Fools!Darlin: “Mhmm, I don’t think we’re close enough in our current relationship for that yet. But, I appreciate the offer :) ”

I’ve come up with ‘Taking Care of Your Irresponsible Freelancer’ as a faux foolsiverse video title - so my idea is that Sam dropped out of DAMN since his parents wanted him to be a healer but he wasn’t enjoying that lifestyle. And Darlin’ is a gentle healer who took after Marie (Or I guess Mr ‘Dad of the Year award’ Greer if we’re switching it up) and is a healer for the pack.

Sam gets into a fight with some people from the pack, on pack territory, and Darlin’s there to break it up - and ends up keeping an eye on Sam as a precautionary measure. Then, Sam gets into a car crash (this time it’s Sam driving with road rage, who hits, and kills, an elderly non vamp Alexis) and instead of going to jail - Darlin’ pulls a few strings a with friends from the department, and instead he gets put under their supervision.

It’s a bit of a ‘enemies to friends to lovers’ extreme slow burn situation because Sam hates the world and hates this younger werewolf who’s so clam and who he thinks is all stuck up (and is also a really good healer, everything Sam’s parents wanted him to be - so he has resentment towards them for that too). And then Darlin is just a really mentally healthy individual who wants to help Sam because ‘they see who he is in the inside, eyes are the window to the soul’ and all that.

It’s Sam cussing them out because they won’t leave him alone (he wants to go do self destructive activities) and Darlin just smiling and quietly following him regardless. It’s Sam snapping and saying “you’re not my guard dog” and Darlin being gentle yet firm when saying “legally, I am” because he’s supposed to be under their watch 24/7.

I need everybody and i mean EVERYBODY input on this matter...

What do we think Sam would be like if he was a part of the fooliverse...

So… Damien and Milo having a hand to hand, no powers, fistfight - what do we think?

Indeed I did!

Ahem,

Anton and his lover have to see each other through a screen but continue to yearn for each other despite this fact. We can assume Anton and his lover are long distance because of project meridian. Maybe it paid well, maybe the department needed to make this project more secure - but Anton had to leave his life behind for it. He had to give up his love for this project.

James and his spouse aren’t long distance, however there’s a disconnect between them. James comes home and can’t talk about what’s been draining him. Everyday a piece of him is chipped away because of the stress of project meridian, and his spouse, the person he’s engaged to, can’t know. Small details, sure, but nothing with enough importance that they’ll know why he comes home as a shadow of the man they once knew.

Anton and his lover are separated by a screen, but love each other despite the distance. Whilst James and his spouse can be close physically, but seem to be drifting further apart in their relationship.

Secondly, Anton has a mechanical technician job for the department while James has a higher power in his ownership position. Anton is in it, he does the check ups, he does the scans, he does a lot of the physical work on Asset. But James is more removed from their overall well-being. Sure, he refers to believing they are “someone, not something”, and in earlier videos cares about their creation of identity beyond Marcus. But that’s because their relation to Marcus is obstructing their primary goal. And their success, overall, is James’ success. Their goal, is James’ goal. James cares because if Asset doesn’t preform well, that reflects badly on him. Anton cares because he cares about the person Asset is, rather than their ability to achieve. He cares about the process of helping them, whilst James cares about the end result.

Point número tres: saviours. James saves Asset multiple times. James says the lockdown code, he takes away Marcus’ infection from Asset’s system. Even this new James is saving them from something we don’t know about yet. Now Anton, he isn’t saving anyone. He fixes things, that’s how he helps. His aid isn’t put onto this pedestal of superiority - it’s his job to help. While James’ job isn’t to help, it’s to maintain success. This ties into the last point, but Anton is kind and gentle because that is who he is, James is a saviour because he needs to be. They both need this project to work, but it’s the intention that matters.

When we see James, it’s the man who freed Asset from Marcus, when we see Anton, we think the gentle mechanic. They both help Asset, they both put their lives at risk for this project. But James is coming at this at a place of desperation - he needs this to work. To Anton, it may not be what he wants to do, but he has to take care of Asset. Project Meridian is Anton’s job, Project Meridian is James’ life.

I guess this is more juxtapositions than parallels but eh

Just the possibility that Anton and his spouse have a kid at home, and Asset reminds him of them.

Just doing a bit of thinking about Anton dreaming of being home, and playing with his kid - only for their image to blur with Asset’s in his subconscious.

Just wondering if maybe when he was checking on Asset after the first trial - maybe he was caring for them like a father for a child. And James taking them away felt like taking away his child. I wonder if maybe then he realised what exactly had been taken from him by working for project Meridian. I wonder what else he’ll lose to it.
