Music in the EAH Universe and who listens to them Part 1.
This is just an excuse to try to make music puns and share music I think the characters would listen to. (Some of these are even canon by the books!) I don't even like a majority of these musicians but I am fully convinced of my choices here. I marked in colours the one that are canonically part of the EAH Universe.
Since Tumblr only allows 100 inline links for a post I have to make different parts.
Part 1 (Alistair, Apple, Ashlynn, Blondie, Briar, Bunny)
Part 2 (Cupid, Cedar, Cerise, Chase, Courtly, Daring)
Part 3 (Darling, Dexter, Duchess, Farrah, Faybelle, Ginger)
Part 4 (Holly, Hopper, Humphrey, Hunter, Jillian, Justine)
Part 5 (Kitty, Lizzie, Maddie, Meeshell, Melody, Nina)
Part 6 (Poppy, Ramona, Raven, Rosabella, Sparrow, Tucker)
♤♡◇♧ Alistair Wonderland Liddel ♤♡◇♧
David Longbow (Heroes, Changes, Under Pressure)
Tailor Hall (Fate of the stars, The Trap, Hymn for a Scarecrow)
The Beetles (Strawberry Fields Forever, Lucy in the sky with diamonds, Yesterday)
The Doorknobs (People Are Strange, Light My Fire, Strange Days)
The Poison (Lullaby, Three Imaginary Boys, The Caterpillar)
🍎❄🪞✨ Apple White ✨🪞❄🍎
One Reflection (You Don’t Know You’re Beautiful Charming, Story of my life, One Thing)
Taylor Quick (Love Story, Castles Crumbling, I Knew You Were Trouble)
Little Red Sheeran (The A Team, Celestial, Love In Slow Motion)
Reneé Rabbit (It‘s not my fault, poison poison, snow angel)
Chappell Throne (Good luck Babe, Kaleidoscope, California)
(the last two are secret because of comphet)
ʚ ☾⋆。𖦹 °✩ 👠₊˚⊹♡ 𓍯 ɞ Ashlynn Ella ʚ ☾⋆。𖦹 °✩ 👠₊˚⊹♡ 𓍯 ɞ

Elvis Princely (Can't Help Falling In Love With You, Suspicious Minds, Love Me Tender)

Hi,
I make period drama style gifs. If you use gif packs, please like and reblog them. Most of my projects are already ready, but every day I post no more than 190 gifs. Because that was the reason why my previous account was blocked.
I tried to make gif packs in a format more familiar to you with a link to a separate page. However, unfortunately, I did not succeed because of the large format of high-quality gifs.
I want to explain about color processing. Usually, I improve the contrast, brightness and saturation, but leave the naturalness of the film. I don't make the contours too sharp because I like the aesthetic of it looking like a natural image.
Actors in alphabetical order: part 1(A-D), part 2, part 3

Lily Auer - likes fruit. year-round, father is dead. doesn't like fighting, but does have emergency throwing knives. luckily, monsters don't care much about her. She/her (only because she doesn't know about gender), undecided on orientation.
Headcanons:
Lily is really young, around eight. The other Demeter kids take care of her
Meg's siblings like to call her Megan. she hates it. because megan is not her name, margaret is, and margaret sucks anyway
Miranda is the Best Tree Lover. she wears a hat that Lily made for her with that exact wording all the time
Katie is the Best Eldest Sister. again, Lily gave her a hat
Billie makes flower crowns for Lily
Douglas and Steve argue over whether shrub sculptures or moss murals are a better plant-associated art form
Abzari added a waterfall and pool to the cabin's side
Katie visits camp occasionally, always with little seed packets and gifts for her younger siblings

How to Sell a Haunted House by Grady Hendrix
When Louise finds out her parents have died, she dreads going home. She doesn’t want to leave her daughter with her ex and fly to Charleston. She doesn’t want to deal with her family home, stuffed to the rafters with the remnants of her father’s academic career and her mother’s lifelong obsession with puppets and dolls. She doesn’t want to learn how to live without the two people who knew and loved her best in the world.
Most of all, she doesn’t want to deal with her brother, Mark, who never left their hometown, gets fired from one job after another, and resents her success. Unfortunately, she’ll need his help to get the house ready for sale because it’ll take more than some new paint on the walls and clearing out a lifetime of memories to get this place on the market.
But some houses don’t want to be sold, and their home has other plans for both of them...
Payback's a Witch by Lana Harper
Emmy Harlow is a witch but not a very powerful one - in part because she hasn't been home to the magical town of Thistle Grove in years. Her self-imposed exile has a lot to do with a complicated family history and a desire to forge her own way in the world, and only the very tiniest bit to do with Gareth Blackmoore, heir to the most powerful magical family in town and casual breaker of hearts and destroyer of dreams.
But when a spellcasting tournament that her family serves as arbiters for approaches, it turns out the pull of tradition (or the truly impressive parental guilt trip that comes with it) is strong enough to bring Emmy back. She's determined to do her familial duty; spend some quality time with her best friend, Linden Thorn; and get back to her real life in Chicago.
On her first night home, Emmy runs into Talia Avramov - an all-around badass adept in the darker magical arts - who is fresh off a bad breakup . . . with Gareth Blackmoore. Talia had let herself be charmed, only to discover that Gareth was also seeing Linden - unbeknownst to either of them. And now she and Linden want revenge. Only one question stands: Is Emmy in?
But most concerning of all: Why can't she stop thinking about the terrifyingly competent, devastatingly gorgeous, wickedly charming Talia Avramov?
This is the first volume of "The Witches of Thistle Grove" series.
The Secrets of Hartwood Hall by Katie Lumsden
Nobody ever goes to Hartwood Hall. Folks say it’s cursed…
It’s 1852 and Margaret Lennox, a young widow, attempts to escape the shadows of her past by taking a position as governess to an only child, Louis, at an isolated country house in the west of England.
But Margaret soon starts to feel that something isn’t quite right. There are strange figures in the dark, tensions between servants, and an abandoned east wing. Even stranger is the local gossip surrounding Mrs. Eversham, Louis’s widowed mother, who is deeply distrusted in the village.
Lonely and unsure whom to trust, Margaret finds distraction in a forbidden relationship with the gardener, Paul. But as Margaret’s history threatens to catch up with her, it isn’t long before she learns the truth behind the secrets of Hartwood Hall.
The Shadows by Alex North
You knew a teenager like Charlie Crabtree. A dark imagination, a sinister smile - always on the outside of the group. Some part of you suspected he might be capable of doing something awful. Twenty-five years ago, Crabtree did just that, committing a murder so shocking that it’s attracted that strange kind of infamy that only exists on the darkest corners of the internet - and inspired more than one copycat.
Paul Adams remembers the case all too well: Crabtree - and his victim - were Paul’s friends. Paul has slowly put his life back together. But now his mother, old and suffering from dementia, has taken a turn for the worse. Though every inch of him resists, it is time to come home.
It's not long before things start to go wrong. Paul learns that Detective Amanda Beck is investigating another copycat that has struck in the nearby town of Featherbank. His mother is distressed, insistent that there's something in the house. And someone is following him. Which reminds him of the most unsettling thing about that awful day twenty-five years ago. It wasn't just the murder.
It was the fact that afterward, Charlie Crabtree was never seen again.

Women, Race, and Class Ch 6
The mystifying powers of racism often emanate from its irrational, topsy-turvy logic. According to the prevailing ideology. Black people were allegedly incapable of intellectual advancement. After all, they had been chattel, naturally inferior as compared to the white epitomes of humankind. But if they really were biologically inferior, they would have manifested neither the desire nor the capability to acquire knowledge. Ergo, no prohibition of learning would have been necessary. In reality, of course, Black people had always exhibited a furious impatience as regards the acquisition of education.
The yearning for knowledge had always been there. As early as 1787, Black people petitioned the state of Massachusetts for the right to attend Boston’s free schools. After the petition was rejected. Prince Hall, who was the leader of this initiative, established a school in his own home. Perhaps the most stunning illustration of this early demand for education was the work of an African-born woman who was a former slave. In 1793 Lucy Terry Prince boldly demanded an audience before the trustees of the newly established Williams College for Men, who had refused to admit her son into the school. Unfortunately, the racist prejudices were so strong that Lucy Prince’s logic and eloquence could not sway the trustees of this Vermont institution. Yet she aggressively defended her people’s desire for — and right to — education. Two years later Lucy Terry Prince successfully defended a land claim before the highest court of the land, and according to surviving records, she remains the first woman to have addressed the Supreme Court of the United States.
Seventeen ninety-three was also the year an ex-slave woman, who had purchased her freedom, established a school in the city of New York which was known as Katy Ferguson’s School for the Poor. Her pupils, whom she recruited from the poorhouse, were both Black and white (twenty-eight and twenty respectively) 11 and were quite possibly both boys and girls. Forty years later the young white teacher Prudence Crandall steadfastly defended Black girls’ right to attend her Canterbury, Connecticut, school. Crandall persistently taught her Black pupils until she was dragged off to jail for refusing to shut down her school. Margaret Douglass was another white woman who was imprisoned in Norfolk, Virginia, for operating a school for Black children.
The most outstanding examples of white women’s sisterly solidarity with Black women are associated with Black people’s historical struggle for education. Like Prudence Crandall and Margaret Douglass, Myrtilla Miner literally risked her life as she sought to impart knowledge to young Black women. In 1851, when she initiated her project to establish a Black teachers’ college in Washington, D.C., she had already instructed Black children in Mississippi, a state where education for Blacks was a criminal offense.
....By the time of the Hayes Betrayal and the overthrow of Radical Reconstruction, the accomplishments in education had become one of the most powerful proofs of progress during that potentially revolutionary era. Fisk University, Hampton Institute and several other Black colleges and universities had been established in the post-Civil War South. J Some 247,333 pupils were attending 4,329 schools — and these were the building blocks for the South’s first public school system, which would benefit Black and white children alike. Although the post-Reconstruction period and the attendant rise of Jim Crow education drastically diminished Black people’s educational opportunities, the impact of the Reconstruction experience could not be entirely obliterated. The dream of land was shattered for the time being and the hope for political equality waned. But the beacon of knowledge was not easily extinguished — and this was the guarantee that the fight for land and for political power would unrelentingly go on.

Cedric: Laura Kraut’s Once in a Lifetime Partner Inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame
Hall of Fame Chairman Peter Doubleday with Mary Elizabeth Kent, who helped train Cedric for her sister, Laura; Margaret Duprey, Cedric’s owner; and Laura Kraut, his rider – Photo: © KindMedia
Lexington, Kentucky, USA – March 8, 2024 – Francisco “Pancho” Lopez, longtime barn manager for Katie Monahan Prudent and then Elise Haas, and Cedric, Laura Kraut’s gold medal Olympic mount, were inducted into the Show Jumping Hall of Fame during the Hall of Fame’s Induction Gala in Wellington, Florida, on March 3.
“This was the third year we have hosted our annual induction ceremony as part of a sit-down dinner in Wellington and it was our biggest and best yet,” said Show Jumping Hall of Fame chairman Peter Doubleday. “We sold out in advance and, unfortunately, had to turn away several people who wanted to be there. Our sport’s history was on display with 15 Hall of Famers and many more of our sport’s legends in attendance. Once again it was an incredible night, one that we will continue to build on each year.”
The “once in a lifetime” partner for rider Laura Kraut (FRA), Cedric was a small gray Holsteiner gelding foaled in Belgium in 1998 who became a stalwart on the U.S. Equestrian Team. He was originally owned in the U.S. by Peter Wetherill and Happy Hill Farm. After Wetherill passed away in 2010, his brother, Cortie, assumed ownership together with Kraut before Margaret Duprey of Cherry Knoll Farm became Cedric’s final owner in 2012 to help keep him in Kraut’s barn.
Cedric made his FEI debut in 2006 and, despite his 15.2-hand height and many quirks, quickly became a powerhouse on the international show jumping circuit. His amazing partnership with Kraut spanned 11 years, producing 81 clear and 45 double-clear rounds in major competitions of $100,000 or more. Most notably, the pair helped the U.S. win a team gold medal at the 2008 Olympic Games in Hong Kong.
Cedric’s successful career also included riding on the U.S. team at the 2010 FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG) and numerous Nations Cup appearances, including Aachen, Barcelona, Dublin, La Baule, Rome, Rotterdam, St. Gallen and Wellington. He and Kraut also won the Grand Prix at four Longines Global Champions Tour (GCT) events and they were the first horse-and-rider combination to win back-to-back events, claiming top honors in 2010 at Chantilly and then Valkenswaard just two weeks later. Cedric and Kraut also won GCT events in Lausanne (2012) and Wiesbaden (2013).
A naturally careful and competitive horse, Cedric was one of the nation’s leading money winners, amassing well over $2 million in prize money. He was honored as The Chronicle of the Horse’s Show Jumping Horse of the Year in 2010. Cedric was formally retired at age 19 in a moving ceremony in Wellington in 2017.
The induction dinner, held at the Wanderers Club in Wellington, also recognized 15 others in attendance who have previously been inducted into the Hall of Fame including Olympic veterans Mary Chapot, Margie Engle, Leslie Howard, Anne Kursinski, Beezie Madden, Michael Matz, Melanie Smith Taylor and Katie Prudent (1980 Alternate Olympics), as well as Linda Allen, Jane Forbes Clark, Anthony D’Ambrosio, David Distler, Peter Doubleday, Danny Marks and former Olympic rider and current U.S. chef d’equipe Robert Ridland. Others in attendance included Olympic veterans McLain Ward, Lauren Hough, Will Simpson, Nick Skelton, Shane Sweetnam, and Mac Cone and Grand Prix riders Georgina Bloomberg, Carly Anthony, Heather Caristo-Williams, Jimmy Torano, Kelli Cruciotti-Vanderveen, Schuyler Riley, and Coco Fath.
Sponsors of the dinner included Robin Parsky, Beth Johnson, Charlie Jacobs, who sponsored the attendance of all Hall of Famers, and the Wheeler Family who sponsored the cocktail reception and open bar. Also sponsoring were the Hall of Fame’s corporate sponsors – Blenheim EquiSports, Charles Ancona, CMJ Sporthorse, Hampton Classic Horse Show, Kentucky Horse Park, LAURACEA, LEG Colorado Horse Shows, Markel Insurance, Palm Beach International Academy, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), Washington International Horse Show, and Wellington International. Table sponsors included John Madden Sales, Leslie Howard, Oliynyk Show Stables, Margaret Duprey and Laura Kraut.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame was organized to promote the sport of show jumping and to immortalize the legends of the men, women and horses who have made great contributions to the sport. The Show Jumping Hall of Fame is located at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky. Plaques honoring those who have been inducted into the Hall of Fame can be seen at the Horse Park’s Rolex Stadium. Mementos and artifacts from the sport’s history are on display as part of the Show Jumping Hall of Fame collection at the United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA) Wheeler Museum at the Horse Park.
The Show Jumping Hall of Fame is sponsored by Blenheim EquiSports, Charles Ancona, CMJ Sporthorse, Hampton Classic Horse Show, Kentucky Horse Park, LAURACEA, LEG Colorado Horse Shows, Markel, Palm Beach International Academy, Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital, United States Hunter Jumper Association (USHJA), Washington International Horse Show and Wellington International.

Best Books of 2023 📚
1. Part of Your World by Abby Jimenez 6⭐️ - I avoided this book for so long because I didn’t think I’d like it for some reason. Boy was I wrong! This is now my all-time favorite romance. I felt ALL the emotions reading this. I swooned, I cried, I laughed so hard I was left gasping. It was perfect. I felt the magic. READ THIS BOOK. Also read Yours Truly, which almost made this list too.
2. When We Were Young by Richard Roper 5⭐️ - Richard Roper became my favorite author last year with Something To Live For and this one is also outstanding. I related to Theo so strongly, even when that meant being uncomfortable. The ending tore me to pieces and I threw the book at the wall—and then picked up and made sure it wasn’t damaged so I could hug it for the rest of the day/week/year/my life. READ THIS TOO.
3. The Secret Bridesmaid by Katy Birchall 5⭐️ - Katy Birchall is quickly becoming a comfort author for me. The romances are always cute, but even better are the friendships in her books. This one is the best of all. It has the grumpy-sunshine dynamic I love but in the context of a friendship and it is so much fun. So heartwarming, definitely pick it up if you need some happy feels.
4. Jane in Love by Rachel Givney 5⭐️ - Jane Austen is transported to the modern day. ‘Nuff said. I’ve gotten really into Jane Austen this year so this was a treat. It felt like being in one her novels but the language was easier since it’s modern.
5. On a Night Like This by Lindsey Kelk 5⭐️ - I feel very similarly to this one as Secret Bridesmaid. Cute romance, but an even more endearing story of friendship. Another perfect comfort read.
6. When In Rome by Sarah Adams 5⭐️ - I rated this a 4/5 at first but I haven’t stopped thinking about it all year so I had to bump it up. It’s not particularly complex but it’s just what you want in a romance. Adorable small town, grumpy-sunshine. Can’t ask for more. The sequel Practice Makes Perfect almost made this list too.
7. Rhapsodic by Laura Thalassa 5⭐️ - This was my first read this year, and it was a strong start. I don’t know why I was drawn to it so strongly, but I kept going back to it at this one little bookshop in Prague day after day. My soul somehow knew that this was exactly what I want in a romantasy. Feels a lot like Gena Showalter if you’re into that.
8. The Bromance Bookclub by Lyssa Kay Adams 5⭐️ - Perfect concept, excellent execution. Don’t get that too often. I liked that this involved men who read and respect the romance genre and also that it’s about an existing relationship that the characters are trying to save. I feel like I don’t see those elements very often so it was a nice change.
9. There’s Something About Merry by Codi Hall 5⭐️ - The coziest read of the year. Mixes all of my favorite romance elements: small town, holidays, grumpy-sunshine (sort of), single dad. It’s what you expect, but don’t we all need that sometimes?
10. Little Thieves by Margaret Owen 5⭐️ - I haven’t gotten so into a YA book in a long time. This one completely sucked me in. The main character is deeply flawed but understandable and (probably more importantly for me) funny enough to keep me liking her. Loved the other characters and the plot. It was fast-paced and so fun from beginning to end.
I hope everyone else had a great reading year! Here’s to 2024 *clinks books with you*

The Stolen Heir by Holly Black. It was a great follow-up to The Folk of the Air trilogy, and I can't wait for the next book!
3. New release you haven’t read yet
Painted Devils by Margaret Owen, which is the sequel to Little Thieves. It's on my birthday list with multiple stars next to it so my mom knows I really, REALLY want it.
4. Most anticipated release for the second half of the year
I don't have one. Or at least, I can't think of any.
5. Biggest disappointment
So Happy For You by Celia Laskey. Not because it was bad (which it was--I knew that going into it though) but because the author spent the whole book showing that friendships don't have to (and sometimes shouldn't) last forever only to renege on it at the very end and have the narrator forgive the absolute psycho friend who tried to MURDER HER!
6. Biggest surprise
Mortal Follies by Alexis Hall. I'm generally not super into romance, but I requested from NetGalley on a whim because the cover was pretty and it sounded fun. I ended up giving it 5 stars! I loved the narrative voice and the world Hall created.
7. Favorite new author (debut or new to you)
Katie Lumsden, who is Books and Things over on YouTube. Her debut novel, The Secrets of Hartwood Hall, came out in February and I loved it.
8. Newest fictional crush/newest favorite character
I'd say it's a tie between Vanja from Little Thieves and Cigarette from Under Two Flags by Ouida. Both are absolutely awesome.
9. Book that made you cry
There hasn't been one so far. I think I'm kind of unconsciously avoiding anything that would make me cry.
10. Book that made you happy
Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett. It was my first read of the year and was just the perfect book for me. I couldn't stop smiling while reading it.
11. Favorite Adaptation
In a completely unshocking turn of events, Little Thieves. 😆 (I'm counting fairy tale retellings as adaptations here; if we're talking film adaptations, I don't think I've watched any yet. Or if I did they were bad and I've stricken them from my memory.)
12. Prettiest Cover
The UK edition of The Secrets of Hartwood Hall. I waited an extra month to read the book because I needed that edition. It has gorgeous end papers!
13. A book you need to read before the end of the year
Way too many haha. For the sake of brevity, I'll limit myself to three that are for school. Princess Napraxine by Ouida, Aurora Floyd by Mary Elizabeth Braddon, and The Athelings by Margaret Oliphant.
I'm not sure who has done this already, but I'll tag @dauen, @lettersfromthelighthouse, and @appleinducedsleep (no pressure)!
