Journal Tree Part 1

Hello! I am real excited to throw these first pages to the wind. In my zero amount of spare time, something possessed me to construct Dipper's very own journal from the cover up.... for some reason??

I decided on this font over the one he used in Journal Three because I really liked the pen feel and texture—it matched my brushes for his doodles very well. I wanted it to feel cohesive.

All inserts, drawings, writings, and some of the future codes are constructed by yours truly.

So, enjoy a little taste with these introductory pages. Next installment coming soon!

new year means new journal :))) i finished my old journal right on 12/31 so i decided to get a new one… except it’s actually an old one !! i am restarting an old moleskine i abandoned in the middle of law school since i didn’t want it to go to waste. although it does skip a chunk of time (the lime green tab marks 2025), i added a very cute bodega cat sticker on it so it feels brand new 😎

overworked: one character has been pushing themselves too hard, barely sleeping or eating, and the other intervenes, gently convincing them to take a break, offering a quiet space to rest

fear of failure: one character is overwhelmed with self-doubt and fear of failure. the other reassures them, reminding them of their strengths, staying close until they feel ready to try again

grief: one character is mourning the loss of someone important to them, and the other provides quiet companionship, listening when they need to talk and simply holding them when words aren’t enough

homesickness: one character feels out of place and misses their home or family. the other surprises them with something that reminds them of home, offering comfort and reminding them they aren’t alone

bad weather: during a terrible storm, one character is frightened, memories of past traumas resurfacing. the other wraps them in a blanket, keeps them close, and distracts them until the storm passes

Dipper has some... useful? tips for surviving AFTER the apocalypse. This section, I really wanted to play with maybe some unhelpful advice he's giving as he works through all this. Mabel usually swoops in with silliness when her brother gets anxious, even on the page. Her fingerprints are ALL over this section.
