Tom Hiddleston was given a royal assignment on Thursday evening. An ambassador for the Prince's Trust, the Loki actor, 43, attended the charity's Invest in Futures event, where he relayed a poignant message written by King Charles. 

"I really am so pleased that The Trust's work continues to go from strength to strength, having, in recent years, expanded from its mission in the United Kingdom to now supporting young people in twenty-three countries," read Tom. 

"Celebrating the global impact of this work is an achievement which, I must confess, I could not have dreamed of back in 1976 when I started The Trust, using, at that time, my Royal Navy severance pay when I left the Service to help disadvantaged young people achieve their full potential.

"I am thrilled to say that it has now worked with over one million young people, helping them to start careers, launch businesses and re-engage with education. I am enormously inspired by the determination and commitment of young people, one of whom you will hear from later. They are changemakers; they will shape the world's future and we must support them to realise their dreams."

A momentous occasion for the Prince's Trust, the annual Invest in Futures gala is the charity's principal fundraising event, and this year it was held at The Peninsula London in Belgravia. While King Charles has historically attended the annual event, this year, his letter proved extremely powerful, conveying the importance of the charity's work.  

A star-studded affair, Tom was accompanied by his fiancée Zawe Ashton for the festivities. Posing for photos together, the loved-up couple held hands and stared into each other's eyes. HELLO! even spotted lady in red Zawe telling Tom how "gorgeous" he looked in his tux. 

Rounding out the guest list, Prince's Trust ambassadors Joseph Fiennes, Jeremy Irons, Naomie Harris, Major Tim Peake, Luke Evans and Myleene Klass were also in attendance. 

Meanwhile, musical duo Rod Stewart and Jools Holland provided the entertainment, performing songs from their newly launched album Swing Fever, before handing the baton to DJ Cuppy.

It's been a royally busy week for A-lister Tom. Just 24 hours before the letter reading, the actor had been photographed meeting with Queen Camilla at Buckingham Palace. Attending a reception for the BBC's 500 Words Finalists on Wednesday, Tom appeared engrossed in conversation, enjoying a laugh or two with Camilla, and music star Olivia Dean.

Can you explain what you mean when you say A list isn’t what it used to be?

I’m not sure how old you are, but way back in the 80s/90s an A-lister like Tom Cruise or George Clooney or Julia Roberts would make one or two blockbusters a years and get paid millions. They would have their pick of seven or nine figure sponsorship deals for top-tier brand. They could basically call the shots. There was little red to hustle. Once you got to that level of fam (and it could take as little as one movie to get to that level) you were set. That’s the level Meghan wants. She grew up in the 90s reading magazines profiles about Julia and CBK. That was her dream.

That level doesn’t exist anymore. Hollywood doesn’t my have to wait for a charismatic Tom or Julia to emerge from the Iowa boondocks. There’s basically an inexhaustible pool of new telegenic stars from all over the globe. Every marvel movie or Netflix series now comes with a new super talented, but super short-lived star. That means paychecks have shrunk and so has influence. Now Jeremy Renner makes his money in real estate and Jessica Alba has startups.

Yes, we still have Beyoncé and Rihanna, but they are from the 00s. The new stars shine fast and then fade away.

And everyone has to hustle, even the Kardashians are hustling all the time. So does JLo. Even Tom had to hustle hard to sell Maverick to the public.

That life Meghan wanted where you reached a certain level of fame and then you sat in your LA mansion and waited for the paychecks to come in no longer exists.

It's the same thing when people complain that OS is getting paid as much as others actors that have been acting way longer. Like, I understand that it's not fair, but what is he gonna do? Refuse the money? He's also a guy who can't know for sure if he'll still be acting in a few years, he's right to take as much money as he can 🤷‍♀️ absolutely everyone would do the same lmao

that’s the thing is that like. this is a once in a lifetime gig. booking a main part on two MAJOR shows is RARE. (of course it happens - look at peter, angela, jennifer, etc. jeremy allen white, ted danson if we’re venturing outside of this specific show.) i don’t personally blame oliver for accepting the money especially because acting is such an unstable career even if you are established.

i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again, i absolutely think that 911 is the height of oliver’s career. and that’s not an insult to him. (i mean. noel fisher has completely fallen off since shameless, even though most people agree he was one of the best actors on that show. not saying oliver is the best actor on 911, i think most of them are relatively even.) and while he makes money most of us could only dream of, it’s not the kind of money that is going to let him retire without a single care in the world. he’s a very lucky guy, but people act as if he (and other non-a listers in the entertainment industry) are jeff bezos and that’s just. not the case. at all.

do i agree that he (+buck) are favored more than the others? yeah. is it unfair? yeah. but it’s not oliver’s fault.

i don’t love going to bat for white people richer than me but any time anyone is attacking an actor for something they have no control over i just get. so tired.

About a week ago, I posted a WIP graphic that represented a bunch of the Apollo kids (mostly ocs but including canon) using their camp necklaces.  At the time, it went back to only kids that were in camp when Will was, but that’s now been expanded as far back as all the kids Lee ever knew!

Another change is the post-TOA year bead; originally I had a design for The Sun and the Stars, but as that book’s looking more and more like it’s taking place the same summer as TON and therefore won’t have its own bead, I’ve replaced it with a new design!

As always, bead designs are free to borrow with credit, but please don’t use my ocs’ names!  (You are, however, welcome to use the full names I’ve assigned to Yan, Jerry and Gracie, once again with credit).
