"Romances in space are just out of this world. Love in the dangerous, endless expanse of space isn’t easy. Traveling far distances in ships that you often cannot leave is challenging in the best of conditions. In space, the door is locked and you have to make it work. Interplanetary travel, adventure, and romance are not for the faint of heart. Good thing I have some entertaining books to pick up instead of making the trip yourself.

My favorite romances in space involve a level of mystery, political intrigue, and danger. There is just something about a romantic pairing in trouble that really sells me on their mutual respect, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. When you are in space and in trouble, sometimes love is part of the answer, and I think that’s fun."

My friend and I were talking about what if IT were a sitcom the other day, and I brought up the trope of "main character has an evil identical cousin" (as seen in Jessie, the princess switch 2, and Hannah Montana) and we just kept talking about it until we found an image of Nicholas Hamilton with glasses and KNEW we had to make a shitty oc out of it. So we made a character named Harry Bowers, he's Henry's shitty little british cousin and that is also played by Nicholas Hamilton. It still works on sitcom rules though, so anytime Henry and Harry interact it's shot reverse shot, split screen, and close ups of the back of their heads. It's basically just like the parent trap but worse.

Unlike Henry, he's actually a relatively pleasant person to get along with, but he really enjoys making Henry suffer for literally no reason. Ever since they were little Harry's been cartoonishly abusive, you look at """happy""" old photos of them as kids, and it's always something like Connor smiling into the camera while Harry tries to drown Henry in a lake. He's also just as unhinged as Henry, only instead of violent outbursts to everyone around him, Harry has extreme british passive aggressiveness and does insane shit like move all of Henry's furniture slightly to the left.

In many aspects Harry is Henry's Henry Bowers, only it's worse because nobody likes Henry and everyone agrees he sucks, nobody cares that Harry psychologically tortures him. You might expect Harry to try and steal Henry's life or something, given that they look alike, but he really doesn't want to. Butch and the losers club would absolutely love it if he did though. They're all pretty take it or leave it about him. Thankfully, he only stays for like a week in summer, then disappears for the rest of the year.

Henry hates him so much it's gotten to the point he suspects he poisons him everytime he's here. Everytime he crops up again Henry nearly has a panic attack. His cloyingly stupid british voice announcing "Hello Henry!" sends shivers down his spine. Only made worse by the fact Harry can just pop up behind any surface randomly. He'll close the fridge door and BAM "Hello Henry!". Horror sting music plays everytime it happens too.

Honestly, Harry Bowers might not even be real though, I think Henry might just be having a weird fight club like psychosis.

Jessie Golem has spent much of the last six years sharing the stories of participants in Ontario's basic income pilot program.

A former participant herself, the Hamilton photographer says the promise of three years of guaranteed income was life-changing. 

She was one of 4,000 low-income earners who signed up for the pilot in 2017. At the time, she was working four jobs and hoping to start a full-time photography business. The pilot gave Golem the chance she needed, and she calculated that she could launch the business and be earning more than the $34,000 ceiling for the pilot before it ended.

She didn't get that chance. The Ford government cancelled the pilot in 2018, within a year from its start under the previous Liberal government under Kathleen Wynne.

"If the pilot had been allowed to continue, my life would look a lot different right now," Golem told CBC Hamilton this week. [...]

An Ohio judge has decided that the state’s ban on most abortions was unconstitutional and could not be enforced. Judge Christian Jenkins of the Hamilton county common pleas court also granted a permanent injunction in his ruling on Thursday. Jenkins said that Ohio’s abortion prohibition flouted language in a voter-approved amendment to the state constitution that protected reproductive healthcare. “Ohio voters have spoken. The Ohio constitution now unequivocally protects the right to abortion,” Jenkins said in his ruling. Jenkins’s decision stems from a law that prohibited doctors from performing abortions after the detection of fetal cardiac or embryonic activity. This activity can be as early as six weeks into pregnancy, the Columbus Dispatch reported. While Republican lawmakers in Ohio passed this law in 2019, the legislation did not go into effect until June 2022 – when the US supreme court overturned Roe v Wade.

Jenkins temporarily paused the law less than three months after it went into effect. Healthcare providers in Ohio filed suit to permanently end the legislation, as it drove patients to seek reproductive care outside of the state and imperiled several clinics. A young girl who was sexual assaulted in Columbus, Ohio, even had to travel to Indiana for abortion care, spurring still more anger over the measure. Advocates launched a ballot initiative to ensure that reproductive healthcare rights, including abortion, were protected by the state constitution. This campaign passed in November last year, winning 57% of voting Ohioans’ support, the newspaper said. “This is a momentous ruling, showing the power of Ohio’s new Reproductive Freedom Amendment in practice,” Jessie Hill, cooperating attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union of Ohio, said. “The six-week ban is blatantly unconstitutional and has no place in our law.”

In Ohio, Hamilton County Common Pleas Court Judge Christian Jenkins ruled that the Buckeye State’s abortion ban is unlawful due to the fact that the state’s voters last year voted to put abortion rights protections in the state’s constitution.
