So since I watched The Amazing Digital Circus I decided to make an oc. (Saying it like I don't have 200 more ocs from random fandoms/my own stories ,somewhere in my drawer)

BUT! Not new oc. I'm gonna drag my main oc and transform him into idiot who decided to set this headset on his stupid big head.

So everyone this is Rick. Maybe you know him maybe not. But anyways I'll tell you something about him. He is 65 years old Itailan History teacher on hightschool (Somewhere in magical land) and has pretty bad past (he was in military and all that. Maybe mafia too.) And I dragged him into doing this so yes it was not his choice tche che che. Poor him.

Well and this is his TADC character design. I was going for old sewed up goat plushie themed with ciscus strongman. Since Rick is blind on left eye I gave him button there. Stiches are made on places where his reallife military scars are and can be thorn but there is Ragatha or Caine to help so don't worry. And I somehow kept his color palete with few changes.

No he didn't remember his name but what came onto his mind first was Richard just like his real name.( Coincidence? I think not. he is Italian and maybe that name came to him from the back of his mind. You now, like all those old memories from childhood when mom called him Ricko/ Richardo) Caine calls him Goatbeard cause he thinks it suits him better, Jax calls him Goatee and anyone else calls him just Rick or Richard.

Original Character story Starry Obsidian: lore, characters, and ramblings

Lore drop! Lore drop! Lore drop! A post on some of the lore and world building of Starry Obsidian!! I started working on this back in November of last year and I’m so proud I actually got around to finishing this instead of it going into WIP void!!!!!! And I’m so happy with this! This isn’t everything such as the other professors of the Scholar of Stars and how Charlotte another member of the main party fits into all of this. Maybe I’ll get around to that later. Starry Obsidian:

Starry Obsidian is a story about finding yourself. In our main character, Myrvin McGrove's case that's meant literally. The greediness of the Scholars of Stars tears apart Myrvins magic, corrupting the professors and creating pockets of void consuming local towns. It's up to Myrvin and his friends to get his magic back and save the land from a consuming void.

Myrvin is a Star Mage, the last

descendent of an ancient bond between a mortal and the Fae of Stars. In this world only those with a direct connection with the Magic Realm has access to magic. In Myrvins case it's from being half fae and half human.

The Guild of Equinox. Originally founded shortly after day of Void. They're a group of various tradesmen all about teaching people various skills and protecting people from the ever growing Void. They don't believe the Scholar of Stars when they said that a child caused the Voids. But this star mage child is the only lead they have to stopping the void.

While the Scholars are trying to find the star mage to harm Myrvin the Guild wants to find the star mage to protect them from the scholars.

Jax Richard is a swordsman of the main party as well as a member of the Guild of Equinox.

Hes the first one to join Myrvin and acts as the audiences introduction to the Guild.

Scholars of Stars. An institute of scholars who was originally found by an ancient Star Mage to study the cosmos and allow easy access to education. Unfortunately is now run by a greedy headmistress.

This faction controls education and who receives said education: the rich and privileged. This has allowed them to convince the public that the Star Mage (Myrvin) was the one at fault for the voids that's consumed the land. When in reality is was due to their own delving into forces they have no ability to control. This inability to control has stripped Myrvin a majority of his magical abilities but left the headmistress and the other professors as corrupted omens. This faction is to question "what if a greedy academic institution strive for control?”

Originally from the magic realm the Eclipse Wolf has been roaming the mortal realm keeping track of the sun and moon cycle far longer then written human memory.

Has a human form that he used to disguise as a mythology professor at the Scholar of Stars to act as a father figure to the young Myrvin

About 8 years ago 3 of these mini black holes showed up that people started calling The Void. 2 attacked towns that were near by the Scholar of Stars and the last consumed The Forest. No one is certain what happens when you enter but there is this feeling of dread when you're near one. It's unsure what happened, they say that right after the day of the void the Scholars of Stars put a warrant on a 17 year old child stating they are the one at fault. Due to the Scholar of Stars influence almost everyone believes this. Except the Guild of Equinox. The guild finds the framing of a child to be highly suspicious and blames the Scholar of Stars for this disaster. And now both factions are on the look for this 'child' for their own reasons.

Myrvins star magic is separated into 3 types. Summoning via forming constellations to create weapons such as swords and bow n arrows

Evocation via supernova. Myrvin gets a surge of magic creating destruction in his wake.

Lastly transmutation magic via nebulas. Myrvin is able to change his form and items form.

Myrvins supernova magic gets its name for the uncontrolled explosive magic equivalent of a dying star. Due to the amount of power it needs to expel out not just from his hands but from his vulnerable impaired eye as well.

Myrvins transformation magic allows him to change into a fox that he's used in the past as a quick get away.

Lantern Constructs, this is my fun fantasy android people. Their origin is unknown but the most popular belief among the Lanterns is that they are of fae origin. Their design is intricate similar to that of Victorian lamp posts.

One of the characters part of the main party is a lantern construct. Lemy Blixt! Lemy is an older lantern lass who used to own a lemon farm but it recently gets consumed by The Void. She join Myrvin and Jax in their journey to get rid of the The Void so then she can get her farm back. She brings repeated when 'life gives you lemons' quotes and old tales from her prime.

I think its likely some Goofy versus Pluto logic, where there are pet dogs and dog-people.

Anyway I think Goldie is the only one with a designed pet? She has a pet Inchworm named Richard (Richie for short)!! Richie has the mannerisms of a rabbit and will jump around when happy, and stomp on the floor when upset. Smith likes Richard, he's very "dad who spoils the dog he said he didn't want". Mac is very afraid of Richard, and is convinced he wants to crawl into the bite on his head :(

Val and Boba live in an apartment that does not allow pets (Val wants a cat but Boba is allergic, and Boba wants a ferret but cares too much about the animal's well-being to put it in anything but a perfect environment), Red and Mojito are their next door neighbors so same thing for them; Houndstooth IS a dog, Betsy IS a cat, Jax IS a jackalope, Plink IS a vague little animal creature, etc etc

If anything, I think that maybe Cain would have a cute frosted Animal Cracker type creature (can't decide if I want it to be rat sized or horse sized)

And I think Sleepytime would benefit from having a huge scary dog at home (helps with their paranoia).

so raggedy ann and andy were created in the early 20th century, the former sibling coming first with her patent in september 1915. the most popular legend surrounding her creation is that she was based off an old rag doll that belonged to creator johnny gruelle's mother/sister (can't remember exactly), who he then drew a face on and gave to his beloved daughter, marcella, who sadly would pass away months after ann's patent. marcella's inclusion in the raggedy books has been seen by many raggedy historians as johnny working through his grief by immortalizing his daughter's likeness in his stories to remember her in a positive way. andy came around in august 1920 and is said to have been created with johnny's sons, worth and richard, in mind.

the 1977 film is probably where a lot of the younger fans first became interested in raggedy ann (well, that and tadc, and even then gooseworx is a pretty big fan of the film and even specifically based jax's voice on raggedy andy from the film), although the 1986 broadway musical has also been bringing a lot of people in through tumblr and tiktok. the film, despite ultimately flopping at the box office, had the esteemed richard williams at the helm of the animation, even animating the ever so popular "no girl's toy" sequence. of course, richard williams being richard williams, went way overbudget and way past the deadline and ended up being removed from the project just so it could get released. considering the composer of the film, joe raposo, theorized that the film flopping had something to do with the first star wars movie being released around the same time, it's interesting to think about how the raggedy film's fate could've been altered if it had released the year prior for america's bicentennial. the 1986 musical is a whole other can of worms, and im still learning a lot about it from being in the RARE server (which you should definitely check out, wink wink nudge nudge), but to summarize, a combination of a development team constantly at the brink of self-destruction, constant adherence to a family-friendly atmosphere spurred by parental concerns despite the dark themes playwright william gibson intended the story to have, and too much of the budget spent on expensive special effects that nearly killed the actors led to the musical notoriously flopping on broadway and ending its run prematurely never to be seen or heard from again. or so they thought.......

although the 1986 musical is considered a failure in the united states, over in russia, the story has a small cult following amongst childrens and community theatre productions. basically, in 1985, the musical was brought to the USSR as part of a cultural exchange between the two superpowers, and considering that russians had not been familiarized with raggedy ann or her cultural impact up until this point, this led to the rag doll and her friends not being seen as cheap americana, but rather somewhat of a childrens fable (ironic, considering raggedy ann as a character was born from johnny gruelle's stories...). because of this, russian productions of rag dolly (the 1986 musical) are plentiful, with even some very recent productions popping up every now and then. it should be noted that these productions rarely contain the original songs; sometimes the story will just be played straight with no music, while other productions will substitute the lack of musical songs with their own music. this can lead to some..... interesting results lol

i feel it is also important to bring up the various other adaptations of raggedy ann, too! there's the original books, of course, but if you're an animation nerd like me, there's the 1941 fleischer short (which takes some.... interesting creative liberties from the original source material), the two noveltoons shorts, the chuck jones holiday specials from 1978 and 79, the 1980s cartoon (watch at your own risk lol), and the two snowden specials from 1998; one is just a straightforward direct-to-vhs animated special, while the second is a full ice show with animated segments dispersed throughout. you get to see raggedy elvis! who doesnt want to see raggedy elvis?

(i should also probably mention now that some books and adaptations of raggedy ann feature racial stereotypes- i know suddenly its spring has a racial caricature in terms of adaptations specifically- likely due to the culture at the time. these depictions are obviously not right, but sadly when we're talking about a franchise that has been around for over a century, it's kind of unavoidable especially in the older books, so just be aware that those depictions will come up occasionally.)

Main inspirations: Emma (from The Promised Neverland), Anya Forger (Spy × Family), Raggedy Ann (Raggedy Ann and Andy) and my own self.

Jaiden takes more after Ragatha. Just like her mother, she often says and does things she doesn't necessarily mean to ease tensions. She is much more of a peacemaker. Despite it, she occasionally enjoys to participate in her siblings pranks and do silly things.

She loves to be one of the middle children, 'cause she gets to be pampered as a little sister and at the same time gets to be responsible for her little siblings and teach them (like Emma)
