The Peter Lorre tarot: featuring Johnny West and Icey Crane as the Lovers. I had a lot of options for this card, but I eventually settled for @peterlorrefanpage ‘s suggestion to use Johnny West from The Three Strangers for this one. And it’s appropriate, because this card is all about important choices, and the film is all about bad choices (and bad luck)… plus, I could use the statuette of Kwan Yin to replace the angel on the Rider-Waite deck

In 1913, the time traveling alien known as the Doctor (Doctor 10) and his companion Martha were chased back through time to Earth 1913 by an alien family. Since the family could detect a Time Lord, the Doctor’s race, the Doctor used a special device to alter his DNA to make him human and forget his true identity. He became a teacher at a school for boys and Martha a servant. The family took over human bodies and continued to search for the Doctor and also managed to create an army of animated scarecrows. And he. Loves. Catnip.

Vicky isn't much of a hunter, but he relishes the sweet scent of death. He seems fascinated by dead animals, and loves to roam the cemetery that's adjacent to our back yard. He gets out every night, but always wanders back shortly before sunrise (and feeding time).

He's also fond of Lottie, the unfixed outdoor tortoiseshell cat who lives at the music studio across the street. We're expecting a paternity suit any day.

Joan Lorring said she developed quite a crush on Peter during the filming, wore shorter dresses around him, etc., but it doesn't sound like anything actually happened. RIP and all that, but damn. Had I had that chance--!
