Flufftober Drabbles, Day 9: Game Day (Sports)
Today it’s Joel/Aleksi again. It’s 583 words. 🏒
“Thanks for coming over,” Joel grinned, as he opened the door to his apartment.
“Thanks for inviting me,” Aleksi grinned back as he walked into the living room. “Sorry I’m late. Traffic was terrible.”
Joel’s TV was already tuned in to the live footage of the hockey game. Today, Oulun Kärpät were facing off against HIFK (the team from Helsinki).
“Who are you rooting for?” Aleksi asked, as Joel handed him a beer.
“Is that even a question?” Joel snorted.
“Well, you’re from Oulu,” Aleksi shrugged, “But, you’ve lived in Helsinki for years now.”
“Of course I’m cheering for Kärpät!” Joel cried. “You’d better be, too.”
“Did you forget I’m from southern Finland?” Aleksi chuckled as he sipped from the bottle.
“So, what - you’re rooting for HIFK?” Joel realized, looking shocked.
“My dad and I have been HIFK fans my whole life,” Aleksi confessed.
“Traitor,” Joel rolled his eyes. “Kärpät will crush them today, for sure.”
“Wanna bet?” Aleksi smirked, his eyes glimmering with mischief.
“Sure, I’ll make a bet with you,” Joel nodded, as he turned the volume up. “How much do you want to bet on your team? Twenty euro?”
“I don’t want money,” Aleksi shook his head. “Let’s bet on something more interesting.”
“What did you have in mind?” Joel asked, raising an eyebrow.
“How about…,” Aleksi grinned wickedly. “If your team loses, you have to do one thing that I command?”
“And if my team wins, you have to take one command from me?” Joel guessed.
“Yeah,” Aleksi nodded. “But, HIFK won’t lose.”
“We’ll see!” Joel laughed. “I’ll take that bet!”
They shook on it, before turning their attention to the television. It was the final third, and score was even so far - both teams had scored five goals each. HIFK were in possession of the puck.
“Go, Jääskä!” Aleksi cheered, recognizing a familiar forward. “Get it into the net!”
“No!” Joel cried, screaming in turn at the Kärpät goalie. “Blomqvist, stop him!”
He glanced anxiously at the clock. There were only seconds left in the game.
Juha Jääskä shot the puck across the ice. It slid past Joel Blomqvist’s skates, into the goalpost.
“GOAAAAL!” the announcer cried enthusiastically. “Time is up - HELSINKI WINS!”
“YEAH!” Aleksi whooped, pumping his fists into the air.
“Nooo,” Joel moaned, burying his head in his hands.
Aleksi couldn’t resist a laugh, as he picked up the remote, and turned the TV off.
“….Alright,” Joel sighed after a moment, picking his head up, “A bet is a bet. I lost. So, what do you want me to do? Wash your car? Buy you lunch?”
“No, nothing like that,” Aleksi shook his head.
“Then, what?” Joel asked.
“What I’d like,” Aleksi smirked, “is for you to kiss me.”
“Huh?” Joel blushed. He hadn’t been expecting this. “….Why?”
“Why?” Aleksi repeated, chuckling. “Because you’re cute, silly.”
“I am?” Joel blinked, looking even more confused.
“Well…,” Aleksi frowned, realizing he might have made a mistake, “if…if you really don’t want to, Joel, of course I’ll pick something else.”
“I want to,” Joel clarified. “To be honest…I’ve wanted to for a while. I just never thought you would want me back.”
He wasted no more time fulfilling Aleksi’s command. He leaned in, and pressed his lips to the DJ’s. Fuck. They were so soft.
Aleksi’s hand came up, and found the back of Joel’s head. He pulled him closer, not wanting the kiss to end.
All thoughts of who had lost or won were immediately forgotten.

KalPa–HIFK 6–3
Kuopio.
Hyvin monivaiheinen ottelu. Saimme kuitenkin 2–0-maalin pikkuisen liian helposti”, Törmänen sanoi.
IFK:n tilanne kääntyi nopeasti epäedulliseksi. Kiuruvedeltä lähtöisin oleva Henri Knuutinenhttp://ift.tt/2jUfnLP punnersi väkevästi maalille ja rusikoi jatkotilanteesta kotijoukkueen kavennuksen ja liigauransa avausmaalin. KalPa iski tasoituksen vielä aivan erän lopussa. Matias Myttynenhttp://ift.tt/2jTEeN5 nosti kiekon lähietäisyydeltä maalin kattoon ohi Kevin Lankisenhttp://ift.tt/2h88FQQ.
KalPa–HIFK 6–3 (0–1, 2–1, 4–1)

Jäähyt: 46.44: Kevin Lankinen, HIFK, 2 min, syy: pelin viivyttäminen - maalin siirtäminen, 53.36: Joonas Rask, HIFK, 2 min, syy: huitominen.
Maalivahtien torjunnat:
Eero Kilpeläinen, KalPa: 8+7+8=23
Kevin Lankinen, HIFK: 5+8+4=17
Yleisöä: 3116.
KalPa-hyökkääjä katkaisi yli 20 ottelun maalittoman putkensa HIFK:n kustannuksella – helsinkiläiset protestoivat maalia rajusti

girl why elmo doing cocaine on ur page..likeeee???
The Hurricanes once had Antti Raanta, Jesse Puljujärvi, Sebastian Aho, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and Teuvo Teräväinen on their team.
We also consider Seth "Severi Jari" Jarvis an honorary Finn.
And last night, Juha Jääskä played his first game in the NHL.
This team is addicted to their Finns.

And happy Debut Day to Juha Jääskä!
After a brat girl offseason and autumn, the Carolina Hurricanes are having a rough patch. Maybe all they need to start 2025 on a better note is a remix album with some call-up features.
