History of Benedict:

Born 11 May 1758

His mother is from the Netherlands, and her father is from Ireland, he has a younger brother and had a younger sister and they all lived in Ireland.

He learned Dutch and French as well as English as a child

Joined redcoats when he was 17, but was sent home from a gunshot wound (this is where the treason comes in) and doesn’t return, instead sailing to the colonies and joining in their cause (at 18) 😁

He got close with a couple soldiers (Francis Jacobs, John Laurens(?), and a couple more as his close friends) [Ham if it’s not redcoat au]

His younger sister passed away in infancy when he was 8 and his brother 3, and he still is upset about it to this day, wishing that she could have grown up with them.

He plays viola, likes to write poetry, drawing or writing in his journal, reading, sewing, and talking to his friends around the fire :)

He is bi and demisexual (forget labels back then 😁)

I haven't made a new oc design in a while, and this might be one of my first ocs that I'm obsessing over 😳

For this oc, I wanted Aria (the orchestra-inspired girlie) to have an older sibling and this took me several attempts to finalize the overall design of his outfit and appearance. Mainly his design, as you guess it, is a hybrid of piano components mixed with guitar components.

Meet Amadeus, the older brother, the composer, and the one and only marching band conductor! He can be seen as a menace, but he's a lot softer and kinder than he looks. Often quiet, Amadeus has been majoring in music production and was self-taught to conduct at a young age. He can be serious at certain times, and in other cases, can be a very well-oriented gentleman. :)

Fun Canon Stuff!!

He's about a few years older than Aria (about 3-4 years older)

Was supposed to be androgynous, but changed to having male attributes

An organised collective of ex-soldiers from Octavio's army, all with one goal - To show all these surface-dwelling inklings what's what!!

As long as they have their harsh techno sounds and funky grooves, nobody can stop them! These tunes are headed for world domination!

MEET THE SQUAD!

AMANA (she/her) - the bassist. tired and moody.

-Amana fondly remembers her years in the army with her fellow troops as they fought around the time in the first game. In the aftermath of the calimari inkantation however, there was a massive rise in escapees, fugitives and rebels who revolted against Octavio. Amana's team was tasked with capturing/suppressing this resistance, but one by one, as they dealt with rebel groups, Amana lost all but one of her friends - whether that be to the conflict or joining the crowd.

-Eventually staying in the army was too much for her, so she too headed to the surface. despite her internal resentment and loyalty to octo society, she was keen to start a better life, and that would start with her music.

-Amana is kinda like that emo war veteran in those action movies idk

KURUMA (he/him) - the drummer! Foul-mouthed and rebellious

-he's a bit of a crazy goofball who likes the idea of breaking the rules but doesnt have all of the guts to follow through with it

-he was enlisted as an aoctoling soldier alongside his bff (and crush) Hokkia - his friend would made up for the guts he didnt have so they both worked as a duo as troublemakers

-some time After the events of the first game Hokkai was reported missing whilst on a patrol. Upon hearing this, Kuruma volunteered to help search for him. After 2 months Kuruma was left as the only one still looking for him- one day Kuruma had gone out and searched for Hokkai for so long that he had been separated from his fleet and also reported missing. From there he had to find his way up to the surface in order to survive and continue looking

-once kuruma reached the surface, he resorted to making a living off of his percussion skills, which he used to practice alongside Hokkai. Due to these memories he was very passionate about his playing, which allowed him to make a living out of busking for a while until he met Amana, Moyebi and Caramote 

(Hokkai was actually captured and sanitized by Tartar but Kuruma hasnt found this out yet)

CARAMOTE (they/them) - The chill, confident guitarist

-Octocommander

-moyebi's closest friend. Gives them advice and stands up for them

-they can come off as very sassy and bitchy to strangers but supports their bandmates till the end

-never wanted to be in the army but were pressured into it due to their good tongue-guitar skills which allowed them to use commander weapons

-they always had a secret obsession with the surface and its customs - From the trendy clothes to the inkling's freedom of expression. Caramote was sick of following orders, and wanted to use their tongue not for shooting, but for playing sick guitar licks. The only thing keeping them around was Moyebi, who depended on them. But after the mass exodus caused by the inkantation, they were ready to get out of there. They convinced Moyebi to come along and together, they started a new band and a new life on the surface.

MOYEBI (she/they) - The singer/leader of the band! Sweet, but nervous...

-They served behind the lines in the octarian army as a mechanic for weapons and armour making

-whilst friendly and well-meaning, they often come off as awkward and lack self-confidence in their music and engineering

-They created a metal suit to emulate a humanoid body, and use it to create more of a stage presence. Although she feels more confident in it, Sometimes she feels like she relies on it too much to try and fit in.

-After experiencing the calamari inkantation, she couldn't help but be inspired and embrace a passion for singing. Her new dream was to sing and dance much like the squid sisters had done, but the only way she could acheive such a dream was by escaping to the surface, which was NOT about to do any time soon. The thought of leaving the comfort of her home terrified her. She had to be dragged along in an escape by her best friend, Caramote, before seeking out a new life outside the army.

Miew♡ - she is my first catman oc! she’s young so her personality is very bubbly and sweet plus being playful, Luther found her wandering about in the woods

Archie ☼ - my dogman oc, he’s resembles a golden retriever and is very playful! I had the silly idea of Luther not liking him very much because he’s more of a cat person

Scout is one of my older OC's.... I've had her since collage, she isn't my oldest but she is one of my older OC's that has kinda just stayed consistent she comes from a world of Angels, Demons and the civilians within Purgatorio, each demon species is broken into different gangs of Purgatorio Scout, and her 2 older siblings are grandchildren of Asmodeus the leader of the demons of LUST

I need to flesh out more of the story for Scout, even if she's one of my older OC's, i just never felt like fleshing out her story as much as others, cause i find her more fun to draw over everything

Occupation: Witch

I can literally see her in my mind but I can't draw her. [*Screaming Internally*]

Appearance: Long brown hair with streaks of grey. Usually worn in a bun or single braid.

Dark Green eyes

Tan skin mottled in scattered scars and burns

6'2 and lean muscle

Color Palette: Green, black, grey, maroon

Likes: Candy, Oranges, Fantasy novels, Poetry, Coyotes, cats, cooking

Dislikes: Loud Noises, being interrupted, Deep Water, the number 27

My editor and I spend sooooo much time working on encorporating consequential feasibility into the worldbuilding of the novel, because both of us have such a strong biological science background that it feels too flat when the answer to anything is just "magic" without supporting lore or research, or characters having monster-like fantasy features without it being truly part of their existsnce. So, we want to showcase strengths and limitations routed in real biology to create a more unique worldbuilding and magic system.

This has led to so many really cool aspects of the characters and worldbuilding that I am creating, so I wanted to share some snippets of this with you guys:

The moth-type fae species:

Moths don't have bones, but humans do. So to create a humanoid moth fae species, I drew a fuck-ton of anatomy sketches and really thought through the movement and practicality. To be humanoid with wings, four arms, and actually able to fly, it would require some unique evolutionary adaptations that should be part of the characters.

Hollow and light bones similar to birds

Expansion of muscle groups on the shoulders and back, which would also mean muscle groups that would wrap forward around the ribs and down the spine, resulting in a more broad upper body than lower body.

Significantly more tendon attachments and small muscle groups to allow quick movement, including on the wing arches that would make them thicker than an average moths.

Wingspan of at least twice the height of the character in question

They couldn't be super hairy, because that would create too much drag. Fairies and elves are often depicted as hairless on their bodies, but since the moth aspect of them is important to keep the theme for, the fur would be heavy on the neck and shoulders and down the back between the wings to cushion the wing-beat friction against the skin, and on other parts of the body it would be more decorative and varied (like dense fuzzy diamond shaped patches on the chest, happy trail, top of feet, and back of hands) and since the fur on moths isn't sexually dimorphic, both sexes would have the same fuzzy features.

Even with all biological adaptations, this would not result in successful flying without the use of magic, so the species in question would have to utilize a form of air magic to support flight, or it would be extremely strenuous to do.

Now, let's look at that under a lens of limitations and differences in the world that a character of this species would encounter:

The wings are fucking HUGE. It would mean they would have to be very careful to avoid breaking things. Things in their homes and environment would have to be significantly bigger to support comfortable movement. No clutter, very large beds, furniture made larger and with no sharp corners, chairs that would need armrest cutouts or low backs, objects that would need to be weighted heavily to avoid getting knocked over.

Clothing would have to be backless, resulting in design choices being different to allow functionality while keeping high fashion. corsets would have to be lower-waist only, pants would sit lower on the waistline below the bottom of the wing attachments, since there are back cutouts or backless tops the front of the outfit would often feature high collars to offset the overall look and hold the clothing in place properly during movement and dancing.

Due to the large wings, it would be customary to fold in their wings when in crowded places to avoid being rude and hiting others.

The wings and body fur would face weaknesses like being difficult to move when soaked with water, and would be highly susceptible to fire as a weakness.

Not being able to use fire without risking getting burned badly from any accidents would mean the society would have to utilize other methods of cooking without open flame, or their entire diet would change.

Light bones and bodies mean more fragile bodies, and lighter weapons would be necessary for quick movements and to support a different fighting style.

Utilization of air magic would be critical to normal function. Not having magic would mean unable to move effectively when wings become a massive heavy disadvantage if you can't use them. It wouldn't just be a "hehe wow wind powers to fight with!" type of thing, it would be so ingrained in their lives for daily function.

Moths can't regrow their wings, so a loss of wings would be permanent. They would have to be thicker and highly vascularized to avoid constant damage, but even small injuries to wings would bleed A LOT.

I'm not sure I've got properly detailed descriptions of them anyways, so this was a good ask. I think I'll do more than two just to have more available to see, and then you can pick the ones ya like most, if that makes sense?

Dialtone: A tall, mostly humanoid robot. Her head's a screen of about a 3:2 ratio, and she typically displays some relevant symbol or expression on there. She doesn't like to have words on the screen, but it's technologically available. Clothing-wise she's got a purple tuxedo, white shirt, a bow tie that's whatever color looks nice for the art, and some quite standard shoes. She's not got any traits that in humans are examples of sexual dimorphism. She's fairly lanky, and her limbs as well as her neck have that sort of endlessly bendy and stretchy system you see quite often on fictional robots.

Alice: She along with Simon, Edmund, and Elizabeth are all an alien species called Thirlens. Some consistent traits to these are an entirely black, rather goopy looking body, ability to shift and contort pretty much however's convenient, and some degree of control over their physical size that has an increasing upper limit as they age. They've usually got one face, in a faintly glowing white, but if there's some manner of serious emotional conflict or turmoil or such there can be more. Thirlens tend to wear full body cloaks with a mask over the face (one mask regardless of however many faces there are, as well). Alice specifically has a light gray mask rather resembling that of a plague doctor, albeit in a firmer material. Think perhaps along the lines of plastic. Her cloak is more of a middle grey, and she's also got a wide brimmed, flat hat. Size-wise, she tends to be about the height of a standard human. You could look her in the eyes without much trouble.

Simon: He's a great deal taller than Alice, though I've never been much one for comparisons. He's taller than a lot of buildings, but there's a lot taller than him. His mask is a triangle, with triangular eyeholes. His greys are darker, with a trick I often do being to have his mask gray be Alice's cloak grey, thus ensuring an overall darker look while having a nice bit of consistency.

Hyacinth: This one's quite tall, though still within a very understandable range. Probably around 8-9 feet, though that's with a design featuring a lot of slouching. Their head looks rather like a video camera, with a long antenna coming off the back and ending in a red sphere. After the head there's two portions of neck leading to a very boxy body segment. Going down another step there's some rather complicated shaped sections working to make a curve between the body and the treds used for locomotion, which have a triangular cover/connecting piece. The arms hang down to just off the ground, the body is teal, and this one's complex enough I'll have to reblog with an art once I can just to have an example.

Nathaniel Robot: A scruffy looking caucasian man with generous hair both upon his head and upon his face, whitened by age. His clothing is typically a buttoned shirt and standard pants. Lived in the 19th and early to mid 20th centuries if that matters.

Targvenn: Quite tall, mostly in the neck. Reptile, with a very round snout and no tail. Bipedal. Mostly dark grey scales, with teal on his belly and throat. His eyes are in a matching color.

Flitzkel: A short, fuzzy creature. No arms, and legs that only barely reach out beyond the fluff. Four alternating stripes in black and yellow, with his eyes being in a yellow stripe at the second-highest.

Morf Dalilce: looks mostly human. Average height, brown unruly hair of about chin length. The inhuman aspects are blue skin, short orange horns, and a standard triangular demon tail with a chunk out, making a lopsided double triangle. They wear a tuxedo that, while once quite nice, has become quite worn, with a great many patched sewn on in a variety of colors. Smirks.

Crow: (Obviously the one with the crow mask on) I just thought it would be a cool concept to just have a cowgirl with a cool mask on. I’d like to think she gets introduced at a bar as shes talking to this one dancer. As they are talking some robbers break in and she asks if she wants to dance with her then a whole dance sequence happens as Crow is fighting off the robbers.

Xion: (the one in the middle) He was created because a friend of mine wanted to create ocs that were a couple. The more we got into drawing them the more stories we created. We decided to make them into a friends to enemies to lovers story. In their characters world they have powers so Xions power is to manipulate gravity

Val: (top right) I made Val a long time ago until I decided to change their design. I liked the initial idea of them having a scythe as their weapon so I kept that. Not much backstory I have for the character.

Oya: She is in the same universe as Xions. I don’t have much backstory on her but she helps get people around with her cloud hair. That why I tried to have her look like a pilot.

The Ringmaster: (Bottom left) I really don’t know why I created her it just came as an idea one day. She doesn’t have much backstory but she is more like a villain I guess. I wanted to emphasize her smile so it feels like when looking at her u get an eerie feeling.

(Top left): Unfortunately I don’t have a name for her. She was the most recent Oc Ive created but I do want her to be in the same universe as Xions.

Sacha: (top right) In her world there are living houses (thats why she has one in her hand). Honestly this idea came out of nowhere too but Sacha tries to find the secrets of why the houses are living and why her people are afraid of them.

Nephilia: (bottom right) Last oc ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ!! She is in the same universe as Xions. Her powers are basically anything a spider can do. So she can grow out 3 more arms whenever she wants to and from her finger tips she can create spider webs. She is has a crush on Xion but unfortunately Xions feelings are not reciprocated.

Will "Inhabit" Ryan (DAGames OC)

Will Inhabit, A maddened addict who once struck goldmine with seemingly infinite supply of diamonds, And with his newfound wealth he would found the largest drug empire one has ever seen, Diamond Armada.

Diamond Armada would end up developing extremely potent drug known as "DALove" Causing everyone influenced by it feel extreme need to praise and love him. Giving him total domination.

Will his supply of diamonds ever run out? Is there anything that can stop this addict and his mindless journey?
