Romance in the House

This series looks at the dynamics of a family where a parent is taken out of the equation only to returns years later. Moo Jin was always getting into trouble, causing his family hardship. Ae Yeon decides to divorce him and raises their children on her own. After years of being out of their lives and presumably dead, Moo Jin returns as the owner of the apartment building where they live. Mi Rae is working and Hyeon Jae is studying, dreaming of his own business. The dynamics of the family of three get disrupted with Moo Jin's return.

I liked seeing how Moo Jin and Mi Rae are able to heal the father-daughter relationship that had been shattered when she was a little girl. I also liked how Moo Jin and Ae Yeon reunite in their own terms. These two parents love their children and I like how they navigate their relationships with them. Mi Rae and Hyeon Jae are placed in situation that help them mature and see their parents in a different light. I liked how these four people reunite and redefine what a family dynamics looks like.

I also like the Nam Tae Pyeong's relationship with Nam Chil Yeol subplot. This another parent-child relationship that was really interesting.

The Ahn Jeong In and Oh Jae Geol subplot was also interesting. . .

Summing everything up, the series is a nice one. I liked the dynamics between the characters. The neighbors are annoying sometimes but they are okay and the main plots and subplots are good. This series is not binge worthy but it keeps the audience interested and curious about what will happen next.

If you like family story plots this one is a good one.

"The Good Bad Mother" güçlü bir hikayeye ve çok katmanlı karakterlere sahip, izleyiciyi hem güldüren hem de yüreğine dokunan bir yapım. Konusu, anne-oğul ilişkisine odaklanırken, intikam, trajedi ve yeniden başlama temalarını bir araya getiriyor. Dizide, Young-soon (Ra Mi-ran), hayatta yaşadığı zorluklara rağmen oğlu Kang-ho (Lee Do-hyun) için güçlü bir şekilde ayakta duran bir anne. Kang-ho ise annesinin sert sevgisiyle büyürken başarılı bir savcı oluyor, ancak trajik bir olay sonrası hafızasını kaybedip tekrar çocuk zihniyetine dönüyor. Bu olay, ikisinin ilişkisini ve hayatını tamamen değiştiriyor.

Ra Mi-ran, benim için yeni bir keşifti ve Young-soon rolünde gerçekten büyüleyiciydi. Karakterin katı dış görünüşünün altında yatan sıcaklığı ve çaresizliği inanılmaz bir şekilde yansıttı. İlk kez izlediğim bu oyuncunun, performansıyla neden bu kadar övgü aldığını anlamak hiç de zor olmadı. Lee Do-hyun ise bir kez daha ne kadar çok yönlü bir oyuncu olduğunu kanıtlıyor. Kang-ho’nun hem sert, soğuk yüzünü hem de içindeki kırılgan çocuğu mükemmel bir şekilde yansıtıyor. Bu rol, oyuncunun kariyerinde farklı bir yere oturacak kadar etkiliydi. Bir an onun zekası ve manipülatif tavırlarıyla ürperirken, diğer bir an onun yaşadığı kaybın derinliğiyle empati kuruyorsunuz. Kang-ho olarak izleyiciyi sürekli bir ikilemde bıraktı: Gerçek duygularını mı gösteriyor, yoksa bir şeyler saklıyor mu?

Çocuk oyunculara da ayrı bir parantez açmak gerek. Özellikle Seo Yi-sook (Genç Mi-joo), masumiyeti ve güçlü kişiliğiyle hikayeye farklı bir dokunuş katıyor. Genç oyuncuların performansı, dizinin duygusal yükünü taşımakta büyük bir rol oynuyor.

Diziyle ilgili en dikkat çekici noktalardan biri, hikayenin tonu. İlk baştaki karanlık atmosfer ve intikam dolu hikaye, zamanla daha yumuşak ve iç ısıtan bir yola evriliyor. Ancak bu dönüşüm, bir miktar tatminsizlik yaratmış olabilir. İster istemez intikam hikayesi bekliyorsunuz ama bu izleyiciye çok hızlı ve belki de biraz yüzeysel verildi. Yine de bu değişim, dizinin kendi özgün tarzını oluşturuyor. Soft bir hikayenin içine işlenmiş karanlık temalar, izleyicinin derinlemesine etkilenmesini sağladı. Özellikle Young-soon’un fedakarlıkları ve Kang-ho’nun yaşadığı dönüşüm, bu kontrastı mükemmel bir şekilde yansıtıyordu.

Karakterler arasındaki kimya ve ilişkiler inanılmaz etkileyici. Mi-joo (Ahn Eun-jin), Kang-ho’nun çocukluk arkadaşı olarak hikayeye enerji katıyor. Ahn Eun-jin’in sıcak, neşeli tavrı, dizinin karanlık tarafını dengelemede harika bir iş ��ıkarıyor. Ayrıca Young-soon’un köydeki komşularıyla olan etkileşimleri de hem eğlenceli hem de duygusal bir derinlik sunuyor. Ra Mi-ran, bir röportajında, Young-soon karakterini canlandırmanın kendi anneliğine de dokunduğunu ve bazı sahnelerde çok duygulandığını paylaşmış. Senaryosunu ilk okuduğunda gözyaşlarını tutamadığını belirtmiş. Çekim ekibi, özellikle köy sahnelerinin otantik olmasına büyük özen göstermiş ve bu, dizinin atmosferini güçlendiren önemli bir detay olmuş.

Sonuç olarak, The Good Bad Mother dark bir başlangıçla izleyiciyi içine çeken, ardından sıcak bir hikayeyle umut dolu bir sonla kalplere dokunan bir yapım. Soft tonlarının içindeki o karanlık hikaye, hem düşündürüyor hem de iz bırakıyor. if I had a nickel for every time I watch a kdrama and become rapidly obsessed with the imaginary relationship of side characters in the drama- who weren't interested canonically, have/had different partners, are not gay(as far as the writers know), have like two scenes together, and ultimately don't care that much about each other/ aren't onscreen much together- I wouldn't have much but it's really really weird that it has happened thrice.

Imagine: K-Drama remake of “The Walking Dead”

1) The show would be 20 episodes long and would cover the first two seasons of the original series.

2) Storyline is mostly the same, with changes being to fit the different setting/culture. Also, the teases to season 3 are removed just in case the drama doesn’t get renewed. So, no Michonne or the shot of the prison in the distance.

3) Lee Jung-Jae (Seong Gi-hun from Squid Game, Sol from The Acolyte) as the equivalent to Rick Grimes. In this version, he is a police officer from Yangpyeong County. I chose that county since if Seoul becomes the equivalent of Atlanta, he has to be from an area not too far from the city.

4) Han Hyun Min (So Not Worth It) as the equivalent to Glenn Rhee. Since you obviously can’t do the scene where Glenn has to correct Daryl Dixon by saying that he’s Korean, Glenn in this version is played by a Korean-Nigerian actor. So Daryl’s ignorance in this version would probably be something along the lines of him saying that Glenn is Ethiopian or a black American.

5) The Rick-Lori-Shane love triangle gets more of a kdrama vibe, so maybe we might actually get to see how Rick fell in love with Lori and how Shane began to lust after her.

6) Ryoo Seung-bum (Frank from Moving) as the equivalent to Daryl Dixon.

7) Ju Ji-hoon (Lee Chang from Kingdom) as the equivalent to Shane Walsh.

8) Song Hye-kyo (Moon Dong-eun from The Glory) as the equivalent to Lori Grimes.

9) Steven Yeun (original Glenn Rhee) makes a cameo appearance as the army zombie inside the tank. The one who Rick gets the grenade from.

10) Park Ji-hu (Nam On-jo from All of Us Are Dead) as the equivalent to Maggie Greene

11) Park Sung-Woong (Kim Myeong-gil from Bloodhounds) as the equivalent to Merle Dixon

12) Song Kang-ho (Kim Ki-taek from Parasite) as the equivalent to Hershel Greene

13) Han Hyo-joo (Lee Mi-hyun from Moving) as the equivalent to Andrea

14) Chun Ho-jin (Seo Tae-su from My Golden Life) as the equivalent to Dale Horvath

15) Kim Joo-ryoung (Han Mi-nyeo from Squid Game) as the equivalent to Carol Peletier

16) As stated above, Atlanta is changed to Seoul
