Lilith
This is the beginning of the side/supporting character list, and descriptions. Mind that I’ve added some characters since first creating the list a bit back. Anyway here’s Lilith.
Lilith is the mother of all demons. She is mother to the 4 young princes (Mammon, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, and Belphegor). Before that she was the first woman to be created.
Lucifer watched from the walls around Eden and admired her. He’d sneak in to speak with her. He fell in love with her. Adam didn’t seem to even care about her and blatantly disrespected her existence. So, Lucifer tried to take Lilith from Eden.
God didn’t like this. So he cast away Lucifer and Lilith. They made a home for themselves in hell where they laid.
Lilith learned soon that she had importance to the world though. Her existence in this world was to give life. This isn’t about “being a mother” no. She stepped into hell and grass began to grow. And for the world above to do the same she’d need to be there. So, she made a deal with God and her new husband. She would travel and bring life, then come home to hell.
This version of her is heavily inspired by persephone. She’s one of my favorite gods.

Broke: danny runs away from bruce wayne because he reminds him of Vlad (bad, overused, fundamentally misunderstands Bruce’s character as a whole for a shit joke)
Woke: bruce wayne doesnt remind danny of vlad masters, but of his best friend sam manson
black hair? check ✅
jewish? check ✅
richer than god? check ✅
gothic? well, mister wayne isnt himself but he lives in the most gothic city on earth so quasi-check ✅
loudly and proudly an activist for various rights including environmental and womens' rights? check ✅
im tired of the "oh danny runs away from bruce because he's rich and reminds him of vlad" give me a danny who actually likes bruce because he reminds him of his awesome kickass best friend who is also stupidly rich
like i’ve been told about the whole “oh fruit loop joke” before and i still think its a cheap, shallow joke if i’ve ever heard one that flanderizes Bruce’s character to an impressive degree. Vlad and Bruce are only comparable in the same sense that they’re both rich and Bruce adopts kids — but he isn’t doing it because of the “adoption addiction” joke, he’s doing it because he sees himself in the kids he adopts and he wants to give them better than he did. Vlad wants Danny as his son to spite Jack, they are not remotely comparable beyond that.
Like, beyond that too i highly doubt vlad masters gives his employees benefits like bruce wayne does. who canonically hires reformed villains and has various branches of medical, industrial, technology, etc in his company in order to help the people of gotham. does Vlad Masters run charities, soup kitchens, etc?? is Vlad contributing to the community? No, no he isnt.
#dpxdc#dp x dc#dp x dc crossover#dpxdc crossover#dpdc#yes i know its a joke. its only funny in moderation#its also a shit joke#dpxdc vent#this doesnt mean anything i was just getting this off my chest. dont come @ me about it being a joke#i will only repeat what i said: its a shit joke and i dont care#it should be said#also knowing butch hartman and his love for all things superhero i wouldnt be surprised if sam is genuinely meant to be a caricature of#bruce wayne. considering how a lot of other DP things are inspired of the DCU and MCU. Freakshow. the reality gauntlet. danny is reminiscen#of spiderman#like think about it: she's jewish. she's gothic. she's loudly an activist. she's the top athlete in her grade. she's incredibly rich.#she's slightly emotionally constipated. she might actually be supposed to be a caricature of bruce wayne

I feel like there are two truths, that we rightly celebrated when Pharaoh’s army were drowned, and that at the same time G-d was heartbroken that their creation was drowning—and neither response is wrong.
Both are entirely valid and normal responses to have to the death of evil men (who nevertheless were still people), and you just kinda gotta live with that complexity. like, you can’t expect people not to grieve the death of any part of G-d’s creation, but you also can’t expect people not to sing when their persecutors are gone.
I think G-d made us to feel both, and they made some of us to feel one more than the other, and that’s okay.
#i contain multitudes#2 jews 3 opinions#this is inspired by discourse I’ve seen in the Jewish community around celebrating the death of Hamas/Hez leaders but not limited to it#jumblr#judaism#jewblr#jewish#nuance

I've been doing a lot of reflection as of late, especially after this past class.
This past class was about the Torah and Tanakh in general, and the way the rabbi talked about the commandments (specifically the ten commandments) has made me really reflect on how I interpret them, specifically the fifth commandment, or honoring your mother and father.
This is a commandment I have wrestled with for a long time - in fact, it brought me away from g-d at multiple times. I was severely abused when I was incredibly young by my mother, and I used to feel insulted at the implication that I were to honor her while she got to live a better life. It was hypocritical, in my eyes.
But this rabbi surmised that this particular commandment was because parenthood is an act of creation, something that is like the g-d from which we come from. My realization is this: I don't think we're necessarily meant to take even these commandments literally.
I this particular commandment is more of a call to honor creation - creation is a gift, and like any gift, many people simply will not like it and will discard it. The person who abused me created me, but she did not honor creation. She didn't honor me, but I can still honor it.
I have started to honor creation much more. I'm too young, too unstable, not mature enough to be a father (though I fantasize about it), but I create all the time. I create relationships, I create with my hands through crochet. I create memories, I create my world. And I can honor who I am and where I came from that made me who I am. I've been learning one of the mother tongues of my family (Italian, since part of my family originates there) and it was judaism that inspired me to do this.
I don't think g-d wants me to honor my abuser. I think He wants me to remember the Holy action of creation. When I am a father, that act of creation will be Holy, and indeed, I am already joyful about the thought.
I have seen many people struggle with this particular commandment, but I think this perspective helps me personally. I don't think I ever have to forgive my abusers (plural), and I don't think I am commanded to simply because they happened to be family. I am commanded to recognize the holy, to elevate the mundane. In doing so, I will remember g-d. Through creation, I honor g-d and everything he has done for us, for me, and for our collective people.
#jumblr#jew by choice#jewish conversion#personal thoughts tag#abuse tw#i am not sharing this for the sake of pity and i also ask not to be told to divulge my abuse story. that isn't relevant#i have been needing to engage with this topic for a long time though and judaism has helped me a bit in navigating healing#but i decided to share this publicly in the hopes it will help other survivors specifically of familial/parental abuse#i know how it feels (in general). it's so lonely and you can really harbor (understandable) baggage about this particular commandment#i have a meeting with My Rabbi (sponsoring rabbi) and i might bring this up. we've only spoken once face-to-face (zoom)#so that might be really Intense to bring up to him but he is very kind and i trust him (which is why he is My Rabbi)#and he has already told me that he WANTS me to wrestle with g-d and His word *with* him#again i am posting this publicly so i can document my thoughts and keep them straight but also with the hope it MIGHT help others#if it even *casually* inspires another survivor i will feel so grateful (though it is THEIR achievement and not mine to claim)#i want us to survive. i want us to eat well. i want us to smile#i will say that this must be a very sudden whiplash in tone from my last post about sex. from sex to awful horrific abuse#my stream of consciousness is just Like This though in the sense that i have very sudden realizations and tonal whiplashes#so you're just getting a very frank look into how my brain is structured and what my brain thinks are important enough to think about#if i seem much more verbose it's because i needed to write this on my laptop which makes typing and more importantly yapping even *easier*

Not sure what the actual term for it is (I'm reasonably sure it isn't actually 'standpoint epistemology') but the sort of people who make 'listen to [x] voices' the central principle of understanding politics seem to ten to be (unsurprisingly, I guess) just utterly vicious to people who share the identity but don't agree with them. Like to the same degree as the actual identified oppressors/natural enemies.
#it's 2am and I'm rambling#this post most directly inspired by seeing the way a few different big zionist blogs talk about Jewish Voice For Peace#but point generalizes imo#musing

I think more than the message that “Zionism is NOT Judaism” which is true but rings hollow to me I would like to see people embracing the fact that Zionism directly contradicts many Jewish values and that anti-Zionist Jews see their faith as inherently connected to their activism against the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians. I was taught to be anti-Zionist largely by Jewish friends and comrades and I continue to lean on them for guidance and clarity as they bravely stand against the propaganda their institutions foisted on them from the moment they were born. In return I work to fulfill the promise that I will make them feel safe in any place, not just the occupied land they were raised to see as the only home where they would not face anti-Semitism. the fight for a free Palestine and the fight for a world where Jewish people can exist without fear are intrinsically linked and must be pursued together
#it’s just like crazy every time I see an explainer that’s like#‘you might not believe it but actually zionism is not a jewish value’ and I’m like ????? obviously???? but we move 💗#obviously not ignoring Jewish people raised with no attachment to Israel who are often erased in these#conversations just that it is always inspiring to me to know that people taught about ‘a land with a people and a people without a land’ etc#etc can break through that and embrace liberatory politics even when like their campus hillel tries to shut down every palestinian speaker

anyone who hangs around jewish people regularly will eventually meet a jew they dont like. this has nothing to do with judaism but rather the fact that people from any group can suck! it's also not an excuse to be antisemitic, you just met a jew who happens to be a dickhead, not a representative of the entire jewish community nor permission to be an antisemite
#jewish#jumblr#insert rant about my mother bc even though she's been one of my biggest inspirations and i love her#she has done some absolutely awful shit#nothing to do with her being jewish she just is horrible sometimes

I'm a Zionist.
I'm tired of pro-Palestine anti-Zionists trying to turn 'Zionist' into a bad word, an antisemitic slur. And they demand that we Jews reject Zionism and that we only embrace alternative responses to antisemitism that they approve of.
You know what happened to the Jewish proponents of other solutions? The assimilationists, Bundists, territorialists, and Jewish communist revolutionaries were murdered. And now, the left wing antisemites hate the Zionists too. Why? What did the Zionists do that was so offensive to the anti-Zionists? I'll tell you what they did.
Zionists created the first independent Jewish state since the Bar Kokhba revolt. Zionists tried to bring as many Jews to safety as possible while the rest of the world closed their doors to them. And when they couldn't do so legally, they risked their lives to bring Jews home covertly during the Aliyah Bet. Zionists restored an indigenous people's sovereignty over their own land after a millennia of colonization, deforestation, and dispersion. Zionists restored an ancestral and historic language after millennia of forced disuse. Zionists took in and saved the lives of the Mizrahim when they were violently expelled by their home countries. Zionists created a prosperous, liberal democratic nation state in a part of the world very hostile to every word of that. And Zionists successfully defeated one, two, three, four, and are currently fighting off a fifth genocidal war of annihilation against all of their accomplishments and people.
What did the anti-Zionists do? They opposed every one of those things.
So, when you anti-Zionists hurl that label at my feet, 'Zionist', as if it were something to be ashamed of, something dirty, something to run away from, it won't work, because I will pick up that label and wear it as a badge of honor.
#zionism#antisemitism#jewish#anti zionisim#jumblr#leftist antisemitism#israel#left wing antisemitism#when they say “We hate Zionists not Jews!” I see red#Because 85%-95% of Jews are proud Zionists#if you use Zionist as an pejorative its an instant block#call me a zionazi or zio all you want#this post is partially inspired by Matt Santos's speech from the West Wing tbh

Saw this and immediately thought of your wholesome Superman rework. 🏳️⚧️
aaah I'm put in an awkward place when folks send other people's fanart and I...don't like it 😅 like traditionally it's fandom etiquette to just scroll away when you see fanon/fanart you don't like, but when I'm put on the spot like this and have my work directly compared to it...welp.
While it's nice to see more recognition to possible queer readings of marginalized supers, I'm wary of how mainstream queerness has been used to pinkwash adaptations of the more racialized aspects of the character in question. Superman is an allegorical analog for a white-passing Jewish immigrant, but in MAWS those themes are universalized to being just "different". There's a whole episode where Clark's marginalization is likened to that of a gay couple, and how he's forced out of the closet because having boundaries and privacy hurts his friends' feelings. Never once in the show is he likened to immigrants or people of color who experience xenophobia.
I haven't watched X-Men '97, but I do find it troubling that Sunspot- whose very origin involves him experiencing anti-Black violence- has his marginalization likened to just queer struggles. A non-Black actor has yet again been casted to portray him. Just another example of how Sunspot in particular has been gradually getting whitewashed in new takes. It's just with queerness now too.
I think this is why it kind of gets to me when people read my "wholesome" Superman-comic-about-losing-parts-of-yourself-to-xenophobia as a trans allegory. It's like whitewashing via pink kryptonite.
#askjesncin#I know it's just a gag comic chillax but I'm also allowed to not like it :') you're free to hc any character as trans but#can we not essentialize Morrison's contributions to DC as “being nonbinary” like Devin Grayson is bi and wrote Jon Pride Is A Party Kent#Morrison co-created Damian Wayne among MANY THINGS like they're not just “the All Star Superman writer” guh#that's a MAWS inspired Superman design too...grrr. the hot take is white queer identity is more palatable than POC identity nowadays#like u bring up nonbinary Morrison but not Jewish Sons of Immigrant creators Shuster and Siegel? mkay

For the people who still think the colony of Israel has a right to defend itself:
They're not defending anything, they're just having fun killing:
Update 1 (17/10/2023) for the confused and sceptics :
Update 2 (10/22/2023): To add some context to this post following Reuters (direct link to article) attempt to verify the reality of the IDF Facebook post.
In fact, Reuters failed to verify anything: as the agency admitted in its article, its journalist "could not find the impostor's Facebook account or the publication on the platform social network".
They then contacted "a spokesperson for the IDF", who told them that " the Facebook post was not shared by one of its official accounts. He added there was only one official IDF Facebook page in Arabic that carries a verification tick "
A Reuters reporter also contacted"a representative for Meta, Facebook’s parent company, told Reuters the page was removed".
In this total absence of material evidence, and relying solely on the statements of these two sources which are the least reliable when it comes to commenting and sharing information and facts about the war against the Palestinians (the Israeli army is party to the conflict therefore It is biased and will protect its agents and soldiers- and Facebook has a history of censoring Palestinian content that could be used to document violence and help legally qualify zionist crimes).
Reuters came to this hasty conclusion:
Their main arguments are that
The Israeli occupation army never admitted to bombing the hospital and blamed Islamic Jihad, so it had no reason to celebrate.
Reuters journalists conveniently ignore the timeline. The IDF message welcoming the bombing of the Baptist hospital in Gaza was published immediately after the attack, while the controversy over the perpetrators of the attack began a few hours after its deletion.
Until the controversy, no one wondered who was behind the attack. The zionist army has always publicly assumed its crimes: it even ordered (according to the clerics who were in charge of the administration of the hospital) on several occasions the hospital to evacuate, knowing perfectly well that it was impossible. It was only when outrage became widespread that western media, including Reuters, began to question the origins of the strike. There's a post on Tumblr that pulls together the subtle changes in headlines to make it seem like Israel never took credit for the attack (even though it destroyed different 2 floors of the hospital a few days before the biggest attack).
There are other videos on Mohammed El Kurd's Twitter account showing the zionist army celebrating its strikes. There are videos on social media of zionist soldiers humiliating prisoners in their custody, so gloating on social media is not a new practice for them.
There is no reason why they should not celebrate what they consider a victory: their ministers have already publicly and clearly stated that civilians who do not leave northern Gaza, whatever their reasons, will be assimilated to Hamas fighters. So everything is consistent; in their minds, hitting innocent and defenseless civilians is legitimate and they are happy about it.
On its Twitter account, the Israeli military removed a video that purported to prove that Islamic Jihad carried out the attack, but ultimately did not prove its claims. So they also have a habit of deleting their own content when they realize that it exposes them more than it helps them.
Other journalists (Al Jazeera uses its own images: it is the only media that remained in Gaza and they filmed all the attacks, information from Channel 4) and independent experts on weapons of war and geolocation worked on the question of identifying the perpetrators of the bombing of the hospital. So far, their preliminary conclusion is that the Israeli military's claims do not match the facts and material evidence on the ground.
Full details of this debate are on the X/Twitter accounts of Lowkey and Mohammed El-Kurd (look for posts made on October 17).
2. I don't really know how Facebook/Meta works: I never had an account on it (I mean I never used it properly: I opened an account years ago, exclusively to follow the activity of a group that I was part of in life but closed it after a few weeks without interacting beyond a few likes), but on Twitter you can hide the checkmark.
Even if the checkmark cannot be hidden, there is nothing in the Reuters "report" to indicate that the Zionist army does not maintain multiple accounts - some with checkmarks and some without - and does not delete accounts that are not officials when it does not suit their interests.
They have a history of spreading fake news: from rumors about 40 beheaded babies, to accusing Palestinians of bombing themselves, to creating fake documents to accuse Hamas of planning attacks on primary schools while manipulating parents by buying YT ads shown during videos aimed at children to improve their image damaged by their violence with families, and to justify the harm they do to the children of Gaza.
I'm only making this long argument because Lowkey and Mohammed El-Kurd deleted the tweets I reposted and I think they shouldn't have done so. I understand why: it actually seems like an insignificant speck in an ocean of real crimes, but I personally consider it symbolic and indicative of the true and greater zionist project: genocide.
Genocide in international law is based on proof of intent to destroy a group, and the zionist army's mocking Facebook post establishes beyond doubt that nothing is accidental on the zionist side, everything is premeditated and based on their superiority complex over the Palestinian people.
