okay im looking for another post on my blog and forgot i posted this. upvote to make me write the fic thats been plagueing my every moment ever since people started doing Somewhere Else au's
any pre-protocol announcement Somewhere Else comfortfic where jmart is just hanging out being sweet while trying to heal from their horrendous trauma is Great. i am not objecting to that. im just saying. what if their horrendous trauma physically followed them to Somewhere Else. in the form of their ugly old boss! and also, the soft comfortfic oneshot turns into a fully fledged narrative that ive structured in two acts. and is at times funny but also horrifying. And im visualizing like a comic, harrowingly (because if i want to draw this itd be like putting my hands in an american garbage disposal sink)
basically my point is i liked jmj before it was cool
the thang is i predicted the .jmj thing sooo hard but never actually wrote the fic. so i got no evidence for that

Free Show
2222 words | Rating E | Full fic on Ao3 Written for the @steddiesmuttyseptember event, Week 2 Prompts: "clothes on" and "back seat" Tags: Dom Steve/Sub Eddie, exhibitionism and semi-public sex, car sex, edging/orgasm control, some very mild CBT, spoilers for Die Hard (1988), pre negotiated scene, they get pretty messy
Tumblr media
The Beemer rolled to a gentle stop. They had made good time, previews were only just starting. Eddie fidgeted excitedly in the passenger seat beside him.
“You know, the premise for this movie kind of reminds me of a puzzle from the first campaign I ran. Had an evil gang kidnap a bunch of nobles during their takeover of a wizard’s tower. Planned to have 10 floors of traps and monsters for the players to fight through before getting to the end, it was going to be brutal. Only problem was, I forgot Jeff had a saddle of flying. So whoosh,” Eddie punctuated his words with a flap of his hands. “All my plans, foiled by a horse with wings. But barring a wild departure from genre standards, I’m going to assume this cop will have to fight the baddies off without any magical items.”
Steve chuckled quietly. Personally he wasn’t really sold on how the guy from that comedy detective show would do in a serious action movie, but he did look forward to watching the explosions. And it didn’t hurt that in the trailer, it looked like Bruce Willis would spend most of the movie with his chest on full display.
Though, if the night went according to schedule, the two of them would have to rewatch Die Hard again at some point.
A few minutes in, the limo driver introduced himself as “Argyle”, and Eddie snorted. “Oh my G-d we’re gonna never hear the end of this from Jon are we.”
“No, I don’t think we are.” Steve laughed. He chose that moment to let his hand wander, resting it casually on Eddie’s crotch. Eddie’s breath hitched as he started to gently squeeze and massage.
“Not that I mind the attention Steve, but if you keep that up, I’m probably going to have a uh
situation,” he whispered, mindful of the open window. Steve leaned in close and pressed his hand in a little harder.
“Nope, you’re just going to have to control yourself. Wouldn't want you to get so messy, not here. There's so many people around."
In reality, there really weren’t. It was a Tuesday night in the middle of nowhere at a barely functioning drive-in theater (Steve was honestly shocked he’d found one playing a major summer blockbuster). Their car was the only one on this side of the lot, and he’d parked right by the tree-line, carefully out of the direct glow of the screen.
But Eddie didn’t notice all that. He didn’t need to. They had worked out all the details for this little game last week, so all he had to do was sit back and let Steve get him more and more worked up.
A small whimper left Eddie’s lips. "I can't help it when you're, oh, being so
mean about it!”
Steve smiled. “I know what you’re thinking, that I’m gonna make you come in your pants a bunch of times while we watch a movie, yeah? Maybe see if we can break your record?” The temptation was there. It would be so easy to just keep teasing until Eddie couldn’t hold back anymore, to take him to that place where he went all boneless and pliant. Tonight though, Steve had other plans.
Eddie nodded frantically, hitching his hips to rut against Steve’s palm harder.
“Yes, yup, please, I don’t think we can beat five but—.” He moved his hand away from Eddie’s crotch, ignoring the small noise of confusion.
“Tonight, I thought maybe we’d try something new. Can you keep your hands up here for me?” Steve gently tugged on Eddie’s wrists, moving them until he was holding onto the headrest. “Not planning on tying you down. But you’re not gonna move from this position unless I tell you to, right?” Eddie nodded, his eyes glazing over. “Good boy, thank you.”
His boyfriend relaxed a little at the praise, but kept shifting restlessly. “Can you touch me again now? Please? If I’m going to get arrested for public indecency I want at least one orgasm out of it.” Steve huffed out a laugh.
“Stay still for me, and maybe I will.”  He slowly undid the zipper on Eddie’s jeans and wiggled down his briefs to leave him bare-assed on the passenger seat. As asked, Eddie obediently kept the squirming to a minimum, even if he gave another whimper at the exposure. His dick on the other hand, gave an interested twitch, already half hard.
Steve held out his hand. “Spit.” Even in the darkness, he could make out how red Eddie’s face was as he did so.
He reached down and gave a few solid pumps while rubbing his thumb over the tip, not letting up until Eddie was fully hard. “Here’s the rules for tonight. I’m gonna keep doing this right up until you’re about to blow it. But you’re not gonna come. Not until the credits roll. When you get close to the edge, I want you to be good and tell me, okay?” It took Eddie a few seconds but he did finally nod. Steve grinned at his wide-eyed stare. This was going to be fun.
Thirty minutes later, the German terrorist leader shot someone. Steve wasn’t entirely sure he was actually a terrorist, but the finer details of the plot were kind of a lost cause at this point. And Eddie definitely wasn’t in a state to concentrate on anything besides what was happening in the car.

Do you think Bran and Jon's relationship will be kind of ruined by the end of asoiaf? I mean, we know Bran will be king in the end, and Jon will probably get exiled like in the show. I think Jon will get tangled in d*enerys mess (KL destruction), and he will be punished for it. I don't know, but the og outline comes to my mind where Jon and Bran were not on best terms.. What do you think?
I don't think so.
For one, a lot of the things you posit as assumptions aren't at all certain:
Bran becoming king in the end is something GRRM has confirmed, and Jon is doubtlessly going to be drawn into the political conflict in the South, being a secret Targaryen. But most of how things went down in the show should be taken with a huge grain of salt, given how many characters and plotpoints they cut and how they had to twist and bend the remaining characters into making up for the lack. (They failed badly.)
At this point, I see no logical reason for Bran and Jon to come into genuine conflict. Much like other parts of the outline, this plot development has been strongly altered. We don't even really know how it was supposed to go down in the outline, and how it was going to end.
My personal guess is that GRRM will keep the reader guessing for a bit about Bran's true intentions and plans, placing his actions into seeming conflict with the struggle of the North against the ice threat (while he is really working on the true solution). Bran has been shown to engage in very dark and selfish acts already, making such a development plausible, if ultimately not real.
This would create a lovely mirror to Dany, who can be mistaken for a hero by the less discerning reader but will fully reveal herself to be a tragic villain. Ultimately, it is these two characters who are the true magical foils of the book series as it exists now.

I like to imagine while kondami are platonically dating, tim is trying his damn hardest to find any kind of excuse to convice damian or kon to reconsider this, like:
Tim: Kon your older than damian. He's SIXTEEN
Kon: Actually, technically i'm younger :D i was aged up by luthor remember?
Tim: ...
Tim: Damian.. think abou-
Damian: I was also aged up when i was in my incubator tube, so i'm not really my age either
Tim: ...
Kon: you were also born from a tube?? -joking- WE'RE BASICALLY THE SAME AGE :D
Dami: ye-
Tim: Kon i will gauge your eyes out.
Jon very far away but hearing every single thing: *silent confuse sobbing*
Just imagine both bernard and jay have to consult their partners but for very different reasons, Tim is seething and is trying to tell bernard that he isn't homophobic –obviously– he just doesn't want damian to be with a super FREAK (listen anger blinds you). While jay is very confuse on why jon is both extremely upset and angry at the same time whenever he sees a picture of his brother with his (platonic) boyfriend
Haha Tim being foiled by the two who absolutely know him best and just going into murder mode 😂 Jon being jealous as HELL but not understanding that at ALL and just being mopey and sad. Superman? More like SuperSAD.
Meanwhile Jay and Bernard absolutely know what platonic dating is and that that’s what Damian and Kon are doing. They also end up telling their respective partners - ‘hey, that other guy is clearly in love with your brother.’
Tim and Jon both end up as the surprised pikachu meme 😂

I thought of you because some of our exchanges about the AA/NN story when I saw this article. Did you watch HOTD? I didn’t, so I have no thoughts on how that works with GoT or potentially supports a J/D version of that story for the books 😬
Hi there! Yes, I did watch HOTD, and the show did add some new information about the prophecy, just as the article you linked to mentions.
The Catspaw dagger, which we see in GOT, reappears in the new series HOTD. If you remember, on GOT, the dagger is used in the assassination attempt on Bran, Catelyn gets it after the assassin is foiled, and then we see Ned Stark with it in King’s Landing. After Ned dies, Littlefinger had the dagger, and he gave it to Bran (in season 6?), who then gives it to Arya, and Arya uses it to kill the Night King.
In the new show, HOTD, this same dagger is actually inscribed with a prophecy that can only be read when it is placed into a flame. Viserys Targaryen shows the Catspaw dagger to his daughter Rhaenyra, who is thus clued into the prophecy.
As we talked about a little in the past, it turns out that this use of the dagger in HOTD is apparently an invention of the show’s writers and not something that will necessarily be in the books, although GRRM perhaps approved of the idea being included in HOTD.  In any case, the Catspaw dagger being used by Arya to kill the NK in Game of Thrones kind of muddies the waters of “the prophecy”, because she isn’t a Targaryen. What HOTD did, as far as the dagger is concerned, may have little to do with what D&D did, except as some “cool” connection they (HOTD writers) are trying to make between the two shows for the sake of more casual viewers?
But I’m getting ahead of myself at any rate, because HOTD contains other references to the Prince who was Promised prophecy that may have come more directly from GRRM, whom I think worked closely with Ryan Condal on the first episode. The new information, in a nutshell, was that Aegon I had a vision/dream that a terrible threat was coming from the far North and that a Targaryen had to be sitting the Iron Throne when it happened:
"Our histories... they tell us that Aegon looked across the Blackwater from Dragonstone, and saw a rich land ripe for the capture. But ambition alone is not what drove him to conquest. It was a dream. And just as Daenys foresaw the end of Valyria, Aegon foresaw the end of the world of men.”
"'Tis to begin with a terrible winter gusting out of the distant north. Aegon saw absolute darkness riding on those winds. And whatever dwells within will destroy the world of the living. When this Great Winter comes, Rhaenyra, all of Westeros must stand against it. And if the world of men is to survive, a Targaryen must be seated on the Iron Throne. A king or queen, strong enough to unite the realm against the cold and the dark. Aegon called his dream 'The Song of Ice and Fire.’”
"This secret... it's been passed from king to heir since Aegon's time. Now you must promise to carry it... and protect it.” (Viserys Targaryen in HOTD)
So the new information, I think, is that we get more about the content of the prophecy and that the prophecy’s original form was Aegon’s dream, called “The Song of Ice and Fire." Other Targaryens down through the generations have had these dreams that might have had aspects of this prophecy in them.
The article you linked states that the new information about the prophecy given in HOTD proves that Benioff and Weiss “got the Azor Ahai Prophecy” right, and that Azor Ahai is Jon Snow.
In the books, the prophecy of the Prince who was Promised, or Azor Ahai, states that “when the red star bleeds and darkness gathers, Azor Ahai shall be born again amidst Salt and Smoke” (paraphrase). Its mentioned by Melisandre, Aemon Targaryen and Marwyn in the texts; and Dany has a vision of Rhaegar talking about the prophecy as it pertains to his children, while she is in the House of the Undying. Another facet of the prophecy we see in the books is about Azor Ahai’s wife, Nissa Nissa whom Azar Ahai sacrifices in order to create Lightbringer.  I think that is mentioned as being in The Jade Compendium, an in-universe book.
An interesting aside to all of this, which is not mentioned in the article, is that in A Feast for Crows, Maester Aemon has Samwell find a book, The Jade Compendium, which is said by Jon Snow “to tell of Azor Ahai, and Lightbringer.” Maester Aemon has Clydas mark a passage for Jon to read, which is apparently one pertaining to Azor Ahai:
“Lord Snow,” Maester Aemon called, “I left a book for you in my chambers. The Jade Compendium. It was written by the Volantene adventurer Colloquo Votar, who traveled to the east and visited all the lands of the Jade Sea. There is a passage you may find of interest. I’ve told Clydas to mark it for you.” “I’ll be sure to read it,” Jon Snow replied. A line of pale snot ran from Maester Aemon’s nose. He wiped it away with the back of his glove. “Knowledge is a weapon, Jon. Arm yourself well before you ride forth to battle.
At any rate, the authors of the article say that the new info revealed in HOTD, proves that Benioff and Weiss got the Azor Ahai prophecy right, and that it must be Jon Snow who is Azor Ahai. Their reasoning isn’t that well developed, but it seems to rest mostly upon the newer revelation in HOTD that a Targaryen should be on the throne when the threat materializes.
But yeah, I do think that Jon was somehow being depicted or presented in GOT as fulfilling the prophecy, but of course not literally.
As usual, the “proof” is more circumstantial in nature than crystal clear to viewers/readers, just the way that Martin likes to write it? Part of the muddying of Jon Snow as Azor Ahai or the Prince here is that his actions are not presented in GOT in a clearly and unequivocally “heroic” context.  Dany is Jon’s Aunt, not his beloved wife, and the events surrounding Jon’s choice to kill Dany are tainted by his identity crisis and his seeming complicity in Dany’s crimes. There is no clear hero in this twisted version of Azor Ahai, and the Targaryen who was foretold to be on the Iron Throne caused the deaths of untold thousands by dragon fire. So that Targaryen, Dany, was herself a terrible threat to Westeros, in addition to the threat which was posed by White Walkers.
So if this is really Martin’s plan for how the prophecy is fulfilled, it seems to be in keeping with things that he has said about the AA/PWWP prophecy in the books or in interviews, where he likens prophecies to “a treacherous woman” (won’t quote the whole thing here because its very graphic), or more recently about the PWWP prophecy in HOTD:
"I don't want to give too much away, because some of this is going to be in the later books."
"There was no sell-by date on that prophecy. That's the issue. The Targaryens that know about it are all thinking, 'Okay, this is going to happen in my lifetime, I have to be prepared!' Or, 'It's going to happen in my son's lifetime.' Nobody said 'it's going to happen 200 years from now.' If the Dance of the Dragons had not happened, what would've happened to the next generation? What would've happened in the generation after that? Yeah, there's a lot to be unwound there.”
So, yes, I do think that what was revealed in HOTD about the prophecy that was being passed down within House Targaryen does point to Jon Snow as being the fulfillment of the prophecy, but in a way that none of the Targaryens that came before could have foreseen or imagined.

What do you think about Jaime's fate? Is he doomed by a narrative? Is he doomed because of the show? Or does he stand a chance?
Personally I'd like to believe that he would live. As far as I can remember (I could totally be wrong though) the most evil thing he does in the series is the Bran thing. And westerosi karma already held him responsible - he loses his ability to do that one thing that he loves the most and becomes disabled just like Bran. He's not the kindest, bravest, most noble etc person in the westeros but he's far from being evil like ramsey or tywin or cersei. Imho he's way better than fan favourite boy tyrion and not so favourite boy stannis - for a bunch of reasons. I just don't want him to die although chances are, well, questionable.
So how do you see his chances to survive?
Hope you're having a nice - or at least decent - day!
It's lovely weather, and I took a long walk first thing which means, it's a great day in my book. Thank you!
I can't remember what specifically convinced me, but somewhere along the line I accepted that Jaime and Cersei would die together, so I believe D&D got that from Martin. I wrote at the time that Jaime is a better man for returning to his sister/lover/mother of his children than leaving her to die alone, so I didn't share the opinion of the rest of the fandom there. It's really easy to project our feelings about a character onto a different character, and I think that happens a lot with those two.
Anyway, since then, @istumpysk has collected all the book foreshadowing for them to die together (here, a long google doc about it, more here), so I give him no chance of survival.
Ramsay is cartoonishly evil, so I don't think he's particularly interesting. Tyrion is Martin's fav and will likely benefit from that, Stannis is doomed, but Jaime really is an interesting character. My controversial take is that I don't think he's more deserving of a happy ending than Cersei who all the fandom recognizes will die. Yes, this a) reads like foreshadowing for King Bran, and b) also reads like karma:
"Does the sight of my stump distress you so?" Jaime asked. "You ought to be pleased. I've lost the hand I killed the king with. The hand that flung the Stark boy from that tower. The hand I'd slide between my sister's thighs to make her wet." He thrust his stump at her face. "No wonder Renly died, with you guarding him." (ASOS, Jaime V)
but I didn't think Jaime fundamentally changed as a person as far as values go? That's a severe punishment for him, I'm not gonna minimize what it means to him, but I did laugh in the show when he's facing Bran and unapologetic because to me, that's Jaime. Martin writes kid killing as a big no-no. Jaime is pretty cavalier about it:
Jaime got to his feet. "Your wife may whelp before that. You'll want your child, I expect. I'll send him to you when he's born. With a trebuchet." (AFFC, Jaime VI) Ask Edmure how chivalrous I am, thought Jaime. Ask him about the trebuchet. Somehow he did not think the maesters were like to confuse him with Prince Aemon the Dragonknight when they wrote their histories. Still, he felt curiously content. (AFFC, Jaime VII)
Now, I don't think dying with Cersei is necessarily meant to be read as karma for Bran, but I included the above for two reasons.
1.Jaime is a foil to Jon, I believe we're meant to contrast Jon's, morally grey perhaps, attempt to save a child with Jaime's disregard for one, and overall compare what their upbringing, the morals or lack thereof instilled, have formed of these two who had similar dreams, experienced disillusionment, shared the same hero:
They were not little boys when they fought, but knights and mighty heroes. "I'm Prince Aemon the Dragonknight," Jon would call out... (ASOS, Jon XII)
2. Jaime and Cersei are a variation on the Aemon and Naerys idea, and the parallels between Jaime and Jon, Sansa and Cersei, point to Jonsa being the positive variation of the old tale. So that expectation, in which Jon will successfully save Sansa from a marriage she doesn't want (hello girl in grey prophecy) and they'll fulfill the maiden/warrior vision that Jaime once had of himself and Cersei, the underlying, uh, preoccupation with and loyalty to their sisters (that Jaime has and Jon will have post reunion) means I'm ok with Jaime deciding his fate is to be with Cersei, in birth, in life, even in death. As I thought it worked in the show, returning to Cersei in the books will likewise mean he is able to have some self-respect. I don't think you can read his, I mean, I would say Cersei obsession and believe he'd ever have any peace of mind if she died alone while he had to go on living. We will get a healthier, happier version of the “brother/sister” (in the Targaryen sense) relationship with Jon/Sansa to complete the convo which is important to keep in mind when bemoaning the fate of certain characters--their endgames are part of a much bigger picture.
I thought this was a great write-up of his character which you might enjoy reading:
But what’s so vital about Jaime is that this is who he is - a bad person, a person willing to kill children to achieve his aims - but it isn’t all he is. And the point of introducing him as a POV is to force us to confront this fact, the fact that this would-be childkiller is also a three-dimensional, even sympathetic man with his own heartaches and struggles, with a sense of humor and a sense of honor and the saved lives of half a million people to his name. The good deeds don’t cancel out the bad, but neither do the bad cancel out the good. And instead of allowing us to take the easy path and categorizing him as either ‘purely evil’ or ‘wholly redeemed,’ the story simply pushes us to dwell within the psyche of this complex, broken man who is neither fully one nor the other. Do you think Jon and Aemond have parallels and parallels purposely placed in there by GRRM?
Well, GRRM likes to recycle characters, he's always repeating patterns.
As I said before, since Aemond is often portrayed as a big evil baddie, I don't like to compare him with Jon, the same happens with Brynden Rivers, another Targaryen with one eye.
But it's true that both Aemond and Brynden are targs that lost an eye. It is theorized that Jon will lose an eye.
And it seems that the love interest of every one eyed targ have similarities with Sansa.
Brynden is also a bastard and has the same coloring as Ghost, a raven shaped birthmark, he was a crow and fell in love with his half sister Shiera, an avid reader and a rumored witch of a renown beauty.
Aemond without the letter d is Aemon, the theorized Jon's Targaryen name.
Alys and Aemond are a darker foil-ish version of Sansa/Alayne and Jon.
Aemond hated his 3 Strong bastard nephews, just to fall in love with a Strong bastard, Alys Rivers.
Sansa was betrothed with Joffrey, a bastard disguised as prince, while Jon is a "prince" disguised as bastard, half brother of Sansa.
Alys could be a short for Alysanne, that sounds like Alayne, Sansa's bastard name. Alys was a bastard of House Strong. Stark is "strong" in German.
Alys ruled Harrenhal as a "witch queen." Alayne is the heir of Harrenhal, since Petyr Baelish is Lord of Harrenhal. There are rumors that Sansa killed the king with a spell and then shapeshifted into a wolf with bit leather wings like a bat or dragon. Sansa maternal ancestors, House Whent, also ruled Harrenhal and their sigil was 9 black bats on a yellow field. Lord Walter Whent held the great tourney at Harrenhal, where Lyanna Stark met Rhaegar Targaryen.
Aemond pushed a 3 years old Joffrey Velaryon, his bastard nephew, to a pile of dragon droppings, and Jon called Joffrey Baratheon, the bastard disguised as a prince, little shit. This detail Joffrey/little shit is a classic GRRM wordplay.
Aemond left Alys pregnant with a bastard that Alys claimed was the rightful king.
Yes there's a lot of similarities and paralells and I'm sure I'm missing a lot here.
Thanks for your message :)

Its time we start propagating that third tier side characters like Ygritte and Val, and history figures like Lyanna, Alysanne, Rhaenys and Naerys are the ones being given relevance when we draw parallels between them and a POV main character, also called a central part of the books by the author himself, Sansa Stark. She was created first and is the princess archetype of the story so all the apparent things Sansa stans 'steal' from these characters 💀💀 belong to her first and foremost.
Technically Lyanna shouldn’t be included in there because she isn’t a history figure, but the rest I absolutely agree with you, especially on Naerys. Like Sansa is the only person who even mentions her for the first few books. And Sansa is the one who draws parallel with herself to Naerys and wants her husband to be like Aemon the dragon knight. Like George RR Martin is hammering down that Sansa is the character who has any form of narrative connection to Queen Naerys and the romantic pair Aemon/Naerys is (almost) exclusively tied to Sansa’s romantic storyline. Sansa also deals with an Aegon the unworthy in Joffrey. He even flat out says he wants to be like him and have multiple women:
("A king can have other women. Whores. My father did. One of the Aegons did too. The third one, or the fourth. He had lots of whores and lots of bastards." - Sansa III, A Storm of Swords.
Sansa says she’s Queen Naerys and Joffrey says he wants to be Aegon the unworthy. The only one missing in this equation is an Aemon the dragon knight figure. Now who could this person be? Well I can think of someone. A young man who frequently screamed he was Aemon the dragon knight in his childhood in Winterfell. We got three people saying they are a historical figure that conveniently are stuck in a love triangle. The fandom can deny this till their faces turn blue, but clearly Sansa/Jon are a Aemon/Naerys pair.
And even though George RR Martin is extremely obvious in his parallel still certain people try to take this and make it all about their favorite character and favorite ship. If there ever was case of ‘stealing’ a parallel and storyline then this falls squarely in that category, but antis will never admit to this, because if they did they would be admitting that Sansa has something desirable in their eyes that they want to give to their faves.
Naerys will never be remotely similar to either @rya or D@ny. At most D@ny looks like Naerys in terms in looks, GRRM flat out said that, but he also said that’s where the similarities stop. She may look like Naerys in appearance, but personality wise Naerys is described to be timid and Dany is fiercer. And @rya has zero association with Naerys.
The character who shares the most similarities with Naerys will always be Sansa. Another character who is like Naerys is Cersei, but in her case it’s foil. Cersei is her darker counterpart. She does the very thing Aegon accuses Naerys of (cheating and passing her child as his). Elia Martell is also very similar to Naerys (fragile health, reproductively abused, and humiliated by husband. Rhaegar literally does what Aegon IV wanted to do). Perhaps one could argue that Margaery has a small similarity to her too, since she compares herself to Naerys and Loras to Aemon, but that’s it. There are no other characters like Naerys. Especially not the characters whose fans desperately try to steal this parallel and storyline.

Note
The first time I read asoiaf -I'll be honest- I felt weird. Then I read your metas and realized why I felt this way, it was my love-horror sense tingling 😭
reading D@ny chapters in agot -or any of Bran- gives this feeling of watching Ari Aster movies or The Witch, like they are making deals with devil 😭😂
Ciao nonny,
Asoiaf is very complex, and some of the horrors of it are not so clear to a first reader; there are multiple layers to it. Most of my metas have been caused by people sending an ask and causing a light bulb to light in my mind (see the dark!Dany and blood sacrificing Dany metas)
Or simply I made the connection out of the blue (like my Lucifer means Lightbringer metas).
And to be quite honest with you, even those could not have seen the light of the day without my amazing mutuals to whom I have privately whined and run a first rough draft through.
I mean, @sansaissteel has been of tremendous help especially with the realization that, all in all, Rhaego is what the valyrian would've called a chimera and that it happened after a blood sacrifice, like it happened in old Valyria.
In the same way @fromtheboundlesssea has been instrumental for the new (still yet to come, I've just started to scratch at its surface) biblical meta.
And more often than not the whole thing is spurned by some convo (like the latest biblical/secular meta about the figure of the Virgin Mary, the Mother and the mothers of asoiaf) for which we can thank @esther-dot and @minitafan.
And most of my metas have been born that way. From some comment someone made, or the light bulb going off in my mind out of the blue, and from the amazing conversations we can engage in, in this corner of the fandom.
And I couldn't agree more, the AGOT chapters of both Dany and Bran are like already foreshadowing the line they are walking on, and that they either will cross or remain on the right side of. We always comment on how Dany and Jon are foils, and Dany and Sansa are written to become moral rivals, and Arya is supposed to outgrow her childish awe at the dragons to see the horror they actually bring in the world (after the whole point of her growing fiercely more hating of how fire is used during warcraft); but the real antitheses and foils are actually Dany an Bran.
Horror follows them almost more closely than others, and certainly more closely than others they toy with it. Imo Bran is foreshadowed to sacrifice his abilities (and thus his possibilities to not feel like a cripple) for the good of everyone, which is the choice I think Dany will fail to make in the end; as we see Bran growing ever so restless but realizing that something is afoot and having the advantage of having been raised by Ned Stark; Dany is just a slow descent.
Horror is a great part of asoiaf and so layered I think not even Martin has done everything on purpose; some of it might have happened by chance and actually fit the plot. As I myself write stories and fan fictions I have noticed my brain at times plants the seeds of plot-twists I haven't even started to plan, before I realize I want to write them and then suddenly start to fit as if I had planned it beforehand.
Both Dany and Bran are actually engaging with “devils”.
The dragon for Dany and the three eyed raven for Bran... and come to think of it:
both creatures are symbolically connected between them and to the number three (three dragons, the dragon must have three heads; and the three eyes of the raven in Bran' dream and the three eyed raven); both connected to the color black (which would beg on a meta in itself) and red (might actually had another layer to the red decoded series of meta).
And.....I am stopping there before this gets out of hand, but trust me on this nonny, I will return to this matter, because you just opened the lid of a Pandora box and my hands are already itching to write it, but it needs research and a more throughout writing method. But I will address this matter because damn what you haven't just exposed in my mind.
Thank you, as always for dropping by. Sending all my love; I hope you have a wonderful day/afternoon/night, whatever depending on where you live!
Do drop by again, I'm always happy to hear from you all and you all are extremely instrumental in the insanity that is my writing-metas-method!, I'm always ready to be unleashed on the fandom with brand new ideas and metas sparked by all of your genial comments and asks!
*demonic mumbling*
Forever itching to write new metas,
~G.

Note
what are your thoughts on jon arbuckle?
underappreciated as the comedic foil to garfield tbh. never understood why jon gets meme-d quite so much, i think he's a perfectly good comedic agent

Sorry I'm a kind of new but I've been seeing these theories of the Starks tag teaming Sansa for Dany. Is there any basis on Jon supposedly killing her? What are the chances of Jonsa ending together? Thank you.
Dear nonny,
I’m not sure what you mean, because I’m not sure what “tag teaming” is supposed to mean? If I understand you correctly you want to know if the Starks will team for Sansa instead of Dany, and if Jon will kill Da€nerys and the possibility of a Jonsa ending?
So, I’ll try to answer this, in the hope that this is what you meant.
I’m not sure if it will be Sansa vs. Da€nerys. Sansa is probably the Younger More Beautiful Queen that will bring Cersei down, and I think the chances for a Targbowl i.e. Jon vs. Da€nerys are much bigger. And if/when it comes to that, it should be clear that the Jon’s Stark cousins will team up with him. In addition I would argue that it is more that there is a team Stark, that will stick together. We didn’t got through the whole catfight at Winterhell last season that ended with Sansa and Arya being a team only for that team to split up again.
You know the thing about the Stark is, that they stick together. The Lannisters fight about who will get Casterly Rock, the Martells are unsure about whom Doran wants as heir, we see infighting with the Greyjoys, downright murder with the Boltons.... and the Starks? The Starks constantly remind each other, that Winterfell belongs not to one but to all of them. Remember Sansa: “Winterfell belongs to us, it belongs to Arya, Bran and Rickon wherever they are.” - So, the big difference between House Stark and the other Houses is that they do respect each other. And I think we’ve seen all the infighting there was to see last season. From this basis, it is safe to assume that all the Starks will support Lyanna’s son. It will be Team Stark with Jon.
As for Jon killing D? While I do think that D will die in season 8, I doubt it will be Jon tbh. My money is on Arya, whose arc of protection would come to a nice end with that. If Jon would kill D, he would be a kinslayer, and these are punished severely. I think it is equally possible that D has a literal fall like Icarus or a death that accidentally helps the cause against the WW - a Gollum death. I’m all for Jon and Da€nerys as antagonists. They are set up as foils, it is only logical that they end up fighting each other, but I prefer about any other solution to Jon killing her.
As for Jonsa happening? I think it is very likely, and I think that - despite of what the Antis say - the general audience could be quickly on board of this ship. The groundwork was laid in season 6 and even in season 7, and it makes for a neat political solution, a beautiful romantic solution by fulfilling the trope of the “girl next door was the right one all along” and a fairy tale ending by fulfilling the demands of several fairy tales, like the Beauty and the Beast, the Pig Boy and in-world legends like Florian and Jonquil as well.
Thanks for the ask! I hope that was your question!

In show there were many scenes between Dany and Starks to show that they were foils.
When Sansa was born bells were rang throughout WF while Dany was born dogs were howling.
Starks reclaiming their home WF and work towards protecting it. Dany arriving dragonstone and feeling like no home.
Starks reunion, making their differences clear and fight against common enemies. Dany and Jon as last Targs were clear foils to Starks. Especially Jon killing Dany to save Starks.
It seems like D&D were giving narrative parallels many times but they somehow missed the mark.
Absolutely, anon!
Dany tried to prevent Jon from being known as a trueborn, tried to divide him from his family, and of course, was a threat to him which is such a contrast to Sansa who dressed Jon as a Stark, offered him the lord's chambers, essentially acted like he was trueborn/head of the house. And then of course, her happiness at him being named KitN and desire to protect him at all costs and restore him to that role. Oh, she had also offered the lord's role to Bran who refused. None of them were power hungry at all.
Jon had to persuade Dany not to attack KL with dragons in s7, Dany burned food in s7 while Sansa was working to collect it to feed her people. Jon and Sansa had trust issues and disagreements in their relationship, but they still affirmed each other and worked to protect each other. Even after Jon bent the knee and he and Dany were together, she kept intimidating and making threats. Compare how happy Sansa was to see Jon happy in 8x04, how jealous Dany was that he was loved/celebrated. It's endless!
Making a point without actually having a character articulate it is considered good writing, so all of the work they put into the parallels and foils, I believe most of that was intentional. But curiously, at the same time that we were seeing that commentary on good/bad priorities, good/bad leadership, they wanted the J/D romance, so suddenly, Jon who is meant to be a foil to Dany is endorsing behavior that should have been abhorrent to him, doing things that contradict who we know he is. I once said it was like simultaneously watching history and revisionist history. IMO, that's why it missed the mark, they wanted us to know certain things to be true, but also wanted to write certain developments that contradicted their own narrative. I think that's why in the end, Tyrion had to sit down and explain that burning people alive is bad. Because that was the narrative, but they'd been writing against it for a bit so they figured the audience needed the clarification. 😐

That's why I'm a "falling rocks" truther. I wholly believe it's possible that it was one of the few points from GRRM's outline that they decided to keep.
Why?
Jaehaera.
Even in the main series, Otto exists as a warning to ambitious Hands overconfident in their abilities. And it's definitely a statement that his line comes to an end by the hand of a man who echoes Otto: a Hand who wants to replace the queen with his own daughter, in order to better control a vulnerable king and put his own blood on the throne to prevent a girl and her bastard husband from possibly succeeding Aegon III.
Tywin and Ned are so interesting because they act as foils to each other after they're both dead. Foils for a shared theme: You reap what you sow, on an intergenerational level. Much in the way Ned's children reap the benefits of his honorable reputation, Tywin's children reap the consequences for his crimes.
With all that established, acknowledging that Cersei and Jaime have always been somewhat trapped in Tywin's shadow, I totally think it's possible that their stories, much like their lives, will end in that shadow.
And what better way to end Tywin's story with a "you reap what you sow," message than by having the death of his golden twins echo his most infamous atrocity: Castamere.
What really gets me is that even if this isn't the plan for the book, D&D still could have done the same to make the falling rocks scene not stupid. Not senseless (in a narrative sense that is). Except they couldn't, because they had already fumbled Castamere. And honestly, the fact that the scene seems so stupid, when it could have made so much sense if they hadn't made needless changes from the book, makes me wonder if it was one of those leftovers from the outline that made no sense without book context.
You know, like Dany, Jon Connington, and the fucking bells.
I get that you guys hate Daenerys. I don't understand it but I get it. What I don't get is why so many of you have these misogynistic fantasies about her death.
"She's villain-coded."
That's all well and good but there are tens of men in the books who have done worse and continue to do worse in pursuit of far less noble causes. I don't see people posting rape fantasies about them. I have never seen a single post where Gregor Clegane, Jamie Lannister, Petyr Baelish, Tywin Lannister or his odious brother Kevan are subjected to sexual violence before being murdered ignobly.
If anything people often blorbo-fy them. Jamie Lannister is apparently on a redemption arc even though there is little evidence of this in the books. Gregor Clegane has blinding headaches so we can't really judge him for how he chooses to destress. Tywin might be a monstrous person in canon but at least he loved his wife and that apparently forgives a multitude of sins. As for Petyr and Kevan, little is said of them but that's the point isn't it.
Aegon II the rapist without a single redeeming quality has fans who arduously defend him. "He's only a rapist because mummy and daddy didn't love him." "He's only a rapist because he doesn't know what rape is." It's fascinating stuff because many of those fans who arduously defend him are staunch Daenerys haters.
Funny how that works.
