If you want to help the less fortunate, I find it very rewarding to carry baggies of food with me to give out to the homeless. You can fill them with sandwiches, fruit, vegetables, cheese and crackers, trail mix, or anything that travels well in a baggie. I like to carry fruit snacks and Capri suns for the kids, too. I like to give them to the people with signs at the on and off ramps. I give them to anyone who looks like they could use some food. It's easy. It doesn't cost a lot and it makes you and the person with whom you shared your food very happy. I do this all year long. I think it's important to help others, and there are always people with signs on the on and off ramps. No one should ever go hungry, especially during the holidays when they see people buying things and they don't even have food. It's really a great feeling to see these people smile. Some of the most immensely rewarding experiences on earth: putting down your thoughts in words, a brisk walk at dawn, sipping your black minted tea at night, humming a song under the shower. And I've noticed that almost all of it doesn't bring in the necessity of another being to share that experience and is yet wholesome and complete in itself. Thus, a very humble conclusion that for life to be enriching one could even as well fall in love with oneself. Romance doesn't always mean that another being is essential. There are countless experiences which you can even as well enjoy by yourself. But again, with that said, in no way is this a negation of a shared experience with another soul...
