Tbh I'm really sick of the take that "but Marinette is 14 and she's so stressed she doesn't want her bf to be sad" or smt like that bcause gdi people THE BIGGEST VICTIM HERE IS ADRIEN NOT HER!!!
Yeah I can agree with that. I think that it IS important to keep in mind when evaluating her actions, but Adrien's the one who has to live with the consequences of both hers and Gabriel's actions, and he's the same age as her. You can feel bad for Marinette for being put into this position, but her world wasn't totally destroyed like Adrien's was. And while Marinette being stressed about lying hurts her, that was a decision she made, she could have chosen differently. While Adrien's having a sucky time no matter what.

Oh, by the way, for this AU, Jason still dies when he's 15.
I imagine the triplets do go into crime fighting, but Jason does it first. He grew up in Gotham, and he used to listen to news on Robin and, when presented with the opportunity to take on the role and help his community, he takes it instantly. Cass and Tim take a little while longer to get on the scene, both scared they'll hurt someone if they go out, but eventually, Babs offers to train Cass, the Black Bat is born. Tim, feeling a little left out in all honesty, starts going out too, but he doesn't give himself a name. The people do, and Red Robin is born from the shadow of his identical brother.
Obviously, Jason can't go looking for his birth mother here because he already knows who she is, but I imagine he does find his adoption records and realises that Catherine and Willis didn't actually adopt him until he was around four or five, and before that he was with a woman named Shelia Haywood. He goes looking for her to find out why she just left him, out of the blue, after almost half a decade of raising him.
He tries to talk to Tim and Cass about it, but they don't fully understand what the big deal is - they tell him not to shake the boat when things are finally good, but Jason just can't accept that. Tim and Cass don't get it - at least one of their parents kept them two, even if they were shitty. They both completely disregarded Jason before he was even a week old. He wants to know why so many adults in his life deemed him unacceptable.
So, he goes to Ethiopia and finds the Joker and the werehouse and the pain.
He's still revived, still taken in by Talia, but when word gets to Shiva and Cain that their third kid is running around the league, they get a little interested. Wondeirng if he can fix the 'mistakes' of Cassandra and Timothy, Cain takes Jason away from Talia, much to Talia's chargin.
Talia and Shiva are pissed, and both head to Gotham to knock some sense into Bruce, who still hasn't realised there's an empty coffin in his family graveyard.
Overall, Jason was dead and missing for almost 2 years, and when he finally comes back, he's still basically catatonic and it takes a while before he's back to himself again, but at the very least he's alive.

I think one of the reasons why the theory that Arya will go away at the end of the story because she’s too far gone to assimilate back into society is so unconvincing is because she literally spends the latest two books (AFFC and ADWD) doing that very thing! Like her training hasn’t been about her being a reclusive murderous hermit. She literally spends the two books talking to people, making friends, integrating into new cultures. She’s around people all the damn time! And even if we bring up her ACOK and ASOS arcs which were rather dark in nature, she’s still around people interacting with them, still being a part of society (even if she’s quite low on the totem pole in those books).
Arya is a character who feels so strongly and whose arc is often dictated by how she interacts with the people around her. So to take that away from her is not only a bad understanding of her character arc (not to be condescending or anything), but it’s also not very satisfying as far as character/narrative progression goes. Because if the narrative has proven so far that even in her darkest moments, Arya can laugh and love and be such a passionate member of society, how then does it make sense for her to go away and be on her own?? How does that make sense when AFFC and ADWD prove that she still loves being around people?

You know how girls have this sixth sense or guts feelings about a guy having ability to be dangerous person or like 'oh this person can be fucked up' . Do you think this is what happen with those 20 girls rejecting shinichiro sano? Like if it was 3-5 I can say bad luck ? But 20? I know most of the fandom say the girls are blind or shinichiro flirting skills are well bad enough making him desperate or it is him being a leader of the gang in Japan where it is seen in negative image. But c'mon universally teenage girls love a bad boy image. I don't think out of those 20 girls didn't find shinichiro sano attractive with all these qualities. I love Shin but 20 rejection in reality straight up a red flag?
20 appears as a funny hyperbole at first, and it sure was used for comedic effects but I agree Shinichiro has unsettling flaws (to say it nicely). Transposing the number '20' to real life could appear off.
Shinichiro is indeed a delinquent (and the leader of a whole gang of them, who reached Japan's number 1 spot - that's not nothing) and is seen by all the characters we know as an endearing idiot with a heart of gold. And yet no girl fell for it. Good for them, they deserve better than making the experience of being with Shinichiro. They wouldn't have known what they'd have signed up for..
Shinichiro is a red flag in himself once you see pass the 'perfect brother, perfect friend' mask. He is a 'good person' but only because his life didn't make it so he saw a point to doing 'mean things' - he's not against the idea, we know about Original Timeline. 'It's because he didn't have Mikey anymore!' I don't think one's morals should be dependent on another's well-being. (I eat that shit up everytime in fiction, and I love messed up characters, Shinichiro fits both and I love that, and i love him, but it'd be daring to say he's a good person knowing everything he did - and knowing we ignore a lot more stuffs). Sure he was a 14 y/o but he still named his gang after an irl ultranationalist organization (knowing how Japan hides and denies its past, I wonder how he knows about that), he brought his 8 y/o brother to a gang meeting when he was 18, his idea of bonding with Izana was showing him how to act like a delinquent, etc. Original Timeline makes him even more of a red flag but considering the additional factors behind his behavior at that time, it's possible to think (and whether it's right or wrong I don't know, interpretations vary and sometimes Shinichiro is very hard to grasp, I have troubles with him at times) his behavior there wouldn't ever manifest had it been not for this exact situation of losing Mikey (and what was left of his family on the way).
And yeah, Shinichiro would never be as violent, impulsive and hostile as when Mikey dies - but those things didn't stem from nowhere. There's definitively crumbs of it even when Mikey's doing well. He's got trauma he refuses to address (parents' death, parentification, ...) which.. I can see as cradle for some toxic positivity - being portrayed as perfect, good and kind until OG timeline, we only ever see him smile until he loses Mikey. And when he tries therapy it doesn't work.
One thing you can't take away from Shinichiro though, is that he's earnest, he has not an ounce of malice in him. If he deceives people (by making them believe he's perfectly imperfect) it's not intentional because he himself sees himself as the image most see him as. That's worse in some way, because he really is unaware of how harmful he can be - he's a red flag but he sincerely thinks he's good, he never purposely intends to hurt anyone. He loves to help out his loved ones and he'd probably do the same to strangers, but he also sucks at assessing their pain or any kind of repercussions in any given context (ex: treating Haruchiyo's 'slashing his friends because they badmouthed Mikey' incident lightly, abruptly disbanding Black Dragon and seemingly not doing anything for Takeomi's distress, downplaying Sanzu's scars, ...). He's an enabler, too. If a loved one were to say '[x] makes me happy!' then he'd let them to [x] even if it actually harms them - he wouldn't see how that can be wrong, since they're happy.
The fact they were so much makes me doubt of the seriousness of his feelings I have to admit. While he has a lot of love to give and is genuine in his interactions with others (unless they're twisted by denial, ie: OG timeline Shinichiro acting happy and fine), it appears as if he's just desperate to have a girlfriend - without caring who it may be. It seems very shallow, does he even know the girls? If they don't know him it'd explain a bit why they didn't accept. If we restrain those love confessions to his Black Dragon years he has confessed to five girls each year - almost one for each season, one every 2 month and a half or so on average. That's fast lol.
After that we could talk about the possible reasons why he was so eager to have someone; ranging from 'typical teen wishing to acquire relationship experience' to 'thinking he needs to provide his little siblings with a mother figure because he can only fulfill the father figure role' by way of 'needing to save the family's face after their father's cheating get spread' but.. I don't want to develop them more, and they aren't really the topic at hand here.
Another issue that could arose from a relationship is that he'd put Mikey and his family first before anything else - that's a hard true and that needs to be accepted quickly too, no girl could ever be his number one priority no matter how desperate he sounds to have one.
One may say his inability to get girls is a difference between him and Takemichi — the fact Takemichi got Hinata as a girlfriend because she fell for him, got Emma to almost sleep with him, and got Yuzuha to have a crush on him. But we're used to comparing those two silly guys and thinking they both function the same way and by so, Takemichi being an idiot but still good at heart, Shinichiro can't possibly be a red flag. It's the kind of thing the story doesn't make you instinctively overthink, I think. We have clues on how Shinichiro is as a person once we scrap the surface of TR and starts to dig, but we really have nothing about how he'd be in a relationship, how he'd act toward a significant other - and picturing him as another Takemichi is just something that the story makes us do throughout the entirety of it so it feels logical for a time to give Shinichiro the same traits.

I'm still stuck thinking about the fact that that is the softest voice I've ever heard Quackity speak in, especially for a long period of time.
It just. Aouuhhggh. That's all I can say.
He sounded so broken and lost and uncertain, like at first it was like he didn't really even know how to speak, or maybe he was just afraid to hear his own voice after spending so much time surrounded by the gentle quietness of the water he'd been submerged in.
I mean, imagine how much of a shock that must've been to go from pretty much complete sensory deprivation to suddenly being forced out of the calm water into a sickeningly steril environment with bright florescent lights and too-white walls.
No wonder he wanted to just stay in the water, and even when he was above he literally made a little wool cave thing to hide in :( it was so pathetic to watch and I mean that in the nicest way possible

☕️: TFP Soundwave is (a little) glazed. Combat? AMAZING. However when it comes to the idea that he’s “Carrying the decepticons” does he REALLY though? think about how many intruders got into the ship while he was around. A zombie apocalypse happened and he showed up at the last second seemingly unaware of the situation before hand, teleported the problem away and went back to… idk wandering aimlessly.
Like where IS he? I can’t even say he was freaking it up with Megatron cause Megatron was busy and actually PRESENT for most of those situations.
On top of that he may be smart in the sense of decoding the Iacon database, but every single one of Megatron’s dumbest plans such as “hurl a slab of dark energon through a portal so that it revives every corpse on Cybertron and then bring them all here” were plans Soundwave never objected to and sat back quietly watching the shit rain. As if that plan wasn’t dumb as is, later he doesn’t say diddly-doo when Megatron decides to put dark energon into the ships CORE.
He couldn’t replay a recording to advise him like when he told Starscream in megatrons voice to ‘Stop groveling’? Not even idk tapping Megatron on the shoulder and giving him a thumbs down, a head shake, disappointed head droop, head roll, nothing…?
The worst part of it all is that his vow of silence was taken in part because actions speak louder than words. In my humble opinion, his actions seem to be saying “I’m equally as delusional as Megatron”, or worse “my head is too far up Megatron’s butt to step back and see what’s happening.”
Sorry to ramble
So you saw that TikTok too huh /hj
As far as I can see, yeah, one of tfp Soundwave's things is that he's SO loyal to Megatron that he goes along with whatever Megatron says, right? Was I not the only one who saw that?
This is a character flaw of his.

sometimes I really do think we hit peak technology like twenty years ago and we're just doing stupid shit now. Like bro, we fit entire movies and albums onto a plastic disc that our tv or music player just like eats and then we can listen or watch at home as many times as we want? Awesome. That's lit. Literally perfect. But now shit is just like being beamed to us through the air but we still have to pay for it for some reason? and then sometimes even when we do pay for it we don't get to even keep it? and the quality sometimes sucks ass? and also like ai and the internet are lowkey evil? yeah no thanks. I'll take the plastic discs. Those were pretty awesome.

Hello Raven Desertduality I’m currently sitting in my car waiting for my friend to get back. In the meantime I must ask: how you feeling?
I’m feeling alright <3 I’m on vacation and haven’t been online a lot, which is nice but I’m missing my freedom to watch a ton of wild life episodes, I’ve only seen Scar’s so far but I want to sit down and watch Grian’s in a minute :3
As far as the stuff going on with the hermitcraft community, I’m doing okay there, too. I don’t want to talk about it too much bc I don’t have anything new or important to say, but I think it’s being handled in the best way it can be; it’s one of the more dignified and professional responses I’ve seen. Things like this usually set off my anxiety but I’m actually pretty calm right now. That being said I am sending hugs and comfort to everyone who needs it <3

i think i love edg so much bc it is so wildly different from the regular aphelios flavors we get but it’s still so identifiable as phel…. no loose long hair, it’s so structured and short and WHITE all of his other skins keep with the deep black/blue tones and i adore it…. still the same silhouette of broad shoulders and trim waist but his scarf isn’t just pointed at the bottom and his weapons match the same silver filigree theme

okay what i meant when i said that even the copious amounts of blood didn't satiate me in particular is that the dead wife/nemesis thing was never something i was eager to see explored, just because i think it's something a lot of male characters get? to go through? the ooh i'm so tortured someone took something from me and now i can't help but turn into a monster while i'm on this quest for revenge and being smothered by grief ough i might kill them even or others in gruesome ways and then realize i'm still just as empty
because, i think men often feel the role they must take on as a man or as a father (especially the latter) is a burden, a huge one, where they aren't allowed to sit back or let go or forgive to their own and everyone else's detriment.. and i understand why there is demand for the same type of stories or story elements or arcs, and why they work, and this same overall theme can be present in a story where it's dealt with in an interesting way or where there's love and care involved in the writing process and the characters don't feel like "man pain machine #48" and "generic sensitive character who will cradle mr. man pain's bloody face in their hands (when we want to end this arc and show how good and lovable he actually is)"....
idk i'm just saying it's not even a specific problem i have with male characters that avenge their families or seem like they're defined by anger or by a traumatic event, i do think it can be written lazily and that we've seen it so many times it's a bit worn-out now, but i wouldn't be quick to generalize. it's just that, since we've seen this before (and that's partly why they poked a bit of fun at themselves when in rickmurai jack, rick's dead wife backstory was revealed).. to me it's one of the least interesting aspects of rick? and yet it's clearly important to the writers and they felt they had to tackle this part of his character, really emphasize his unfinished business, or treat it like something that must have a conclusion
for me though, rick's brand of fucked up and evil wasn't compelling because something deeply fucked up happened to him and there's a lot to deal with there and that's cool, it was more compelling to me (iirc) Before knowing much about his past. tbh. i recognized him already, he felt real, his worst side was familiar because a man doesn't need a whole event to become controlling and cruel when dealing with his family... social norms and umm systems sort of already operate within the framework of the patriarchy, i think it's built into our collective ideas of society, concepts of gender and family and the rules those come with.. i liked that about rick, that why he was an asshole wasn't detailed, there was no easy explanation for the way that he was, he just was. and every time they chose to drive home that rick's defined by losing his original family to his own alternate self and that he was still chasing this one guy, it was like, well i thought there were so many other components as well to why he turned out to be who he is. i liked it more when it was mundane, because that's what i see around me, that abuse is rather mundane. and i'm much more interested in the harm he's directly inflicted on his current family and how his past might affect his current life, what might haunt him. so i guess i never wanted prime to be taken care of, each week i find myself thinking that i just want it to be rick and morty and their messed up little relationship up close and personal again
