At KFC
Is it just me or when we go to KFC and order things with your friends it also doesn’t feel like it.
Physically near but emotionally apart or smtn.
But then one friend casually saying
“Damn, the food so good everyone so quiet.” With straight face and all.
She’s so unintentionally funny. 😆

what people don’t talk about enough in the “is satosugu romantic” debate is the infamous Kfc in which they broke up at. The KFC is in fucking shinjuku. Little known fun fact about Shinjuku is that it’s the seattle ,washington of Tokyo. It’s known for being gay as fuck. There are a ton of gay bars there. I just find it horribly ironic that they broke up there in specific.

Funniest thing to me, like this is just hitting me, about the SatoSugu breakup scene is that neither Satoru or Suguru probably even noticed they were right in front of a KFC doing all that.

KFC breakup.
I’m seeing it from a slightly different perspective which is still kind of aligned with what my thoughts were over what Geto meant when he posed the question:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/c39581cc49e8164bdad4095209b222a6/b5f67cedd56bcf5b-72/s540x810/e74cbc4f30d186ac0be31d91ac745d7b8f65c9a2.jpg)
Are you Gojo Satoru therefore the Strongest? Or are you the Strongest therefore you’re Gojo Satoru?
Was this hinting at how he wanted Gojo to think about who he is, because he cannot be by his side anymore following his choice. Leaving him with this question.
He wished to push him away. Never asked him to leave with him despite needing strength to realise it. Was he intending for Gojo to remain as the Human Satoru, who was the Strongest?
Since he said, “if I were you, this foolish dream would not be impossible”. So he took on the role of what Gojo could’ve done, to do it to the best of his ability, knowing he probably wouldn’t be as strong, but was committed to anyway.
And tried to leave Satoru as the one who could retain humanity? (And he did, trying to realise Geto’s own dreams because Geto did model humanity for Gojo and he made it his own set of morals and philosophy - which he did fulfil as best as he could).
More context:
Spoiler for chapter 261:
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a6418e61f3f588fa171e4358ddd51ea1/b5f67cedd56bcf5b-68/s540x810/d588a724cb86eda50fcd74306dbd65d53c0c6e59.jpg)
I’ll loosely translate:
Yuta says don’t become a monster all on your own, please. Gojo turns much like Geto did in chapter 78.
He then recollects his memory of Geto when Yuta expressed this concern for him, he thought to himself that it was an impossibility to not become a monster on his own. He was left behind then (when Geto left) and then in the white panel, that he has to catch up to him.
I think there is a parallel with how he has decided to proceed with the plan to kill mercilessly. To opt for moral greyness for the sake of his students and their future. Even if it is a future without him.
This is paralleled with what Geto was trying to do. Protect Gojo. Keep him humane. Since, he opted to do what Yuki thought was crazy. Since, he opted to do what he told Gojo not to do at the hideout in retaliation for Riko’s death.
Chasing after Geto could possibly mean he wished to repent for not killing him then and there, but I think it’s more about what Yuta said and the futility of it, with the burden he now bore to fight Sukuna and protect by weatherproofing the future. He had made up his mind like Geto did. Even if he isn’t alive to see it. To try his best for an impossible dream.
He seemed to understand and think about Geto’s motives then, and wished to wield his strength as The Strongest with a solid purpose this time. He would do it to protect those he cared about. He would chase the same dream as Geto. To catch up to him and not be left alone, for this (meaning/purpose) was all he had of his best friend lover all along.
That’s my interpretation anyway. Thoughts?

(anime-only friendly post)
I'll have to reread JJK0 to rly have a stance on this but
At this point I feel like Geto did nothing wrong, even if the worm curse was not drugging him like banana fish (explained here).
Geto was misunderstood. He didn't declare that he was planning to kill all non-sorcerers. Gojo said that. Geto called him ignorant for it and walked away for not being listened to. To have a world of sorcerers could take a gradual path by teaching, by finding those like Nanako and Mimiko (one of the guys in their family was in a similar position, I forget his name rn). Geto traveled far for a family of sorcerers and to remove cursed spirits.
I think his parents weren't killed for being non-sorcerers, but for being a part of that cycle of violence toward them. Geto might have given them a second chance, taking the twins to his parents house, when they got violent. We don't know exactly what went down with them.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/6bbe85d14e7f639d3c2db483bc392dc3/7bee09f2758659e9-23/s540x810/7ff0e1b19429bcb613b8aa2c974bf07c9a80cfe0.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/07ab4e0975a73e729a6479c91fb6db79/7bee09f2758659e9-96/s540x810/db13f66ee2d20fda7f9dba21cf849d7a8f987eb0.jpg)
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/a6b28a2fb9ac3b08f40af6ede4f7817e/7bee09f2758659e9-c1/s540x810/44257160541b6ceee6427ca2aede278428a1876d.jpg)
Gojo continues to have negative rizz (this analysis contains manga spoilers. Tldr, Gojo misunderstands another lover, potentially) so it feels like a pattern to me.
We've often pointed out that Sukuna's love language would be violence, that using his stronger techniques is a sign of respect toward his opponent.
But I'm realizing now, Gojo is the same way - it shows that a partner can keep up with them. We know that Geto and Gojo used to get into fights at school (and Geto even used his curse manipulation technique without notifying the staff first, like he usually would because of the unregistered cursed energy). Geto said fuck the rules, I'm on your level (by your side).
BUT AT THE KFC, Geto didn't pull out a curse. He didn't fight (for) Gojo - not even when he pulled out the hollow purple hand. Geto just told him to choose his own path, there would be meaning in that. That he's no longer by his side. Geto said there would be a point to killing him, but I think it was to follow the order of his execution, to feed into the oppressive system on jujutsu sorcerers. Geto decided to be the one who diverges from the rules of jujutsu society, to decide that some non-sorcerers have so much power that they are as dangerous as curse users, even if they have no cursed techniques.
Geto had come to terms with the separation - they'd been sent on missions alone too often, and he felt left behind by Gojo's growth (along with how different he was since the fight with Toji - they didn't grow closer from that traumatic event, but became distant from there).
I would love to see someone who's fluent in Japanese break down their conversation - to me it reads like Geto is telling Gojo, I have a family now. I have to look after them. And if my parents were just like the group that killed Riko, or the village that beat up and locked kids in a cage for having abilities... Then it's irresponsible of me to let the cycle of hate continue there, just because they are my parents.
Anyway, Geto killed people. He targeted those in power, those with money, those who exploit the weak for their own greed, those who scapegoat innocent children and criminalize sorcerers for the curses' atracks (when the curses are only born from the non-sorcerers in the first place).
First, the village with Nanako and Mimiko.
Then his own parents (which I'm going to assume were the same way, I have my own headcanon that he left his family early for a monastery and then went to jujutsu high but I'm not rly sure what's up).
And the cult - he specifically calls to the stage and kills the man who hired Toji to kill Riko. And had Shiu gather to that meeting the members in positions of power and money.
There's also the deal with Geto calling non-sorcerers monkeys, which carries a gross and racist feeling (at least through a western lense, I've seen so many jokes about him being racist and planning a genocide, but I don't think that's really accurate). We can say that it was sleep learning from Toji. I think it stuck with him for a very simple reason.
Yuki Tsukumo gave Geto an existential crisis by telling him that curses only exist because of non-sorcerers (except for when a sorcerer dies and becomes the curse). Geto knows what curses taste like. Think about going to the zoo - you can smell the monkey area already, can't you? It's very distinct and memorable. It stays with you. The curses that Geto swallows are like that, but even worse. I posted here about the smell lingering in his sinuses and that's why he uses sanitizing spray after seeing Mrs. Sa(i)to and her daughter.
So just like monkeys live and poop and are associated with the stench, non-sorcerers get emotional and leak cursed energy. Others might see and hear curses, and occasionally they might smell (sorry Eiso I know you're insecure about having a musty back but I can't think of another example, maybe this doesn't happen with cursed spirits), but Geto is alone in knowing the taste and making this connection.
Edit to add: "monkey mind" is a term that refers to struggling with meditation, and I am now convinced that's what Geto is so upset about. A monkey is simply someone who does not control their cursed energy, and contributes to the formation of curses. Since Maki doesn't rly have CE, nor a visible heavenly pact like Toji, Geto is assuming that her cursed energy leaks out just like a non-sorcerer's would.
Anyway, Geto still clearly believes that the strong should protect the weak, whether they're sorcerers or not, that's what he spends his life doing.
And when he died saying that he still hates those monkeys - hate is different than genocide. He's been basically eating their vomit for the majority of his life. Not to mention the curses that killed his friends.
Ultimately, though, we don't get to see anyone Kenjaku uses as a vessel live their own life except for Geto. And I don't believe that the worm would have been necessary for most victims - but Geto and his best friend were 2 of the strongest sorcerers. Whoever Kenjaku was living as at the time had to be calculating and careful.
I don't know when Toji got the worm, but I think that Kenjaku needed to use it on Toji himself, and not only as a mediator to pass it onto Geto.
Idk much about Toji's life, but it seems like he was healing with his wife, and maybe he was still taking out curse users (though I want to use that term lightly bc ultimately it's the higher ups who decide who is a sorcerer vs a curse user), but I'm not sure he would have gone after Gojo or Geto or the star plasma vessel without the sudden grief or the worm.
Kenjaku likely was the founder of the time vessel association (which makes me laugh when Toji says thank you founder and shiu is like, ugh he is not the founder dumbass), which is from the Nara era. At the least we know that he was trying to destabilize Tengen. He needed someone to kill Riko. He needed Toji to lose his sense of reality, responsibility. (kenjaku was probably either in that group or sending them messages that they believed were like a sign from god)
So i feel more confident now in believing that Kenjaku did cause Megumi's mother's death. It seemed to happen by the time of Gojo and Geto's first year in jujutsu high.
In the end, love wasn't the greatest curse of all. It was the failure to understand Geto -
And Geto decided that he didn't need anyone to understand. He was giving up on Gojo, and on the rules.
It seems like Yuki Tsukumo and Geto kept in touch, judging by the end of the Shibuya incident. I wouldn't be surprised if one of their goals was to teach more people to become sorcerers or at least control their cursed energy, even if they can't see spirits.
Even if Geto were now curse user witn a death sentence, he still used his technique to absorb curses, a way to remove them from non-sorcerer victims without the stress or violence of exorcism (he didn't have to keep swallowing curses, instead of manipulating the ones he already had. But most people don't have resistance to curses, so he prioritized making things easier for the weak).
I imagine that some of these people got hyped about it, asking to learn, and were able to join a class that might focus on breathing techniques, visualization, etc (even if they could just control emotions better, that would help}. Larue's ability would make him a good teacher, and we really don't know what role he would have played otherwise.

This might sound a bit strange, but I think the real root of what's hurting people's ability to engage fully with the media they consume is the performance aspect. I think that's also a factor which starts grating on us from school, too.
I mean, I like to dissect media a lot. I excelled at school because of my willingness to go along with the performance. I may not have really gotten a lot of what I had to read, but I enjoyed thinking about things like themes and sentence structure and dialogue flow, all that English Literature major stuff.
I also understand that many of my peers did not enjoy this. That it can be stifling to be told to think a certain way about this media and be told again and again that your understanding is just incorrect. Sometimes it can be attributed to a bad teacher who is stalwart in their point of view being the only option, sometimes it can be just a bad fit of a performance. Many reasons all of which boil down to every person having a different brain and life and etc etc.
However, I have started noticing it more and more that public performance gets in the way of digesting media. It's always been an issue, from bad faith criticism to the now worrying booktok trends. As much as I love watching playthroughs of video games and seeing someone's reaction to how it unfolds, I think this key piece of public performance is more of a detriment than it's considered to be. After all, you can horribly misinterpret something for the sake of a joke, to make your audience laugh. You can miss key details while engaging with your audience in other ways. Thoughts about how to reach your audience can influence which games you pick up, how you go through the story, even what decisions you take.
It can be fun, don't get me wrong! It can also enhance some experiences with media. Book clubs are fun! I love playing games with my friends!
But this key aspect of performance hindering your ability to fully digest the media you're consuming keeps coming back to me. How easy it can be to overlook a game leading you to the correct choices, or how you can miss actual plot points by reading only the dialogue and skipping everything else. All in service of forming an opinion to broadcast to the world. All in favour of performing.
I guess it's just another point to be aware of when taking in someone's opinion on a piece of media and how they present their thoughts. How much is performance and how much is genuine? There's always a mix of both in there, you just gotta remember to keep an eye out for both.
#Momo writes stuff#KFC rambles on#Media literacy#This sounds fucking pretentious but it was just a thought I had#Mainly because Mouthwashing vids#Literary analysis brain goes brrrrr#Gotta remember what approach people take to their media criticism#Or their media in general#I'm sure this is nothing groundbreaking#Thoughts to get out of my head so I can sleep

i would LOVE to hear about more of your headcanons if youre willing to share….
I have so many and I love to share them :))) holiday flavored because that's what's on my mind
Chara is a big Christmas fan, not of the watches hallmark movies, and goes rabid over it, but they do really, really like it. It's their favorite holiday, and they dislike the whole capitalism angle, but they really like the other parts of the holiday. It probably goes against canon with gyftmas and all but I like the idea that their presence in the underground popularized it. Monsters were aware of Christmas through newspapers and the influx of decorations that would show up in the dump after said holiday but chara being so wistful about missing it is what inspired asgore to do the whole Santa thing. Mainly I just think the idea of naughty or nice vibes well with charas whole consequences thing and I want more noelle parallels with them <- that one comic hellspawnmotel did with them and noelle is another reason... it vibes so well with how I think chara behaves. Chara trying desperately to convince asriel Santa is real..(he has no idea who that is but is nodding along to the ridiculous things chara is trying to convince him of. )
Kris on the other hand is a total Halloween nerd. Being someone else? Being a MONSTER? yeah that's them. If kris and chara ever were to interact I think the only movie the two would agree on is Nightmare before Christmas before they immediately return to trying to kill each other. I think kris would lean more towards actual dislike of Christmas compared to chara. I also don't think either had good experiences with the holidays prior to being adopted by the dreemurrs, so for chara living with the dreemurrs is like a do-over where they get to experience it how they wanted to. But for kris it's just reliving uncomfortable memories- after the divorce and asriel moving away and dess dissapering- there's just too many things tied up in the holiday that upsets them. They might have started to like it after being adopted but it evolved into an actual distaste for it after everything else.
Flowey also likes Christmas he's really good at giving gifts (the save scummer probably went out of his way to memorize everyone's favorite things and while he claims to hate the holiday he gets secretly really proud when people like the gifts- but alas since he can't be seen being nice he didn't even include a 'from' sticker- except for the gifts he gave papyrus and frisk those ones Said "from: your best friend") issue is after the first two or three years post pacifist he starts running out of gift ideas since people regrettably change and most people don't like getting duplicates so he has to actually talk to the people he wants to give gifts too instead of just relying on his memories- good thing he can still just stalk them and eavesdrop!(the Ole reliable method) He's secretly and weirdly pleased nobody knows what to gift him in return- it makes him feel cool and mysterious. He does get annoyed after the third new pot and the second bag of fertilizer so he starts just heavily and blatantly hinting at what he wants- the second someone asks him directly though he acts like their stupid and will go on and on about how he doesn't need it or how impractical it would be. <- not a tsundere just stupid cringe kid who can't fathom the idea of people knowing he likes things, terrible!
Frisk approaches every holiday (including the small vague ones) with the exact same amount of energy- 100%. They are maximizing their holiday output- they want to celebrate everything! They do like some more than others mainly ones that deal with food like Thanksgiving or fun ones like April fools but they put alot of dedication into all of them. Valentines is their chance to practice terrible pick up lines and eat an unhealthy amount of candy (surprise surprise being the savior of monster kind gets a kid alot of Valentines gifts, and birthday gifts, and Christmas gifts, and new years gifts, and just because gifts- basically monsters love them and for the first couple years above ground monsters like just giving them things to show their appreciation- alphys has to keep updating their phone inventory) i like the idea undertale takes place during fall/ late winter and the phone calls take place almost a year after- so for frisk in any non pacifist timeline they are spending the holidays alone :( sad! Anyways- I also don't think frisk had a good time during the holidays either before falling underground so they like getting to experience them to the fullest and with as many people as possible...
#ourgh these r so disorganized heres some thoughts i couldnt fit in:#age wise i think chara is the youngest maybe a few months to a year younger than asriel but the dreemurrs dont know how old they are.#i also think kris and chara were adopted at different ages which also informs their world view. kris probably around 5 at the most maybe 6#young enough to not know the difference between monsters and humans but old enough to know their previous situation was bad mainly they#lived with the dreemurrs for longer than chara ever did so chara never gets that broken pedestal moment until AFTER they come back#chara was probably adopted between 8-11 age wise and i dont think they had the ability to reset while they were alive but thats for another#post. frisk i prefer being a year older than chara but maturity wise they balance each other out <- idk how to explain it#okay real tag time:#utdr#headcanons#chara dreemurr#chara#asriel dreemurr#flowey#flowey undertale#kris dreemurr#kris deltarune#frisk undertale#frisk the human#undertale headcanons#Christmas mention#? pls tell me if their are other things i need to tag this 4 filtering purposes 😅#i will answer the backstory ask! but i need my computer for that one since its alot and goes into my hcs for gaster to explain <3#oh right:#KFC#what the name for all of them...#FACK#??????#hastag my headcanons

I think daily about the KFC breakup and how well the quote « the opposite of love is not hate, it's indifference. » fits with it.
Because Satoru and Suguru weren't hanging out as much as they used to since they were both sent on solo missions all the time.
(Also, Satoru was obsessed with the idea of being the strongest, because as a child, he got told he was all the time. But, despite being the strongest, he lost someone he was supposed to protect. Someone he wanted to protect, and he became terrified by the idea of lacking again. He became terrified of loosing someone because he turned out to not be strong enough to protect them.)
And suddenly, he gets back from an other solo mission, and is told that his best friend – the one that always told him killing must have a purpose, that as Jujutsu sorcerers, they had to protect the weak – killed an entire village, including his own parents.
He wants to talk to him because 'wtf?', but he doesn't know where he is. After getting the info from Shoko, he goes to see him.
And he is mad, because he doesn't understand.
And he is scared – terrified even if we're being honest – because he feels like he's loosing him already, because he hasn't reached out to Satoru directly, because he didn't plan on this ever happening, because he was supposed to be the strongest because he was supposed to not lose anymore people he cared about.
But Suguru... doesn't react. He seems indifferent.
And I'm sure Satoru wished he could talk to him properly. Wished they weren't in the street, the crowd brushing by them, unaware of how fucked up this all is. Wished Suguru could stop for a minute, just a minute, to look him in the eye, and just explain to him, because if he did, then he could help him and everything would be okay. They would be okay.
I'm sure Satoru wished Suguru would take the time. But he keeps turning his back to him, ready to leave as soon as he considers the conversation to be done.
So when Suguru starts to leave, in a last ditch effort, Satoru tries to force him to fight for his life, here, in the middle of the street, because he is desperate. And because Suguru has to react to this doesn't he? He can't be indifferent to his best friend wanting to kill him?
And yet, he his. He turns back around, and leaves him all alone.
And from Satoru's perspective, it just seemed like Suguru didn't love him enough to take the time, because why else wouldn't he give him a proper fucking goodbye??
But, what I'd like to believe though, is that Suguru showed indifference because he was scared to see Satoru's reaction if he didn't. Because he knows Satoru, and he knows how stubborn he can get. Because he knew he wouldn't, and couldn't understand. Because he knew Satoru would try to pretend like it could be fixed, but – even if Suguru regreted doing any of it – he killed an entire village, how could it be fixed?
I'd like to believe he turned his back so easily, not because he didn't care, but because it would have crushed him, to see Satoru's pleading eyes and breaking heart, as he gave him a proper goodbye.
I'd like to believe Suguru's indifference was just a facade, to help make the breakup just a little bit easier for him.
Because Geto Suguru loved Gojo Satoru till the very end, and nothing will make me believe otherwise.
Thanks for coming to my ted talk and reading all of my brainrot.

Can't believe Satoru had asked Suguru "should we kill these guys" and at the time Suguru was his moral compass.
Then when he loses that moral compass, Satoru was about to Hollow Purple a whole street of people just to attack Suguru.
