"The Hellenistic influence on John" this and "the Hellenistic influence on John" that. What about the Jewish influence on the Gospel of John??? What about the fact that John 1 describes Jesus with references to Lady Wisdom? What about the same chapter describing Jesus as both the Tabernacle and the Light that fills it? What about Jesus as a "Greater than Moses" who turns water into wine instead of blood? What about Jesus entering into the temple on Hanukkah and declaring himself to be the light of the world, as well as claiming to be God made maniphest? What about the constant harkening back to Jesus being Yahweh, the God of the Jews?
We cannot erase/be ignorant of the Jewish influence of the Scriptures and then be shocked when people complain of antisemitism

georgehxanthis: What a joy Season 5 has been. Probably the most challenging for me to work on so far as an actor, but definitely the most rewarding. John's journey from Thunder ⚡️ to Beloved ♥️ is a complex and fascinating one. John is often symbolised as an Eagle, for his clairvoyance and observation. Whereas previously John journals what he sees, this season he will start to "pay attention" to what he sees 🦅

Christ Carried to the Tomb
Artist: Sisto Badalocchio (Italian, 1585 – c. 1619-1647)
Style: Baroque
Date: c. 1607
Medium: Oil on canvas
Collection: Dulwich Picture Gallery, London, England
Christ Carried to the Tomb
This dramatically lit painting shows the burial of Christ following his crucifixion, a story described in the New Testament of the Bible, according to the Christian tradition. In a dramatic, diagonal movement which sweeps down through the painting, Christ’s body is carried into the enveloping darkness of the tomb by Nicodemus, Joseph of Arimathea, a torch bearer and John the Evangelist (right to left). The weeping holy women, glimpsed outside beyond the mouth of the tomb, occupy a space deep within the painting. By contrast, John the Evangelist seems to step right out of the painting into the viewer’s space. The eye is drawn to Christ’s limp hand in the centre of the painting, still bearing the wound made by the nail which fixed him to the cross. The mourning woman in the foreground, likely Mary Magdalene, meditates upon this hand, inviting the viewer to do the same in the empty space that has been left for them.

THE DESCRIPTION OF SAINT JOHN The Evangelist and Apostle Whom Jesus Loved Feast Day: December 27
St. John, the beloved apostle of Jesus, was the son of Zebedee and the brother of James the Greater. As they were mending their nets on the sea of Galilee, Jesus passed by and called them. Immediately, they left their boat and their father Zebedee and follow Jesus. According to the Gospel of Mark, Jesus nicknamed them Boanerges, meaning 'sons of thunder', on account of their strong temperament.
John was the youngest of the apostles, and he defined himself as the apostle whom Jesus loved. He was present at the Transfiguration, and during the Last Supper, he leaned on Jesus' breast to ask for the name of the betrayer. During the crucifixion, John is the only apostle who stood at the foot of the cross, receiving the sublime mission to care for the Blessed Virgin Mary, the mother of the Lord.
According to tradition in 49 AD, John settled at Ephesus, where he witnessed Mary's assumption. From there, he was exiled to the island of Patmos, where he wrote the Book of Revelation (Apocalypse). He returned to Ephesus a few years later, where he wrote three letters, which contain the sublime definition of the divinity: 'God is love.' There, he also wrote the fourth Gospel, whose sublime theology was represented in art as an eagle.
When John was already old, he used to speak to his flock only these words: 'My little children, love one another.'
When they asked him why he kept repeating the same sentence, he replied: 'Because it is word of the Lord, and if you keep it you do enough.'
John died in peace at Ephesus in 101 AD.

Understanding the Revelation is understanding that Christians ruling the world is not electing your preferred person to office but it is the 21 Christian’s in Egypt who got their heads cut off. They are the ones actually ruling. The enthronement of the Christ was his enthronement onto the cross. A torture device. When one dies the death of a slave. It is the martyrs who choose nonviolence and death over violence and tyranny who are exalted

So in the tradition of the Church St. John the Evangelist is considered to be the youngest apostle og Jesus and I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!! Why you may ask? It's this verse right here.
John 20:4 "Both of them were running together, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first."
Tell me that this is not youngest sibling behavior! Look me in the eye and tell me that telling everyone that you hve outdone your older sibling in something is not youngest sibling behavior!
