#Three Strangers

Hah, I'm done watching Arsenic and Old Lace. So I drew these.I like this movie very much. It's a great nonsense comedy. I really laughed many times.

P1：Jonathan and Dr. Einstein painted very interesting. I must say they are moldy baguettes and gin barrels ...

They gave me a special feeling, so I decorated them with some fluorescent colors.And while painting Jonathan, I was thinking that I should go and see the movie Frankenstein.（Jonathan is really like Boris Karloff.I tried to distinguish them when I painted them.）

I have searched many places and still don't know the full name of Einstein, but since everyone calls him Herman Einstein, that's it.

P2：I put Karl and Einstein together when I was practicing realistic painting style, so let them talk, although I feel that they will dislike each other.

P3、P4、P5：Einstein really reminds me of Johnny West（Three Strangers）. They are all reckless drunkards but totally different ... So let's work together!Or, swap settings in each other's movies.

The span of these two films may be a little big, but I really think Johnny and Einstein may be able to exchange their jobs ...Why not? Anyway, they all seem to have studied and love to drink.

I want to draw more fanart about this movie.I think Peter Lorre in this movie is the first poor little meow meow have ever come into contact with.Well, I finally understand where some strange impressions of him mainly come from.

Peter Lorre's voice in this movie is also very different. It sounds more morbid and delicate, and his breathing is heavier.

I think Peter Lorre is very talented in dubbing. He will adjust his way of speaking and voice according to different roles.

Just a snapshot of Peter Lorre's ethereal, beautiful face in the noir crime drama "Three Strangers" (1946), where he played the romantic lead - as he should!

We see Peter Lorre suffer onscreen so often, and he rarely gets any sympathy from anyone besides the audience. So I really treasure this cute moment from "Passage to Marseilles." Not the least because out of context, you can imagine this as any number of other PL characters who could use a blanket and some cocoa.

A few ideas off the top of my head:

When Cairo met Wilmer: During some misguided treasure hunt in the tropics, Joel Cairo almost dies, and is rescued by a young man named Wilmer Cook. The rest is history.

The Baron is retrieved from the Wild Goose: ...and already talking about getting back on track with plans before they even get him onto a stretcher.

Ugarte was only mostly dead! "Ugarte is dead" my ass. If Strasser executed Ugarte before extracting the location of the visas from him then he's an idiot, and if he tortured him to death in one night then he's incompetent. So after Rick and Louie declare their beautiful friendship, they make a stop at the jail to free the tight-lipped prisoner, and bring him to Ferrari's to recuperate in hiding. Now that he's at his lowest and literally stripped of everything he had, Ugarte actually has impressed everyone.

Johnny West is just hung over: Icey is trying to sober up her boyfriend yet again. Johnny eagerly drinks the offering, only to realize that it's coffee and not booze.

Leyden needs coffee: ... or it's Corny Leyden, after attempting to pull an all-nighter working on his new book about Dimitrios. A member of his house staff gives the unkept artist some much needed caffeine and informs him that he's got a press conference in twenty minutes.

Dr. Herman Einstein: ...is sleeping in the Brewsters' basement, either during or after the events of the film. The aunts announce that coffee is ready, and Elanie brings the hung-over doctor a cup.

Vicky Emmric: ...has talked Lottie into camping out at the cemetery overnight with hot cocoa. This is his way of coping with his friend's confession to murder and going to the gallows.

The Philosophical Drunk

I love this type of character. That one guy in some unnoticed corner of the bar, just waiting for a kindred spirit (or else some poor schmo desperate to get away) with whom he may share important plot-relevant information, hidden between his deepest secrets and his best philosophical insights drawn straight from the bottom of a bottle.

Oh no, now I'm doing it, too.

Peter played this sort of person especially well, and I think the greatest examples are Johnny West of Three Strangers fame, and the sadly underappreciated Toady from Rope of Sand. Now, everybody loves Johnny, I mean how can you not...

...but I'm actually even more intrigued by the presence of some guy named "Toady" in that remote bar in Diamantstad. He can't be just an informant, or a plot device, because his information isn't all that relevant to the plot, at least what we saw of it (I have a funny feeling that a lot of things relating to Toady and an actual diamond heist were cut). So where is he from? Why does he stay there why do any of us stay in Diamantstad? Does he have a lover or several, or is he excited only by the glittering promise of precious stones? Is he called Toady because of his personality, or looks, or is his real name something silly like "Theodorus" and everyone decided that was too hard to pronounce?

One day I will find the answers, even if I have to make them up.

I would GENTLY SUGGEST that people watch Peter Lorre in "Three Strangers."

Why: This 1946 film noir is a sophisticated noir crime drama with Peter in the lead role - which is also one of romance! If you are used to typing Peter Lorre as "horror," this movie will unlock a whole world of his genius. It's like a gateway drug to his other works.

With Sydney Greenstreet, Geraldine Fitzgerald, and Joan Lorring.

I'm really obsessed with Three Strangers recently. This movie may not be famous, but I really think about it all the time. I definitely want to draw something for it in the future.

And I'm considering whether to watch Moto movies. Honestly, I don't like Moto now, but Peter Lorre is really cute.So think again.

And trying to draw the old Peter Lorre (I still have to take time to accept it).

And some vampires Lorre and bela lugosi.I drew it when my eyes were inflamed.

The person who knows Steve the most is Tommy. The party is annoyed every time they are confronted with this fact, because sure. They know Steve’s favorite songs and his hair care routine, but Tommy knows that too. He also knows that Steve is allergic to aspirin.

Nancy and Jonathan are standing in the middle of Melvin’s arguing about painkillers because neither can remember what Steve asked for, and decide to just grab one. They all do the same thing anyways, right? Wrong.

Nancy barely has the bottle off the shelf when it’s grabbed out of her hand, “Wow, Wheeler. Breaking his heart isn’t good enough? You wanna kill him now too? Get Tylenol.”

Steve calls Dustin up and is kinda whiny until he agrees to go to his house and watch movies. He doesn’t want to do this. He makes it clear that he doesn’t. Like, an hour and a half in, there’s a knock at the door.

It’s Tommy with a birthday cake that his mom made and insisted he drop off. Dustin didn’t even know it was Steve’s birthday. They’ve known each other for two years.

Tommy is roaming the shelves as Family Video, rolling his eyes about Steve befriending Eddie ‘The Freak’ Munson and a band geek and how loudly they are just dicking off at the counter. Theyre snacking on brownies Robin brought in, and then he hears a wheeze.

Then panic. Then the thump of a body on the floor. Then without even thinking, he’s pulling an epi-pen out of his pocket and jabbing it into Steve’s thigh. Of course his ‘friends’ have no idea about his peanut allergy. Of course.

Steve has the presence of mind to blurt out, “Is that expired?”

“I don’t freaking know!” Tommy snaps, and then snaps his fingers in front of Steve’s face when his eyes start to droop. “Hey, stay awake until the ambulance gets here.”

“Am’lance?”

“Yeah, the ambulance,” He says, turning to Steve’s friends. “You did call an ambulance.”

And Eddie and Robin are like, “Yes” as they slowly back up to go do that.

Eddie, who becomes so in tune with Steve it’s actually crazy. Steve lovingly dubbed it as his “Stevie-Senses,” which Eddie loves and robin hates. Robin calls him a glorified service dog.

Steve’s blood sugar is low? Eddie brings over a juice box or a blue airhead.

Steve’s blood sugar is skyrocketing? Eddie nudges him and asks is he needs a correction.

Eddie even has the app on his phone that is connected to Steve’s pod so he can see where Steve’s levels are at even when they’re apart.

Eddie keeps the packet that Steve made for him on his person at all times, even though he doesn’t need it anymore. He keeps the needles, strips, alcohol wipes, and the monitor in a little pouch.

When Eddie is performing, he makes sure that there are a shit ton of snacks for him, as well as water and a place for him to relax if he needs to.

Steve has never felt so loved and so seen before, which helps solidify Robin’s endearment and approval for the couple.
