I have so many versions of the Scarecrow but I wanted to try and do a more original take on him! Big ol info dump about him under the cut :3c
Born Josephine Keeny, Yonatan Crane uses his knowledge of chemistry and biology to keep his lycanthropy at bay, lest he go hog wild and start eating people.
When completely in control he is a court-ordered psychiatrist, truly believing that even the most vile criminal can be rehabilitated. Unfortunately for those who refuse change, he resorts to various ways of training them to fear their own crimes. Failed experimentation gives him the ingredients needed to stay human, so he gets over failure quickly. He's highly intelligent, softly spoken, and can be extremely passive-aggressive. He WILL hold a grudge. Despite having studied psychology and knowing it well, he has very poor social skills.
If he fails to prevent a transformation he turns into the Scarebeast, a wild and powerful animal capable of self-awareness but not of speech. The Scarebeast is akin to that of a wild animal and so is harmless if it doesn't feel threatened. You could even pat, brush, and ride the Scarebeast if it sees you as a friend. Transforming back into a human puts great strain on Yonatan's body and mind, meaning that he can be left in an altered state for days to weeks afterwards- This state is the Scarecrow, who is between animal and human. The Scarecrow will run at you on all fours unprovoked and is in fact more dangerous than the Scarebeast in terms of rage and vindictiveness.
The scars covering Yonatan's body are from medical experimentation and strain from transformation, but a majority of them are from the abuse inflicted by his great-grandmother growing up. He was born out of wedlock and was noticeably not white, so the woman treated him as less than human. His condition became obvious and so he was seen as being from the devil, suffering failed exorcisms and various abuse. Growing into a socially stunted but physically beautiful young girl, his guardian felt that he would use his looks for evil and so poisoned his mind into believing he was hideous - Something that he never stopped believing. Ironically she never injured his face as that would then make the abuse too obvious.
His first-ever transformation caused his guardian to suffer a fatal heart attack, and he lived off her corpse for several days before fleeing. He never knew his parents, but he knew about them from photos and journals kept hidden in the house he grew up in; Choosing to change his first name to reflect his half-Jewish mother and taking his surname from his Native American father. He feels entirely disconnected from those cultures and has only recently been studying to learn more.

— SWEET FESTIVE LOVE
summary — so much has been taken from your girlfriends, so bringing a taste of the holidays into your shared apartment gives back some of the magic they lost out on for so long
warning(s) — just a sweet morning with your girlfriends, the faintest most nondescript mention of wanda/natasha’s childhoods
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was easier said than done; escaping from bed without waking the two Avengers you slept between, but eventually by some kind of miracle, you managed to untangle yourself from their warm bodies and the heavy blankets you had been practically cocooned beneath without too much trouble, and once your bare feet hit the cold hardwood, chills immediately spreading up your bones at the fluctuation of temperature, you were free to escape into the living room where Halloween decorations taunted you on every surface.
The first thing you did was switch the overhead lights on and start a pot of coffee in the kitchen — more for Natasha than yourself. You wouldn’t have much time before they noticed you were missing from bed and came to find you with worried and panicked frowns on their sleepy faces, but coffee was as good of a peace offering as any for your scarlet headed girlfriend. Wanda would just laugh when she eventually found you, she was always the last to jump to conclusions when it came to your spontaneous disappearances.
With coffee brewing and dawn approaching, the fresh-feeling yelled-toned sunlight that peaked through the windows created a gentle golden hue within the eerily quiet apartment, you set off on your original mission, the entire reason you wrangled yourself out of bed so early; setting up for Christmas.
You’d sat with the idea for weeks before you brought it up to your girlfriends, knowing Wanda came from a Jewish family, and Natasha had been cheated of a childhood entirely, you didn’t want to overstep on your first holiday season together, still in the stage of navigating new traditions and celebrations, but the witch had assured you that she didn’t mind the decorations and traditional festive traditions you wanted to bring into the apartment. She was secure in her upbringing (the little she got to have before everything was ripped away at the very least), and she enjoyed the cheesiness of a jolly sleigh riding home intruder and gingerbread men. Natasha had been otherwise indifferent when the conversation turned to her, not the most forthcoming when it came to reliving the Ohio mission, but you caught the slight curl to her pink lips when you started rambling about your family's traditions. After that, you’d slowly started to accumulate different decorations that you thought encapsulated theirs and your personalities perfectly. You shied away from the brighter reds and greens that overpopulated stores, sticking with cooler tones and golds that were more their laidback energy.
You started the process by dismantling all of the fall decorations you’d placed out in September, piling them all on the couch to be put away later on when you had more of an idea as to where all the Christmas decor would be going. You replaced styrofoam pumpkins and scarecrows with porcelain pine trees and snowmen, sprinkling fake snow and vines of artificial holly across the mantle where you’d be handing the matching stockings you had custom made.
You cleared the windowsill in the center of the front wall, stacking the picture frames on the arm of the couch before you went back to decorating, spreading a navy blue table runner across the white trim to add contrast to the primarily red and green decorations. You’d gotten a lot accomplished by time you heard panicked feet shuffling down the stairs, fumbling over the placement of palm sized glass dreidels when Natasha’s presence became known.
“There you are!” She gasped, tugging her fingers through her slept on red curls, keeping them out of her face as the panic turned into annoyance. “Halloween was yesterday, Y/N.” She emphasized her displeasure with a grumpy huff, staring straight at your collection of nesting dolls that were sitting where her beloved jack-o-lantern resided just last night.
“Oh don’t be such a scrooge.” Wanda called from the top of the stairs, amusement clear in her tone as she figured what you were up to, clearly not as worried as Natasha had been. She came down the stairs with less of a rush, busy tying her hair up into a ponytail before she paused at the bottom of the steps when her eyes drifted over to where you were standing. “Dove.” Her tone drips with fondness and appreciation as she takes note of the silver menorah in the center of the windowsill, the blossoming sunlight reflecting off of the glass dreidels that were scattered around as well, casting small shadows of rainbow light against the opposite wall.
“I know you don’t really celebrate Chanukah, but I wanted you to feel represented too. I hope I got it right.” You fiddle with your fingers nervously, “I looked up so many menorahs. I made sure the shamash.. is that what it’s called?…I made sure the shamash was a different height, and that the eight branches were level. So many I looked at weren’t.”
Wanda’s gaze was practically bleeding with adoration as she crossed the living room to hold your face tenderly in her hands, “Thank you.” She kissed your lips earnestly, brushing her fingers over your cheeks delicately before she flickered her gaze to the little details you paid close attention to. She spotted a gold Star of David sitting next to a suction cup hook, not yet hung up wherever you intended to place it, but her heart swelled at the intentions.
“You’re welcome.” You giggled shyly, leaning in to kiss her sweetly as she embraced you in a true and tight embrace. “Now! Since you both decided to wake up, the tree needs to be set up, and I wasn’t tall enough to hang that sign or the mistletoe!” You called out smugly, staring directly at Natasha who just groaned defeatedly, but you knew she didn’t mind, she was just too proud to admit how nice it was to see the apartment so lively and normal. This was all she’d ever wanted her life to amount to.

My 12 best fanfics
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Multiple people have tagged me to post my 10 best fanfics! I did 12 so that I could easily format a bunch of Penguin Classics covers for them. If you write fic and haven't done this yet, consider yourself tagged!
Darkest Timeline: My infamous Evil Lancelot series which I wrote in a quarantine-induced brain spiral, for which I am still expecting the Arthuriana fandom to excommunicate me. Please read the warnings, this is an emotional Dead Dove Do Not Eat.
Bride of Thorns: Morticia the gothic heroine marries Gomez the brooding hero.
The Most Poetical Topic: Jonathan "Scarecrow" Crane makes a date with a cute bookseller. Original Character Do Not Steal!
The Mel Brooks Cameo in Twin Peaks: Audrey Horne visits an old Jewish gangster. Mel Brooks worked with David Lynch on The Elephant Man, so what if they had continued their partnership?
Sir Wishbone and the Bad Day: A Wishbone episode about Sir Gawain and the Green Knight. Joe getting his first detention is just like having to meet a guy to get your head cut off!
Opera Fantastique: Christine's bad reincarnation memories from the 1989 Phantom of the Opera film are just beginning.
Et in Arcadia Ego: A folk horror episode of The Prisoner. Is Six in the sway of black magic or just hallucinogens and manipulation?
Beware the Beetle: Batman has to read The Beetle by Richard Marsh when someone starts doing Beetle-themed crimes. Written for @bluestockingbaby's wonderful idea!
Gentle Wolves: A fairy tale-style confrontation between Vulpes Inculta, Craig Boone and the Courier. A fan favorite on the Fallout Kink Meme.
The Dream Journal of Lucy Westenra: Lucy has pleasant dreams of a romantic visitor which soon turn much less pleasant. My response to the idea that Lucy was 'asking for it'.
Alice in Camelot: Reading Arthurian legends can feel like reading Alice in Wonderland. Alice herself questions the logic.
Nyarlathotep: A Midrash: Moses's Pharaoh was Nyarlathotep, and Moses's miracles were dark and strange. One way or another, his people will be freed.

How different are the Wicked novels? Are they worth reading?
Yes!
Please, if you have the time, read them. You won't regret it.
As for your first question, they are completely different universes.
The musical itself doesn't cover a lot of ground. (Minus some delightful surprises, the film stays faithful to the musical.)
In fact, as much as I love it for its catchy tunes (they were a big part of my childhood) and charming perfomances, I have to admit that it's a very watered down family friendly (and thus straight) adaptation of Maguire's books.
Said books are far more preoccupied with the Animals' marginalization, because Maguire utilized them to comment on antisemitism: Hitler's Jewish victims being treated as animals/subhumans.
Various adult themes: cultural inequality, politics and education ethics to name a few.
There are violence, sex and substance abuse.
Regarding Elphaba, she is not a misunderstood outcast, who craves acceptance because everyone hates her.
She's darker; a cynical intellectual and later a leading figure in a revolutionary terrorist movement.
She defies trad gender roles (there's talk about her being intersex as well), is not religious and embraces her skin color.
She has a child, Liir.
There's no stupid Glinda/Fiyero/Elphaba love triangle either.
Glinda never has a thing with Fiyero and doesn't want to. She has romantic tension with Elphaba (which Maguire confirmed) and seems to be in love with her (although that's open to interpretation).
When they part ways, Elphaba kisses her and tells her to "hold out, my sweet." And Glinda does, for decades.
Fiyero is not a Disney-esque himbo player. He is a tribal king with blue diamonds on his face, in a loveless marriage with Sarima. He has an affair with Elphaba, which alters her life for the worse.
She lives some years in a monastery, then with Fiyero's family. When they get captured, Elphaba ends up ruling the West.
Also, Fiyero is not the Scarecrow. Elphaba has hallucinations (she exhibits some serious mental health issues) about him coming back to her as a last attempt to get the forgiveness that she desires (because he got murdered by the Oz guards).
Then there's Nessa, who becomes a powerful tyrant that can stand on her own, but she doesn't do it to force a man to stay with her.
Back to Glinda.
She's more or less a background character.
She marries a guy that solidifies her position in the upper echelons of society and allows her to retreat into a conventional life. Her marriage is devoid of passion; she does not love him in a romantic sense. There are even rumors that she uses her husband as a cover to hide her "true interests," because Oz is rather conservative and proper.
Glinda helps Liir and his child, Rain.
The Midwife confides in the younger characters that Elphaba and Glinda seemed more than friends.
There are hints that Elphaba's death might have been fake or that she might have used a spell which would allow her to get resurrected.
In "Out of Oz" (last book in the series), Glinda gets incarcerated for committing treason against the forces of Oz.
Of course, it's clear that she'll be freed at some point, because the public won't stand for it.
However, Glinda doesn't worry about that. She is confident that "[Elphaba]'ll free me."
Because of this, Rain and other characters worry that Glinda lost it due to her age.
Yet, in her final scene, a mysterious person comes to free her. Glinda says, "You wicked thing. You've taken your own sweet time, of course."
That's what Glinda used to call Elphaba at school, but it's ambiguous.
Did Glinda die and hallucinate Elphaba in her last moments? Did she die and reunite with Elphaba in the afterlife?
Or maybe Elphie did come to free Glinda and the two left Oz together.

I‘m pretty sure you‘ve said before that you find Joker boring and/or overused. Has there ever been a time/story where you found him/his dynamic with Batman actually interesting?
Because for me he feels like he‘s close to having interesting interactions with Bruce, but something is missing 99% of the time. (might just be me though).
(could also be that he works better as a 'concept'. Just chaos/evil etc. instead of having a proper characterization/?) I‘m not talking about Joker 'backstory'. That can stay far away from me. He just came like that in the mail (no return address). So let’s not ask any questions about his nasty vibes.
Also! Thoughts on court of Owls? I don‘t know if you‘ve ever talked about them before! (Though to be fair- all I‘m really sure of when it comes to them is 'make Zombie bird people' and 'Capitalism')
And if both of these questions are just 'meh' to you;
I‘m always eager to read more about Bruce and Stephanie >:)
(Also Duke and Cass and TimandDickandDamianandTitusand…)
“He came like that in the mail (no return address)” is truly the ideal Joker backstory. I want him out there giving a contradictory answer to every question he’s ever asked.
I think he should have a consistent characterization, even if its just “for the lolz”. I truly think he would do anything if its funny. I dont want him to be some kind of Chaos Entity, but an entity of chaos, if you feel me. Just. The personification of nihilism in its most boring form.
I do think he’s perfectly capable of being interesting? I just view Death in the Family as the “end” of that interest. In my mind, whatever sympathies Batman would have ended there. At that point, yes, Joker was a killer. But all of his kills had been shtick, had been theme, had been, essentially, part of the joke. Robins death was the joke, and i think that closed a door on him. You reached the end point, its done, anything that happens after that is beating a dead horse.
And Bruce has a lot of villains that “reflect” back on him. Harveys idealism, Ivys frustration with humanity, Scarecrow and his fear, etc etc. so hes just not that important to me. Im sure there are stories with him that are good or do interesting things, I just avoid him in general. He’s already peaked in high school and now he’s at the villain reunion reminiscing about the good old days.
Court of Owls is. Complicated. Because so you have this super secret evil cabal group of the rich and powerful? And they secretly run the whole town? And the only confirmed rich Jewish family in Gotham is part of them?? Ok. Ew. There is a fanfic (which i will rec in the notes as soon as i remember the name) that did a very clever work around where the court was a myth, just a conspiracy theory with no truth, BUT a group of rich shmucks decided to start a group and named themselves after the conspiracy. Which i do like because of the levels of irony involved. However you cant make the Kanes part of it. Sorry.
I also (and this ive probably mentioned before) dont like when the Wayne Murder is some conspiracy. A simple everyday mugging gone horribly wrong is just so much better story wise. However, rich people fucking with each other by using a common conspiracy they all know is fake is actually kind of funny. Martha getting an envelope stuffed with Owl feathers and rolling her eyes because of course Penelope is angry she looks better in red is hilarious.

🎃 Welcome to the Crane Farm 🎃
Hello, my name is Moffy. You can also call me Fear Queen or Mistress, whichever you feel most comfortable with. I am an ADULT and while the majority of this blog is safe for work, I do occasionally post spicy memes or jokes, nothing past a PG13 rating or super explicit.
This blog is all about the DC villain Jonathan Crane. I've had this blog since 2015 and it's been a regular source of happiness for me. I am constantly working to be a better person and to generally have an open mind. With that said, you are welcome here if you are a person of color, you are welcome here if you are disabled, you are welcome here if you are nurodivergent and of course, all who fall under the LGBT+ umbrella are valid and welcome to share their headcanons! I am not discriminatory towards any creed or religion, so if your Scarecrow is Jewish for example, I'd love to hear about it! Any headcanon as long as it's not bigoted, is welcome!

thinking about how Saint Jonathan is "model of loyalty to truth and friendship” (according to Wikipedia) and thinking about a young trans Scarecrow who is lonely taking it as a saint name in his confirmation in the hope it’ll make god send him friends and later taking it as his own name

💙💙Loved that you made Johnathan Crane Jewish!!! It's so jarring (in a good way) to see Scarecrow happily participating in a religion, especially after multiple comic issues dealing with his trauma due to Christianity. Can you tell me why your Scarecrow decided to become Jewish?
THANK YOU I've been waiting for this question. I imagine Jon would have already had a good amount of knowledge about judaism and other religions, since he's a reader and would be curious, but for obvious reasons, would avoid joining anything religion-related for a long time. What makes Jon fall in love with judaism is over time after he found his found-family among fellow rogues in arkham who happen to be jewish, and they share their culture with him. I can see him thriving in a jewish community where his complicated feelings about religion/g-d/etc. are accepted and his many questions encouraged. He strikes me as someone who has lost faith completely, but longs for Something, not necessarily religion or g-d, but community. His home was never safe, he must've felt like he never truly had a home or family, and I can see him finally feeling like he's found those things he's longed for in his jewish community. Somewhere safe, where he's allowed to have his questions and complex feelings about religion be encouraged and accepted.
Those who know will know, but g-d is quite complicated in judaism and extremely different from christianity's concept of a god. G-d is personal and differs based on whoever you ask and you can even be atheist and jewish even if you convert. Even if you do believe in g-d in some way, too, which I imagine is how Jon would have an atheistic view of g-d. You're encouraged to question and form your own thoughts and have conversations about it. G-d wrestling, baby!!
I also think it would be an interesting way for him to face an overcome his fears related to religion. I know for me at least, it's definitely been an empowering experience.

Hello new mutual!! 🌈 ❤️ 🧠 for the fandom ask game!!
Hiya new mutual! So lovely to make your acquaintance and bond over horror haterdom opinions! Sorry for the delay on this, but hope you enjoy, and thanks for sending!
Fandom Ask Game
🌈- Character you have queer headcanons for: Gosh, it's hard to think of a character I don't have queer headcanons for, but I'll try to list some with non canonical confirmation - Christine Daae is bi and genderfluid and Meg Giry is a lesbian (Phantom of the Opera, any iteration), ditto for Elphaba and Glinda respectively (+ bi Fiyero), Katniss Everdeen and Johanna Mason are lesbians (and I don't even like the Hunger Games!), as is Nina Sayers of Black Swan, show!Daniel Molloy is gay on Interview With the Vampire, Xion of Kingdom Hearts is a nonbinary lesbian, and Batman Returns Selina Kyle is transfeminine, to name a few.
❤️ - Ship that you could write 100 fics for: oh to be able to finish even at least one fic or get inspiration for one probably the Scarecrow, Jonathan Crane and Becky Albright of DC comics, also known as JonBecky, Carrie White/Sue Snell, or Megstine, or just about any IWTV ship (no really any). And of course, Susannah Sonn and Sheila Nail of Love In Hate Nation.
🧠- What fictional character do you relate to the most? Golly, this is a tough one as this varies from month to month. To name a few off the top of my head - Sarah Chagal of the little known German jukebox musical Tanz der Vampire is a curly haired petite Jewish gothic heroine who wants to eschew the expectations of being a nice Jewish girl and go be a vampire queen, and the battle for her soul sequence between Shabbos candles and the call of the vampire castle was perhaps directly engineered to speak to me. Otherwise, the narrator of The Moth Diaries is yet another nice Jewish girl entangled with vampires and she's a lesbian dealing with specific familial grief to boot (don't @ me) and the diaries could've at points scanned parts of my brain. Louis de Pointe du Lac's guilt and grief and turmoil speaks to me profoundly. Otherwise, as a teenager, Avatar Korra, Peter Quill, Marty McFly, Jeremy Heere, and Beatrice (of Much Ado About Nothing) were Just Like Me FR. I felt uncannily seen as well by Peter Graham of Hereditary. And of course, at times I am Carrie White and at others I am Sue Snell. This is likely non-exhaustive, so I do very much apologize!!!
Thanks so much for sending this. <3

I don't know why all the trees change in the fall but I know you're not scared of anything at all
by Javikami There had been exactly three other times the emergency light had turned on. The first time, a note had been found where apparently Steph convinced Tim to run away when he got grounded for refusing to eat dinner and hitting Alfred when the butler tried to convince him. The second, Jason had been kidnapped for ransom just after Scarecrow had broken out of Arkham. The other was when David Cain had been spotted in Gotham just two months after Bruce found and adopted Cass. She’d refused to come out of the Batcave for three days after it was confirmed he’d moved to another city.   OR An alert on Batman's glove goes off during a Justice League meeting, featuring Superman being done with his shit (and immediately regretting it) Words: 4234, Chapters: 1/1, Language: English Fandoms: Batman - All Media Types, Justice League - All Media Types Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Characters: Bruce Wayne, Dick Grayson, Jason Todd, Cassandra Cain, Stephanie Brown, Timothy Drake, Damian Wayne, Justice League (DCU) Relationships: Justice League & Bruce Wayne, Jason Todd & Bruce Wayne, Batfamily Members & Bruce Wayne, Batfamily Members & Justice League Additional Tags: Batfamily Meets the Justice League (DCU), Batdad, Protective Bruce Wayne, Good Parent Bruce Wayne, the batfam are all little kids, how they ended up in the family so early is a mystery, Just Roll With It, Good Sibling Jason Todd, Mute Cassandra Cain, BAMF Alfred Pennyworth, happens off-screen but still true, Young Tim Drake, Young Jason Todd, Young Dick Grayson, Young Cassandra Cain, Young Stephanie Brown, Young Damian Wayne, Baby Damian Wayne, Jewish Bruce Wayne, only mentioned once but still, Fluff, Family Fluff, Tooth-Rotting Fluff, no beta i wrote this in one day via https://ift.tt/Kay6DUd

So I’m back on my Scarecrow bs
Here are my Becky Albright headcanons and snapshots.
Becky was raised in an ultra-orthodox, Jewish family in Brooklyn (look, I'm jewish don't @ me). It's difficult. Perhaps too difficult. She seeks comfort in tradition and ceremony and yet, as she grows to come of age, the torment comes with it. She still found time to hone a vibrant, inner life, as isolated as it was. In a house with brothers and a domineering father, even her mother and sister don't provide reprieve. Her sister married early into Becky's teens, leaving her alone. As she grows starkly aware in her position as a woman in that community, unease begins to fester. Her fathers calls her Rivka.
The breaking point arrives when her parents don't take her to a doctor outside the community. Scoliosis is a beast when left observed (*This is my particular theory. Namely because I have scoliosis)
She is disowned by her parents at 17, but was taken in by more secular relatives. They buy her a cane and get her into an independent school tailored to teens from unconventional backgrounds.
Becky is a bit late to start college, only by a year or so, and continues to mostly keep to herself. She's early to graduate, though.
She's thankful to go to Gotham for law school instead of anywhere in New York. Too many ghosts. Turns out elitist co-eds evolve into elitist future lawyers. Becky Albright is perfect bait.
She has a lot of complicated feelings surrounding the Jonathan Crane Incident.
Somewhere in the midst, she gives in to impulse and desire. It's not a great situationship but it happens. Starts with them yelling at each other from opposite sides of a street. They stop at a certain point. Enough to catch breaths.
The next night they opt for a dive. Hunched over beers in a dingy, dimly lit basement bar she suggested. In a moment of weakness, she divulges her religious trauma.
She knows she made a mistake when they stagger back to her subletted closet and he calls her Rivka. This is a fear tactic she recognizes. She is repulsed.
Becky Albright is pregnant when she testifies. Just enough that anyone who looks close enough can notice. Not enough that anyone thinks to look for that extra second.
This doesn't make it easy for her. Especially as summer transitions into a new autumn semester. The other law students that tormented her to begin with are vicious now. She knows they know. The more she shows, the more she relies on her cane. Word gets out to her family. Not that she's spoken to them, herself. Through the grapevine, they remind her that none of this would have happened if she just embraced a frum lifestyle.
Studying law leaves a bad taste in her mouth.
Becky sleeps with most of the lights on. Every door double locked. She now shares her closet apartment with a newborn who looks far too much like her father.
Jonathan breaks out of Arkham one night. She debates. Contemplates. And leaves the door open.
She doesn't say anything when he slips in. She expected it. The baby co-sleeps beside her. Someone's got to sleep, at least. Jonathan slips in and stares a moment. Becky, aware, scoots to provide more room. Jonathan, still wearing the first yet rattiest thing he could find, lays on top of the covers. Same as Becky. It's the hottest June Gotham's seen in forty years. They don't talk. In a moment of shared vulnerability, he puts his hand on her freckled arm. He's gone by morning.
This becomes routine for them. One day he sleeps in by mistake. Becky's awake first. Sitting cross-legged on top of the quilt. The baby finally done fussing against her chest. "Hey." She says. Casual. Level. "Hello." Controlled. So much control going into that response.
When she graduates law school, no ones in attendance to see her. But she does find a bouquet of poppies in the kitchen.
The spare key to her apartment is not missing. It was given freely.
