Why do so many people act as if jock Will is just

me thinking he likes sports = me thinking he’s stupid

Yes he likes sports and is great at them. Yes he uses sports as a way to steam of pressure cause he’s constantly is a stressful position. Yes he’s ALSO a genius who is going to graduate top of his class and get a full ride scholarship to some expensive college. Yes he’s ALSO a Star Wars obsessed freak. These things CAN COEXIST!!!! need to talk about tennis player annabeth

the game is all about strategy. know your opponent and figure out how to beat them. annabeth does that on the daily already, either in battle or sparring for practice. she's extremely perceptive and would immediately clock her opponent's quirks, maybe how their backhand is weak. and while she would still do good in doubles, I think she would really thrive in singles.

she would not play a team sport like basketball or soccer. not that she's not a team player, but she prefers only having to rely on herself and maybe one other.

she's already skilled with her hands from wielding a knife and various weapons since she was practically a baby. she'd love tricking her opponent with slices or underspin.

her reflexes are naturally quick for a demigod and she's definitely a fast runner, which would be really useful for singles where she might have to run all the way across the court.

I also think percy's brain would short circuit when he sees her in a tennis skirt

anyway I just think if annabeth ever played a sport in high school it would 100% be tennis.

I get called weird for simping for Percy, who’s canonically the kind of person who calls you “dear” and “darling,” regularly writes you detailed love letters, keeps a picture of you in his pocket, and is super protective over the people he loves by people who simp for irrelevant background characters without first names.

I periodically remember and become enraged that Rick potentially implied that Percy was confused that Nico was gay and didn’t understand it when Percy fully grew up in NYC where pride is massive and people are super open abt their sexuality (even in the early 2000s).

But then I self soothe by telling myself he was confused by someone who he thought hated him, who he believed to have ample reason to feel that way, professing their crush towards him. Especially when he has been bullied for his looks, among other things, most of his life and cannot understand it when people find him attractive.
