so i finished the naruto manga the other day and i am a normal person when it comes to team 7 (lies)

Rewatching Naruto and...well...

So I decided this year to sit down and rewatch Naruto from the beginning and recently have decided to blast through it (mostly to reconnect with my OC but also to explore things I missed in the intervening years). Today (Mon 10th June 2024), I blew through six discs (Episodes 107 to 135) -- around 8 to 10 hours of watching.

And boy, was it intense.

I knew this arc would be hard. I just never realised how hard it really would be. To see Naruto and Sasuke come to blows, Sakura in the middle and Kakashi being pulled in too many directions due to the loss of so many Leaf ninja during the Sand/Sound attack, was hard to see. But to know that last glimmer of hope for Sasuke vanished because of the Sound Four ended up giving Team 7 three-four years of pain and misery that could've been prevented if things were different.

In the end, despite all those attempts by Naruto, Shikamaru, Choji, Neji, Kiba and Akamaru, Lee and the Sand Siblings, despite Kakashi ignoring Tsunade after finding out to get there as fast as he could...the outcome was inevitable.

Sasuke left.

Team 7 was broken.

And three to four years of misery ahead for all of them.

You can only imagine how much I, despite being male, was emotional and virtually in tears throughout this arc. We all know what's coming next but can we really hold back in Choji and Neji's fights, Gaara and Lee in fighting Kimimaro, Naruto and Sasuke in the Valley of the End.

Even Sasuke's own struggles to let go and be with his new family instead of pursuing Itachi to its end. But to know that Sasuke couldn't go through with it in killing Naruto in the end, the light that shone on the boy and fading made me think that perhaps if things had been different down the line, Sasuke would've come back to the Leaf. Because he knows that Naruto gave it his all to bring him home and he refused to kill him. They weren't just teammates or even friends. No, they were brothers. Sasuke lost Itachi but he had Naruto. And that was a bond he kept. And it was one that would save him.

It saddens me how much rewatching has hurt. Naruto, Sasuke, Gaara, Neji and Hinata. Their circumstances were out of their control.

Naruto: because of being the jinchuuriki of Kurama and misunderstood because the Third Hokage clearly didn't care enough about him.

Sasuke: because of Itachi making him a pawn in his own game to make his brother into a tool to end his own life (regardless of the reasons why Itachi did it, I show no sympathy for him. Mind-screwing your own brother and damaging him into Orochimaru's clutches didn't help).

Gaara: because Rasa is a d*ck.

Neji and Hinata: two young children caught in circumstances they couldn't fully comprehend because Hiashi had to be a harda** (though I wonder how much his own father, the unnamed elder, didn't help).

I'm glad, despite how emotional I feel (the tears burn my eyes right now), that I decided to do this. Rewatching and blasting through this arc (28 episodes in one day), makes me optimistic for the future as I continue to go through the series (even the fillers because I might as well since I'm being my OC in this as well). The image of young Naruto and young Sasuke using the arms they will lose in the future making that gesture of comradeship will guide me on the way.

I have a busy couple of months ahead since I planned out the remainder of Part I (136-220, plus the two movies) to go through then onward to Shippuden and the 8 movies over the Sundays through Tuesdays until Monday 26th August 2024 since those are my nights off work.

Sakura Haruno fic recs: ANBU

AHHHH!!!! I love ANBU fics, especially when they involve Sakura. It was such a cool concept, which was unfortunately never fully expanded upon. However, our lack of knowledge regarding the shadow corps allows for some really cool fic ideas since authors can take creative liberty on the structure and workings of the division.

In my opinion, Sakura had the most potential out of team 7 to join ANBU (at least more than Naruto). It's all about being discreet and efficient and although she wasn't strong during og, she possessed abilities that would be valuable for this. Her clever mind, chakra control, and genjutsu potential would've made her a good fit. Naruto was too flamboyant and Sasuke was too reckless and cocky, but this is just my take. However, with her new skill set from her training with Tsunade, I don't think she would be able to go down that path anymore.

It's been a while since I've read Five Kingdoms for the Dead, but I just remember it being absolutely great! I'll be honest, I found a lot of the mind stuff pretty confusing at times, but it was still enjoyable. Also, some great characters are utilized in this fic such as Neji, Sai, and Itachi. Makes me really wish that we saw more of Sakura and Neji working together in Naruto since I think they compliment each other quite well.

Haruno Sakura made a promise. Looking in the eyes of her Shisou and the reanimated Hokage, she took on the most important mission of her life. Go back in time and try to prevent the 4th Shinobi War. Now, Sakura is back to her 5-year-old body, with all the knowledge and haunting memories of the future. She vows to keep her precious people safe and stop certain events from happening, without altering the timeline too much. The trials her emotions and logic put her through have her questioning her very existence, but for the sake of peace, she has to push forward. No matter what.

Trials of Change is actually apart of a time travel series and I have to say that it is probably one of the best of the genre! Now, Sakura is not in ANBU here, but she works very closely with team Ro (Kakashi's ANBU team) and it's a huge part of the story, so I'm choosing to count it anyway. I really adore all of the worldbuilding and backstories going on here in addition to the fact that there are breaks. Yes, the story keeps moving, but there are other things going on, like playdates, and not just Sakura trying to save the world. Also, if you love Shisui then definitely check this out since he has a huge role and his and Sakura's friendship is just so precious.

Nonetheless, Sakura views ANBU as vital to her career as it offers her the highest clearance she can get. Gaining her opportunities for information her civilian-born status didn't allow her privy to.

The story of how Sakura came to be the sixth hogake despite all of the challenges thrown her way. I especially love Sakura's drive in addition to the political aspects. However, be warned that Kakashi is an absolute HATER (in the beginning), but he gets better! The Sixth Shadow is extremely long and I only just recently got to Sakura's introduction to ANBU, so I can't say too much in that regard.

Sakura's growth throughout Daughter of Fire is great and realistic all while pointing out aspects from the original series which were flawed and dare I say misogynistic. I struggled a bit in the beginning to justify her abilities, but overall the story is really well done and the ANBU aspects are quite intriguing.

Such a unique take on a time travel AU and Cut the Head Off the Snake executes it perfectly. Sakura decides that her first order of business is to infiltrate ROOT and that's exactly what she does. Sai, Shin, and Shisui are all great characters and team Ro is present as well. Very good!

Flowers only bloom just before they wilt When Sakura loses her fight against Ino in her Chuunin exams, she questions her ability to ever become a kunoichi, too weak to protect herself, let alone her village One wrongful promotion later and Sakura gets a second chance in the shape of a mysterious new teacher who against all odds is willing to put her faith in a young girl with potential and a willingness to fight. Or- a fix-it inspired fic where Sakura grows to be the powerhouse she was destined to become.

Flowers is a newer series (which has recent updates) and I love it! Critiques are made towards the medical ninja training, which I believe needed to be discussed and it's refreshing to see. In most ANBU fics I've read, Sakura is immediately put onto the strongest team, but here it's a bit different. She begins on a demolition squad, which not only suits her skill set quite well, but is a realistic approach to how she would be introduced to the corps. Anyway, it's one of my favorite reads at the moment and I really like where the story is going.

I don't remember Equinox very well, but I love most works by this author sooo. Anyway, Itachi stays in Konoha and instead it's Sasuke that goes rougue. Sakura, Naruto, and Shikamaru are newly joined ANBU members and all placed on a team with Itachi and things go from there.

Of course that was not appealing to him. Ever unpredictable to the end he had a counter offer. One that the Sage had to consider. In which Sakura's going to have a rough time. A really rough time.

Sakura is probably one of my all time favorite fics because the emotions are just spectacular. The story is pretty heavy on ANBU and ROOT aspects, which I always enjoy, but I wouldn't say it's a major focus. However, there is an emphasis on the unfair treatment towards kunoichi. Anyway, the characterizations and storytelling are beautifully done. Please share this author some love.

I love the details. Things are included for a reason in narratives a.k.a the curtain isn't just blue.

Imagine the same page but with the panels marked with a red x ommitted and then compare the narrative effect.

The semantic "core" of the page remains the same. Naruto still has something important to say to Sasuke, but with the details ommitted, the difference is quite clear. Kakashi's shock ("Naruto... !") communicates alarm. It contributes to the pattern of Naruto's actions for Sasuke being regarded as above and beyond. Kishimoto routinely used multiple characters to explicitly lampshade the fact that Naruto's behavior was atypical and beyond the scope of normal friendship.

Even Naruto's masculinity was directly attacked, an example of which you can see in this post [here].

Removing Kakashi's alarm makes Naruto's desire to further communicate with Sasuke would just make Naruto's actions seem more normal — like standard fare. You can tell this is the story that dudebros who were upset by Naruto's off-putting actions would have preferred to read instead of repeatedly being hit over the head with the fact that Naruto chasing Sasuke questionable. And you can see a snippet of how disgusting NH fans acted below because Naruto chose to divert from their expectations.

Additionally, Obito mirrors Kakashi narratively in this moment and loosely stands as Sasuke's guide and "voice of reason." Kishimoto *could* have written this scene without the crossed out panels. Maybe he could have kept the same panels and instead replaced the question mark meant to signal Obito's confusion with only ellipses. But he chose to have Obito show confusion and surprise at Sasuke choosing to remain and listen to Naruto despite being in a vulnerable position and having no incentive to. His actions are also framed as atypical and perplexing, and the reason for this is quite clear. It's meant to show that even when he and Naruto stand opposed, Sasuke is not indifferent to Naruto. This is a fact even more blatantly reflected in the narrative immediately afterwards when Naruto tells Sasuke that he's his friend and puts a chink in Sasuke's armor + elicits a strong emotional response parallel to the scene in VOTE 1 when Naruto first told Sasuke he was his friend.

Because Sasuke is more than not indifferent — he cares about Naruto. And after this moment, it's especially emphasized that he needs to cut Naruto off (because he views bonds as a weakness). It's analyzed more in this excellent analysis by an SNS fan after 639 dropped. [Kishimoto excellently laid out the foreshadowing for what would happen, and SNS fans were able to decode it.]

Shoutout to Naruto fans! Shoutout to Naruto as a manga/anime! And a special shoutout to Kakashi! And Team 7!

Why you may ask? If you click on the tumblr year in review banner, it ranks tumblr tags for the year. In the anime/manga category, Naruto came in 9/100! Why, you may or may not ask, is this so awesome? Well, because if you look at the results, you’ll see that almost (almost!) everything ranked higher is either still actively airing or recently ended (One Piece, JJK, Dungeon Meshi, MHA, etc…), so a lot could be said for recency bias, which is natural and expected. If it wasn’t that way, that would be newsworthy.

And that is why Naruto gets a shoutout! Manga/anime hasn’t actively aired/been produced in a decade and recently celebrated it’s 25th (yes, it’s been 1/4 of a CENTURY since Naruto originally aired) and is still 9/100!! That says a lot about its fan base. A LOT. Go Naruto fans!

As for Kakashi and Team 7, in the anime character chart, Kakashi was ranked 54/100, with Sasuke ranked 56th, Naruto, 63rd, and Sakura 79th. So, all of Team 7 made the top 100, with Kakashi placing highest out of any Naruto character. Sensei ranked higher than his team, even the main character, so that says a lot about him. Or shall I say, he was tagged more. And if you look at the rankings 90% of the other characters on the list are from anime that are currently airing or being produced or recently ended, which, again, is to be expected. Which means that Naruto characters have withstood the test of time. Go Kishimoto! As the ranking said, to paraphrase “you all created a lot of polls, wrote a lot of fic, made a lot of art!” And talked a lot about these things!

So I gave myself the task of collecting posts from all Sasuke fans and neutral critics of the work 'Naruto' that talk about Sasuke and his relationship with the other Naruto characters. I have also included my contributions, such as questions to other users and post responses. I hope this post helps you when you need support when you are debating in favor of Sasuke. Because Sasuke haters say that Haku is simply more tragic and a better person than Sasuke; and Batman too!

What is it about Sasuke that provokes people so much, compared to all the other fictional characters (in and out of Naruto) who have done bad things? Gaara was killing people for fun in part 1, but no one ever complains about him not being punished. Zuko from ATLA burned down a village of civilians, sent a hitman after Team Avatar, and was just lucky that no civilian was injured/killed, but everyone adores him. But Sasuke is unredeemable for threatening to destroy the village?

A back and forth on why Sasuke is a much better realized character, with thematic and narrative depth, compared to Kurapika and Zuko.

Sasuke is the imperfect victim unlike the perfect victims of ATLA and Full Metal Alchemist.

Sasuke's character is too good for the Naruto universe.

Are people upset that Sasuke was going to let the Shinobi Alliance perish?

Sasuke as a feminist icon.

Sakura is a female incel.

Sakura is a narcissistic.

Sakura inserted herself because she wanted validations from people who were out of her league, that's why. She is perfect for self-insert.

The mere idea of turning over an entire manga in your head in which Sasuke hides a raging boner (at age 12) for Sakura is... repulsive. Don't you have anything better to do?

Sasuke never kissed Sakura.

The blow on the forehead is not the maximum expression of love.

Naruto Gaiden is a fucking masterpiece! It proves that Sasuke doesn't love Sakura.

Sasuke retsuden is not canon.

Sasuke retsuden is not canon, Jun Esaka herself said it and if you are a fan of Sasuke it is normal that you hate Sakura because Sasuke is unhappy with her.

Sasuke still considers Sakura inferior.

Sasuke didn't push Sakura away because of the curse of hate.

Sasuke rejected Sakura, Ino and Karin, he didn't push them away because he was afraid.

Sasuke is not in love with Karin and did not have sex in part 2 with Karin.

Why Karin's fans say she had sex with Sasuke in part 2.

What does Kakashi know about the genocide and the physical and mental torture that would lead the child victim to a fatal coma, at the hands of a family member?

Naruto is a narcissistic.

Why Naruto is the worst character.

How can anyone read the two chapter panels showing two very different worlds the characters occupy and be surprised by the way it ended? They were not going to reconcile since the world where Sasuke exists is the antithesis of the world where his former team resides.

Lee was never "good” at Taijutsu, let alone being a genius at it. The series' main theme, revolves around bonds. When the manga began, Naruto let loose Kurama (unintentionally) against Haku, breaking all Ice Mirrors that ... no Jutsu could break; and that, happened way back in the Waves Arc. How does that associate "hard-work" with Naruto's character, upon whom many poor souls project their misfortunes to feel vindicated, when two geniuses (Sasuke and Kakashi) in the near-vicinity failed? Naruto powered through this via nothing but brute force; and that isn't a precursor to hard-work. That's the exact opposite. With the beginning of the next Arc, the "if we work hard, we could beat all odds, too" trope lovers got their kicks from Sasuke's humiliation at Lee's hands (or gates?); but then they conveniently forget that Lee himself stated that what Sasuke accomplished was literally impossible for someone like him (he even emphasized on this argument). Gai even went so far as to state that even with the Sharingan's power, Sasuke should never have been able to do what he did (he literally invented his own Taijutsu maneuver from Lee's in a single day; if that's not prodigious, I don't know what is); and Gai, last I checked, is an authority on the subject of Taijutsu, not you—yes, you! Sasuke mastered Kimimaro's CS in under two hours whilst Lee survived simply because Kimimaro was dying and he literally died whilst delivering a death-blow to Gaara and Lee; so thematically, narratively, and metaphorically, Sasuke matched an adversary against whom both Gaara and Lee lost? That and Lee was outshined by Sasuke twice in a row, going so far as to undermine Lee in his own life endeavors that involved years of sweat and tears?

Shikamaru's revenge is meaningless unlike Sasuke's.

People who support Nagato but vilify Sasuke sound a lot more idiotic than they think.

In defense of Fugaku.

How does Sasuke's revolution develop?

Why didn't the narrative validate Sasuke's radical change from Konoha's Will of Fire to the Revolution?

Itachi massacred the clan out of conscience.

The difference between Kushina and Itachi is not that big.

The brilliant change of perspective and theme between Hebi and Taka Sasuke; and that there is no writing defect in the moment in which Sasuke stabs Karin to reach Danzō.

Tobirama never accepted the Uchiha as true allies like Hashirama did, never trusting them, something he admitted so openly that his brother had to warn him "not to continue pursuing the Uchiha." And the Uchiha weren't planning to kill innocent people, they were planning to take over the government itself.

Fanfiction Outline for Kakashi x Y/N: "Steamy Encounters"

Chapter 1: The Unexpected Mission

Summary: Kakashi and Y/N are assigned a joint mission involving reconnaissance in a remote mountain village famous for its hot springs. The village harbors strange rumors about chakra-infused waters. While staying undercover at the hot springs, they both begin to realize their feelings, but in a hilariously awkward way.

Chapter 1: The Unexpected Mission

The morning sun barely peeked through the high windows of the Hokage’s office as Y/N stood in front of Tsunade’s desk, waiting for her mission details. She shifted slightly, glancing around the room, trying to look focused. But her thoughts were drifting somewhere else entirely.

“Y/N, are you paying attention?” Tsunade’s voice pulled her back to reality.

“Yes, Lady Hokage,” she replied, straightening up.

“You’ll be going to Hotsuki Village,” Tsunade continued, unfazed. “There’s been talk of unusual chakra activity around the hot springs there. Your mission is to go undercover, investigate, and report back. Nothing too difficult.”

Y/N nodded, her mind finally back in the moment. Undercover at a hot spring? That didn’t sound bad at all. She could use a break, especially after the last mission.

“There’s one more thing,” Tsunade said, a glint in her eye. “You won’t be going alone. Kakashi will accompany you.”

Y/N froze for a second. Kakashi? Of course, it had to be him. The legendary Copy Ninja, calm, mysterious, and impossible to read. They’d been on missions before, but the thought of spending days at a hot spring with him felt…different.

Before she could say anything, a familiar voice interrupted her thoughts.

“Ah, I see I’m right on time.”

Kakashi appeared at her side, his usual lazy posture in full effect, one hand holding the latest volume of Icha Icha Paradise. He offered her a sideways glance, and though his face was masked, Y/N could swear she saw his eye crinkle in amusement.

“Ready for some R&R, Y/N?” he teased, his tone light.

Y/N rolled her eyes, trying to hide the heat creeping up her neck. “It’s a mission, Kakashi. Not a vacation.”

“Of course, of course. Let’s go then, shall we?”

The trip to Hotsuki Village was quiet, though not without a few moments of awkwardness. Y/N had never been particularly good at small talk with Kakashi. He always seemed to be in his own world, making it difficult to know what he was thinking.

The village itself was nestled between two large mountains, and the scent of sulfur and steam hit them as soon as they arrived. The hot springs were famous throughout the land, and the village was bustling with tourists.

“We’re supposed to go undercover,” Kakashi reminded her as they checked into a local inn. The innkeeper, an older man with a crooked smile, handed them a key. Y/N didn’t think much of it until they reached their room.

“One room?” Y/N blinked, staring at the single bed.

Kakashi scratched the back of his head, looking unfazed. “Looks like we’ll have to make do.”

Before she could protest, he was already placing his things on the far side of the room. “I’ll take the floor,” he said nonchalantly. “You should get some rest. We’ll check out the springs tomorrow.”

Y/N felt her face heat up but nodded stiffly. She didn’t trust herself to say anything without stammering.

The next day, they arrived at the largest hot spring in the village. Tourists were lounging in the steaming water, and the sound of relaxed laughter filled the air. But beneath the surface of relaxation, Y/N could feel something off.

“I can feel it too,” Kakashi murmured, standing close enough that she could feel the warmth of his body next to hers. “The chakra is strange. Almost… alive.”

“Maybe we should investigate further,” Y/N suggested, glancing around. “But without raising suspicion.”

Kakashi gave her a lazy smile. “What better way to investigate than to experience the springs ourselves?”

Y/N’s eyes widened. “Wait, you mean—?”

Before she could finish, Kakashi was already stepping toward the entrance, waving at her to follow.

Moments later, Y/N found herself submerged in the warm, steaming water of the hot springs, a towel loosely wrapped around her body. The water was soothing, but the chakra felt like it was dancing against her skin, prickling with strange energy.

She glanced at Kakashi, who sat a few feet away, his mask somehow still in place even in the water. His eyes were closed, but she could tell he was just as aware of the strange sensation as she was.

Suddenly, the water bubbled. Y/N felt something brush against her leg, and she tensed.

“Kakashi, did you—”

But before she could finish, the water surged again, and with a splash, Y/N was suddenly pulled underwater.

End of Chapter 1

What do you think of obito? Do you think that, if given care and time [writing wise], he could be redeemed?

This is no hate to obito fans at all, but i genuinely hate that man. I don't even care that he was manipulated. not a single character reacted with enough anger, you cannot tell me gai wouldn't be fucking PISSED for kakashi because HE saw how guilty and suicidal kakashi was. HE dealt with the aftermath. (also if he knew obito helped with the uchiha massacre and the 9 tails attack..... gai, obliterate this bitch). kakashi would have been so angry both for himself, his fallen comrades and friends, AND MOST OF ALL rin. Rin's name being used for his delusions. naruto befriending him when he killed his parents was fucking bonkers as well.

But what REALLY made me angry was making rin know about everything he did and not having a SHRED of anger or disgust towards him. rin would hate him and deserved so much better than being an object for obito to obsess over when she didnt even like him like that

Every other character has handled loss, he lost 1 friend and flew off the handle

I hate so much about the war arc but this is probably top 2. I genuinely wouldn't have hated it as bad if everyone wasnt making him their BFF at the end and then died without putting in any substantial work. The lost potential too, he could have been a great antagonist if everyone wasnt sucking him off at the end and calling him a HERO

There's a post here on Tumblr (I searched high and low and couldn't find it) that explains how sensual it looks with his collarbone standing out against the fabric and his bare shoulders, and I said, "I totally agree with the unknown author." The post explains it better, but that’s the gist of it. Sorry, I'm ovulating-

I stopped reading when op brought up "the truth about itachi?" panel as proof that Sakura can't be judged for not knowing. But okay, I will explain this in more details AGAIN.

1. The difference in how Kishi portrayed Naruto/Sakura reasoning with Sasuke

Naruto's reasoning why Sasuke shouldn't go to Orochimaru: "He will kill you." Naruto is concerned for Sasuke's well-being.

Sakura's reasoning why Sasuke shouldn't go to Orochimaru: "Revenge won't make you... ME happy." And Sasuke says "I knew it (yappari)" because he realizes Sakura is making this about herself. That's why that line is isolated with Sasuke in the background.

She specifically claims she understood what Sasuke meant yet she compares her pain to Sasuke's entire clan being massacred and taken from him, and takes her own parents for granted.

Then when it doesn't work, she starts to confess her feelings (why the hell she always looks angry when she confesses?).

And then she completely flips on her arguments. So much for "revenge won't make you happy" like she cares about Sasuke's happiness. Unlike with Naruto, whose arguments were very simple, Kishi chose to portray Sakura in this insincere and hypocritical manner. This is a writing choice.

He actually says in Japanese "I knew it (yappari), you really are annoying." Notice how Sasuke always uses "I knew it" with Sakura, it's because his first impression of her being ignorant, selfish and childish was correct. So despite him giving her chances his first impression continues to be right.

2. Naruto's reasoning stays the same

Kishi acknowledged that Naruto didn't quite get Sasuke yet at this point, but his intentions were good nonetheless. He just didn't want Sasuke to die/throw his life away.

3. Kage arc and how Kishi again portrayed Naruto and Sakura differently:

Yes, Naruto reacts like this at first.

Kishi showed that Naruto did care and did understand Sasuke's love for his clan. He also showed Naruto was completely fine with letting the massacre be exposed. He did not care about how it would make Konoha look, even when he didn't know it to be true yet. Kishi wrote this for a reason. Kakashi then stops Naruto.

Sakura, who supposedly "loves" Sasuke, heard how much Sasuke loves his clan, was aware that Itachi had been killed, yet she didn't bother to ASK Sasuke, something Naruto was planning to do, why he is now acting the way he is since Itachi had been killed. She just didn't want to feel guilty about the promise between her and Naruto (because her ego really made her believe Naruto was only chasing Sasuke for her). So she decided to kill Sasuke.

Sakura then hears all this (after her failed attempt to kill Sasuke) which means that there is more to Itachi's case than meets the eye, and that Sasuke thinks Konoha is responsible for what happened to his clan. Yet she still doesn't ask anyone what all that was about because she does not care. Her main motivation was always to get into Sasuke's pants, she never cared about Sasuke's feelings or him as a person, that's how Kishi wrote her. The fact op used this last panel to defend Sakura is baffling to me. She was specifically given an opportunity here, and she just shrugged it off.

4. Portraying Naruto and Sakura differently yet again:

Sakura is given the chance to understand Sasuke wants CHANGE and yet does she care?

Nope, she starts yapping about her feelings and how things can go back to the way they were if Sasuke just stays with her, completely discarding Sasuke's desire for change. Which mirrors the confession she made in part 1. Kishi was showing how she has not changed in ways that matter. She is still selfish, and she still doesn't listen/nor care about Sasuke's feelings. This is why Sasuke calls her annoying yet again.

But Naruto, regardless of the shitty ending, does want change. He was shown over and over again to want to change things for the better. You can't possibly use Boruto to deny this part of his character.

Guess who again discarded what Sasuke wanted and asked to come with him on his journey he wanted to take alone, just for romantic purposes? Guess who later CHASED Sasuke just to be with him, once again discarding his wants?

"Naruto forced Sasuke to come back to Konoha" no he didn't. At no point did Naruto say Sasuke needs to live in Konoha. He let Sasuke leave at the end, and didn't force himself with him because Sasuke wanted to go alone.

People who act like Sakura would be revolutionary when Kishi over and over again showed that not only does Sakura not grow as a person, she also does not care about Sasuke's feelings or change.

Same way, Kishi had Shizune tell Sai that Naruto is not chasing Sasuke only for Sakura's sake. Yet Sakura still thought it was just for her, and thought her confession would make Naruto stop chasing Sasuke, and was shocked when Naruto said the promise doesn't even matter. Sakura constantly discards the information she receives because she just does not care if it's not about her relevance or her being together with Sasuke.

"People celebrate Naruto for doing the same things they hate Sakura for" no we don't, we just read the manga and understand what Kishi was trying to tell, hope this helps.

Upcoming HinaxPairing Fanfics

I've been working on a few Hinata x Male Pairing stories (HinaSasu, KakaHina, ShikaHina, etc.) on and off. I wanted to share previews of the stories I’ve been working on. I don’t have a set date for when they’ll be posted, as I’d rather complete each story before posting or at least complete it halfway. That way, I can update daily instead of sporadically...no waiting days (or weeks 😅) between updates.

None of these stories have titles yet, so I’ll list the theme, pairing(s), and how many chapters I’ve completed so far. Progress is being made, but some have more written than others! I won’t give away too many details, but the themes and brief summaries should give you an idea of what to expect.

1. PR Relationship Story

Pairings: SasuHina (main), SasuSaku (minor, some one-sided aspects due to the PR relationship...don’t hate me! 😭 I promise you I'm not a fan of this couple, but I will write it if it's needed as a barrier for SasuHina), GaaHina

Brief Summary: Sasuke is a model who’s been in a relationship with Hinata (his childhood friend) for three years. He’s placed in a PR relationship with Sakura, a rising pop star, which causes a rift between him and Hinata.

Chapters Completed: 4/20

2. Mafia Story

Pairings: KakaHina (initially the main), SasuHina (arranged marriage), ShikaHina (one-sided)

Brief Summary: Hinata has been secretly involved with her father’s bodyguard, Kakashi, for the past year. However, their relationship is put at risk when an arranged marriage with the Uchiha clan is announced to secure an alliance. (This story was initially planned as KakaHina, but it’s shifting toward SasuHina as the main endgame!) Sasuke in this story has a bit of a playboy streak, inspired by his RTN version. Think of his usual stoic self but with a player attitude. 😂

3. Broken Marriage Story

Pairings: SasuHina (married), KakaHina, SasuSaku

Brief Summary: Sasuke and Hinata were each in relationships, Sasuke with Sakura and Hinata with Naruto, before an arranged marriage contract was found between the Uchiha and Hyuga clans forced them to break things off. Now married to one another with no real love between them, they both engage in emotional cheating: Sasuke with Sakura, and Hinata with Kakashi. Sasuke barely spends any time with Hinata, remaining hung up on Sakura, and typically sees her more often than he does his own wife. Naruto, though hurt by the situation, chooses to keep his distance and focus on his Hokage duties. So he won’t appear much in the story. The main focus is on the dynamics between KakaHina, SasuHina, and SasuSaku. Fair warning: you’re going to *hate* Sasuke for a while. He’s not exactly a good husband here. 😅 I originally planned for this story to end in KakaHina, but I love SasuHina too much (though I’m sure many of you will be rooting for Kakashi for quite some time, even as I'm writing it, I'm rooting for him, haha). Trust me, you really won’t like Sasuke at first. 😬 Also, for those curious, Hinata and Sasuke are in their early twenties, which means there’s that 15-year age gap between Kakashi and Hinata. This will be a recurring theme throughout the story, especially with Mr. Contradicting-and-Jealous Sasuke bringing it up constantly.🤭

4. Roommates Story

Pairings: SasuHina, NaruHina, NaruSaku

Summary: Sasuke and Hinata share an apartment, while Hinata is dating Naruto, who hates the fact that his girlfriend is roommates with another man. Sasuke has had feelings for Hinata for a long time (SasuHina are childhood friends). Sasuke keeps his feelings to himself, afraid of ruining their friendship if it isn’t mutual, and aware that she’s committed to someone he doesn’t exactly get along with.

Chapters Completed: This is a one-shot, and I’m already halfway finished with it.

5. Time Travel Story

Pairings: SasuHina, SasuSaku (brief), NaruHina (brief)

Summary: Set during the Blank Period, Sasuke is in a relationship with Sakura, and Naruto is with Hinata. However, their lives are thrown into chaos when a jutsu goes horribly wrong (not from Sasuke, Naruto, Sakura and Hinata), and two teenagers from the future become stuck in their timeline, claiming that Sasuke and Hinata are their parents. This shocking news shakes the couples to their core, creating tension, awkwardness, and plenty of unanswered questions as they try to make sense of what’s happening.

Chapters Completed: 2/??? (This might end up being a short story, though I haven’t decided on the final chapter count yet.)

6. A Rewrite of a ShikaHinaSasu Story

Pairings: ShikaHina, SasuHina, SasuShika (👀), SasuSaku (brief)

Brief Summary: In the original story, Hinata was the new girl at school, and Sasuke was assigned as her tour guide. At the time, Sasuke was already in a relationship with Sakura. Sasuke and Shikamaru couldn’t stand each other, but no one really knew why. It eventually came out that Sasuke and Shikamaru had been in a secret relationship in the past. Sasuke, afraid of being judged or made fun of, didn’t want their relationship to become public and ended up leaving Shikamaru (and somewhat cheating) for Sakura. (This backstory was mentioned in the original, but not shown.) Shikamaru then used Hinata to make Sasuke jealous, a plan Hinata was aware of, though Shikamaru started feeling guilty as time went on. His plan did work, but not how he intended, as Sasuke began to develop feelings for Hinata, and so did Shikamaru, all while Shikamaru still had lingering feelings for Sasuke. It was a chaotic love triangle (or square?) that I’m honestly embarrassed about now. 😅I’m planning to rewrite it to improve the story and smooth out the messy drama while keeping the tension intact. I haven’t decided if the rewrite will end as ShikaHina or ShikaHinaSasu, so stay tuned!

7. Rekindling a Friendship Story

Pairings: SasuHina, NaruHina (minor, one-sided), SasuSaku (one-sided)

Brief Summary: Similar to how Sasuke and Hinata were portrayed as siblings in my ShikaHina story, Shadows in Bloom, this new story takes a similar approach but removes the sibling dynamic, focusing instead on their past friendship before the Uchiha massacre. For those who haven’t read Shadows in Bloom, Sasuke was friends with Hinata (and her family) before the massacre, and when he returned to the village, they rekindled that bond. This story will be set during the Blank Period with a few changes: Sasuke accepts having his arm repaired, he never leaves the village, and Naruto and Hinata aren’t a couple. Sasuke stays in Konoha and reconnects with Hinata, eventually turning their renewed friendship into something deeper.

8. Bonding Over Grief Story

Pairing: SasuHina

Brief Summary: Set after the Fourth Great Ninja War, this story explores how Sasuke and Hinata each withdraw from their friends in different ways due to depression. They repeatedly cross paths at Konoha’s Cemetery and begin to form a connection through shared grief. Sasuke wrestles with nightmares of Itachi, guilt over killing him, and the burden of being the last Uchiha, while Hinata mourns Neji’s death. This will be a heavy story touching on themes of loss, mourning, survivor’s guilt, and unhealthy coping mechanisms. Trigger warnings include suicidal ideation, depression, trauma/flashbacks, and more. The narration will alternate solely between Sasuke and Hinata (one chapter from Hinata’s POV, the next from Sasuke’s), which may make for an intense read at times. I did consider including other characters’ perspectives to show how they perceive Sasuke and Hinata’s behavior, but decided to keep the focus on the two of them. Despite the heavier tone, there will be moments of hope as the story progresses. It’s also likely to be a slow burn, as I want to keep their emotional journey as realistic as possible.

Out of all these stories, the Broken Marriage story and the Bonding Over Grief story, are the only slow burns, but the Broken Marriage story will be longer. I can’t wait to start posting these, but for now, my main focus is completing Glass Tears. Once I’ve finished at least half of the chapters for any of these upcoming stories, I’ll start posting!
