yeh no i’m ok. yeah i’m just thinking about rand saying “i love you man” to both kian and rolan. and when he said it to kian it was a reassurance, a wish of good luck, a small declaration hope that kian would come back in one piece after they split up. and when rand said it to rolan it was as he was running away from rolan, it was an apology for not being able to trust him, but it was a reassurance as well anyway, that he still loves him but he has to protect himself. rand loves his friends so so much and he’s always the first to say it. timothy rand is so so full of love and it might be hard to see but he shows it in everything he says and does. yeah i’m fine why are you asking

I think them going to pride together would be really funny bc Kian is so visibly queer omg. Let's talk about Adoption

So Kiane adopted Mertyl and it's pretty obvious that it's a kept secret and that only a few people know the truth. Which is fine, in adoption parents tend to keep it a secret until the child is ready and prepared to know the truth.

And here's the deal, if King and Diane were just a normal Fairy and Giant couple that's all they have to worry about, but that's not the case here. King is the well the King and Diane is the Queen, they're royals and I don't think the fairies would be too pleased to know that their first prince is actually a human oh and not just any human. The human that was switched with their actual fairy prince.

Realistically, if Kiane we're to have told Mertyl that he's adopted. He'll still be in same situation, probably even worse. Fairies are already on his case, questioning his relation to Kiane. "Are you really their kid?" "You don't look like them at all!" Just imagine if Mertyl being their adopted kid is common knowledge. Their quips would be worse and would hurt Mertyl more. Kiane is trying to protect Mertyl from this, that's why they kept it from everybody.

At least now, yes they say these things to Mertyl but they acknowledge him as their prince because that's what they've been told and that's how he acts. They're actually really cool with Mertyl it's just to them, Mertyl is weird looking. So, even if the truth were to come out it wouldn't matter to them cause yes Mertyl is human but he's still Mertyl he's still their prince.

Now, why didn't Kiane tell Mertyl anything even though it's been 18 years. Cause Mertyl isn't ready yet, I mean based on Diane's expressions she knows that this secret is long overdue but in a way they can't do it cause it'll only break Mertyl.

Mertyl has always been insecure about himself and Kiane is trying to make him feel secure, shower him with love and affection in the best ways they could so that even if the truth would come out Mertyl knows that his parents loves him literally no matter what.

And they've done this, as shown in Mertyl's flashback but Mertyl still feels the way he does.

In a world where Mertyl is secure in his place, that he knows the love that his parents, siblings and everyone has for him. There will be no conflict between him and Nasiens. In this world Mertyl would actually feel happy that Nasiens is at their doorstep and would actually help and guide Nasiens into learning about their true identity.

Unfortunately, that's not the case here.

Mertyl saw King gave the Drug of Yore to Nasiens. Now this scene is just filled to the brim with misunderstangs that my only hope is for Sixtus to use his brain and talk it out with his pops.

Mertyl felt betrayed at this moment. This is his worst nightmare came to life.

There's this medicine that in his mind can cure him, can help him and Sixtus reassured him saying that their father is a kinder King than anyone out there and he'll give it to him.

Notice the phrasing here, they know their father's responsibilities as King, they can differentiate between his two roles. Yes, he's their father and he'll do anything for them but he's also the Fairy King, a being that has immense responsibilities and power. They're aware that there are some things that he can't do for them because he's the Fairy King.

But there he saw, his father giving the very thing he came there to ask for to Nasiens just like that. This is the ultimatum for him, so he ran off. Without knowing the full truth behind his father's actions.

Then, we have Nasiens, I love you but baby you kinda messed up on this one. He just jumped to his assumption here.

When King gave the drug, Nasiens refused and claimed that he's rather cruel for letting him run around and make medicine for Percy and fail everytime for the past 2 years only to give this to him now and argued that he should have given it to Mertyl.

Granted, Nasiens doesn't know that Mertyl is human so I guess good on you for having Mertyl's back. But Nasiens you can't just assume these things without knowing the full story, let the man explain. Regardless of King's reasons (I already made a post about it check it out if you wanna know my thoughts) in my eyes he made the thoughest decision a father could ever make here.

At this very moment, King is letting Nasiens go.

King knows what Nasiens is here for and he knows that the moment Percy wakes up they'll leave. King and Diane have suspected and confirmed to themselves that Nasiens is their kid. But Nasiens doesn't really need them, he's fine, he has friends that cares for him, he has hopes and aspirations, he grew up to be such a great person. To King, seeing Nasiens the way they are now and being able to take care of him for 2 years and help him with his goal, that is more than enough. King is letting Nasiens go because he knows that Mertyl needs them the most.

And here's the thing, I have a huge feeling that King decided on this a long time ago, that's why he didn't explicitly tell Nasiens anything for 2 years. And look at King's face here, he seems content, happy even.

King is willing to let Nasiens go without even saying that he's their father, without saying that they're family, without a hug, without a good heart to heart, not even a chance to hear the word Father from them, without any closure. None of that. Because King chose Mertyl

King chose Mertyl despite the fact that he has finally found his firstborn

This is a sacrifice he's willing to make because that's how much King loves Mertyl

Thinking about bitb and how badly it all went. Like not even with the bugs, but just with the reunion. There was ten years of expectations for that reunion, ten years of waiting. Waiting for when they would meet again and everything would be:

The same as it was before, a bitter reunion, a homecoming.

Rand, Rolan, and especially Kian. All had very very different and strong ideas about how it “would” go. For Kian everything would be great again. With his best friends it would be like no time had passed. They could laugh and play dnd and surely they would listen to him about therapy and come visit him in Cali!

For Rand, it was a chance to get everything out in the open. To rip into Rolan for leaving him for so long. To show Rolan and Kian how fine he was, and how okay he was doing. They were going to regret leaving him.

And for Rolan, it was a goodbye. He didn’t want to be here, it would be quick. He would go to his parents funeral (and wish his friends would join him). He would play one last game of dnd and then never come back to this rotting town ever again. Maybe he would tell Rand off for being such a dick about him leaving. But that was it, it was going to be in and out.

And of course no one got what they wanted.

Thinking about Rand and Richie’s friendship and I’m going a little insane

Richie was Rand’s only friend in town, do you think after Kian and Rolan left Rand would just go to their old hang out spots and ran into Richie there? Bizly said that Richie was younger them then in high school and that he was known as a dork. Do you think the first couple of times Rand brushed him away because he was just so angry at being left behind? Do you think Rand ever sat at the docks, racking through his brain trying to think of what he did wrong and how he’s stuck in Galloway unable to do anything, knowing his parents are disappointed, knowing Rachel is gone forever, knowing his best friends may never come back, thinking he’s all alone in this town so he just sits overlooking the water smoking and trying to distract from how this is now his life?

Do you think when he finally opened up to Richie and offered him a joint or a cigarette Rand realized that he needed a friend? someone to sit in silence and smoking with? And as time went on he started looking forward to meeting up with Richie and hanging out with him, the Kian and Rolan sized hole getting more manageable to work and live with. Do you think Richie saved Rand from an early grave and gave him something to look forward to? Do you think Richie would listen to Rand talking about the D&D game and bounce ideas off of him? Do you think Richie ever made a character so that he could join in the game? Do you think Richie was the one who suggested reaching out to Kian and Rolan to finish the game because he knew how much the story meant to Rand?

Do you think Richie looked up to Rand as an older brother and do you think Rand thought of him as a little brother? Someone he could protect and be there for like he couldn’t for Rachel? Do you think when they were going to the Quick Mart he was excited to introduce Kian and Rolan to Richie more officially and have all of his friends hang out?

Do you think Rand stood there in that alleyway seeing Richie’s melting body in the alleyway after just seeing him 10 minutes ago and everything was fine but now it’s not and he has to live with the pain of knowing he couldn’t do anything to help?

day 10 - ritual

They're not quite sure when transcending became a longer process that took time, just that it did.

Over time, a quick 5 seconds became hours, and eventually Agatha began to order him out of the occult room and locking the door during her own transcending. For privacy, she says.

Dante… gets it. He thinks.

It is scary. You close your eyes, thinking that you're going to be gone for a few seconds, like always, and come back to see hours have passed. 3 hours here, 10 hours there, a whole night- it's disorientating at best. Vulnerable, for sure.

But they still don't know why. The best guess they have is Kian, but there's… nothing to work with, really.

He has gone through it, seen others do- but nothing other than that. It's not like they have the time to waste on this; Kian is still a danger and with the extension of the Ordo, there's always something more important to do.

But. There's time now. There's a reason to, now.

Carina says she doesn't want her family to ask questions. It's her first time dealing with any sort of ritual- she has no idea what to expect.

He has a reason now.

Dante draws the circle on the floor and slowly explains all he knows about the process- he answers every single question Carina asks. And there are… a lot of them.

She doesn't seem as anxious as-

…She doesn't seem to be as anxious as he imagined. Certainly, is less than anyone else would in her position.

And the questions are nice. Not just because he's confident about his knowledge in this; Carina is interested. Visibly, and that's… something new. The Ordo is… better about using the paranormal now, but to find someone so eager to learn about it isn't easy. It's nice.

She waits until he's finished, and when all is said and done, steps into the circle and sits down in the middle.

Dante… stares. She doesn't seem to be in discomfort, even with her furrowed eyebrows, just… focused, maybe.

He looks at the time - 14:06 - and gets his notebook out. Agatha will appreciate having some more information, and he himself wants to know more.

And Carina asked.

She asked. She asked him to keep watch over her, to be the one to explain it to her, and God, if that doesn't make his heart threaten to stop.

It isn't… it isn't like Jasmin.

Nothing- nobody will ever be like Jasmin.

But it's familiar.

He watched Jasmin transcend for the first time too; only then, he was way more stressed and way more close- the only reason he didn't hold Jasmin's hand was because she told him she'd be fine.

That wasn't like anything happening now.

He doesn't need to hold his breath and stare obsessively at anyone's chest to be sure they're breathing and still alive. There's no anxiety now. He knows how it works. It's a little longer, yes, but he knows that even if Carina was too weak (which she isn't), the only thing happening would be her being thrown out of the circle. She wouldn't die. There's no reason to worry. He knows how it works.

So he makes himself comfortable. Arthur is gone by now- he's not sure where, but Dante would know if anything happened, so he's not too worried.

One last look at the door; he might need to get water or some food from the kitchen later, depending on how long this'll take. But leaving Carina alone isn't what he's going to do, especially not when she just started.

Dante grips his pen and starts writing.

Kinktober Day 28 & 29 Lap Dance & Masks/Costume (ME:A AU Reyes/F!Ryder) Mature

Tartarus was deliberately low-lit, that way what was done in the shadows could stay there- and whatever deals were made could be covered by the dancing and the music. And compared to other clubs, it treated its girls pretty well. Or at least Reyes tried to make sure they were, he was under no illusions as to what kind of business, legal or otherwise, he was running but he didn't care.

Walking in, Reyes Vidal made sure the black domino mask was secure before glancing at the simple note that had been sent;

Meet me at Tartarus.

Mixing into the crowd of patrons with the mask, Reyes's eyes skimmed over the dancers- seeing them but on the lookout for one in particular. Then he spotted the bartender, Kian, and the other man gave a simple nod before jerking his head to the left; knowing what was going on and telling Reyes that she was already up there.

Reyes returned the nod and threaded his way through the crowd, where one dancer in particular was finishing up her time on one of the stages. Eyes raking over the black lace that covered her, he watched from the shadows as the gold masquerade mask with small crystals stood out against the black masks that most everyone here was wearing. "She always likes to stand out." he thought as the song finished and the dancer released her hold from the pole as her omni-tool started flashing with tips from the people watching.

Not moving, he watched as she stepped off the stage and spotted him- her steps faltering for just a second before she changed direction and headed towards him.

"The mask is a bit much though." he said once she was closer, loud enough that she could hear him over the music but any conversation they had was still covered by it.

Anna Ryder resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "I'll let the owner know, he's the one who told me to wear it. Looking for anything in particular?"

"Just a dance."

"Then you came to the right place. Here or upstairs?"

"Upstairs."

Anna led the way, past the VIP rooms- towards a small room that only a few knew existed. Once the door slid shut, she turned to face Reyes while letting a mischievous smile appear, "I did tell them to turn the camera's off."

"I don't think the owner would like that." Reyes replied in a rough voice as he hand snaked around Anna's waist, gently tugging her closer to him.

"I'll be sure to tell him." Anna near-whispered before pressing her lips against Reyes's in a brief kiss. Pulling back, she took Reyes's hand and pulled him to the small couch, "Sit."

"Oh?"

"You did want a dance. And I won't even charge my normal rate."

"Which is?"

"Too much for you."

Reyes chuckled at the comment while thinking, "If she only knew."

Anna pressed a button and the music got louder as she started to dance to it, tossing her head back and letting her red hair hand down like she knew Reyes liked. Feeling the burn of his eyes on her, she closed what little space there was between them and slid into his lap-settling for a second before starting to move and give him a lap dance.

Reyes closed his eyes and Anna started to grind against him, feeling his dick respond and start to harden. She arched against him and he let out a groan, it felt so good. Hands squeezing her waist, he jerked his hips up, hardening all the way. The music increased and so did her movements as Reyes opened his eyes and glanced at the mirrors on the opposite wall; watching her body move and bounce to the beat.

Reyes threaded his fingers through her while lifting his hips again, feeling himself start to edge closer to completion. Then her perfect ass dragged itself across him and Reyes stiffened, feeling himself spill into his boxers. Pressing a kiss to her neck as she finished grinding against him, he let out a ragged breath wanting to fuck her right here and now but knowing it wasn't what they'd agreed on.

"You going to tell your boyfriend about me?" he asked as the haze cleared and Anna stood.

"What makes you think I have a boyfriend?" Anna countered as she turned around, the small crystals handing from her mask swaying with the movement.

"Girl like you...I don't see why you don't."

Anna paused for a second, wondering how far she wanted to take the back-and-forth they'd agreed on. Pushing up the mask, she leaned towards Reyes before giving him a soft kiss. "I'll see you later." she replied before slipping the mask back down and walking out of the room.

Reyes watched her go, waiting for the door to close before standing and walking over to the small bar to pour himself a glass. Taking off the mask, he felt the cool rush of air hit his heated skin and was glad of that day that Ryder had walked into his club looking for a job.

Character Analysis for Shitpost's Sake (long post; tw suicide discussion):

A funny haha, a whimsy silly image. Something I did in like 10 minutes...

Well behind the scenes I spent an entire night dissecting every episode and book paragraph in my head just to see what box fits what character (I take my silly guys very seriously and my shitposts should represent their characterizations accurately otherwise I'll kill myself).

So, here we go.

Active suicide risk: (literally anyone except Cleo and Six)

-Resus: Pretty obvious and intuitive in my opinion. Our favorite trans allegory emo boy that literally sleeps in a coffin. Hates pretty much every aspect of his life, thinks he's a disappointment to his family simply for existing (and sadly kinda is), and is pretty much fine with death as a whole (most of his friends already went trough it, after all).

-Luke: This one was also pretty obvious in my opinion. While not as clear cut or active as Resus, there was this one time where he decided to banish himself to the Underlands, no hesitation, as soon as he found out (or rather was made to believe) he attacked his parent. He's very often ostracizing himself over his lycanthropy hurting those around him, and for the major part of the book series he believed himself to be a burden for his parents. (Also he has like. Zero sense of self-preservation, at least in the tv show).

-Luella: Oh boy. Where do I begin with you girl. Just her living situation alone is sad enough, add in her attachment issues, her lack of control over her emotions, her crush on a guy that treats her... horribly, and her lack of any meaningful friendship in her life up until she became bffs with Cleo in s2. Honestly I'm just glad that by the end of s2 she's mostly content with her life the way it is, but still... at least on the episodes before she got her shit together, I'd say she's kinda worrying.

-Dixon: Yeah this guy's life is just hell lol. I'm not really getting any suicidal vibes out of him, but it is more than plausible.

10/10:

-Cleo: She's just... I love her 🙏🙏 Badass, one of the most interesting characters of the tv show in my opinion, autistic as fuck (they all are, but she's the one I relate to the most), curses the entire town in order to fix her problems and is pretty much happy despite being in an eternal sisyphean cycle.

Needs to retake the am I gay quiz:

-Resus: self explanatory I think. He really needs to get his shit together because I just cannot tolerate when he's all over Luella "oh luella I need your help with this spell and also brain drain dumped me in a wet cardboard box and killed my grandma 🥺🥺" and then going "well thanks for nothing, fuck u and ur stupid useless magic, also even tho we're nothing I will get all possessive over u at the slightest possibility of u liking Luke hey can we kiss to save the world btw" She deserves so much better than him omg. -Luke: Also pretty self explanatory. Lycantrophy is the magical equivalent of autism and adhd in this universe, I don't make the rules. Both in the books and in the show he's shown having a hard time focusing on class, finding it easier to just focus on his videogames. He spends hours playing on his console, to the point of ignoring his baisc needs, and is pretty hyperactive in my opinion, at least in the show. Really I wish they'd bring back the idea of Eeafa (or maybe even Luella) figuring out a potion or spell to help him manage his wild side, wich, to me at least, is not only his wolf self, but all of his neurodivergent tendencies in general (basically it would be magical meds that makes you have more control over the wolf form on top helping you study).

Missing person:

-Pretty much all the other kids from the books but I choose Kian because he's kinda the one that has the most relevance and the only one with an available image on the internet that is not a 3 pixels wide scan on the Internet Archive (still love them tho). He could potentially be on active suicide risk once he gets old enough to understand what happened to his parents tho, but thinking about that for more than 5 seconds makes me cry so I prefer not to.

At the moment they live very loosely in my brain but short answer: YES DEFINITELY.

My goal for Rand as a character was sort of giving him the life he didn't have in canon BITB while also adding the effects his canon life had onto my PD au, if that makes sense?

Rand was pretty much abandoned by his friends when they moved out of Galloway, so for my PD version of him, I wanted that desperation he has for his friends to stick around to really shine. If that means picking up the 'guy with the med kit' role, he'll do it. (That's also why he's their man in the chair ONTOP OF a kind of 'sniper')

Him being powerless doesn't seem like it'd bother him? He just wants to help in any way he can so he can keep his friends around and be seen as a necessary part of the team :')

(Now you've also put cute scenes in my head of Kian complaining about him 'being fine' while Rand fixes him up after a rough fight or Rolan having to be told to keep his clicking down while he watches Rand work. BUT THAT'S JUST ME-)

Was it concerning if Armi was doing her best to ignore the elephant in the room? She'd be lying if she didn't say she had been trying to pretend the last few weeks haven't happened, but it was getting harder considering Kian was taking the blunt of the fall for what happened with Sean. Surely things would be fine, right? Right? She made her way into the kitchen, wrapping her arms around her boyfriend from the back, "Hi, handsome." She greeted, pressing a kiss against his neck, before giving a small sigh and pulling back. She worried on her bottom lip, "Any news on the whole, uh, -- lawyer thing?" She hated to ask, but knew she needed to get that subject out of the way.

Now just thinking so much about nbr and safe words. Like we can ALL agree that theyd be into a lot of kinky bdsm stuff and cnc and such, so theyd definitely need one, but just. God im imagining how rough it might be at first.

Because Kian definitely has sexual trauma, and I feel like he’s absolutely been in situations with partners who’ve either treated safe words like they were stupid and unnecessary or who’ve agreed to them and then ignored them when Kian used them and just… he’d have such a hard time with it.

And I feel like Rolan would be the one to actually bring the topic up, he’s had past relationships that were actually healthy so he’d make sure they were doing everything safely while Rand would kinda just be learning shit for the first time and Kian… wouldn’t even realize how fucked his past really is until he has Rand and Rolan to put things into perspective.

Like he wouldn’t really get that he’s allowed to say no. He’s allowed to say stop, he’s allowed to change his mind, he doesn’t have to just let things happen and go along with stuff. And it’d be such a struggle for him to really get all of that especially since doing so would require kind of… admitting that there’s something wrong with what he’s used to. There’s something wrong with HIM. The things he’s gone through arent fine, arent normal, arent acceptable. And he doesn’t want to admit that.

And he’d definitely also be just like… scared of using their safeword even after it’s set. Mostly because he’d be scared that he’ll use it and they won’t listen. That they’ll just keep going anyways. And he’s fucking TERRIFIED of things ending up just like they always have before.

I feel like the first time he’d use it it wouldn’t even be because he like genuinely needs to or wants to, but because he’d just need to see. Like they’d be having sex, it’d be nothing special, and he wouldn’t really want it to stop, but he’d use the safe word just to see how they’d react. When it won’t be as bad if they don’t stop because at least he doesn’t like fully want them to.

But they obviously do. They stop immediately, check on him to make sure he’s okay, they don’t complain or get upset or just ignore him, they’re so gentle and careful and Kian doesn’t know how to handle it. And so he kind of just… cries. He just bursts out sobbing and Rolan and Rand are apologizing and asking what they did and how they can help and Kian’s just crying, shaking his head, he doesn’t know how to explain that he’s just so relieved and confused and so he ends up just hugging them and crying against them…

They’d end up having a long talk about everything afterwards, and Kian would try to explain everything to them and they’d just be so horrified for him… they’d promise and reassure him that they’d never do anything to him that he wouldn’t want them to, and that he can always, ALWAYS tell them if he doesn’t want something and they’ll listen, and Kian just ends up crying again while they comfort him…
