Thinking about Rand and Richie’s friendship and I’m going a little insane

Richie was Rand’s only friend in town, do you think after Kian and Rolan left Rand would just go to their old hang out spots and ran into Richie there? Bizly said that Richie was younger them then in high school and that he was known as a dork. Do you think the first couple of times Rand brushed him away because he was just so angry at being left behind? Do you think Rand ever sat at the docks, racking through his brain trying to think of what he did wrong and how he’s stuck in Galloway unable to do anything, knowing his parents are disappointed, knowing Rachel is gone forever, knowing his best friends may never come back, thinking he’s all alone in this town so he just sits overlooking the water smoking and trying to distract from how this is now his life?

Do you think when he finally opened up to Richie and offered him a joint or a cigarette Rand realized that he needed a friend? someone to sit in silence and smoking with? And as time went on he started looking forward to meeting up with Richie and hanging out with him, the Kian and Rolan sized hole getting more manageable to work and live with. Do you think Richie saved Rand from an early grave and gave him something to look forward to? Do you think Richie would listen to Rand talking about the D&D game and bounce ideas off of him? Do you think Richie ever made a character so that he could join in the game? Do you think Richie was the one who suggested reaching out to Kian and Rolan to finish the game because he knew how much the story meant to Rand?

Do you think Richie looked up to Rand as an older brother and do you think Rand thought of him as a little brother? Someone he could protect and be there for like he couldn’t for Rachel? Do you think when they were going to the Quick Mart he was excited to introduce Kian and Rolan to Richie more officially and have all of his friends hang out?

Do you think Rand stood there in that alleyway seeing Richie’s melting body in the alleyway after just seeing him 10 minutes ago and everything was fine but now it’s not and he has to live with the pain of knowing he couldn’t do anything to help?

Remember that burnt down twoleg place? Yeah that's where they used to live ( rosefeather did too ! But thats a story for another ask ). In this au the bug apocalypse was just a very big fire caused by a car crashing and exploding near a gas station, which then managed to spread its fire all around town in a very short amount of time. Most twolegs evacuated and moved out soon after, only leaving remnants of their old lives there, such as the Bayoutrio who saw it all go down.

Rat is apart of this too! Unfortunately he was ran over by the aforementioned car before everything went to shit, and Catnip talked to him one last time before he went.

As for Chipmunk, she drowned. Catnip blames himself for not paying attention to her.

Before all of that happened —

Catnip & Chipmunk were adopted by parents who only wanted to shut their kid up. Seeing as the child was too young to take care of them properly, and the adults didn't care enough, the both of them simply got used to living outside. Catnip's owner actually named him Munchkin, but he didn't like that name, so he named himself after a drug instead. Naturally.

Rockstar's owners had recently moved in from Hollywood, where they picked him up from the street — he tries to convince everyone the other cats in the alleys would cheer his name on like he was a celebrity. Soon after moving in, Rockstar's owners opened up an Instagram account for pictures of him, dyed his fur ( ethically ), etc. They didn't show him much attention past that though.

Forager was brought into an old woman's home and lived pretty comfortably before the fires, though she passed away when it happened. He watched it happen and couldn't do anything to help.

JRWI Nonbinary Swag Bracket Masterpost - Round One

Welcome one and all to the ultimate competition to determine the most nonbinary swagful JRWI character! This has been in the works for a while, and now it's finally happening, so spread the word!

We have 28 contestants, but out of them only one will prevail! Who will it be?

The bracket spans 5 rounds, each round will last 24 hours. All matchups were generated randomly.

Ashe Winters is the final boss of the Left Side because he was submitted overwhelmingly often. Also because it's funny.

Both voter fraud and propaganda are highly encouraged, nothing is off the table. Any asks with propaganda you send will be posted publicly and any propaganda posts you tag this blog in will be reblogged. You can also tag your propaganda with "#jrwi nonbinary bracket propaganda" and we will likely also reblog it.

Throughout our blogging and in the actual polls we will be referring to all characters with their canon pronouns in order to keep it simple and consistent.
