Am I Only a God Nearby?
“Am I only a God nearby,” declares the LORD, “and not a God far away? Who can hide in secret places so that I cannot see them?” declares the LORD. “Do not I fill heaven and earth?” declares the LORD. — Jeremiah 23:23-24 | New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® All rights reserved worldwide. Jeremiah 10:23-24 (NASB1995) - I know, O LORD, that a man’s way is not in himself, Nor is it in a man who walks to direct his steps. Correct me, O LORD, but with justice; Not with Your anger, or You will bring me to nothing.

The Woman Who Believed an Unbelievable Message
Almost every Christmas pageant contains the Angel’s appearance to Mary. Luke’s narrative about Mary’s conversation with Gabriel described her reaction to some pretty unbelievable news. If you think about it, there is much to learn from Mary’s response to God’s messenger. (And BTW, the Greek word for angel is anggelos, or messenger—simply put, a courier who brings a message, or a word from someone…

What’s a good reason to not take my own life? I’ve been feeling this way for years. Been to multiple treatment programs. Seen by several different therapists. Anti-depressants. I frequently go outdoors to exercise. Try to fill up my life with being optimistic about my (admittedly nice) job, hobbies, travel, and volunteering. And yet I’m still no better than I was 5 years ago and I have no hope about a happy future. “Your family will miss you.” Ok, and? I think it’s selfish to tell people in pain to continue living like that because some people might temporarily feel sad. They’ll eventually move on. My friends too, especially the ones who are happily married “to their best friends” and having babies and are so happy that they forget I exist.
Hey anon I hope I am not too late! I am just getting out of a hurricane and was without internet access for several days so i apologize for the delay.
But there are so many reasons not to take your own life. In fact, I can’t think of a single reason why you should.
I know it’s tough right now and trust me, I know that depression makes it all feel pointless and worthless and can plague you for years but even though if feels like forever I promise you these feelings and this depression and your circumstances are TEMPORARY. And it would be a tragedy for you to take your life over temporary circumstances and not see what is possible on the other side.
Yes your family and friends will miss you but you should stay because your life has purpose and meaning! Therapy and anti-depressants are good and I’m glad you’ve been trying those things because that means you don’t actually want to die - you just want the pain to stop. And that’s completely understandable and also manageable!
It’s great that you’ve been continuing to exercise and do volunteer work because those things can definitely impact your mood, but they aren’t the source of true joy, peace and happiness. Now I’m a Christian so I’m sure it won’t surprise you for me to say this, but what you are looking for and what you need can only come from God. I urge you to put your faith and trust in him and give him your burdens.
The devil has a hold on you right now, don’t let him win!
“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” - Isaiah 41:10
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. - Jeremiah 29:11
“The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” - John 10:10
“Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken.” - psalm 55:22
“The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. The righteous person may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all.” - psalm 34:18-19
But now that I’ve gone on my spiel, here are some reasons I think it’s good to keep living. Not all my original thoughts but ones i agree with.
1. You matter
2. No one else is you.
3. Your younger self
4. Your next favorite song.
5. Warm blankets.
6. Thunderstorms
7. The fact that you’re in control of your future.
8. Experiencing new cultures.
9. Making new friends.
10. Road trips.
11. Sunsets and sunrises.
12. Reading good books.
13. Learning a new language.

16. Getting packages in the mail.
17. Autumn.
18. Pumpkin spice.
19. Drinking coffee in the morning.
20. Beaches and being able to sink your toes into the sand.
21. Stepping on crunchy leaves.
22. Recovery.
23. Falling in love.
24. Rain.
25. Petting puppies and kittens.
26. Drinking water.
27. Trying something new and loving it.
28. Your favorite artist putting out new music.
29. A new season on your favorite TV show.
30. Planting a garden and growing your own vegetables.
31. Farmers Markets.
32. Trying out the newest local coffee shop or restaurant.
33. Karaoke
34. All of the people you have yet to meet.
35. Horseback riding
36. Stars.

38. Ice tea.
39. Scented candles.
40. Learning something new.
41. Museums.
42. Going to the movies.
43. Hearing your favorite song come on the radio.
44. Learning to make a new recipe.
45. Your life is precious.
46. You are enough.
47. Random acts of kindness.
48. God looked at the world and thought it needed you.
49. Your story could save someone else.
50. Looking back on this time in 10 years and realizing you made it.
There’s an endless amount of reasons to stay alive and I hope some of them resonate with you.
But if you are desperate please reach out to the suicide prevention hotline at 988. If you are outside the US then you can find the number for your location here.
Please know that I am praying for you and please reach out to me again if you want to. I would love to keep up with how you are doing 💜

This has been updated. See the new version here:
Part 1
Part 2
Really rough timeline from Xavier's perspective:
(Spoilers for main story, anecdotes, and character myths. I haven't finished the myths yet, so some things could change)
Xavier is born on Philos. Clearly someone important, as he is constantly under guard. Life is connected to the core of Philos, making him and most people on Philos immortal while the planet remains.
Xavier went to school with MC in year 214, which is 214 years after the destruction of earth. MC has a fatal heart condition.
MC gives him the star charm and dies in his arms. Xavier promises to seek her out in her future lives.
(Rafayel and Zayne's myths on Philos?)
Xavier meets MC again at a Philos Academy as knights in training, sometime near the end of Philos’ life as a planet. Jeremiah goes to the Academy too. Xavier is now a prince (was he from the start?), though he rejects the role. He has a trial in the forest that changes his attitude/demeanor noticeably.
The king dies, and Xavier disappears for about 200 years. MC and Xavier meet up again while investigating the suspicious forest full of Wanderers. Jeremiah is part of MC’s squad.
At some point MC becomes Queen and Xavier her knight.
Xavier leaves MC’s service, and she fakes his death, claiming he died with honors.
Timejump to the past.
1834 Xavier, Jeremiah, Isaiah, Noah, and others stranded on Earth (Part of a team called the Backtrackers? Were on a Backtrack mission when something went wrong in the Deepsace tunnel.)
2018 Xavier checks out a book in the library that MC will check out 30 years later.
2021 Zayne born Sept 5th.
2024 Rafayel born March 6th.
2026 MC born.
At some point in MC and Rafayel's childhood, she saves him and they makes a vow. Also, Rafayel is tricked and his people, the Lemurians, are slaughtered. Some few survivors go into hiding living on land among humans, including his Aunt Talia.
2032 Xavier joins Arthur's police team.
2033 That winter, Noah contacts Xavier for information to make a new identity. Noah mentions wanting to be an ordinary person in this timeline and that he fell in love. Xavier fakes his death as a police officer and encounters a lost little girl. Fights Isaiah in Linkon city in a fight that makes the whole city go dark.
2034 Deepspace tunnel appears and Chronorift Catastrophe (timespace anomaly in Linkon city). Lemurian ruins discovered. MC is 8, taken in by Grandma. Caleb is also adopted by Grandma. MC has protocore shards in her heart. Her first heart doctor is Dr. Noah. 12 year old Zayne loses control of his Evol at the end of summer and has a nightmare about the Grim Reaper for the first time.
Zayne spends 8 years in med school program (about 2037 (age 16?) to 2045 (age 24?)
2045 Xavier meets Arthur at his tombstone. (Zayne’s (age 24?) mission to the Arctic?)
Rafayel seeking revenge overseas, not painting. He then moves to Linkon city and resumes painting again.
Rafayel becomes a lecturer at Linkon University where MC is attending.
Thomas becomes Rafayel’s agent.
Zayne begins working at Akon hospital, eventually as MC’s doctor.
2048 Story begins. MC is about 22. Rafayel says he is 24. Zayne is 27. Xavier claims to be 23.
Thoughts? What am I missing? What did I get wrong? It's a lot to process.

Why do you worship your god YHWH as the only one? This is a legitimate question? What good does it do for you? Everything your god has done for you shouldn't have anything to do with his status, or uniqueness. I've seen the power of gods alien to your own, from Hel (the goddess I'm closest to, though I do worship others), I've seen her stop animals from moving, protect the sick and wounded, and cause a blind preacher to see her and flee. And I've felt her love, felt her comfort (I probably wouldn't even identify as agender if it wasn't for her help). But because she is not your god you would call this demonic? And say my soul is bound for damnation? Why not admit the existence of other gods, and keep to your own if you wish. How can your relationship with your god even be safe if you can't leave for another? How can it be called anything but bigotry to deny another god's divinity while you worship one yourself?
If you're looking for real answers, here are some answers in good faith. I can only hope my words do it justice.
"Why do you worship your god YHWH as the only one?"
Yahweh is the only god (small g) that I have seen working in my life and the lives of those around me, just as you have felt Hel work in your life. I have seen Him quickly answer my prayers and the prayers of others, in ways that I never would've expected. I have felt His love, even in the moments when I didn't deserve it. Especially in those moments. Because of what I have experienced, I firmly believe that the Bible is from Him and that every single word of it is infallible. I believe that Yahweh:
Created the universe (every piece of it, from the largest galaxies to the smallest gluons) (Genesis 1:1)
Fought for the Israelites, His chosen people, when they were being attacked (and always won, no matter what He was up against) (The Book of Judges has plenty of great examples)
Freed His people from Egypt and Babylon on separate occasions (two of the strongest world powers in those times) (The Books of Exodus, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Daniel)
Came to Earth as a baby (Luke 2:11)
Healed the sick and raised the dead while He was incarnated on this earth as Jesus Christ (The Gospel of John, Chapters 9 and 11 among many others)
Died on a cross to cleanse us of our sins that we might be with Him (Luke 23:46)
Rose again after three days, ending the powers of sin and death (Hallelujah!) (Luke 24:6)
Still works in the lives of those who seek Him (Acts 17:27)
Has given His Spirit to those with faith to assist us in our daily trials (Acts 1:8)
Will win the final victory once this world passes away (The Book of Revelation)
Will welcome those who believe in Him into His kingdom (Revelation, Chapter 21)
I believe that He is stronger than any other force in this universe, because He created all of them. Because of what the Bible says, I believe that Yahweh is the the Lord God (big G). He has already done so much for me, and will continue to do immeasurably more as I follow Him. I can see no reason to follow anyone else. No other god is worth following.
"But because she is not your god you would call this demonic?"
Not necessarily demonic. I am open to the possibility of there being other supernatural/divine forces beyond Yahweh. I don't claim to understand the supernatural world. Your gods might be demons or some other kind of spirit. I don't think I'll ever find out, but that is something I'd like to ask Yahweh when I meet him. It's always fascinated me.
"And say my soul is bound for damnation?"
All our souls our bound for damnation. My own soul is bound for damnation. When I die, I will have to stand before Yahweh and his judgment. I will never be able to meet His standards on my own. "Foremost among sinners," as the apostle Paul put it (1 Timothy, 1:15). My only hope is the loving grace and mercy of Jesus Christ, the son of God. Because of the redemptive work He did when He died a criminal's death upon a cross, I have been cleansed of my sins. Christ bore the judgment for me so I don't have to. Just like the prodigal son that Jesus spoke of in His parables, Yahweh will welcome me with open arms. The same can happen for you. I promise it isn't too late.
"Why not admit the existence of other gods, and keep to your own if you wish."
Because these other gods don't have the power to save you. They make promises but cannot deliver on any lasting goodness. You can believe whatever you want. I believe Yahweh has given you the free will to do so. However, I am called to spread the good news of Jesus Christ. Keeping to my own isn't an option.
Yahweh truly wants best for you, as do I. And what is best for you is to live in communion with your creator, who loves you and is calling you back to Him. He will leave the rest of the sheep in His flock to come find you (Luke 15:3-7). There is a part of you, no matter how small or how deep it is buried, that yearns to be with Him. Lean into it. Trust me on this, you will not regret it.
"How can your relationship with your god even be safe if you can't leave for another?"
I believe that I have the free will to leave Him. In fact, there have been plenty of times that I haven't been especially close to Yahweh, of my own volition. I screw up. I fall short. I turn away from Him to chase the fleeting pleasures of this world. Prone to wander, Lord I feel it. And every time He welcomes Me back. I pray daily that I might keep my eyes on Him and not fall away.
In fact, even King David, who was described as "A man after God's own heart" (1 Samuel 13:14) made mistakes. He chose his own ways and desires over Yahweh's, usually to disastrous consequences. However, he always returned to worshiping and praising Yahweh, and Yahweh accepted him back. (2 Samuel, Chapters 11 and 12, most notably 12:20)
This is true love. Yes, He will discipline us and let us deal with the consequences of our mistakes, but He will always forgive us and welcome us back. I truly hope that you have experienced an unconditional love like this. If you haven't, I hope you will experience it at some point from the future. In fact, I hope you will experience Yahweh's endless, undeserved, unconditional, overwhelming love. We were created to experience it. There's nothing else like it.

Unbelievable! The Woman Who Believed in a Preposterous Message

An In Depth Analysis & Study of Joseph Seed’s Message As Well As What He Preached .
As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I’ve been eager to share the true and accurate biblical prophecy that you repeatedly hear throughout Far Cry 5. While many might view it as just a piece of the game’s lore created for the storyline, those who don’t understand may miss that it actually reflects a significant aspect of Christian faith, particularly the various branches and denominations of Christianity. I hope this message reaches other fans and provides a meaningful reference or starting point for deeper exploration into these themes.
1. The Fall of Man and Sin
Joseph Seed's cult, Eden's Gate, revolves around the idea that humanity is inherently sinful and needs to be purified. He often speaks about the moral decay of society and the need for salvation.
Preaching:
Joseph Seed’s Message: "The world is corrupt, and we are the only ones who can be saved. The sins of the world must be cleansed."
Bible Verse(s):
Romans 3:23 - “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
Isaiah 64:6 - “We have all become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous deeds are like a polluted garment.”
Ephesians 2:1 - “And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked.”
Joseph offers a form of salvation that, though extreme, draws on biblical principles of repentance, sacrifice, and devotion to a divinely appointed figure. Just as John 14:6 teaches that salvation comes through Jesus as "the way, the truth, and the life," Joseph positions himself as the divinely chosen leader who can lead his followers to salvation through his guidance and the fulfillment of his prophecy. His call for repentance and personal sacrifice mirrors the biblical call to take up one's cross and follow God's appointed leader, as seen in Matthew 16:24, where Jesus tells His followers to deny themselves and follow Him. Joseph’s emphasis on the "Collapse" as a necessary cleansing of the world echoes the apocalyptic themes of Jonah 3:4, where repentance is urged to avoid judgment and receive divine mercy. Just as Acts 4:12 emphasizes that salvation comes through a specific figure, Joseph sees himself as the appointed messenger chosen to lead his followers through a transformative trial to salvation. In this way, his offer of salvation, though severe, is in line with the biblical patterns of repentance and divine calling, with Joseph positioning himself as a prophet and leader chosen to guide people through a spiritual awakening, even if his methods are unconventional and harsh.
2. The Call to Repentance
Joseph often calls for his followers to "repent" in a violent and dramatic way, especially through rituals like baptism by immersion, which in his case is symbolic of "washing away" their sins through extreme measures.
Preaching:
Joseph Seed’s Message: “Repent and you will be saved—anyone who does not follow me will perish.”
Bible Verse(s):
Matthew 3:2 - "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."
Acts 2:38 - "Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins.'"
Luke 13:3 - "I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
Joseph can be seen as drawing from certain biblical principles, though heavily distorted. Like the prophets in the Bible, Joseph presents himself as a messenger of God, warning of an impending judgment and urging people to repent for their sins. In Matthew 3:2, John the Baptist calls for repentance, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near," which mirrors Joseph’s message of impending collapse and salvation through repentance. He uses fear, similar to how the prophets in the Old Testament, such as Jeremiah 25:4-6, warned of God’s judgment if the people did not repent. Joseph’s use of public confession and submission, akin to the communal acts of repentance in Joel 2:12-13, where the people of Israel are called to return to God with fasting and mourning, reflects a biblical model of repentance, albeit in a coercive and manipulative form. Additionally, Joseph’s calls for personal sacrifice and submission echo Jesus’ teachings in Luke 9:23, where He says, "Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me," showing that repentance, for Joseph, involves not just inner change but a complete outward surrender to his vision of salvation. While Joseph's methods are extreme and morally questionable, his call to repentance is rooted in the biblical tradition of warning, submission, and the promise of salvation, albeit twisted to serve his own agenda.
3. The Apocalypse and The Collapse
Joseph believes that a global catastrophe (referred to as "The Collapse") is imminent and will be the final judgment. His followers are preparing for the end of the world, which he claims is a divine plan.
Preaching:
Joseph Seed’s Message: "The Collapse is coming—God will cleanse the earth, and we must prepare to endure the suffering."
Bible Verse(s):
Matthew 24:6-8 - “You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of birth pains.”
Revelation 6:12-14 - “I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind.”
Matthew 24:36 - “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father.”
This is the boldest reference as well as most important regarding what the end times after the 6th seal. The Sixth Seal in Revelation 6:12-17 describes a dramatic cosmic upheaval as part of God's final judgment. When the seal is opened, there is a massive earthquake, the sun turns black, the moon turns blood-red, and stars fall from the sky, symbolizing the collapse of the natural order and the impending destruction of the world. The heavens themselves are described as receding like a scroll, and mountains and islands are displaced, indicating a complete remaking of creation. In response, people from all walks of life—kings, rich, poor, and slaves—are terrified and seek to hide from God's wrath, realizing that no one can withstand His judgment. This moment underscores the power of God’s ultimate authority over the universe and the inescapable reality of His judgment at the end of time. This is Josephs main drive to prepare his followers, to ready them for the end days.
4. Divine Judgment and The Chosen Few
Joseph believes that he is the chosen prophet, the one tasked with guiding the faithful to salvation. He constantly speaks of his unique connection to God and the righteousness of his cause, often describing the rest of the world as doomed to suffer for their sins.
Preaching:
Joseph Seed’s Message: "I am the chosen one, the one who has been given the power to lead you through the coming storm. The world is broken, and you are the only ones worthy of salvation."
Bible Verse(s):
Matthew 24:30 - "Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earth will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory."
John 14:6 - "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"
Romans 8:30 - "And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified."
Joseph could be seen as a prophet in the sense that he claims divine calling, foresees an impending apocalyptic event, and leads a devoted following, all traits associated with biblical prophets. Like figures such as Isaiah or Jeremiah, Joseph believes he has been chosen by God to warn people of a coming catastrophe, which he refers to as the "Collapse," aligning with the apocalyptic themes found in books like Revelation. He also teaches that suffering is part of God's plan for purification, similar to the way biblical prophets endured hardship as part of their calling (e.g., Jeremiah 15:10, Ezekiel 4:4-6). However, while Joseph shares some characteristics of a prophet—such as charisma and a prophetic message—his methods and message deviate significantly from biblical teachings, which emphasize love, repentance, and salvation over fear, control, and violence. Ultimately, though Joseph fits some aspects of the prophetic role, his approach is more manipulative and self-serving, unlike the biblical prophets who called people to repentance and righteousness through God's grace.
5. Sacrifice and Suffering
Joseph teaches that suffering is necessary for salvation. His doctrine often involves brutal initiation rituals, including violent "baptisms," as a way of purging sin. Followers are told that this suffering is part of God's plan for redemption.
Preaching:
Joseph Seed’s Message: "You must suffer to be saved. Those who endure will be rewarded."
Bible Verse(s):
Romans 5:3-4 - “Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”
1 Peter 4:12-13 - “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed.”
Matthew 16:24 - "Then Jesus said to his disciples, 'Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me.'"
In the Bible, suffering is often portrayed as necessary for salvation because it refines and strengthens a believer's faith, helping them grow spiritually and become more like Christ. Suffering produces perseverance, character, and hope (Romans 5:3-4), and allows believers to identify with Christ, who Himself suffered for humanity's salvation (Romans 8:17, Philippians 3:10). It serves as a form of spiritual discipline, purifying faith like gold refined by fire (1 Peter 1:6-7) and shaping believers into righteous, peaceful people (Hebrews 12:5-11). Ultimately, while suffering is painful, it is seen as temporary, with the promise of eternal glory far outweighing the hardships (Romans 8:18). Through suffering, Christians are prepared for eternal life, participating in Christ’s redemptive work and sharing in His resurrection (Mark 8:34-35, 1 Peter 2:21).
6. The Power of the Faithful
Joseph’s followers are made to believe that their faith is the only thing that will shield them from the coming apocalypse. They are encouraged to take up arms and fight for the cause, often equating their loyalty to Joseph with loyalty to God.
Preaching:
Joseph Seed’s Message: "The faithful will survive; they must stand together against the world and fight for their place in God’s kingdom."
Bible Verse(s):
Ephesians 6:10-11 - “Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.”
Revelation 19:11-16 - “I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and wages war.”
Matthew 10:34 - "Do not think that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I have not come to bring peace, but a sword."
Joseph Seed’s call for his followers to take up arms and fight for the cause, while extreme, can be defended through biblical scriptures that highlight themes of spiritual warfare and loyalty to God. (Ephesians 6:12) emphasizes that the true battle is against spiritual forces of evil, not just physical enemies, suggesting that Joseph’s call to arms could be interpreted as a fight against the moral decay he believes is leading to an apocalyptic judgment. Similarly, (2 Corinthians 10:4) speaks of weapons with divine power, symbolizing a righteous struggle that goes beyond the physical. (Revelation 19:11-16) portrays Christ returning as a warrior, demonstrating that sometimes faith requires standing firm and fighting against evil. Joseph’s insistence on loyalty to his vision as loyalty to God aligns with (Matthew 10:37), where Jesus calls for absolute devotion to Him above all else. While Joseph’s interpretation is harsh, his emphasis on fighting for the cause reflects a deeper biblical principle of spiritual loyalty and the defense of one's faith, even in the face of overwhelming evil.
