Juan Carlos Lara at KQED:
The Federal Communications Commission is investigating San Francisco-based KCBS for its coverage of immigration enforcement actions in San José last month, sparking concerns from press freedom advocates and drawing right-wing backlash to the radio station. In an interview on Fox News, Trump-appointed commission chair Brendan Carr said he opened the investigation after KCBS shared the live locations and vehicle descriptions of immigration officials on Jan. 26. “We have sent a letter of inquiry, a formal investigation into that matter, and they have just a matter of days left to respond to that inquiry and explain how this could possibly be consistent with their public interest obligations,” Carr said. First Amendment advocates worry the FCC investigation will have a chilling effect on news organizations reporting on the Trump administration’s mass deportation plans. “Law enforcement operations, immigration or otherwise, are matters of public interest,” said David Loy, legal director for the First Amendment Coalition. “People generally have the right to report this on social media and in print and so on. So it’s very troubling because it’s possible the FCC is potentially being weaponized to crack down on reporting that the administration simply just doesn’t like.” Loy worried that the move could deter other news organizations from pursuing reporting critical of the Trump administration. “It’s an intimidating exercise. The process is the punishment,” Loy said. “Even if charges are never filed, people have to look over their shoulder to wonder, is the government going to come after me because I report something that the government doesn’t like me to say?”
[...] Last year, Carr criticized his own commission for voting to approve part of Audacy’s bankruptcy reorganization plan that would involve the investment firm founded by billionaire George Soros, a donor to liberal causes and a lightning rod for the right wing. Soros Fund Management bought much of Audacy’s debt during the reorganization process, Bloomberg reported. This drew the ire of Carr and other conservatives, and Carr vowed to take another look at that decision after being tapped by Trump to lead the FCC. The clashes with KCBS and its parent company are only the latest confrontations between President Trump’s FCC and media organizations.
FCC Chair Brendan Carr’s war on the free press goes marching on, as the agency is launching a meritless investigation into San Francisco AM radio station KCBS over its coverage on ICE raids.

King Candy's Trans Coding (hear me out)
The fact Turbo could've coded any look for himself, and yet he went with King Candy, an identity that embraces aspects of femininity. Gender nonconformity probably wasn't the intention- his design has more of a focus on being royal. Aka. "I'm superior to everyone." But even those outfits are more feminine-leaning, with the tights and frilly-lace fabric y'know. Not to mention his mannerisms. Being a silly clown guy is Not in fact a part of the gender binary
Also Turbo never seemed uncomfortable with his new identity as King Candy, and not only did he embrace it- He was OBSESSED with it. He put his FACE on EVERYTHING.
like what the fuck even is this.
But one thing for sure is that King Candy doesn't resemble anything like his old self. That might've been out of necessity to stay hidden, but the "hiding old self and presenting in a new way" theme is Still There. And that new presentation happens to incorporate aspects of gender expression his previous identity did Not have. (am i looking too deep into this? perhaps.)
OH BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT PART.
I find it interesting King Candy was never appalled by his new Cybug form. Cuz when encountering Ralph it was never: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME...
It was: LOOK WHAT YOU DID TO ME :)
it was EUPHORIC for him. Because he IS a monster. "BECAUSE OF YOU RALPH, I'M NOW THE MOST POWERUL VIRUS IN THE ARCADE!!" This form finally reflects his true self and what brings him the most joy. and that just so happens to mean being parasitic, powerful, and sadistic. which. well he should work on that
But what matters is he's in a drastically different body now and he LOVES IT. this is literally the HAPPIEST he's been ALL MOVIE. Is That Not a form of Identity/Gender Euphoria.... ? ??
turbo is evil trans coded you can't convince me otherwise. also i wish i was him
#i need to . do something else#'look what you did to me' is driving me crazy.#analysis#king candy#kcb#king candybug#queer coding#wreck it ralph#cybug king candy#cuz like transformation sequences in horror movies are like OH GODDD WHAT AM I BECOMING I HATE THIS BODY GRAAAA#but for him he’s like. Teehee this is awesome + I love killing

I'm always happy when people read my tags but ESPECIALLY because I know we are so on the same wavelength here kjkjkjk
It's very blink and you'll miss it but during their fight, Ralph does try to push him away and punch him (in the face, no less) but Candybug freaking blocks and catches it into his talons. The Cybug virus enhanced not only his strength and speed but also reflexes.
#It's the confidence. The sheer joy he exudes.#I don't care that that joy comes from tormenting the hero. It's just too fun#His energy is infectious as hell and seeing KCB just bein his horrid self fills me with so much unbridled joy#Evil though he may be he's for once being ENTIRELY HONEST in who - WHAT - he is#And I know that even as KCB - with all the pure destructive potential now vested in him - he would still GLADLY soak up adoration#Because attention is the whole reason he STARTED this one-sided feud with any game he perceived to be encroaching on his niche#So in short. Worshipping the bug = good for this hypothetical diet cola-less arcade#A calm KCB means obliteration is taking an extra self-care day and rescheduling for some other time#I volunteer#King Candybug#King Candy#I cannot be normal but at least I can be at peace knowing I am in good company here

Rbti rewrite post :] (was gonna be more but I’ve had an eventful day.. will say later ofc)
Closeup of KCB, some more evolution of lore, and my day below cut!
((If I had the choice to redo this bug piece it would be to turn off his glowy eyes. Plot reasons. Also sorry I only ever post sketches, I fear if I do more it’ll sap my energy to get content out at ALL so))
I will say the plot has been wavering a LOT! I’ve been talking with some of my irl friends (all of them have lovely story writing or creative backgrounds which is amazing) and so it’s being patched significantly. Still not 100% finished, that’s why I haven’t made an entire lore post yet!! There’s a lot of loose ends and placement that needs to be figured out. But I feel like it’s only appropriate to state some at least :] you guys have given me amazing feedback and showed interest and I can’t thank you enough!
The “big bad” has been juggled around. I do like BEV, her motives are a little grey and need to be strung together accurately and cohesively. I also don’t want a twist villain, as much as that’s amazing I am not trying to rewrite WIR. Turbo in himself is a “big bad”, always will be, he’s the worst of the worst and completely irredeemable, that’s why the writing is so hard. “How do you put in a big bad that has to contest with one of the worst characters of all time?”
My answer is to make BEV solely target Turbo, and in turn it’s a domino effect for everyone, but then that makes this rewrite a little more Turbo centric than I wanted ((granted it IS because of my bias, but even then I realize he is NOT the main character of the previous movie))
These are out loud thoughts tho!! Def the story is gonna take a route where it’s more Ralph vs(?) Vanellope, where they realize their goals don’t really align but are trying to keep it from the other person (kinda like RBTI actually! But not as ‘drama needs to get in the way to actually make an issue’). Ralph is gonna be taking BEV’s side and Vanellope will be taking Turbo’s side, at least that’s the concept for now!
Talking about my day will be super short. Basically I showed my friend group (who doesn’t have the turbo autism I do, but Turbo has become such a referenced joke in my group. Instead of saying ‘this is my hyperfixation’ we say ‘This is my turbo’) the entire 2hr analysis video (thank you Randomalistic :]) and they loved it! Sat through it all front to back!! And I’m having a sleep over w them tomorrow and having a DnD session yippee!! But that’s the only reason why I’m posting this and not accumulating more for a bigger post.
I AM planning on working on ref sheets and even stuff like a ref sheet for their chat bubbles since they’re all different :] idk this became a super long ramble post idk have some funny WIR-related Jack box things my friend group made you earned it

Kill Switch: Part Eight
He had cut her off with a harsh stomp to the ground, the loud crack of the multicoloured road echoing all around them, his tails lashing back and forth as his full height loomed over Vanellope. She couldn’t be sure if it was an attempt at intimidation, but she certainly wouldn’t put it past him. “I’m sorry, since when are you an expert on who I am?” He snarled back, that bug-like warble sneaking its way back into his voice, “You weren’t even alive back then. You don’t know anything.” “Then make it make sense for me! You mean to tell me that you, Turbo, didn’t consider the obvious consequences that doin’ somethin’ that extreme might have? I don’t buy that! I know you ain’t that stupid!” Despite taking notice of that intensifying snarl lurking in the Cy-bug’s chest, Vanellope didn’t let it stop her. “You had to have known how dangerous that was! Why the heck would somebody so crazy full-of-himself ever do something like that? Throwin’ your life away like that?! You coulda died!” “I may as well have!” He regretted snapping back the second those words left his mouth. The second he saw how Vanellope’s expression had changed from a face of disturbed confusion to something else entirely. Something far more shocked, yet with hints of a look he knew all too well on her. That look of pity that he oh, so hated.

Finally getting into #TheRoadblastersIncident.... The Roadblasters backstory in the movie was honestly one of my biggest pieces of inspiration for Kill Switch as a whole. I won't ramble on about it here, as I explain my view of it in more depth at the end chapter notes, but I hope y'all can still enjoy this chapter for what it is, even if my interpretation of events may not line up with how others might see it. Either way, have some pain and suffering, I guess! Lol (Also I decided to split the Ralph scenes into another chapter because this one was getting long as usual shgdfvjbj, BUT ON THE UP SIDE THAT MEANS NEXT CHAPTER WILL ALSO PROBABLY BE DONE PRETTY SOON DUE TO NOT BEING AS LONG LOL)
ALSO MORE FAN-ART SHOUT-OUTS AAAAAA!!! THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH, YOU GUYS HAVE FIRED UP MY INSPIRATION LIKE CRAZYYYYY AND TBH HAVE MADE ME WRITE SO MUCH FASTER THESE PAST FEW WEEKS LMAO, I AM IN THE ZONE, MY DUDES 😂

Hi! I’d like to ask you a question about your realistic cat partial that you used DMV parts for because I am wanting to make my own partial and my vision for it is just like how yours looks! I was wondering if you remember any tutorials or guides you used making it?
Hey, thanks for asking!
Tbh, a lot of fursuit making for me has been trying out something new and seeing if it looks good. There’s not necessarily any one right way to do something when making a fursuit. However, I do have a few favorite resources that might help put you on the right track:
Matrices.net - This is like the holy book of fursuit making. I’ve been making fursuits for several years now and I still go back to Matrices every time I get confused on something.
DVC’s YouTube - Probably the best resource out there for assembling hard-base fursuits. Even their older videos are very relevant and very helpful.
KCB Creations - Not really tutorials so much as process videos, but they do a wonderful job of showing you the whole process in creating their suits.
I also recommend joining the /r/FursuitMaking subreddit and associated Discord server! It’s a great way to meet other makers of all skill levels and styles.

FCC investigating Bay Area radio station over ICE raid coverage
SAN FRANCISCO (KRON) — The Federal Communications Commission is investigating a San Francisco radio station for its coverage of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activities in the Bay Area last month. In an appearance on Fox News, FCC chair Brendan Carr accused SF-based KCBS 740 AM of broadcasting live locations of undercover ICE agents, calling it “really concerning.”

Thoughts On Another Blog About The Demise Of The All-News Format Of WCBS-AM In New York City.
The further decline of western civilization. Most journalism grads now go into public relations, and the electorate gets dumb and dumber.
Thankfully, KCBS News74 (740 AM, 106.9FM) remains all news, and like NY, traffic and weather every ten minutes on the eights.

Dear Sir Finn,
By the urging of the same gentleman who has been relentlessly pressuring our papers to inquire you popular demands, I must insist that you satisfy the readers' call:
Rumors have it that Lady Lachesis proposed to you,
And you gasped delicately and became lightheaded afterwards!
As this gentleman keeps saying there's no way she would want to have your hand the city is practically taken aback now that you not only bespoke to Her Ladyship, you have also possessed her, and fathered offspring with her also!
Dear Miss Blade,
Lady Lachesis wished to write to you, but she had broken her wrist doing...in honesty, I have no idea what happened, and she refused to tell me. In any case, she dictated this message to send to you though I have taken the liberty to edit it for decency's sake:
For the love of God and loving fathers, please stop listening to that gentleman! He is a [ink smudge] someone whose opinion is worth less than a rat-faced curmudgeon. Better yet, you should forward the tw [smudge] person's information to me. Let him know that I am willing to meet him in Hyde Park, two weeks' time, at high noon. We will du have a nice chat over tea.
As for your newspaper, yes, it is true that I proposed to Finn - but only because he was too dainty in preparing for the proposal. Had I not proposed, we may not even be married at this time. I can assure you that I am the one doing the possessing, not him. And if you send another letter to Sir Finn, I will beat send a complaint to HM The Queen herself.
I suppose you will forgive me for relaying this message to you.
Your obedient servant,
Sir Finn KCB
