Obviously would need to do some further tweaking to the story as an adaptation but-

Come on; two dudes who were besties and one of them becomes a Roman Tribune and Leader while the other stays devout to his Religion and his people despite Roman pressure. He gets falsely accused, imprisoned, but eventually is freed from slavery and comes back to face his Childhood friend on the Roman stage through the power of vengeance and faith.

Literally the first main part of that movie is about Messala coming back to their hometown to help rule over it as "Rightful Roman Territory" and doesn't understand why his own childhood best friend, Ben Hurr, would be so devout to his God and thinks he should tell his people of Judaea to stop rebelling against Rome because Rome rules all now, including them... Conflict and complex relationship dynamic ensues

Edward Sallow was born in 2226. His family originated from near the Boneyard in the New California Republic. After his father was killed by raiders, his mother sought protection from the Followers of the Apocalypse when Sallow was two years old. She worked at the Boneyard Library as a cook and cleaner, where he learned how to read and took free courses. Sallow became an anthropologist and linguist, and was sent east to the Grand Canyon on his first expedition when he was 20 years old. Joined by a physician named Bill Calhoun, he was assigned to learn the dialects of local tribes. They met up with Joshua Graham, a Mormon missionary who already knew several dialects and planned to teach Sallow. [X] Joshua Graham was born in New Canaan, a Mormon community established in what remained of the city of Ogden, Utah. He grew up in peaceful times, learning the trade of a missionary and an interpreter, due to his natural aptitude for languages. In 2246, Graham received the mission call for his sacred service, to spread the good word to the people of the wasteland. By the time he left his home, he was already fluent in several tribal dialects. His knowledge made him a natural choice when the Followers of the Apocalypse asked for assistance in their expedition to the Grand Canyon. Graham departed Canaan, following the Long 15 and 89 south towards Arizona, meeting Calhoun and Sallow on the way, sent by the Followers to provide education to local tribes and study their dialects. Currently reading: Out of boredom and lack of special interest material, I’ve been reading fanfic from fandoms I’ve never been involved with and know nothing about lately. It’s been a very interesting experience so far, but it bugs me slightly that I have no idea what’s OOC or not when I come across wildly different portrayals of the same character!

Currently watching: Nothing, really (I rarely watch series)

Currently consuming: I tried Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal for the first time today, and it’s pretty good. Very similar to Curiously Cinnamon, but with a stronger flavour, and as a little bonus the name doesn’t smell like drying paint to me!

Food I’m craving right now: Oat milk! A friend who’s vegan introduced me to it a few years ago when I mentioned that I love the taste of oats, and I almost use it as a snack in a sense. I often have a carton in my room at uni, but I can never find it anywhere when I’m at home...
