.
Jack! Yutu's real name is Ashe. It's a type of tree, and a type of grey. Jack's name is believed to be taken from the author of "Call of the Wild" but I didn't find any names there or in related works I liked. So woodsy name it was.
Octavinelle
Azul! Yutu's real name is Archimedes. I took it from a minor character in the Little Mermaid tv show who is Ariel's friend who is also obsessed with the human world, but I like the idea of him having the same name as an important historical figure in our world. Also Yuu could call him Archie and he could hate it.
Jade! Yutu's real name is Merrin. Fannon has Jade call Yuu his pearl a lot, and Merrin can mean pearl of the sea. I like the imagery of Jade naming his child after his precious partner.
Floyd! Yutu's real name is Jasper. It's an orange red stone, and shrimps are also orange red. The octotrio all have names related to color in some way, but Jade and Floyd can also be referencing gemstones so I like the idea that they'd reach for similar names for their own kids.
Scarabia
Kalim! Yutu's real name is Mazin. The name means "rain clouds" but those are a blessing in the desert. Not to mention that rain is what Oasis Maker does!
Jamil! Yutu's real name is Sohail. The name seems to mean "star" or "trouble free." Najma also can mean "star" and Jamil wants for a life that is trouble free. It feels like a name he'd like.
Pomefiore
Vil! Yutu's real name is Laurie for no other reason that his unique magic deals with painting and I like Little Women. Also it feels like a fun name and I can see Vil cooing over it.
Rook! Yutu's real name is Oliver. If he were to have a sibling their name would be Roland. This is not foreshadowing for his post.
Epel! Yutu's real name is Jyri. It means farming man and I wanted a cute sounding name.
Ignihyde
I had a real hard time deciding Yutu Shroud's name. I sort of like Orpheus if we're being honest here... sure that's the name of a tragic hero and not how Idia would want his relationship to go, but it's a pretty name.
Diasomnia
The Draconia's have a clear naming pattern so Malleus! Yutu's real name is Malleyu because of course Malleus wishes to name his son after his beloved spouse. In the bad timeline, as part of forgetting who Mal is, Yuu gives Yutu a different name. I had written down Cadmus, the name means "from the east" and references a man who turns into a snake.
Lilia does not have a clear idea where his name comes from and he named his first kid Silver; I think he'd defer to Yuu for names. What is the point of having a kid with a vampire fae general if you can't name him Alucard?
Silver! Yutu's real name is Lance 1) because it is a type of weapon so Silver will approve 2) as a shortened form of Lancelot, who was a knight raised by fairies.
Sebek! Yutu's name is malleus I sort of like the idea of Yuu insisting he be named Thor. It fits in just well enough with the Zigvolt naming structure (both Sebek and Baur seem to be named after gods) and Yuu gets to use something from their world.
Extra
I think we said this already but Rollo! Yutu's real name is Jehan, after his brother. Jehan is the name of Frollo's brother in the book version of Hunchback.

I'm wondering. What do you imagine the TWST Jasmine, and Reille to be like? Just because you mentioned in another post you alluded to the RSA students being goodie-goodies. (Not that I believe that's a bad thing. That's similar to my hc about the students who attend there. Just curious.)
Tumblr media
I think they vary from neutral to goody-goodies. There probably are at least a few bad apples in there, but the majority are mostly good- and painfully naive.
Chen’ya, for a neutral example, is twisted from the Cheshire Cat. The Cheshire Cat is neither really working for or against Alice, more as he simply wishes to make mischief and stir up chaos. Did he get Alice in trouble with the Queen? Yes. Did he create chaos that saved her from the Queen? Also yes. I think Chen’ya is a unique case among the RSA students, where he’s a character that’s twisted from someone who isn’t really a hero and really isn’t a villain, but hasn’t done enough bad so he got put on the good side.
Characters like Neige and Rielle are based off of the princesses, the main characters and the “heroes” of the stories. So Rielle is probably just as goody goody and naive as Neige, who fails to recognize that Vil is uncomfortable around him.
Jasmine’s character… might be a little better, solely due to how rebellious and cunning Jasmine was, but overall is very good and pure of heart, and still painfully naive- as we saw in the movie when she nearly lost her hand stealing an apple not realizing she had to pay for it. So possibly highly intelligent, but… unaware of certain things that will end up getting him into trouble. Rielle is probably a lot like Ariel, so stubborn, a hopeless romantic, and impulsive. Kind, yes, but doesn’t really think before she leaps.
Also YESSS NARISSA!!!! I love Enchanted.

She called me daddy / Jonah Hauer-King X Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: You have a 3-year-old daughter from a past relationship, your former partner walking out on your relationship when you had ‘accidentally’ gotten pregnant. Luckily you met Jonah on a night out about a year ago and ever since he met your daughter the two have been completely in love. Now you were at the Little Mermaid premier to cheer on Jonah, hoping to stay behind the scenes, but your daughter had other plans. Warnings: Cuteness and a cussing toddler Word count: 916
─── ・ 。゚☆: .☽ . :☆゚. ───
You had done the best you could at looking as pretty as possible for your boyfriend this evening, as much as you could have done after spilling jelly over your white dress when your toddler demanded her PB&J sandwich.
Hurrying to the venue you had luckily made it on time, watching as Jonah stepped onto the carpet, holding hands with his co-star Halle and laughing. Most people assumed that you would be jealous and you could understand why. Halle was beautiful and you could tell that her and Jonah had a connection, but you trusted him. You trusted the both of them and you knew that it was just friendship. So you couldn’t do anything but smile, holding your toddler’s hand as your eyes followed him across the blue carpet.
You couldn’t be more proud of what he had achieved. Crouching down beside your daughter you wrapped your arms around the little girl. “Look, there’s Jonah,” you pointed him out to her and she looked in awe as she saw him walk alongside Ariel. Her mind lost in the magic of the movies as she refused to believe that it was not real, so you decided to let her. “They look pretty tonight, don’t you think?”
She shyly nodded her head, her tiny fingers playing with her bottom lip as she balanced her weight around a bit. “I wanna say hi,” she murmured.
“You can say hi after they’re done taking photos, okay?” you reply, hugging her a little tighter as you watched your boyfriend pose for his pictures. Your heart swelling with love just as it did the first time you saw him.
Lost in the moment you didn’t realize that your grip had loosened, but Y/D/N did notice and she took the opportunity to pull free from your grasp and run towards Jonah. Your eyes widening in a slight state of panic, hoping that he wouldn’t be too mad as you tried to explain to the security that the girl who slipped past them was your daughter.
As you were doing so, you failed to see your daughter clutch onto Jonah’s pants sleeve, looking up at him with wideset eyes, the same kind of adoration in her eyes that you had in yours when you looked at him.
She shyly turned her face away from the flashing camera’s, causing Jonah to chuckle quietly as he scooped the girl up into his arms, holding her on his hip and hiding her face away from the camera’s.
“Hey sweetie, where’s mommy?” he asked, his voice hushed to keep her calm. She pointed in your direction and Jonah followed the line of her finger to see you talking to the security guards who refused to let you through. “Is mommy in a bit of trouble? Should we help her?”
Your daughter shook her head ‘no’ with a mischievous little smile on her face, giggling softly as she held onto the collar of his shirt. Jonah chuckled quietly as well, tossing her up slightly to hold her more comfortably.
“No?”
“No,” she stated firmly. “I wanna be a famous star and mommy tells me I can’t because she doesn’t want me to say something embarrassing about you like how you always snore in the morning,” she explained, a crimson flushing across his cheeks as he hears a few photographers laughing softly, knowing they heard what she said. “and I think that that is- can I say a bad word?” she cut herself off mid-sentence and Jonah, thinking that it couldn’t be that bad as she was only so young, gave her a nod. “I think that that is fucking bullocks.” she finished, Jonah’s eyes widening in shock as he placed his free hand over his gaping mouth. Hearing laughing behind him, he turned towards Halle, silently begging her for advice on what he should do as he tried his best not to freak out.
Halle couldn’t stop laughing however, finding it adorable how the little girl who was dressed up as Ariel cursed with a soft voice and a heavy British accent. Even if you didn’t have the accent, she had began to pick it up from Jonah and you found it too adorable.
“Did you- did you hear that? Did she really just say that?” Jonah questioned in a state of internal panic, already trying to figure out how to explain to you that your daughter had used such language, and with his approval too. “Where did you learn to speak like that, missy?” he asked asked her, but quickly tried to come up with something else to talk about when he saw you walk up to him. Not wanting to have to explain this to you in such a public setting.
Your toddler, however, had very different plans… again.
“Fuck!” she exclaimed, a cute smile on her face as the photographers burst out laughing. You and Jonah looked at her in full-blown shock at the audacity of the normally shy girl.
“Y/D/N Y/D/M/N Y/L/N, where did you hear that?” you asked her sternly.
She didn’t look fazed at all, placing a hand on top of Jonah’s shaven head. “Daddy,” she answered and as you gave Jonah a scolding look he couldn’t help but smile widely.
“You taught her that kind of language?”
“She just called me ‘daddy’,” was all he said, the smile on his face only growing as he pressed a kiss against her cheek, his eyes watering from sheer happiness. “She called me daddy.”

Hey guys this is Samantha again and I decided to do another story based on The Little mermaid and this is a gift for @eeveepalooza I decided to make the characters including Faith ( @eeveepalooza ) as Ariel and Mordecai from Regular Show as Prince Eric
Tumblr media
The Little Eevee
Beginning:
Once upon a time, in a magical underwater kingdom, lived Faith the Eevee, a curious and adventurous young Eevee with a beautiful singing voice. She was the youngest daughter of King Triton, the powerful and protective ruler of the underwater kingdom. However, Faith was fascinated with the world above the sea and often collected human artifacts with her best friend Flounder.
Scene: Faith's Secret Grotto
Faith: singing "Look at this stuff, isn't it neat? Wouldn't you think my collection's complete?"
Flounder: "Faith, you’re gonna get in trouble if your dad finds out about this place!"
Faith: "I just want to know more about them, Flounder. The humans seem so interesting."
One day, Faith notices a ship above the water and swims up to investigate. Onboard, she sees Prince Mordecai, a handsome and kind-hearted prince. Instantly, Faith falls in love with him. Suddenly, a violent storm hits, and Mordecai is thrown overboard. Faith saves him and brings him to shore.
Faith: "Please be safe, my prince. I wish I could be part of your world."
Middle:
Faith's longing to be with Mordecai grows stronger. She goes to see Ursula, the sea witch, who agrees to turn her into a human for three days in exchange for her voice. Faith accepts the deal and transforms into a human, with the condition that she must receive a "true love's kiss" from Mordecai to remain human forever. Otherwise, she will turn back into an Eevee and belong to Ursula.
Ursula: "Now sing, sing for your dear sea witch!"
Faith: silently "I can't believe I did this. I hope Mordecai will love me without my voice."
Faith, now on land, meets Mordecai, who is enchanted by her beauty but puzzled by her silence. Despite the communication barrier, they spend time together and begin to form a bond.
Mordecai: "There's something about you, Faith. I feel like I've met you before."
As the third day approaches, Ursula disguises herself as a beautiful human named Vanessa and uses Faith's voice to enchant Mordecai, making him forget about Faith and decide to marry Vanessa.
Mordecai: "I can't believe it, Vanessa is the girl who saved me!"
End:
Heartbroken, Faith is determined to stop the wedding. With the help of her friends, including Flounder and Sebastian, they manage to reveal Ursula's deception. The sea witch transforms back into her true form and tries to take Faith down to the ocean.
Sebastian: "Quickly, Faith! You must break the spell!"
In the ensuing battle, King Triton arrives and sacrifices himself to save Faith, becoming Ursula's prisoner. Seeing Faith's bravery and love for her father, Mordecai realizes that she is the one who saved him.
Mordecai: "Faith, I know it's you! I love you!"
He kisses Faith, breaking the spell. King Triton is freed, and in his rage, he destroys Ursula with his powerful trident.
King Triton: "You have shown great courage, Faith. You truly belong to both worlds."
King Triton, seeing his daughter's happiness, grants Faith her wish to be human permanently. Faith and Mordecai marry, uniting the two worlds.
Faith: "Thank you, Father. I will always cherish our underwater home."
Mordecai: "We'll visit often, I promise."
And so, Faith the Eevee and Prince Mordecai lived happily ever after, celebrating their love and the unity of land and sea.
THE END
@eeveepalooza I hope you love this

So I watched Transformers: One
Spoilery stuff under the cut! Above it will be general thoughts.
First of all: Movie good. Especially for Transformers Fans.
(The person I went with, who is not a mega-fan like I am, but has consumed most of the movies and a few TV shows, called it the best movie they'd seen all year, so there.)
The music is solid, there are some absolutely gorgeous visuals, and the pacing is quite good (there are a few things that feel like they move a bit fast, but acceptably so for a movie). Though I'm not a fan of casting movie stars as voice actors, the performances did not take me out of the movie at all.
For a Transformers fan, there are a few lore gags that got a chuckle out of me, and there was lots to discuss regarding some choices they made with my movie-fan friend.
That said, despite the franchise nods, I believe that it is still VERY accessible for non-fans, and they managed this without much expositing. Essentially, going in, the following is what someone should know, but isn't essential: "On an alien planet called Cybertron, there are a bunch of robot aliens. A lot of them can turn from being human shaped into a vehicle. Because they are robots, they can live a long time, but they can also die. The food they eat is called energon, and their heart/soul is called their spark."
Most of this is already picked up from cultural osmosis, so non-fans are pretty much set to go.
So yeah, non-spoiler bit over, grab a friend! Go watch it!
Okay, spoilers.
I thought it was interesting that, at the beginning of the movie, D-16 is the rule follower, while Orion Pax is the troublemaker. That said, it was a good choice. It makes D-16's decent into violence make more sense. He was BETRAYED, he is ANGRY, all the work he's ever done, all the rules he's ever followed, the man he idolized-- it was all a lie!
For Orion, though, yeah, he's angry, but he was always looking for more, anyway. Also, even in the beginning, Orion's getting in trouble to help people; he puts his life on the line to rescue Jazz, and sacrifices a chance at winning to help D-16. He's a helper, he doesn't want people to die! So while him trying to save Sentinel in the climax is a little odd, it makes some sense.
Elita One is... kind of a bitch, and I like her for it. Interestingly, though the other three of the quartet use their alternate names during the movie (Orion Pax, D-16, B-127), Elita doesn't use "Ariel". This is probably due to Ariel being kinda... an organic, normal-ass name. It also gives them one less name change to justify. Like, they don't even go to "Bumblebee", B-127's just "B", so yeah, I think "Elita One" from "Ariel" would have been hard.
Bee is... annoying, but tolerably so. He's like the little brother mom said you had to take along, but little brother is actually trying to behave.
Obviously, we couldn't see much of the Elite Guard (ie Proto-Decepticons) without utterly shattering pacing, but I wish we could have seen more of Starscream, Shockwave, and Soundwave. Like, I didn't really get the impression that these guys were as powerful fighters as they were supposed to be, given that the quartet was easily able to keep up with them, but it's a minor quibble.
Shockwave is such a wimp though, it's funny. It's implicit that this man is a nerrrrdddd.
And no Soundwave boob goblins. :(
In other missed chances, when D-16 said that if he could transform, he'd turn into a shovel to beat Pax with, they could have gone with the good ol' "gun and shoot you" for a G1 reference.
Overall, though, very good. Does for Optimus and Megatron what (as far as I can tell, I never watched it, only heard about it from fans) the Clone Wars does for Anakin and Obi-Wan. Like, you know in many modern continuities they were friends, but now you *know*.
Worth the ten year development hell. :D

It's an aggravating thing that bad friend Scott only works without context. Every example in auntie Scott can give falls apart wants to contacts of the situation gets involved. And anytime a defense squad member points that out they claim we're making up excuses.
Tumblr media
A member of the Sterek fandom recently argued with me, saying that "You can't be racist toward a fictional character." This is ludicrous, of course: literature, cinema, and television are full of characters to whom the audience reacted with animosity because they were the "wrong" race. Take the rage of the certain people in the last few years about Ariel the mermaid being played by someone who wasn't white, or Arondir in the Rings of Power, or Mary Jane Watson in the MCU version of Spider-Man. These are absolutely fictional characters.
They don't think they're being racist. Or, more precisely, they can't admit to themselves that race is playing a role in how they react to a fictional story. When it comes to the Teen Wolf fandom, this is at the heart of the people who hate Scott. It always ends up, when those people are brave enough to give actual reasons, that they hate him for things for which they not only forgive Derek, Peter, Stiles and Theo but for things they have also celebrated on occasion. What makes them hate Scott makes Any White Male Character interesting.
For example, take one of their favorite 'reasons' to hate Scott -- the final scene of Magic Bullet (1x04). They think Scott is a terrible person for even suggesting that Derek's family, including children, deserved to burn, though that's not actually what he said.
Scott: So - What makes you so sure that they set the fire? Derek: 'Cause they're the only ones that knew about us. Scott: Well, then - They had a reason.
Now, a point they have to forget is that neither the audience nor Scott at that time knew there were children in there. That won't be revealed until Chris says it in Code Breaker (1x12), eight episodes later. They don't care that Scott has just spent an episode breaking into the Argent home for a bullet that saved Derek's life or at least arm. They don't care that Scott is looking at a werewolf put into a coma by a family he just stole from! But even as they successfully twist his panic into Scott celebrating the death of innocent children, they are busy purposefully forgetting the context of other scenes.
Like Stiles accusing Derek of murdering Laura out of jealousy in Second Chance at First Line (1x02) two episodes earlier. Stiles didn't know the murder victim is Laura, of course, either.
Stiles: Okay, just so you know, I'm not afraid of you. Okay, maybe I am. Doesn't matter. I just wanna know something. The girl you killed - she was a werewolf. She was a different kind, wasn't she? I mean, she could turn herself into an actual wolf, and I know Scott can't do that. Is that why you killed her?
This, to the fandom, is banter. And that's not counting Stiles's jibes at Derek through that entire episode while Derek is dying. But Stiles doesn't care that Derek is in trouble, does he?
Stiles: All right. What happens if Scott doesn't find your little magic bullet? Hmm? Are you dying? Derek: Not yet. I have a last resort. Stiles: What do you mean? What last resort? Oh, my God. What is that? Oh, is that contagious? You know what, you should probably just get out.
To them, this is not a shocking degree of callousness from Stiles in the face of blood and death, similarly to how Scott's insensitive words are an attempt to make sense of the world he finds himself; this is more banter.
And that's the point. When it comes to a 16-year-old newly bitten werewolf who has been told that very same episode that if he doesn't kill with the alpha, the alpha will kill him, saying that maybe his girlfriend's family needs a reason to kill him is an unforgivable degree of heartlessness. But when the 16-year-old who is only in danger because of his loyalty, who could go to his father for protection at any time, tells Derek to his face that Stiles doesn't care if he lives or dies, that's incipient romance.
What's the difference? If you strip context from it, we have two 16 year old boys who said insensitive things. The fandom treats the Latino one as if he's worthy of hate and treats the white one as if he's met his soulmate. With the context or without the context, there's only one way to interpret fandom's behavior.
BUT IT'S NOT RACISM.

Do any of your blorbos have a favourite meal? Or a favourite category of food?
I HIGHLY recommend giving your OCs (or ascribing to canon characters) relationships to food, as that also touches on relationships to family and culture, and even themselves.
Every single one of mine has pretty defined tastes.
Gowan (Blorbo Prime at the moment) has really broad tastes since he grew up poor, eating a lot of things wealthier people would think are pretty gross. His catastrophic rise to fame as a music star did not refine his palate. Maybe he hates certain things, but he always eats what's in front of him without a single complaint. His homeworld's cuisine is honestly pretty bland, but he still has affection for it, and he loves the more complex flavors of his boyfriend's homeworld's cuisine. He also likes the kinds of things you tend to find as street food. He will absolutely patronize the nastiest-looking hole in the wall places you have ever seen because they have one incredible dish.
Kell is a chef/baker and when he retires from adventuring, opens his own food cart in his fun island pirate setting. He doesn't need the profits, his considerable adventurer's fortune is hidden under a huge slab under a huge anvil he uses as a side table in his living room, so he just uses the profits to feed folks who need it. He likes sweet and savory meat dishes, sweet breads and rolls, cooks-in-dish things like paella, and nice hearty stew, and he dislikes almost nothing if it's prepared well.
Ariel likes classic Southern soul food, junk food, huge burritos, and his mom's incredible cooking (Iranian cuisine). Mage and demon hunter, moonlights (daylights?) at Penguin Hut, an ice cream shop. He's kind of just a big kid at heart, his tastes are basic, more expensive or experimental food is largely lost on him. He will eat all your garden tomatoes.
Boogie (Bougainvillea) is just a shop cat at Penguin Hut, but she's in a kids' talking cat game, so she's basically a person. She eats bugs and likes kibble, she likes the crunch, and is grossed out by warm-blooded prey because she wasn't raised by other cats who ate it. She has a french fry compulsion and loves ice cream -- Ariel has trouble keeping her out of the ice cream shop's coolers. She is a little bit gluttonous, and correspondingly round, but her many adventures and her daily run to the shop keep her very healthy.
There's more, but that's a lot. But yeah, get into food with your settings and characters. It says a lot about them and how they move through the world. It also introduced you to new concepts to try out!

Rereading the Scalding Sands event and seeing your post about Jamil's childhood friend got me thinking about it again, and I had some thoughts that are probably completely off-base but I had to somehow release them into the wild anyway, haha. I hope that's alright!
I think the most popular theory is that Jamil's friend is a twisted version of Iago, which makes a lot of sense considering his dynamic with Jafar and how iconic they are as a duo. That said, Iago has been referenced by the game in other ways (Jamil wanting a parrot as a pet, the Iago plushie for the guest room) which makes me wonder whether there's any other alternatives for who his friend might be...and the next characters that come to mind are Aladdin and Abu.
I find it really interesting that a lot of Jamil's childhood memories (hiding in the urn whenever in trouble, stealing the melon, haggling with merchants and running around the markets, etc...) seem to be direct references to specific scenes in Aladdin's first act (namely, stuff that happens during One Jump Ahead and the scene where he meets Jasmine) and that whenever he brings his friend(s) up it's usually within the context of getting up to some kind of mischief in the markets, which is something that (based exclusively on the source material) has a stronger association with Aladdin/Abu than it does with Iago. There's also that Bloom Birthday voiceline where he says one of his middle school friends would usually try to take his snacks from him, which also really reminds me of Abu, who gets several scenes where he's trying to steal or hog food in one way or another (the bread scene and the apple scene with Jasmine come to mind off the top of my head)
(.....Actually...the more I type this down, the more the little bits and pieces we know about his friend just start to sound like Ruggie..............I guess them getting along so well in the masquerade event makes a lot of sense, haha)
But in all fairness, I might be reading too much into it and forgetting something.....Still, I guess I was curious about other people's thoughts on the idea of twisted Aladdin or Abu as Jamil's friend. Does it sound plausible at all given what we know? Is it a theory that gets brought up often?
[Referencing this post!]
Tumblr media
I think it’s possible to reference a Disney character in the lore while also having a Twisted counterpart appear in the world of Twisted Wonderland itself! For example, we hear a lot about the mermaid princess of legend (Ariel), but we also know that Rielle (presumably Twisted!Ariel) exists. This is the case for many other characters as well, from side characters to the main cast itself.
I'm under the impression that most people think Jamil's middle school friend is Twisted!Iago, but that's mainly due to Jafar and Iago being such an iconic duo in the Aladdin movie. I personally haven't really thought about it much beyond that because I just really want Jamil to have a shitty sidekick 😂 I admittedly have a weakness for that kind of a dynamic, so in my heart I was praying and hoping hard for Iago to become canon when I first played through the Scalding Sands event! I went back to reread some parts of the event and the vignette mentioned but 🤔 I only saw Najma mention the "middle school friend" once in 3-11, though it wasn't in context to being up to mischief. It seemed to just be a remark that she, Jamil, and that friend hadn't been to the market together for a long time. In the other scenarios where Jamil was being mischievous, there didn't seem to be a mention of that friend. For example, when Jamil almost set the fruit stand on fire and when he hid in an urn, he seemed to be acting alone. For the latter situation, Jamil was specifically hiding from his parent, not up to trouble with the middle school friend. In Jamil’s Yasmina Silk vignettes, silk melon vendor does mention that Jamil (alone) once swiped fruit from their stall, but Jamil reminds him that he just didn’t have money that day. He paid the vendor back by wrapping money up in a scrap of paper and placing it with a melon rind.
A lot of the activities that Jamil gets up to as a kid are references to the things that Aladdin has done, but I actually didn’t see an instance where the lone middle school friend was implicated to be a part of Jamil's antics. The best I could find was that Jamil mentions having friends (plural) that he detoured through the Camal Bazaar with (in Yasmina Silk vignettes and voice lines). In the vignettes, Jamil says “things happened”/stayed vague about other events that happened in the market, but Trey teases him by bringing up the instance when Jamil (alone) stole from the fruit vendor. Even if Jamil’s middle school friends were cited to have been involved, Jamil mentions multiple friends; there’s no way to confirm it was the specific friend that Najma brought up during the event itself. I think that story was shared less to drop lore about the middle school friend and more about showing the contrast between the freedom Jamil had back in middle school versus how he is in present day, bound by his duties to the Asims; he talks about how he experienced a lot of things during that period, including arguing with and ignoring his friends sometimes (which seems like a very normal friend thing to do, I could see this going either way since Jafar never got along with Aladdin or Abu, and even butted heads with Iago sometimes).
I believe the Broom Bloom Birthday voice lines are like... the most recent example of the friend was mentioned. Heck, it might actually be the only other time that friend is mentioned. It came to us quite a while after the initial release of the Scalding Sands Fireworks event (and in a far more limited place), so it may have been overlooked. This detail (of stealing Jamil's snacks) does lend some credence to the Aladdin or Abu theory; I don't think Iago was that eager to eat the crackers offered to him by the Sultan in the movie 😂 But I think it’s also possible (given that Jamil mentioned he had many middle school friends) that he could be talking about a different friend??
It’s possible that the middle school friend was characterized in other lines or stories (there’s a lot of them out right now, and I can’t possibly comb through them all), so there may be details I overlooked 😅
In any case, TWST didn't give too many specifics about one specific middle school friend so there's enough plausible deniability that they could be some other Twisted character, not exclusively just Twisted Iago. I think you brought up a lot of interesting points about the potential for that friend to be a Twisted!Aladdin or a Twisted!Abu! 👁 It's not a theory that I feel like I've seen all too often, so it definitely offers a new perspective and makes me excited to hear other thoughts and theories! ... Now I want to see more of Jamil and Ruggie interacting with each other--

BOOK REC
Exodus 20:3
by Freydís Moon - find them on Twitter, Instagram, and TikTok
the storygraph link for this book contains information such as page count, publication date, and community-created content warnings.
Tumblr media
Exodus 20:3 is a standalone love story centered around Diego, a Mexican-American trans man, and the relationship he forges with a Brazilian angel named Ariel as they refurbish an abandoned church in New Mexico together. It’s a beautiful blend of queerness and religious eroticism that comes in at around 100 pages on my Kindle edition, and has been recently updated with a new cover (see above) that is absolutely gorgeous. There is prayer, body worship, divinity kink where the divinity is no fantasy, hemipenes, and more eyes and teeth and wings than humans are used to experiencing in their love affairs. I absolutely loved it.
A note about body terminology for trans readers: Diego’s genitalia (he has had top surgery but not bottom surgery) is referred to using feminine terms such as “cunt” and “clit.” Some trans readers might find this dysphoria-inducing or otherwise upsetting.
Diego is what many people would call “troubled.” He does camming out of desperation for money, has recently quit using opiates illegally, and is struggling to deal with his mother’s disappointment once she found out about the latter through Diego crashing a car and getting sent to jail once the cops found said opiates inside the car. Basically, he’s not having a fun time as the family disappointment, so he reluctantly agrees to his mother’s plan for him to earn enough to pay her back for his bail money via refurbishing the church in New Mexico.
Ariel is the church’s caretaker. Diego is attracted to him from the jump, but that attraction is tempered with the wariness of a prey animal who has been hunted down and abused one too many times. Diego isn’t used to tenderness or genuine love from his sexual partners, and he isn’t interested in getting mixed up with someone and used in ways that don’t make him happy in the long term. I really loved how complicated Diego is—he’s tough as nails because the world hasn’t treated him gently, but also desperate for real affection because of how love-starved he’s become over the years.
Ariel isn’t smothering when offering that affection, nor parental in caring for his new laborer. Initially, he comes across as enigmatic and perfunctory, reclusive and emotionally distant. But as he insists on digging into Diego’s past, so too does Diego start putting the pieces together and realizing that Ariel isn’t quite the man he seems. During their first sexual encounter with each other, consent is kind of iffy, but it gets talked about later between the characters. The sex scenes are lavish and drawn out, abstracted by Freydís’ beautiful prose into things elegantly rendered yet primal in their intensity.
The writing in this novelette is exquisite, by the way. Freydís has a command of language that I’m nakedly envious of, and there were multiple points where I stopped to re-read certain passages just to savor the taste of them, as well as the beautiful wordplay and turns of phrase. I keep a list on my phone of 1-2 sentence snippets I read in various places that are too good not to write down, and that list gained several entries from this book.
Finally, I really liked Exodus 20:3’s frank discussions of trauma and oppressive systems. As a Mexican-American, Diego is no stranger to the violence constantly forced upon brown bodies by the United States government, and as a trans man he’s equally familiar with transphobic violence from cis people. Although Freydís makes absolutely zero attempts to gloss over or divert attention from real-world issues inherent to their characters’ identities, nothing ever felt hopeless. Diego is initially very cynical, but as his relationship with Ariel evolves so too does he undergo a change of heart toward the nature of faith. You can get a side of religious philosophy with your steamy monster fucking in this book, if you choose to accept it.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and cannot recommend it enough to anyone who’s in the mood for queer Latino romance stories. I can say with confidence that nobody who chooses to pray at Freydís’ altar will be left unsatisfied.

Seeing Ulyana and Halle’s Ariel made me think of ocs for their sons in the Descendants franchise
Tumblr media
Urchin, the son of Ulyana. Just like his mom, he’s wicked, scary, and loves to stir up trouble. I imagine he’d have a rivalry with Red cause I’m fairly sure Ulyana is the reason the Queen of Hearts is evil. You know when it comes to the Little Mermaid characters, these guys gotta have some serious pipes, and Adrian Lyles is an amazing singer, and I bet he can pull off being evil. I bet he’d wear black, silver, and pink. His hair would either be silver or pink. His relationship with his mom…I bet he’d either wanna be just like her or completely hate her. He can also transform into a Cecaelia, of course
Tumblr media
Aaron, the son of Ariel and Eric. Roman Banks voice is incredible! He could definitely deliver Halle some Justice. He would be kind, free-spirited, and rebellious with a thirst for adventure. Aaron is just like his mother, but instead of wanting to explore the sea or the surface, he would want to explore the Isle of the Lost. He would have a strained relationship with his dad because of Eric’s desire to protect him from the villains on the Isle, like Ursula. His mother would be more understanding since she was the same way. He’d have natural red hair like his mom and would wear colors like red, blue, and green. He can also transform into a Merman, of course

It was true, he never hated River, he just got increasingly frustrated over the years. At everyone including himself.
Stellar was quietly observing the interactions of everyone. She had a gentleness and fondness to her eyes, she was just glad a lot of the tension was gone.
Stellar's family was her top priority to be friends with. And it would be really hard to get close to any of them when there was so much disagreement. And on the fact she didn't want to see anyone sad or left out.
Plus she wanted her options on fighting partners open when she finally got to train!
Armonius looked over to River on her slip up, his eyes went a little less harsh as she spoke.
"You can call me by my nickname" it wasn't crossing any boundaries. He heard her out, and sighed, trust was something that would be slowly earned to every party here. While Armonius didn't have it, he didn't doubt River was trying to ease the friendship.
"I was an angry, hormonal teenager. We can all start fresh and invite Stellar in on this" the healing goddess just smiled, she felt warm and welcomed.
"And I can tell you some Angel history because holy shit you got in SO much trouble with this spark thing you guys have on this one" Armonius smacked the back of Rith's shell with one of his wings. Forcing the turtle to stumble one step forward as the god of Spirits lead the way to the dfac.
"Spark thing?" Stellar asked as she continued to travel next to Mizu and River.
"Yeah. I don't know if the turtle side of the family has an official name for it yet. But it's the thing Rith shared with mom over the bond" Armonius reminded his sister. Stellar's eyes narrowed in concentration, and then widened when she remembered.
"Ooooh. Oh yeah!" So it was called a spark? Kind of fitting since a cybertronian heart was also named a spark.
.
.
Ariel stiffened for a moment in confusion, but the moment she realized it was Mikey she relaxed. Holding onto one of his arms out of instinct and looked around in confusion.
Striker was amused at the turtle but also observed her cousin. She looked very disoriented, trying to figure out how she got outside. This wasn't good.
"SPIRIT!" Striker did NOT look happy, pink aura starting to engulf her body.
Moments later the ultimate God of death appeared before her. Calmly observing Striker, then taking in the scene.
"How close is the pet?" Striker was growing nervousbess under the surface of her anger.
"He's still months away, why?"
"She was radiating chaotic energy, and under a spell. Like a curse!" Striker explained.
"Spirit.... Are we going to be a danger to our family in this fight?!" He wasn't even that close, and he was controlling Ariel. He didn't even have a curse on her, no one should be able to control a God. What WAS this thing?
@darkness-to-redemption
Opposites Attract
“Careful, you idiot.” Leonardo snarled at his youngest brother. “They’ll hear you, scatter and I’ll have to chase them all around the city.”

Hey guys!
As I promised, here’s another post about Ariel! Today I’d like to talk more about his personality and share the details of the secret project! Drum roll, please… I’m writing a novel! It’s my first time writing a fully original story so I’m really excited! But I have to be honest with you. It’s not my main project for now. I’m graduating high school next year so I need to focus on my education. The story is processing slowly but this gives me the time to think about what I want the message to be. So stay tuned!
~
Alright let’s talk about Ari!
Ariel a gentle soul even tho he’s been through a lot. He’s an animal lover, and there’s nothing that warms his heart more than the company of creatures big and small. Whether it’s a chirping bird or a shy woodland critter, Ariel’s got a soft spot for them. He’s a bit of an introvert, and is quiet but opens up once he gets to know someone. He gets excited over little things and talks about them a lot when he feels comfortable enough. Ari gets furious when someone destroys the forest and he can be a bit overprotective. He can be a bit too naive and overly trusting. It’s not that he’s unaware of the world’s complexities; it’s just his genuine belief in the goodness of others. Sometimes, he doesn’t quite grasp the nuances of human interactions, and sometimes trusts the wrong people, easily getting himself into trouble.
Ari loves cuddles, he’s like a big puppy. He’s very observant, and always aware of his surroundings, probably because of what happened to him in the past. He tends to retreat into his own thoughts, finding solace in the quiet corners of the world. Shyness is his middle name, and while he might not be the life of the party, his genuine, kind-hearted nature shines through in quieter, more intimate moments. Ariel’s gentle spirit, however, is often misunderstood by those who judge solely on appearances. His exterior, a blend of dragon and human, carries an imposing air that contradicts the tender soul beneath.
In conclusion, he’s a sweetheart, who’s trying to find his place in the world.
That's all for today!
Love

I - The Desert
Among the earliest memories I have in my life come from here, from this desert and the Navajo reservation.  Sunlight always finds its way here, whether in a straight line path or through a film of turbulent dust.  In the day the sun cooks the ground; during the night the clear skies freeze it.  On top of these factors, the desert also gives a sense of solitude, as looking as far as the eye can see presents nothing and no one to you, only the endless scrub brush, the cactus, maybe an animal or two.  Never evidence of people, though, you have to search to find the people.
If anyone had been searching, they would have found my mother here in August of 1980, in the throes of childbirth.  Shanee Vibria, my mother, had lived in this same house since her girlhood, had lived a simple life, had stayed true to her faith and her people by remaining here.  Now she was still here, giving birth in her house to a child whose father was nowhere to be found.
She told me from time to time about my father.  Apparently his name was Julian Vibria, a passing traveler in the midst of the Arizona winter, and his vehicle broke down outside her house.  Considering that the nearest mechanic was miles away in the nearest city, walking was not a solution for him to get where he was going, and so my mother offered him shelter.  He stayed for six days, during which time they fell in love.  She always said if she figured right, the night before he left I was conceived.  When she discovered she was pregnant with me, she took his name as a sign both of how much she would love me and how much she loved him.
Being alone and pregnant in this environment would probably be a horrifying prospect to most people, but to my mother it was just an extension of everyday life.  She continued her business all through her pregnancy, climbing up and down the canyon back there, in communication with the others at its base, trading and tending to her property.  You must understand living out here breeds a whole different kind of woman, one which does not allow terrain, circumstances, or any other factor to get in their way.  In many ways, I wish I had been more like her, earlier in my life.
She tried to call a midwife when she went into labor, but as was prone to happen on her property the phone line had been blown down and pulled away from her house.  Resourceful woman that she was, though, my mother found an alternative.  She had an emergency flare gun left to her by her father that she tended to keep in one of the kitchen drawers for just such an incident.  I can only imagine, after having a child of my own, what it must have been like for her to be in the middle of labor and having to locate this gun, make her way outside, and fire it off into the air.  I had enough trouble with my own labor in a more controlled environment; I couldn’t possibly imagine doing what she did.
The gun served its purpose, as a distress call to her trading partners in the bottom of the canyon.  Two hours later, a female friend who just that afternoon had been trading produce with her was at her bedside, helping her bring me into the world.  This friend, who I later came to know as Aunt Irene, stayed with my mother until a week after I was finally born, helping her around the house and trying to ensure she was going to be all right before leaving us alone again.  Aunt Irene was the first person in the world to cradle me in her arms, when I was born on August 26th.  I have a special place in my heart for her, despite how little I saw her as a child, and even less as an adult.
Being that, again, we were in the midst of the desert, it took a while for the state to record my birth, and then it was only when I was old enough to handle the brief car ride to the closest city hall.  My mother always told me of the relief she had in acquiring my birth certificate, and in giving the clerk the name she had chosen for me.  My mother named me “Ariel” because of her interest in astronomy, and also because she always thought of it as a beautiful name, one that no one on the Navajo reservation typically had.  When she was asked for a surname she gave me my father’s, the one she had taken for herself, “Vibria,” and saved her original last name of “Begay” for me as a middle name.  I have worn all three names with pride all my life.  To me, my first name represents my mother’s love; my middle name, the strength of my people; my last name, the greatest love my mother has ever known.  I bear my current name with pride as well, for to me the name “Sharpe” represents the greatest love I or any other woman on this earth has ever known or had the honor to have, a love that has transcended powers beyond human imagination, even death.
Mainly as a child my best friend was my mother, possibly because she was the only one I had to play with.  The desert’s isolation surrounded us together, so I felt at times like we were part of a secret sisterhood, away from the rest of the world, free to live how we chose to and enjoy nature’s beauty in our own way.  From time to time, some of my mother’s trading partners, my “aunts” and “uncles,” would come to our house to conduct business, and every so often they would play with me as well.  Some of them liked to play more than others, and of course Aunt Irene was always a special guest, but I always felt more comfortable with just my mother.
Above all else, I grew to love and respect the nature that surrounded me, the desert and the canyon.  The wind breathed into my lungs an appreciation of my home; the sky reached over me like a helpful friend, always granting me an umbrella of blue; the plants and the earth supported me, made me feel one with the land; and the canyon itself was a magnificent companion.  At times as a young child, I wanted as much of nature to absorb into me as possible, and so I would awaken early and go out into our yard without clothes, watch the sun rise, and feel the pulse of the earth pass straight through me.  These are some of my happiest memories of growing up, although many of them end far too soon because of my mother’s worry for my well being.  Were I as … “gifted” … as I am now back then, there would have been no reason for her panic, so in a way when I look at Alanna and watch her play in the very same yard where I used to commune with the spirits of the earth, I feel like I’m granting her a freedom I didn’t have, without the need to worry like my mother did.
My education came as a surprise to me.  Being that we are in such a desolate place, away from most people who have children, it was difficult for my mother to find a school for me to attend.  She had heard of people homeschooling, but felt she was far from qualified to do it herself, so the search began for a suitable school for me to attend.  We finally found a public school that was willing to allow her to enroll me, despite living outside of the district’s boundaries, and soon I was attending kindergarten.  It was there that I started realizing exactly how isolating our existence was.
Every student looks forward to recess in elementary school, a chance to stop thinking about learning and just play.  Like most kids, I liked to play as well, but I had never been able to play with children my age.  Being such an innocent I came to the playground eager to make friends, but I found that this school, which had mostly non-Navajo students, was not quite as welcoming as I thought it would be.  It all became crystal clear to me one day while waiting for swings: while waiting to take my turn, a taller white boy named Jason Grant shoved his way past me.
“I was next!”  I started crying.  And to my disgust, this kid starts laughing at my tears and calling me names.  I knew what would have happened were it my yard, with my mother there, she would have come over and comforted me, hugged me and told me it was all right.  When I approached a playground monitor about it, all she did was check me for injuries, give me a tissue and tell me not to cry anymore.
I think at this point my social isolation really started.  I wanted nothing to do with these barbaric animals, who took pleasure in the emotional pain and tears of their fellow child.  That evening at home, I announced to my mother that I did not want to go back to school.
“Why not?”  My mother’s voice was calm and quiet, as usual.
“They don’t like me there, mama.  They cut in lines, they laugh at me, when I cry they laugh more.  I don’t like school.”
My mother, thinking it the typical problem young children have when first going to school, tried to console me.  “It’ll get better, little Ariel, just give it some time.”
I looked up at her.  “Why can’t I stay here?  Why do I have to talk to people?”
This must have shocked my mother.  She pulled me into her lap, still as preternaturally calm as ever.  “You can’t avoid people forever.  If I had done that, do you think Aunt Irene would have come to help me when you were born?”
I sniffled.  “But Aunt Irene is nice, she’s not a bully kid.”
“Yes she is, but why do you think she came in the first place?  She came because I knew her already.  I had been going to see her for years, dealing with the other people at the base of the canyon for years.”  She gave a wistful sigh at this point.  “If I had avoided all people forever, I would never have had you in my life.”
She clutched me tighter.  As a child, I didn’t understand what she meant, all I knew was that I needed comforting and all of a sudden my mama was crying.  Now that I reflect on it, perhaps the isolation had been getting to her already, and I was simply someone to have in her life, someone to love, someone who depended on her.  At the time, though, I misconstrued her words to mean that she had met everyone because she had been so isolated, and as a result I withdrew further into myself as classes continued and I advanced through all the levels of schooling.  My childhood then became this act of isolation, creating a social desert that matched the physical desert that we lived in as a family that comforted me.
That night, after my mother went to bed, as the chill of night started to descend upon the yard and the canyon, I stepped outside and out of my clothes to commune with the desert again.  I could almost hear the wind, reassuring me, telling me that the land would always be my friend, the wind always my companion, the sky always my shelter.  The chill of the night pierced my small body, surrounding me in the swirling dust of the desert, the only kind of embrace I wanted from anyone other than my mother.
