My Arctic Fight Post! It took me a while, but I was finally inspired to do something. And I'm inspired to do a lil written thing underneath as well. It'll be under a read more if anyone wants to take a look at it.

They tell you if you wish on a shooting star, that perhaps one day it might come true. That if you hold it in your heart and keep it close to your chest, not daring to let a soul know, that perhaps it might be real. Some wish for wealth or money, perhaps for something new and shiny. A car or a house. To be happy with oneself. A new pet to keep you company in the dead of night. A child might wish for a dollhouse, perhaps a new action figure of their favorite superhero.

But that's not my wish.

My wish has always been to not be so alone. To wake up and feel as if someone is there. To spend the cold winter nights laughing and talking with someone until our eyelids grow heavy and we can't quite speak anymore as the comfort of sleep pulls us down into a blissfully serene sleep. Sometimes you find things where you least expect it. A seashell within a forest. A fox admiring the ocean as it sits upon the beach. And sometimes it isn't always good. Such as oil within the ocean. Stray shards of glass wedged within the sand. But you can still find beauty in the unfortunate. Such as flowers sprouting out of an old truck, now one with the earth. Grass still growing in the wake of a fire.

Our world can be so very cruel. People can be vile. But despite it all I found you. And it may not be the picture perfect image I'd always imagined of taking. But nothing's perfect. It doesn't have to be.

Getting to sit here with you, staring up at the stars as we take one day at a time, learning more and more as the time slips through our fingers. I couldn't have found anything better. Knowing you feels like a wish come true.
