Trading Site Reopening and Gifting Spree!
So. After weeks of work (*insert alpaca scream here*), my trading site is open for trading! To celebrate, I decided to gift a few audios and videos from Phantom of the Opera, a few audios from Les Misérables, two cast recordings from Elisabeth das Musical, and a cast recording for Sweeney Todd. Enjoy!
(If you're the master of a listed audio/video, please don't hesitate to reach out to me if you want me to remove your stuff from the list.)
POTO audios
Michael Crawford, Rebecca Caine (alt.), Steve Barton October 10, 1987; London Michael Crawford and Steve Barton's last in London. Soundboard, very good quality, and this one is complete. And Rebecca Caine sounds amazing in it (as she always does). https://www.mediafire.com/file/pttrjfqzb84gatm/POTO_West_End_10-10-1987_-_Crawford%252C_Caine%252C_Barton.rar/file Steve Barton, Rebecca Luker, Gary Lindemenn (u/s), Marilyn Caskey, Jeff Keller, George Lee Andrews, Leila Martin September 26, 1990; Broadway Soundboard audio. Because Steve Barton was almost as good of a Phantom as he was as Raoul, and Rebecca Luker is a legend (RIP). https://www.mediafire.com/file/xc9ywojtdesptje/POTO_Broadway_26-09-1990_-_Barton%252C_Luker%252C_Lindemenn.rar/file Davis Gaines, Tracy Shayne, Matthew R. Jones, George Lee Andrews, Jeff Keller, Lelia Martin October 5, 1996; Broadway Davis Gaines's last performance. Caesar, Andy Hockley, Simon Green, Elizabeth Mars, Hannah Cadec, Vincent Pirillo September 29, 2012; Edinburgh Not the biggest fan of the restaged tour, but... Katie Hall's "Tears of HAAAAAATE" is pretty great. And John Owen-Jones! https://www.mediafire.com/file/00vtvziy172lpkv/POTO_UK_Tour_29-09-2012_-_Owen-Jones%252C_Hall%252C_Bailey.rar/file Hugh Panaro, Elizabeth Welch (u/s), Jeremy Hays March 3, 2014; Broadway Great trio overall, but Elizabeth Welch is a standout (to me at least). https://www.mediafire.com/file/1hc1ozi96vok5pd/POTO_Broadway_03-03-2014_-_Panaro%252C_Welch%252C_Hays.rar/file Dmitry Ermak, Tamara Kotova, Eugeny Zaytsev, Irina Samoylova, Alexei Bobrov, Yuri Mazihin, Elena Charkviani, Valeria Migalina, Rustim Bahtiyarov (u/s) July 16, 2015; Moscow A lovely production that I miss - Tamara Kotova in particular is great. https://www.mediafire.com/file/w56tx5d7fkh4kse/POTO_Moscow_16-07-2015_-_Ermak%252C_Kotova%252C_Zaytsev.rar/file John Owen-Jones, Celinde Schoenmaker, Nadim Naaman, Megan Llewellyn, Michael Matus, Christopher Dickens, Jacinta Mulcahy, Alicia Beck, John Ellis September 7, 2015; London First performance of the 2015-2016 cast. https://www.mediafire.com/file/5hswf44ldku6ngm/POTO_West_End_07-09-2015_-_Owen-Jones%252C_Schoenmaker%252C_Naaman.rar/file Peter Jöback, Emmi Christensson, Anton Zetterholm, Karolina Andresson, Glenn Kjellberg, Rolf Lydhal, Sanna Martin, Tehilla Blad, Sindre Postholm March 19, 2017; Stockholm Given Christine is from Sweden, it's only fair to include the recent Stockholm production. https://www.mediafire.com/file/zkl38t9388gcvh7/POTO_Sweden_2017-03-19_PJ_EC_AZ.wav/file Tim Howar, Amy Manford, Jeremy Taylor, Kimberly Blake, Ross Dawes, Alan Vicary, Jacinta Mulcahy, Georgia Ware, Paul Ettore Tabone September 7, 2019; London This one is different from the one listed as NFT (so don't get mad at me, haha). POTO videos
Earl Carpenter, Rachel Barrell, David Shannon, Wendy Ferguson, David Lawrence (u/s), Sam Hiller, Emily Harvey (u/s), Heidi Ann O'Brien, Rohan Tickell January 2006 VOB format. If you want to see Earl in London right now but can't... this video is the best quality overall that features him, and Rachel Barrell is a fantastic Christine - one of my favorites in the role. https://mega.nz/folder/u09GQKyR#gjNHj4Letd9YInTsuLowjA Gary Mauer, Elizabeth Southard, Jim Weitzer, Kim Stengel, John Jellison, DC Anderson, Patti Davidson-Gorbea, Kate Wray, John Whitney April 6, 2006; Dallas VOB format. For my Eristine moots (I see you!): Gary Mauer and Elizabeth Southard were (and as far as I know, still are) married while performing as the Phantom and Christine, and you thought Ramin and Sierra's chemistry was off the charts, think again. https://mega.nz/folder/PtExxS5A#D4yyf2g_lXoN-cIDPkMU2Q Anthony Crivello, Kristi Holden, Andrew Ragone, Geena Jeffries Mattox, John Leslie Wolfe, Lawson Skala, Tina Walsh, Brianne Kelly Morgan, Larry Wayne Morbitt August 8, 2008; Las Vegas VOB format. This is the Las Vegas Spectacular production, which is abriged compared to the original but totally worth seeing. If you want to understand why I love Meg Giry so much, Brianne Kelly Morgan is one of the best I've ever seen in the role. Also, if you’re meh about Raoul... with Andrew Ragone, think again. He’s one of the most Superman/Clark Kent Raouls I’ve seen. And I really like Kristi Holden’s Leroux-esque Christine too. https://mega.nz/folder/Sh1zxSAB#twtXau8Y8pd_L9tMQLa4Mg Jeremy Stolle (u/s), Samantha Hill, Greg Mills (u/s), Michele McConnell, Tim Jerome, Richard Poole (u/s), Ellen Harvey, Kara Klein, Christian Sebek March 9, 2013 VOB format. Missing part of Act 1 (‘Stranger Than You Dreamt It’ to Il Muto), but otherwise complete. This is one of the best trios I've seen on Broadway, and Samantha Hill is just a fantastic Christine overall. https://mega.nz/folder/y1slyJRD#OP1Tp5Cj_fMk9LbAWJMqAA Tomas Ambt Kofod, Sibylle Glosted, Christian Lund, Louise Fribo, Carl Christian Rasmussen, Sebastian Harris, Elisabeth Halling, Imogen-Lilly Ash, Rasmus Jupin March 2019; Copenhagen VOB format. This one is more recent, but given it's been uploaded on YouTube, I guess it's fine to gift it (again, if you’re the master and you want me to remove this, please let me know). This one has one of the best casts ever caught on tape. Seriously. Everyone in this is a star. https://mega.nz/folder/q40hTagI#Zui14MWo-F2YSQ0gNdaL6Q
Les Mis Audios
Colm Wilkinson, Roger Allam, Patti LuPone, Alun Armstrong, Sue Jane Tanner, Michael Ball, Frances Ruffele, Rebecca Caine, David Burt 1985; London Preview at the Barbican Centre. This is interesting since it includes Cosette's song "I Saw Him Once", which has been cut later. https://www.mediafire.com/file/jbedqiemuk9qnd1/Les_Mis_West_End_1985_-_Wilkinson%252C_Allam.rar/file Symphonic recording (1989) Gary Morris, Philip Quast, Debra Byrne, Michael Ball, Tracy Shayne, Kaho Shimada, Anthony Warlow, Barry James, Gay Soper https://www.mediafire.com/file/n7gp30jcpnjfkf7/Les_Miserables_Symphonic_Recording.rar/file Kyle Jean-Baptiste (u/s), Earl Carpenter, Erika Henningsen, Chris McCarrell, Samantha Hill, Brennyn Lark, Max Quinlan (u/s), Gavin Lee, Rachel Izen August 13, 2015; Broadway For Kyle Jean-Baptiste, who was an amazing performer gone way too soon. Elisabeth das Musical
Original Cast Recording (1992) Pia Douwes, Uwe Kroeger, Ethan Freeman, Andreas Bieber, Viktor Gernot, Else Ludwig https://www.mediafire.com/file/fagi9ctooeq2y11/Elisabeth-Original_German_Cast.rar/file Vienna revival cast recording (2006) Maya Hakvoort, Mate Kamaras, Serkan Kaya, André Bauer, Fritz Schmid, Else Ludwig https://www.mediafire.com/file/7wpqbotp8oszzz3/Elisabeth_-_2006_Vienna_Cast.rar/file
Sweeney Todd
2000 Concert Cast Recording George Hearn, Patti LuPone, Davis Gaines, Heidi Grant Murphy, Paul Plishka, Audra McDonald, Standford Olsen, Neil Patrick Harris, John Aler Pretty sure this isn't on Spotify, which is a real shame given its cast. So enjoy! EDIT: Someone pointed out to me that the recording is incomplete - probably a result of the Great Hardware Crash of 2016, so until I get the full version, this will probably stay incomplete. Sorry about that! https://www.mediafire.com/file/ywoiqe5bnlzr7bs/Sweeney_Todd_2000_New_York_Concert_Cast.rar/file

Sorry, Charles, but the answer to everything is Princess Anne
By Deborah Ross for The Times
This week, a royal quiz because, come on, you thought you’d get away without one? This week of all weeks? And if you actually did think you’d get away without one, and I don’t mean this spitefully, aren’t you somewhat dense?
However, in the light of the no-fluff, no-nonsense interview Princess Anne recently gave to Canadian television and all the admiration that unleashed, and in my belief that you don’t like to be overstretched on a Thursday morning, particularly as some of you are still recovering from the news that Jacob Rees-Mogg finds broad beans “loathsome” — it isn’t yet known what broad beans make of him; I will ask next time I push one to the side of my plate* — I have decided to make this easy for you.
The answer, in every instance, is “Princess Anne”. Again, I don’t mean this spitefully, but if you get one wrong you will have no one to blame but yourself.
● Who is the best king we’ll never have, would have been known as “King Anne I”, and would have told those Repair Shop people to “just get on with it” and stop blubbing all over the place and let me know when you’re finished as I have to go kick ass and am behind with kicking ass as it is? (“I get up at 4.30am to kick ass but the day runs away with me all the same, Jay.”)
● Who was not their mother’s favourite child, which, to quote Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman, proved “a big mistake. BIG! HUGE!”?
● Who sits somewhere between Kate being marvellous (and “dazzling”) for just wearing a dress and Meghan being an evil bitch and the new Stalin simply for adopting a different hairstyle?
● Who has never, ever suddenly adopted a different hairstyle and therefore can’t be either an evil bitch or the new Stalin?
● If someone attempted to kidnap you on The Mall and you thought, “What would a royal do in this instance?” which royal would most spring to mind? Particularly if you wished to tell the kidnapper, “Not bloody likely.”
● Ranking them in order, which royal do you suspect rolls their eyes at Fergie the most?
● If you had to bet on one royal retaking America, who would it be?
● Which royal was never dubbed “Randy Annie” or “Air Miles Annie” because they never adopted the kind of freeloading, entitled, licentious lifestyle that would one day bite them on the arse and have them running to Mummy?
● Who, of all the family, do you suspect most often swears like a sailor under their breath and would smoke Woodbines, if they smoked?
● Which royal would be most likely to run over Paddington in their Range Rover and not look back?
● Who demanded that titles weren’t conferred on their children, saying they’d have to earn their own money, and also, chances are, campaigned, albeit unsuccessfully, for Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice to get married at Hackney Town Hall followed by Nando’s?
● If a royal were to meet Greg Davies in a post-performance line-up, who would be most able to think up a brutal snub along the lines of, “A lot of ex-teachers become comedians. I can’t see why”?
● Which royal most probably inherited their mother’s Tupperware and will keep it going for future generations, thereby ensuring no royal cornflakes ever go soft?
● Which royal could probably get a potato to peel itself and leap into hot fat just by looking at it?
● Who sliced and diced Cherie Blair at Balmoral in 1997 by refusing to call her “Cherie”, as requested, and instead said, “Let’s not go that way. Let’s stick to Mrs Blair, shall we?”?
● Which royal taught their mother to use Zoom during Covid — “you should have six people on your screen . . . you don’t need to see me. You know what I look like” — but probably gave up on teaching her to text, like we all do, so no judgment there?
● Which royal probably couldn’t be bothered to even get their mother started with online banking?
● Who has inherited a look that amounts to wearing a headscarf tied under the chin like an old Greek lady guiding a donkey down a lane with a stick?
● Who has a look that, for some reason, never sells out everywhere the next day?
● Which royal did The Crown reveal to have been an absolute goer in their youth?
● Which royal did, in fact, have different hair as a young child and looked the spit of Harpo Marx?
● Which royal once reportedly said of Princess Diana, “I will not be pushed around by that brainless woman”?
● If you had all their numbers, which royal would you call if you needed a chicken’s neck wringing?
● If you had to come up with a royal who once appeared on Wogan while looking for all the world as if they’d prefer to have had their head on the chopping block like that other Anne, the Boleyn one, who would that be?
● Which royal do you most imagine would give you a horsewhipping** if you didn’t close the Tupperware properly, thus failing to maintain its airtight seal and letting the cornflakes go soft?
● Which royal has best withstood all the scandals as well as their own divorce and has provided so little grist for the newspapers we might as well all just go home?
● Which royal kind of reminds you of Willa from Succession, who sees everything that goes on in this family but knows if you get too involved you’ll be torn apart and fed to the wolves?
● Lastly, of all the royals, who would you name as the one who actually gets what being a royal is all about?
(*Funnily enough, I did push a broad bean to the side of my plate just now and it said: “The feeling is mutual”)
(**Or a savaging from her dog Dotty)
#i just thought this was enjoyable#my favourite one is the fergie one#princess anne#princess royal#newspapers#british royal family#brf#kciii coronation

I’m working on compiling a list of books where a main character has wings or winged people are a significant part of the story. I have read a fair amount of these but not all.

Ascendant by Kimberly Grey
Between the Sea and Sky by Jaclyn Dolamore
Birdwing by Rafe Martin

Five Children and It by E. Nesbit
Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett
Growing Wings by Laurel Winter
Halo by Alexandra Adornetto
Harpy Thyme by Piers Anthony
The Icarus Project by Laura Quimby: Odd example since the title and cover imply a lot of this theme, but wings appear on like five pages.
Immortal City by Scott Speer
Mail-Order Wings by Beatrice Gormley
Maximum Ride (series) by James Patterson
Mr. Pye by Mervyn Peake
Nights at the Circus by Angela Carter
Peter and the Starcatchers by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson

The Tale of Angelino Brown by David Almond
Tama of the Light Country by Ray Cummings
The Things with Wings by Greg Holch
To Dream, Perchance to Soar by Ashlyn Nafina
Valkyrie by Kate O’Hearn
The Wayfarer Redemption by Sara Douglass
When the Wind Blows and The Lake House by James Patterson: The origin of the idea that was repackaged for younger readers as Maximum Ride.
When We Have Wings by Claire Corbett: The gold standard for sci-fi winged people as far as I’m concerned.
The Winged Man by A.E. van Vogt
Wings by Bill Brittain
Wings by Julie Gonzalez
The Wings of Merlin by T. A. Barron
Year of the Griffin, by Diana Wynne Jones: Main character is a griffin, but there are some good descriptions of flying and life with wings. There's a brief mention of the griffin's siblings who are winged humanoids (it's an unusual family).
Short Stories
“Men with Wings” By Leslie F. Stone First appearing in Air Wonder Stories (July 1929) and Women With Wings (1930)
A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings (short story) by Gabriel Garcia Marquez
“Wings in the Morning” by Sarah Rees Brennan, in anthology Monstrous Affections (Part of the world introduced in her book In Other Lands, which features harpies.)
Picture Books
Gwinna by Barbara Helen Berger
Wings by Christopher Myers
Feel free to add to the list.

LGBT+ History Month & Wales - Cymru & Mis Hanes LHDT+
This is a guest post I made for LGBT+ History Month 2018, on the National Library of Wales’s blog. (Welsh version below.)
Wales & LGBT+ History Month Wales & LGBT+ History Month For fifteen years, February has been regarded as the month to celebrate the histories of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people, and anybody else who may fit into the LGBT+ umbrella. LGBT+ History Month 2018 has seen the most events in Wales yet – such as Pride Cymru’s event at the Senedd. From studying the LGBT History of Wales, I’ve found that the National Library is a hive of secondary and primary resources into Welsh LGBT Histories. Anyone who has used their archives will know it is a great resource to uncover personal histories – such as Welsh women’s histories. Similarly, Welsh LGBT+ people’s histories are still being uncovered. This month, or any other month, read the history of a Welsh LGBT+ person, celebrate them, and maybe help uncover the history of Welsh LGBT+ people. Here are fourteen key figures in Welsh LGBT+ history who can be researched at the National Library of Wales – to be celebrated this month, and hopefully to always be celebrated in Welsh history. 1. The Ladies of Llangollen are the most well-known Welsh LGBT+ figures. They were Sarah Ponsonby [1755-1831] and Eleanor Butler [1739-1829], two Irish women who escaped their family to live their lives together at Plas Newydd in Llangollen. Much has been written about them, which can be read at the National Library. Archives related to the Ladies at the Library include portraits, letters, facsimiles of their account books, electronic resources and other papers. NLW MS 21682C – Letters from Ladies of Llangollen NLW MS 23699E, ff. 135-137. – Letters of the Ladies of Llangollen NLW MS 23980F, ff. 24-25. – Ladies of Llangollen letters NLW MS 22768D. – Ladies of Llangollen letters Cardiff MS 2.908. – Ladies of Llangollen Bodrhyddan Estate Papers, Deeds and Documents 57 – Letter: Sarah Ponsonby to Miss Williams Wynn. Endorsed ‘Last Letter from Miss Ponsonby’ NLW Facs 18. – ‘Ladies of Llangollen’ account book NLW Facs 19. – ‘Ladies of Llangollen’ account book NLW MS 19697B. – A personal and household account book of the ‘Ladies of Llangollen’ in the hand of Sarah Ponsonby Other writings on the Ladies includes accounts on them from the period, Ceridwen Lloyd-Morgan’s Papers of the ‘Ladies of Llangollen’ and Susan Valladares’ article on Anne Lister’s meeting with the Ladies. 2. Katherine Philips [1631-1664] was an Anglo-Welsh poet who Norena Shopland has uncovered as ‘The Welsh Sappho.’ Philips is one of the earliest examples of poetry around her ‘romantic friendships.’ NLW MS 775B. – Katherine Philips poetry NLW MS 776B. – Katherine Philips poetry NLW Facs 739. – Katherine Philips poem NLW Films 943-6 – Katherine Philips Microfilms NLW MS 21702E. – Barddoniaeth amrywiol 3. Frances Power Cobbe [1822-1904] and Mary Charlotte Lloyd [1819-1896], like the Ladies of Llangollen lived in Wales together. Cobbe was a well-known suffragette, campaigner and writer – Mary Lloyd was a Welsh sculptor who lived as her partner. Sources on Lloyd are mainly from Cobbe’s writings. Minor Deposit 1309-15. – Manuscripts of Frances Power Cobbe of Hengwrt, Dolgellau, religious philosopher, &c NLW ex 1865-7 – Frances Power Cobbe Bequest 4. Sarah Jane Rees (Cranogwen) [1839-1916] was a writer, editor, sailor, lecturer, and editor of Y Frythones, and was in a lifelong lesbian relationship, as written by Jane Aaron in Queer Wales. Sarah Jane Rees (‘Cranogwen’) Cerddi i Maggie Eurona gan Cranogwen. NLW MS 23895A. – Anerchiad gan Cranogwen Sarah Jane Rees (‘Cranogwen’) poetry 5. Amy Dillwyn [1845-1935] was an industrialist and feminist who also published novels with lesbian and cross-dressing themes. The novels published by Honno, her biography David Painting and other writings about her by Kirsti Bohata can be read at the Library. Amy Dillwyn papers 6. Gwen John [1876-1939] is probably the most well-known female Welsh artist – less well-known is her relationships with women, such as Véra Oumançoff. Gwen John manuscripts 7. Margaret Haig Mackworth, 2nd Viscountess of Rhondda, [1883-1958] also had relationships with men and women and is well-known as a suffragette. Books by and about her (i.e. Angela John) can be found in the Library. 8. George E. J. Powell of Nanteos [1842-82], has been written about by Harry Heuser in Queer Wales and New Welsh Reader. NLW Facs 417. – Letters to George E. J. Powell, Nanteos Minor Deposits 1394-97. – Letters to George E. J. Powell from A.C. Swinburne 9. Nina Hamnett [1890-1956] was the ‘Queen of Bohemia,’ a bisexual artist from Wales who was linked to the Bloomsbury Group. Search Nina Hamnett in the catalogue. 10. Ivor Novello [1893-1951] was a popular 20th century entertainer from Cardiff. NLW MS 23204D. – Ivor Novello papers NLW MS 23696E. – Ivor Novello letters 11. Rhys Davies [1901-1978] Rhys Davies Papers 12. Kate Roberts [1891-1985], known as the Queen of our Literature, was married to Morris T. Williams [1900-1946], while he had an affair with Edward Prosser Rhys [1901-1945]. E. Prosser Rhys is best known for his winning poem ‘Atgof’ in the 1924 Eisteddfod, exploring his bisexual relationships. Alan Llwyd, in his autobiography of Roberts, theorised that she may have also been bisexual. Papurau Kate Roberts 13. Margiad Evans [1909-1958] was a novelist who again was married, but it is more well known that she had a relationship with Ruth Farr, while her novelists explore themes of sexuality. Her novels, manuscripts and autobiography are at the Library, as well as writings on her, such as by Ceridwen Lloyd-Morgan, and her archived papers and letters: NLW Facs 870 – Margiad Evans Diary NLW ex 2790 (i & ii) – Margiad Evans family papers Margiad Evans Papers Margiad Evans Manuscripts NLW MS 23893E. – Margiad Evans Letters NLW MS 23994F. – Poems by Margiad Evans 14. Jan Morris. [1926-] is a Welsh writer and historian, and trans woman. She wrote Conundrum on her experiences with gender transition, as well as books on Wales, and is an important and influential Welsh LGBT figure. Jan Morris Papers
There are many more LGBT+ people from Wales increasingly being written about in queer history and Welsh history. John Davies was a leading Welsh historian who was LGBT and Jeffrey Weeks is a leading sexuality historian from the Rhondda. Other sources used by Welsh LGBT historians, such as Shopland, are newspaper articles, such as those available through the Welsh Newspapers Online. Mair Jones, MA History of Wales, Aberystwyth University. Further Reading Osborne, Huw. Queer Wales. Shopland, Norena. Forbidden Lives. Tate, Tim. Pride. Weeks, Jeffrey. Icons & Allies.
Cymru & Mis Hanes LHDT+
Dyma gofnod gwadd gan Mair Jones.
Cymru & Mis Hanes LHDT+ Am bymtheg mlynedd, ystyriwyd mis Chwefror fel mis i ddathlu hanes pobl lesbiaidd, hoyw, deurywiol, trawsrywiol a queer, ac unrhyw un arall gall ffitio i’r ambarél LHDT+. Mae Mis Hanes LHDT+ 2018 wedi gweld y mwyaf o ddigwyddiadau yng Nghymru eto – fel digwyddiad Pride Cymru yn y Senedd
O astudio Hanes LHDT+ Cymru, rwyf wedi darganfod bod y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol yn llawn adnoddau cynradd ac eilradd Hanes LHDT+ Cymru. Bydd unrhyw un sydd wedi defnyddio eu archifau yn gwybod ei fod yn adnodd gwych i ddatgelu hanesion personol – fel hanesion menywod yng Nghymru. Mae hanesion pobl LHDT+ Cymru hefyd yn dal i gael eu datgelu. Mis yma, neu yn unrhyw fis arall, darllenwch darllen hanes person LHDT + Cymraeg, dathlwch, ac efallai helpwch i ddatgelu hanes pobl LHDT+ Cymru.
Dyma bedwar ar ddeg o ffigurau allweddol mewn hanes LHDT+ Cymru y gellir eu hymchwilio yn Llyfrgell Genedlaethol Cymru – i’w ddathlu’r mis hwn, a gobeithio o fewn hanes Cymru.
1. ‘Ladies of Llangollen.’ Rhain yw’r ffigyrau LHDT+ mwyaf adnabyddus o Gymru. Yr oeddent yn Sarah Ponsonby [1755-1831] ac Eleanor Butler [1739-1829], dwy fenyw Gwyddelig a wnaeth ddianc o’u teuluoedd i fyw eu bywydau gyda’i gilydd ym Mhlas Newydd yn Llangollen. Ysgrifennwyd llawer amdanynt y gellir eu darllen yn y Llyfrgell Genedlaethol. Mae archifau sy’n gysylltiedig iddynt yn cynnwys portreadau, llythyrau, ffacsimilïau o’u llyfrau cyfrif, adnoddau electronig a phapurau eraill. NLW MS 21682C – Letters from Ladies of Llangollen NLW MS 23699E, ff. 135-137. – Letters of the Ladies of Llangollen NLW MS 23980F, ff. 24-25. – Ladies of Llangollen letters NLW MS 22768D. – Ladies of Llangollen letters Cardiff MS 2.908. – Ladies of Llangollen Bodrhyddan Estate Papers, Deeds and Documents 57 – Letter: Sarah Ponsonby [one of ‘The Ladies of Llangollen’] to Miss Williams Wynn. 2. Roedd Katherine Philips [1631-1664] yn fardd Anglo-Gymreig y mae Norena Shopland wedi darganfod fel y ‘Welsh Sappho.’ Mae Philips yn un o’r enghreifftiau cynharaf o farddoniaeth o gwmpas ‘gyfeillgarwch rhamantus’. 6. Mae’n debyg mai Gwen John [1876-1939] yw’r artist benywaidd mwyaf adnabyddus yng Nghymru – llai adnabyddus yw ei pherthynas â merched, fel Véra Oumançoff. Gwen John manuscripts
7. Cafodd Margaret Haig Mackworth, 2il Is-iarll Rhondda, [1883-1958] hefyd berthnasoedd â dynion a merched ac mae’n adnabyddus fel swffraget. Gellir dod o hyd i lyfrau amdani (h.y. gan Angela John) a ganddi yn y Llyfrgell.

Papurau Kate Roberts
13. Roedd Margiad Evans [1909-1958] yn nofelydd a oedd eto’n briod, ond mae’n fwy adnabyddus bod ganddi berthynas â Ruth Farr, tra bod ei nofelau yn archwilio themâu rhywioldeb. Mae ei nofelau, ei lawysgrifau a’i hunangofiant yn y Llyfrgell, yn ogystal ag ysgrifennu arni, fel gan Ceridwen Lloyd-Morgan, a’i phapurau a’i llythyrau archif. Graphic novel is a stupid term that often encompasses things that are not novels, but I used it as a blanket term for anything comics I read that were bound rather than stapled. Minis are shorter works, stapled, and generally self-published by the artist, or done by a small press like Shortbox or Youth in Decline. I was totally lazy about crediting creators on series because my actual list for that is a grid, keeping track of each issue. Similarly, when listing creators on trades, I tended to only list writer and artist which is enough for some books, but sometimes there are many more, inkers, and colorists and letterers, and maybe I’ll do better next year.
Support your local library, your local comic shop (especially Hub Comics if you’re in the Boston area), and indie comic shows like MICE.

VampyrZ on a Boat Movie Review
Sara and Max's new whirlwind romance is interrupted by a vampire outbreak on a medical research ship. Max will stop at nothing to get back the girl of his dreams, even if it means several heads will roll.
What do you get when you cross an ex “fixer for the deep-state” with a nearly empty ship that’s been rented out for top secret medical research? An unlikely May-December romance hindered by a vampire infestation, of course! Mark Allen Michael’s new release Vampyrz on a Boat is an oddball “romzomhorrorcom” that B-movie lovers will swoon for. Never heard that term before? We made it up just for this movie, because it deserves a class of its own. Trust us, you’ve never seen anything like it.
When Del (Curt Lambert) asks his buddy Max (Dallas Valdez) to come babysit his uncle’s ship for some quick cash, Max declines. He has a one-eyed cat to care for, after all. But when the beautiful Sara (Carrie Keegan) walks on scene, Max falls in love and changes his tune. Max helicopters onto the ship and steps out onto the deck David Caruso style to some pretty fantastic action music that promises we’re in for a wild ride. Instead, Del introduces Max to his uncle, Captain Bob (Robert Acres), a corny drunk who carries his ancestor’s pegleg around for luck. Between jokes and wisecracks, the Captain explains why he needs the men on board. Someone has rented his ship to run a medical experiment at sea, and they’ve paid big money to ensure it sets sail with only a skeleton crew, and to knock out the ship’s communication system. Captain Bob wants Del and Max to find out what the research is about and to protect his ship.
Del takes Max to his security command centre and points out a mystery that’s been bothering him: high tech heat sensors show the outline of a man sitting in a chair in a locked room who never moves, but he emits a bat-like sound. They join Captain Bob in the medical lab run by Adele (Kate Rees Davies), a mad scientist who doesn’t care who dies on board as long as her research continues. That “man” sitting in the locked room? He’s very old, and he’s indestructible…but he’s also dangerous…and he’s also escaped. Adele wants to use his blood to find cures for human diseases, to stop the aging process, to become rich and famous, and she tells the men to go find him, and bring him back alive. Aliiive!
From this point on, the story becomes very confusing. Max and Sara have already gotten down and dirty at least once and professed their undying love for one another, Sara has been bitten by the vampire and is infected (but Max doesn’t know this yet), there are rando’s with chainsaws popping up here and there, and a dude with a ventriloquist dummy who giggles while he talks. Most of the crew is already dead after an incident in the cafeteria. While Max and Del search for Adele’s vampire, Max is repeatedly bitten but never turned or infected. At one point he takes a hammer to the head and goes to Adele to have it removed, which is one of the funniest scenes in the film. If you miss the gags the first time, don’t worry, you’ll see them again. For some reason, removing the hammer from his skull throws Max into a Groundhog Day-esque time loop that is never really explained. His sanity is questioned in one scene when he tells Del about the time he spent receiving electroshock therapy in an institution, but nothing more is ever said about it. This could have been used to flesh out the “this is all a manic dream” potential the film had, but it wasn’t. Instead, it turns into a loop that only Max is somewhat aware of, which oddly helps to develop his character. With some memory of what’s already happened, Max becomes quicker when he encounters the same obstacles, evolving into a hero that none of us were expecting.
What the film lacks in cohesion, it makes up for with enthusiasm. It’s clear that sound designer Corey Brown was passionate about the project, as was cinematographer Stefan Colson. The musical choices were perfectly matched to every scene, amplifying the action with power rock tunes and exaggerating comedic moments with almost cartoonish melodies. Coloured lighting was used to enhance the anxiety of being trapped below decks in a military sized ship with killer creatures, and tight camera work made the characters’ movement around the ship realistic. The editing of every aspect of the film was flawless. For a low budget indie, the crew used what they had with the expertise of a much larger production.
With enough funny lines to compensate for the cringier ones, Vampyrz on a Boat passes as a comedy. It has more than enough gore for any horror lover, and while more could have been done to help the storyline make sense, it’s fun as it stands.
Fans of old school low budget B-movie creature features will love this one for its silliness, improbable plot, and decent special effects, and reviewers should appreciate the effort put into the production details. Indie creators make films like these for the love of the genre, and Mark Allen Michaels is a master of his art.
