Hiii, I’m so sorry to bother you. But I read a Sakura fanfic from ur page that I can’t for the life of me remember the name of 😭
I remember some parts of it,
Like that it was pre Genin, and Sakura was basically just thrown at T&I for a field experience assignment, and Ibiki gave her to Anko, Sakura also had a older brother whotought her how to water and tree walk.
And Anko thought Sakura was like a genius prodigy who went under the radar. Sadly that’s all I remember abt the fic.
Is it possible that you could give me the name of it? Sorry and thank you! 😔
Hi Anon!! Please don't be sorry, it's always a treat when I get an ask!
I have a few possibilities for the fic you're searching for.
The first that comes to mind based on your description is Satori (Between the Lines) by Jaylene. Sakura doesn't have an older brother in this, but it's set during the academy where she's assigned to work in T&I. Ibiki teaches her pretty early on how to tree walk. At first, it might not seem like Ibiki and Anko are super involved with Sakura at T&I, but that does change. If I remember correctly, I believe Anko does consider Sakura a prodigy and wants to keep it on the low.
Sakura hangs out a lot with Torune in Satori and he's a bit older, so maybe this could be the older brother that you're thinking of.
Another fic that could be the one is Stumble by writer168! This one is actually a time travel AU and Sakura does get involved at T&I while in the academy. Genma is sorta a big brother figure here and Anko and Ibiki are both involved as well.
However, I think that Satori probably matches your missing fic the most closely.
Let me know if this is the one you're looking for!

Wait, you’re so right. Cinnamon is literally everywhere 😭😭
I love it, but wow it would be so hard if you’re allergic. Pretty much everywhere has got some special fall thing with cinnamon somehow included
Unfortunately, the summertime sadness is hitting me this year as well. So, here’s some cats I saw today

“Sakura’s horrible she broke off her friendship with Ino over a boy™️“
No. If you actually understood her character, you would know they didn’t simply “stop being friends“, it’s a lot more complicated than that.
1. Sakura greatly admired Ino.
2. Sakura felt inferior to Ino, like she was in her shadow (a struggle she deals with even around Naruto and Sasuke, jealousy over their progression).
Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. Sasuke was just the tip of the icesperg, and Ino was fully in on it as well, if you remember the irritated look Ino had on her face when she found out Sakura had feelings for the same boy she herself had feelings for.
4. Their friendship wasn’t broke off, it became a rivalry, like Sasuke and Naruto had, like even Konohamaru declared to Naruto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
5. She did this so she could at least become Ino‘s equal instead of looking to her to continue to protect her, she wanted to become her own independent person, as a means of respect to the one who’d given her so much confidence to blossom.
And gaining her acknowledgement meant more than most really even understand, just as Naruto wanted Sasuke‘s acknowledgement more than anything else.
Because, not only are they rivals, they are best friends.

team minato modern middle school au where kakashi is the annoying genius who skipped like two grades, rin somehow lives in a hospital (no one's sure which nurse/doctor is her parent but. it's one of them. right? it's gotta be. no way did a bunch of worked-half-to-death medical staff accidentally adopt a baby someone forgot about. definitely one of them is her parent. her birth certificate is around here somewhere i'm sure look i'll get back to you once my shift ends in six hours), and obito is the class clown who lives with his awful anarchist stoner grandpa and calls his house "the cave"
minato is a former student of kakashi's dad's friend and he's their carpool driver bc no way in hell would that man be allowed to teach in real life

The Monster(2004 anime) AU with Sakura as Dr. Tenma and Sasori as Johan please
tw: guns & gun violence, gunshot wounds, murder, serial killer, dark sasori
One moment there's cool metal pressed against his head, a pointer finger squeezing the trigger, and thunder ringing in his ears, and the next…
Beep.
There is no heaven, not that he expected to reach one…
Beep.
There is no hell, no burning flames below…
Beep.
Blackness…
Beep.
Whirring, hissing, air escaping at regular intervals...
Beep.
Body heavy, head light, floating.
Beep.
Sobbing. Who would shed a tear for him? It’s a herculean effort to peel his eyes open, cracking them to expose the dim light of a hospital room.
Sasori’s hospital room. Dull and drab and easily disinfectable. Tucked into the bed, sheets pulled up to his chin. His head pounds faintly, ka-thump, ka-thump, ka-thump.
The source of the crying seems to be a head of pink hair, face buried in crossed arms, half sprawled out across the bed, divoting the mattress near his feet. The rest of her sits in an uncomfortable-looking plastic chair, adorned in a white lab coat.
The sounds of the machinery he’s hooked into continue on as she gathers herself back together, wiping tears on the back of her hand and then onto the fabric of her skirt. Pretending to sleep, Sasori eyes her from under his lashes. A young woman—pretty, in the light emitted from the monitors, an ID badge is hooked on to her lapel, Dr. Haruno.
His act works, as the young doctor sighs and begins talking to him, things one would never say to an awake patient.
“I just wanted to save people. I just wanted to help. I was just following triage procedure. I was doing what I was supposed to do.” Her hands fall to her lap, balling tightly in the fabric. “A difficult procedure, but I knew—I knew—I could do it.”
Pausing, she smoothes out the wrinkles she has caused before the confession slips out, barely even a whisper, “I knew if I let your case pass out of my hands, you wouldn’t have survived the operation. You would have died. I saved you.”
Died?
Oh yes, he had been expecting death.
The door opens without warning, no knocks or introductions. Dr. Haruno rises from her seat, turning away from him to bow as a man and woman enter the room.
“Director Senju," Dr. Haruno stays folded over, face parallel to the floor. “It is unexpected for you to be here.”
“We held a press conference.” Director Senju passes by the groveling to pick Sasori’s chart up off the end of the bed and narrows her amber eyes as she reads over Sasori’s condition. “The Head of Neurosurgery made a speech over the outcomes of the operations today.”
“But, I—” Dr. Haruno's brows scrunch together, abandoning her formalities to whip around and face the older woman. “I am the Head of Neurosurgery.”
“You were,” Director Senju flips the page perfunctorily, “and now you are not. Dr. Yakushi was appointed today, just before we went live with the reporters. Currently you are nothing more than an average doctor, with quite the black demerit on your record.”
“I don't understand. My surgery was a success—"
“I told you explicitly to switch patients. Because you did not, now a very important man is dead, and the reputation of this very hospital is now at stake.”
“That not—”
“Not fair?” Director Senju sets her sharp gaze on Dr. Haruno for the first time since entering the room. “Was it fair when you abandoned your surgery team? Was it fair to leave them to pick up the slack you left behind?”
“I was only following hospital procedures for patient assignment…”
“A talented surgeon you may be, Dr. Haruno, but you really are a fool. You are dismissed, this man’s medical team is assembled here for a meeting over his care plans.”
“I am this man’s doctor. I am in charge of his care.” Dr. Haruno straightens with her words, stepping in closer to Sasori’s bedside. One of her hands lands on the bed railing. Sasori’s hand flexes, wishing he could reassure her that he would prefer she remain his doctor.
The man chuckles, glasses glinting, stepping in to take Sasori’s file from Director Senju, “You were, and now you are not. Have a nice night, or shall I call security to escort you out?”
Dr. Haruno looks from one can to the other, grip tightening on the bed before conceding, walking to the door with her head low.
“Oh, Dr. Haruno,” Director Senju calls as she twists the knob, waiting for her to glance back before continuing on, “you should be thankful we are allowing you to keep your job, to come in and patch up whatever gastrointestinal catastrophe walks in the door tomorrow. Probationary, you understand, of course.”
Dr. Haruno swallows audibly, words that come out through gritted teeth, “Thank you for allowing me the opportunity.”
Then she is gone, out of Sasori’s hospital room, out of his life.
“You know,” the man, Dr. Yakushi, says with a smirk, “she really did a marvelous job. The whole surgery floor’s been raving about it in poor whispers all day long. What would the hospital be without her?”
The life she had given him, the one she has traded all her standing for. A karmic debt that could never be repaid.
“Yes, and I'm sure you will continue to take credit for all of her work.” Director Senju brushes by, walking towards the door. “The last thing we need is for her to know every other hospital is dying to have her onboard with them. Come now, Dr. Yakushi, I want a drink.”
Sasori may not be able to settle his debts, but he can be sure to balance the scales a little more in his favor.
The director is easy to kill, she keeps wine stashed in her desk, the kind of person to drink straight from the green-tinted bottle, easy to poison. Dr. Yakushi is slightly trickier, but the man leaves his lunch pail in the workroom fridge, name written in thick black letters to discourage food thievery.
It is pleasurable.
Sasori goes on the run after that, hiring teams to do the brunt of his dirty work as he lives a life worth living, taking out all who have ever wronged him.
It is years before the astral scales must tip back into his favor, as he stands on the roof of a hospital, gun to the head of the man who slipped up enough to nearly get Sasori caught.
A shrill screech of metal hinges as the access door on the far side of the roof opens, a female voice calling out. “Kankuro! Kankuro, are you out here? Please, you should be in bed—”
“Doctor! Run!” The soon-to-be-dead man warns. “Doctor, please. He is a monster! He’ll kill you too! Run!”
“Kankuro?” The voice calls back, louder, closer now. “Kankuro, where are you?”
She rounds the corner, coming into view. Wide-eyed at the scene in front of her, halting in her tracks. “Kankuro?”
“Run—!”
“Dr. Haruno, it’s been a long time,” Sasori draws, itching to pull the trigger and leave the two of them alone together. Alas, patience is a virtue.
“Who are you?” She questions. “Who are you, and what are you doing here?”
“You do not remember me, doctor?” Sasori pulls the trigger, the man’s body slumping to the floor. “Mmm, and here I thought I had affected your life for the better.”
“Akasuna no Sasori. You’re Akasuna no Sasori.”
“You do remember. That does make things easier for me.” Striding towards her, pointing the barrel to the ground and avoiding the growing puddle of blood blossoming. She takes one step backwards and another before he reaches her.
“Please don’t hurt me,” Dr. Haruno begs softly, a choked sob escaping her. “Please, I won’t tell anyone.”
“You do not need to fear me.” He reaches up with his free hand, tucking her hair behind her ear before dragging the tips of his fingers along her chin to tip her face to his. “You saved me. I killed the director and that doctor for you. Don’t you remember? I would never harm you.”
“That—that was you?” Tears glisten in her eyes, beading along and wetting the lashes into clumps. “I saved a monster.”
“Shhh, this was all meant to be, you and I, don’t you see?” Sasori whispers against her trembling lips. “You are hardly the first doctor to create a monster.”

I’m actually considering writing a sakuino fic purely because of that novel quote 😭
The fact that the light novels said that Ino and Sakura would be soulmates if one of them were a man will always be funny to me.

Ya that’s pretty fire
Sakura should have gotten sage mode, not Naruto.
Naruto already had the demon fox /six paths power, Sasuke had the Uchiha sharingan power/curse mark/six path power
We already saw Toad Sage with Jiraiya and then we got to see a Snake Sage with Kabuto. We should have seen a Slug Sage with Sakura! And it would have reinforced the idea that she surpassed Tsunade, especially since Sakura doesn't have a signature jutsu like rasengan or chidori.
Sakura being a Slug Sage would have given her a way to stand more equally with Naruto and Sasuke and would have given the audience the chance to see all three of the sannin's summons sages.

This is really interesting! Naruto’s Japanese VA, Junko Takeuchi, said that she thought Sakura would be the one to become hokage.
Junko Takeuchi Interview
Translasted by Mezzo
At the time of Road to Ninja: http://www.narutoforums.com/showpost…&postcount=963 And now again: “Around when did you hear that Naruto would fall in love with Hinata?” “Ummm, I don’t remember that… when was it, indeed? I think it was before ‘THE LAST’ was made. My only thoughts were something like ‘Ah, is that so?’. Or should I say that I couldn’t particularly predict it? I thought that the most probable outcome would be that maybe he’d stay single. I thought that it wouldn’t be strange at all if he ended up living a life of wandering alone like Jiraiya. Ah, but more than him settling down and having a family, I was surprised at him actually becoming Hokage.” “You thought that he wouldn’t become Hokage?” “Well, people who keep insisting that they’ll ‘become something’ to that extend usually end up not becoming it, no?” (laugh) “Ah ah ah. (laugh) Eeeh, that’s true.” “Right? Nevertheless, I thought that Sakura-chan would become Hokage or something.” From http://natalie.mu/comic/pp/naruto.
Junko is such a Sakura fangirl!!!!! *O*
