Prompt 27 - Drought
@wolfstarmicrofic June 27, word count 990
Previous part First part
He’d fallen asleep in Sirius’s arms. When he woke, the others had gone. It was just him and Sirius.
“Hey, sweetheart, how you feeling?” Sirius asked as he stroked his fingers through Remus’s hair. He could have purred. It felt so good. He stretched his limbs, his joints popping. He opened his eyes to see Sirius watching him carefully.
“I’m good, need to stretch my legs though.” They felt a bit stiff after all the chores that morning and his afternoon nap.
“That ties in nicely with what I had planned,” Sirius said mysteriously. Remus’s interest was piqued.
“What do you have planned?” Sirius sat up and pulled Remus up with him.
“Well, I promised you a nature walk to replace the one you’d missed.” Remus jumped out of bed, dragging Sirius with him.
“Yes, please,” He said enthusiastically. Sirius chuckled.
“Alright then, put on your shoes and let’s get going.”
Sirius led him down one of the narrow trails winding through the forest. Sirius bent down and showed him a carpet of white star-shaped flowers with shiny oval leaves. “This is wild garlic. Here smell,” Sirius rubbed the leaf between his fingers and a garlic scent filled the air. “It’s excellent to use for garlic bread, but don’t pick it if it’s flowered, it’s not as nice then,”
They moved through the forest. Sirius pointed out different trees. “That one’s a yew. They used to make longbows out of it. Everything on the tree is incredibly poisonous, but apparently they use it for anti-cancer compounds. Beautiful trees, but yeah maybe don’t lick it,” Sirius threw his head back and laughed as he continued on pointing out a few small flowers hidden around the large ferns on the ground.
They came upon a tinkling stream. Sirius slipped his shoes and socks off and walked into the water. “A few years ago there was a bad drought and this entire stream dried up. The lake was so low we were only allowed to kayak on it. That was the most boring summer we’ve ever had here.” Remus took his own shoes and socks off and let his feet slip into the cool water.
It was bliss, he hadn’t realised how warm he’d gotten. “Come on,” Sirius took his hand and began walking along the stream. They walked in silence, Remus took in everything around him while keeping a close eye on where he placed his feet. The stream was crystal clear, but the bottom was littered with small pebbles and the odd large stone. “Just a bit further and we can rest,” Sirius told him. He had no idea how Sirius had known he was getting tired, but Remus had only just thought about it in his head and Sirius voiced it.
The stream widened suddenly into a small pool. It was a lot deeper and he would have fallen in if Sirius hadn’t thrown out a hand to catch him. “Fancy a swim?”
They quickly stripped to their boxers and Remus followed Sirius into the pool. It was freezing, but Sirius soon took his mind off it. He pulled Remus into his arms and balanced him on his knee. The water swirled around them. Remus swallowed. They’d been close before, but James had always come barging in before anything more could happen. But they were in the middle of the forest, away from everyone. He knew Sirius wouldn’t do more than he was comfortable with, but Remus felt ready to do a little bit more with him.
Their lips met and suddenly Remus wasn’t the least bit cold. Sirius’s fingers trailed up his bare chest, tracing the scars. Remus relaxed into the touch, he didn’t think he’d trust anyone else to do what Sirius was doing. Sirius was the only one to touch his scars. He avoided them himself as much as possible.
Sirius’s hand moved, and his fingers traced the line of his waistband, his eyes asking for permission. He felt a shiver run through him and he leaned back slightly, giving a small nod. He felt incredibly vulnerable but the trust he felt for Sirius outweighed it.
Just then a clattering of breaking branches and thunderous footfalls broke them apart. A figure came hurling towards them surrounded by a swarm of bees. He jumped and plunged into the pool with them, engulfing them in water. They ducked down as the bees dissipated. The person who’d disturbed them bobbed into view from below the surface.
“Hey guys, didn’t realise you were out here.” James beamed at them, pushing his sopping hair out of his eyes.
“Potter! Where have you gone?” Snape called through the trees.
“Over here, Sev, and look who I found,” He shouted back, waving his arms and spraying droplets of water over Remus and Sirius. Snape and Peter came into view.
“Oh,” Snape stopped. “Didn’t realise you’d be.”
“Calm down, Sevy. We’re not naked.” Sirius sighed, exasperated. “What happened to you anyway?” Peter scuffed his boots into the earth.
“It’s my fault,” He said sadly. “I tripped over and grabbed a branch to stop me from falling, but it broke off and bit a branch on the next tree over and upset a beehive. It fell next to James and they started chasing him,”
“Peter, when we get home I’m taking you to a priestess because there is no way you aren’t cursed,” Sirius grumbled. “Now if you don’t mind, Remus and I would like to get dressed, so clear off," Remus snorted with laughter as the others disappeared into the forest laughing about what James had managed to see before he dove into the pool. “Come on, then. The cook told me there was chocolate cake for pudding again and I know how much you love that.” Sirius clambered out of the pool and offered his hand to Remus. Remus hurried him along, there was no way he was missing out on that chocolate cake.

@jegulus-microfic prompt: improve word count: 641 words
warning: moments during and after a nightmare (walburga’s a+ parenting)
inspired by a rosekiller microfic i saw recently. can’t remember the author, but they’re amazing.
He’d been doing so well. So, so well.
The nightmares were going away, slowly. No flashbacks, no seeing something and suddenly being trapped in that house all over again, his mother’s suffocating love and his brother’s screams, no, no, no. Gone. All gone. Well, almost.
He’d been improving. That was the main thing. James always said, that no matter how small it was, a little improvement was always an improvement.
Improve, improve, improve. And here he is now. Eight years old again. In that cursed house. Screams and anger are blending together. His cheeks are wet. Why is he crying? Heirs to the house of Black do not cry. He’s not an heir. He’s not cut out to be an heir.
She’s saying something. She says she loves him, she really does. She wants the best for him.
Is this the best? He wants to ask her that, but he does not say anything. He sits. He listens to screams. Sirius’ screams, maybe his own. He does not know. He is scared. He wants his brother.
She does not like his brother. His brother did something. Something bad. He can feel his brain slowly shutting down, his mind filling with thoughts and emptying simultaneously, and he hates it. He feels like he’s going crazy. Maybe he is.
He wants to scream. He does, he thinks. Very loudly. And she’s angry again, and he’s scared, and he just wants someone to hold, and he thinks—
He gasps.
It’s night. He’s in bed. There’s someone next to him, he can see them sleeping, snoring soundly. The sheets move up with every breath they take.
The next thing he registers is brown hair, and the first thing he thinks is, Oh, James.
But he can’t relax.
He gets up, stumbles to the bathroom. He can’t breathe. He feels trapped, like he’s back at the old house. So he turns on the tap, sets it to the coldest temperature, and runs it through his hands, splashes it on his face. He’s still trapped, still eight, but a little bit safer now. A bit better.
Hands wrap around his waist. A face pressed into his curls. They stay there until he can think again. Until the only reason his hands are shaking is the cold water. He shuts the tap off. Allows James to take him back to bed when he asks. Snuggles in the warmth and brings his knees up to his chest.
James does the same, pressing their noses together, legs knocking, and Regulus drinks in the warmth, the comfort that this man brings him. “Cuddles?” He asks, voice still rough from sleep. Regulus feels guilty for waking him up, but god, the sound of his voice is enough to convince him otherwise.
He nods slightly, still reeling from the nightmare. He takes James’ arm, rolls over, and brings his arm along with him, and James understands. He presses himself onto Regulus, and that’s enough to let him breathe again, nice and slow.
“I was doing so well,” he whispers. James cups his face, staring into his eyes like they’re the whole Milky Way. “I ruined it.”
James shakes his head. “No,” he says, “Improvement is an abstract thing. It happens in weird ways. Ma told me, once, that improvement is also experiencing the thing again, too.” He shifts, slightly, to get a better view of Regulus’ face. “It’s seeing how much you’ve changed in the way you deal with it.”
Regulus closes his eyes. “Je ne te mérite pas,” he says. I don’t deserve you.
“Hm?”
“I love you,” he says.
James smiles, and he wants to put that smile in a bottle and get drunk on it every night. “Me too, Jaan.” Me too, my soul.
He drifts into sleep like that, with his boyfriend.
Improvement, he thinks, is an abstract thing.

James Potter will catch anyone who jumps at him. He’ll drop what he’s doing, drinking tea, reading, writing to catch anyone
His friends find this hilarious, and will randomly jump at him. He carry’s Marlene from DADA to Potions one day. Pandora decides to test the “anyone” and launches herself at him, absolutely delighted when he drops his coffee to catch her
You don’t even have to call his name before you jump or start running, he just does it

Healing - James Potter
Tumblr media
₊‧⁺˖⋆ Masterlist ⋆˖⁺‧₊
Summary: James Potter has made a habit of visiting you in the hospital wing for every one of his "injuries".
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
The hospital wing smelled of clean linens and healing potions, the quiet hum of magic hanging in the air as you tidied the space. You had always been drawn to healing, and your time as Madame Pomfrey’s apprentice had only solidified your desire to make it your career. It was a quiet day, which you didn’t mind; the calm allowed you to focus on your studies.
Then, the doors burst open.
Madame Pomfrey appeared, bustling in alongside a stretcher that levitated James Potter. He looked worse for wear, his jersey rumpled and streaked with dirt, his glasses askew, and a pained expression on his face.
"Another Quidditch injury, of course," Madame Pomfrey sighed as the stretcher lowered onto one of the beds. She turned to you, offering a kind smile. "Y/N, you’ll handle this one. James, meet Y/N, my apprentice. She’ll be taking care of you today."
James, despite his discomfort, managed a grin. "Pleasure to meet you, Healer-in-Training."
You smiled softly, pulling a chair to sit beside him. "The pleasures all mine James. Now, what happened?"
He winced, rubbing the back of his neck. "Got shoved off my broom during the game. Didn’t land quite right. My leg’s killing me."
You nodded, already jotting down notes in your leather-bound notebook. "You probably a pulled muscle when you landed. Let me grab a few things to help with that. Stay put—I’ll be right back."
As you walked to the supply cupboard, you heard a commotion behind you.
"Prongs!"
You turned slightly to see three boys barreling into the room: Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettigrew. All wore matching looks of worry, though Sirius's dramatic flair made him the loudest.
"Are you okay?" Sirius asked, rushing to James’s bedside. "Do you need me to carry you everywhere now? I will, you know."
James groaned, half in pain, half in exasperation. "I’m fine, Pads. It’s just a pulled muscle."
Peter and Remus settled into chairs nearby, though Sirius decided to climb onto the bed, squishing himself beside James.
When you returned, your arms full of salves and potions, you stopped short at the sight of the chaotic group. You’d expected only James, but now there was a whole audience.
Clearing your throat softly, you stepped closer. "Hello, everyone."
The Marauders turned to you, and Sirius gave you an overly enthusiastic wave. "Oh, hello! Are you here to save our James?"
"That’s the idea," you replied, amused. Then you turned your attention to Sirius. "But I’ll need some room to work, so I’m afraid you’ll have to get off the bed."
Sirius pouted dramatically but complied, sliding off and promptly sitting on Remus’s lap instead.
"Really, Padfoot?" Remus muttered, though he didn’t push him off.
"Thank you," you said with a small smile before turning back to James. "Alright, I’m going to apply some salves and potions to help the muscle heal. Let me know if anything feels uncomfortable."
James nodded, watching you with an expression that was equal parts curiosity and appreciation. You worked quickly but gently, your touch steady and practiced.
"That should do it," you said, stepping back and packing up your supplies. "How does it feel?"
James stretched his leg cautiously, a grin spreading across his face. "Loads better already, actually. Thanks, Y/N. You’re a miracle worker."
"Happy to help," you replied, handing him a small jar of salve. "Apply this if it starts to bruise or feel sore again. Do you think you’re okay to walk back to your dorm, or would you like to stay a bit longer?"
"I’ll be fine," James said confidently, already swinging his legs over the side of the bed.
"Take it easy," you warned lightly, your tone soft but firm.
James smiled up at you, his warm hazel eyes meeting yours. "Don’t worry. If anything happens, I’ll come straight back, I wouldn’t mind seeing you again."
Sirius let out a mock gasp. "James Potter, are you flirting with the healer?"
James’s ears turned pink, but he shrugged nonchalantly. "Can’t blame me for appreciating good company."
You chuckled, shaking your head as you moved to tidy up. "Take care, James."
As the Marauders escorted him out, Sirius called back over his shoulder. "You’re always welcome at our dorm, Y/N! Just say the word!"
⋆˖⁺‧₊☽◯☾₊‧⁺˖⋆
It had become a running joke among your fellow students: James Potter’s newfound devotion to the hospital wing. Whether it was a phantom ache, a paper cut, or the slightest shove from Sirius, he was there, demanding your attention. You couldn’t say you minded too much—it was hard not to find his antics endearing.
Today, however, was different.
When James walked in, his usual playful swagger was replaced with something a bit more subdued. A dark purple bruise marred his cheek, and his glasses were slightly askew. You immediately put down the textbook you were studying and stood to greet him.
"James," you said, concern lacing your voice. "What happened?"
He gave you a sheepish grin as he settled onto the nearest bed. "Ran into a bit of trouble with some Slytherins. Just a little scuffle—nothing to worry about."
You frowned, pulling your stool closer to him. "A little scuffle? This bruise says otherwise."
Grabbing a jar of salve, you dipped your fingers into the cool, minty substance and turned back to him. Gently, you cupped his face, tilting it so the light caught the bruise.
James froze, his hazel eyes wide as he looked up at you. For once, he was completely still, not a single cheeky comment slipping from his lips.
"This might sting a little," you murmured, focusing on applying the salve. Your thumb brushed along his cheekbone with practiced care, and James let out a soft sigh, though you weren’t sure if it was from relief or something else entirely.
As you worked, you couldn’t help but notice the way he was looking at you—like you were the only person in the world. It made your heart do an annoying little flip, but you pushed the feeling aside, focusing on the task at hand.
"Is there anything else you need?" you asked softly, your hands still cradling his face.
James hesitated for a moment before his lips curled into a grin, mischief sparkling in his eyes. "Actually, yeah. There is one thing."
You tilted your head, worried there might be another injury. "What is it?"
He leaned just the slightest bit closer, pointing to his cheek, his grin turning playful. "Aren’t you going to kiss it better?"
You blinked, taken aback for a moment, before a laugh escaped your lips. “James Potter, you’re impossible."
"Hey, it might help," he said, his grin widening. "You’re the healer—you’d know best, wouldn’t you?"
Rolling your eyes, you tapped his nose lightly. "I think the salve will do just fine."
He sighed dramatically, sitting back against the bed. "Worth a shot."
You shook your head, trying to suppress a smile as you packed up your supplies. "Let me know if the swelling doesn’t go down in a day or two. And try to stay out of trouble for once."
"No promises," he said, hopping off the bed. Before leaving, he paused by the door, turning back to flash you a boyish grin. "Thanks, Y/N. You’re the best."
As the door closed behind him, you couldn’t help but smile to yourself. James Potter might have been impossible, but he was also undeniably charming.

Baaaaabe 😫
Ive been sick for the last couple days, and as always, that first day was horrible. Ive had my brain legit decide it wants to inflate bigger than my skull capacity (long story short, pregnancy 🫡) and i got to re-experience that feeling for the first 12 hours 💀
BUT i came back and i was sooo excited for your updates!! They were soo good (please tell me theres a part 2 to that angst....pls 🥺) And i love our discussions in the comments 🫶
I do have another request though if you have the time love. Another possessive!wolfstar buuuttt..... make reader Jamie's sister (twins?)!! Its troublesome enough for James to keep Sirius' hands to himself, but full moon Rem?? He's a brick wall. Like somethings happening between the 2 and Jamie is chasing reader, then she spots Rem and hides behind him. James tries to reach for her and Rem is just kinda like "???? Excuse me, thats mine. Dont touch. James Fleamont Potter. DONT. TOUCH." without even knowing whats going on. James is incredulous (because thats HIS sister) and Siri is chuckling but it looks like Rem might actually bite Jamie's hand off so he moves between them to seperate them but Rem is also like "ExCuSe YOU??? Also mine. *to siri* dont touch him. *to James* dont touch them or you might not have all your fingers when you wake up!!"
And just the repercussions of this where James isnt allowed alone with either until a couple days passed the 🌕
Hope youre looking after yourself darling 🩵
I love James' sister trope - something about it screams fluff and perhaps a little angst but just in all the best ways. I would imagine his sister to be so much like him: mischievous, funny, and full of love. Thanks for requesting!!!
poly!wolfstar x potter sister!reader
There were quite a few perks that came along with being James Potter's twin sister. One said perk was having a built-in best friend from the moment you came into the world. Another was that whilst you were attending school, you had the benefit of no one being willing to mess with you on account of the company you kept - namely, your brother and his infamous friends who called themselves The Marauders.
What being James Potter's twin sister couldn't protect you from? James Potter.
What could protect you from being James Potter's twin sister? Being the girlfriend of Sirius Black and Remus Lupin.
You and James were leaving Care of Magical Creatures together, heading to meet up with Remus and Sirius near the Greenhouses when one Lily Evans walked by - graciously bestowing James the time of day for quite possibly the first time ever - when you decided that this was the perfect pranking opportunity.
You really couldn't be blamed for what happened next: it truly was a gift bestowed upon you by the great pranking gods, and who were you to deny it?
"Hello, Potter." Lily said, causing James to gasp dramatically.
"Hello, Lily! Beautiful day out today, innit?"
Lily couldn't help but snicker at the sickeningly wide grin that took over James' face.
"Oi, Jamie. I forgot to tell you: mum sent that rash cream you were asking for. She said to remind you it's only safe to put around your anus, not in it." You proclaimed loudly, pretending to read from a 'letter' your mother had sent.
The courtyard became incredibly quiet before what you recognized to be Barty Crouch Junior's laugh echoed the space, triggering the snickering of all those present.
"You are so dead!" James sneered and you didn't hesitate to take off in a sprint - knowing your brother was a mere few paces behind you.
"You slithering little snake! She finally starts coming around - are you kidding me!?" He shouted as you swerved between bodies standing in your way whilst he just barrelled right through them.
Suddenly, you saw salvation in the form of one Remus John Lupin.
Now, granted, Remus didn't always protect you from your squabbles with James. Part of the reason for that was because half of the time you sort of deserved it (much like today), and the other part was that he claimed he didn't know what proper protocol was in sibling relationships on account of him being an only child. Sirius, a brother himself, had no such qualms and always took your side.
However, you knew that the full moon was in a mere two more sleeps, meaning Remus was at his most protective (read: possessive) which did not distinguish James Potter as friend, sibling, nor pack.
Right now: James Potter was only a threat.
And, let's be honest, being James Potter's twin sister, and a girlfriend to Remus Lupin and Sirius black also meant you were mischievous as hell. So you had no trouble using this to your utmost advantage.
You squeaked in terror as you slid behind Remus' lanky frame a moment before James - the bastard - slammed into his form and all but bounced off of Remus. James was admittedly more muscular than Remus, but Remus' height and werewolf strength left him towering above James as the dumb sod picked himself up off the ground.
"What in the buggering hell is going on?" He spat at James as one of his arms wrapped behind him, shielding you from your fuming brother.
"That sneaky little witch just embarrassed me in front of Lily!" James barked, looking like he was still trying to figure out how to get around Remus in order to strangle you.
"Please," Sirius drawled as he walked over casually, "like you need any help in that department Prongs."
You tried to hide your snicker, but from Remus' glance at you through the corner of his eye, you knew he caught it.
"She told the entire courtyard I needed cream for a rash on my anus!"
Sirius doubled over in laughter and you preened when you noticed Remus let out a soft chuckle himself.
"It's not sodding funny you wanker! Lily spoke to me first today! I'm going to kill you!" James snarled, moving his attention from Sirius to you.
As James stepped forward menacingly, Remus grabbed the collar of his shirt. "Prongs, enough." He barked.
Sirius was still laughing when he moved to stand between Remus and James, releasing James' shirt from Remus' fist.
"Okay, down boy." Sirius snarked, patting James' shoulder consolingly.
"Oh, sod off." James muttered, elbowing Sirius as he moved to step away.
You let out a breath you didn't realize you were holding and tried to even out your breathing; lungs still burning from your run.
"You okay, dove?" Remus asked you so gently as he bent down to make eye contact with you. His face screamed love, attentiveness, and care, making you feel slightly guilty for having shoved him in the middle of your tomfoolery.
"I'm fine, Moons. Sorry for causing trouble." You answered solemnly.
His face picked up slightly at your words as he pressed a kiss to your forehead. "You wouldn't be you if you weren't causing trouble, love."
Your tender moment was interrupted by a yelp, causing the two of you to turn only to notice James and Sirius wrestling. James seemed to have gotten Sirius into a headlock, and the sod wasn't willing to tap out - still kicking and clawing at James in anyway he could.
"Oi!" Remus shouted as he plucked Sirius out of James' grasp and shoved him in the direction of the castle. James used his momentary distraction as an opportunity to set his sights back on you as he lunged, tackling you to the ground.
"Fuckin' hell Jamie! You weight a tonne!" You shouted, kneeing him in the gut. James doubled over and rolled onto his side in the fetal position.
You didn't even get a chance to right yourself before you were thrown over Remus' shoulder who was still shouting at Sirius to "get back to the dorm. The both of you are staying within my sights for the next foreseeable future" as you all left James with the wind knocked out of him, keeled over on the castle grounds.

Summary: James might actually like Slytherins.
Poly!Starchaser x Reader (James Potter x Reader x Regulus Black) | 1.2k words
TW: mentions of Sirius leaving, getting kicked out(?), honestly not a lot I think
✶.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆ ✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆ ✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ˙⋆ ✶⋆.˚꩜ .ᐟ
When James started Hogwarts, he had a certain distaste for Slytherins. Never an outright hate, unlike his best mate, Sirius. But something about the house always put a sour taste in his mouth.
Maybe it was the stories Sirius shared of his family, or the way many of them seem to sneer at him, or maybe it was Severus Snape. He was never really sure. But, nevertheless, the Gryffindor seeker has always seemed to avoid Slytherins.
Until James’ sixth year at Hogwarts. The previous year, Sirius had left Black Manor for good (but if you ask James, Sirius had left closer to third year, the incident in fifth year just made it official).
All the Marauders know the story well, and all the boys know just as well how distressed Sirius was when Regulus didn’t take the chance to leave with him.
The refusal created a rift between the brothers—a big rift. Like the big crack in the earth muggles call grand that James never remembers the name of. And that rift lasted for the entirety of fifth year.
But the summer before their sixth year marked when Sirius couldn't take it anymore. So, the boys' sixth year marked when the Black brothers started mending their relationship.
And also when James became a pathetic mess for Regulus. Lily was the first to find out. Besides the boys, Lily was James' person. Once he finally got over the childhood crush he had on her, they became actual friends.
Regulus is just so…. Regulus. He's pretty, first of all, like, so pretty. James isn’t very poetic, but he reckons one of the romance books Remus has read wouldn’t even begin to describe how beautiful Regulus is. From his well-kept, dark hair to his gray eyes, which at times reminds James of The Fallen Angel by Alexandre Cabanel. The same painting his mother has fawned over to him and his father many times. The poetically tragic painting.
And dear Merlin, he's so smart. James has shared very few classes with the boy, being one year apart makes it hard. But when they shared The Study of Ancient Runes, James became almost certain that he's attracted to people smarter than him, (which he realized greatly limited his dating pool because it can be a bit hard to find people smarter than him (save Remus, Lily, and now Regulus)). Don’t get the seeker started on how good Regulus is at quidditch, he could talk all day.
Honestly, not much changed with this crush when James met you. You had been friends with Regulus (and Crouch and Rosier, but that was irrelevant to James); maybe a little more; he wasn’t sure at the time; the little friend group had always seemed suspiciously close sometimes.
You. Oh Merlin, you. It made a lot of sense, at first glance, how you and Regulus got along. Both of you seem to be able to sit in silence, not needing a conversation every time you hang out, yet still having fun. But at the same time, James had seen you able to joke and have banter with Crouch and give half glares at Sirius when he was trying to borrow -steal- Regulus for a bit.
And finally, after months of talking to (mildly annoying) you too, the lot of you finally started dating. Even though Sirius nearly had a heart attack when he found out, either way, James has found himself walking to the Slytherins table before his own more often, and has found himself ducking from Crouch throwing potatoes at him even more regularly. James has also found himself sneaking into the Slytherin common rooms when he isn’t planning a prank. Like right now.
It's not exactly necessary to sneak into a common room. The way to get into most common rooms stays the same. Ravenclaws answer a riddle; Gryffindors have a password that changes semi-regularly; Hufflepuffs have changed a few times over the past few years, but right now you have to tap a barrel located in the kitchen space near the Hufflepuffs door. But, as it seems, the Slytherins seem to change more regularly.
Rarely just a simple password nor a rhyme or riddle. Though James likely doesn’t deserve the right to be annoyed by the constant changing because the Marauders pranks are often the reason for a change. And it's not like the boys exactly need a password to get in. Not when you have learned almost all of the secret passageways through the castle and can sneak in through one of them.
James finds a way down to the dungeons, with or without any password or trick, and makes his way to Regulus' dorm. When he gets there, he's presented with a loving, beautiful, and perfect view.
The dorm is free of Regulus’ dormmates, Crouch and Rosier, the only people who lay claim are you and Regulus. There you two lay, your head on his stomach, arms wrapped around his waist as your body lays between his legs, any closer and you'd be under his skin.
Regulus is lying back on his pillows, jumper far too red to belong to him. As one hand rests on the top of your head, the other lies abandoned. It’s clear both of you had been reading at some point; books lay abandoned nearby on the bed.
James could scream, squeal even, but instead he silently closes the door and locks it (the only people that would really need it are people with a key (Crouch, Rosier) or people who don't believe in locks (Sirius, and honestly, probably also Crouch and Rosier)).
James slips off his shoes near the bed, climbing onto the bed with the two of you.
“Love?” He whispers in your ear, brushing your hair away from your face as he gently rubs your shoulder.
You shift, barely coherent, as you open your eyes the smallest amount to look at who woke you. They soften a tremendous amount when you register that James is in front of you.
“Hi, baby,” Salazar, his smile is so bright, he could make the Black Lake change its name with just a curl of the lips. “Your arms are gonna cramp if you don't move.”
James slowly draws your arms from under your shared boyfriend for you, limp like a liquid cat in his arms, and he somehow finds it the most endearing thing in the wizarding world.
The movement makes Regulus come to consciousness, opening his eyes much quicker than you did and already more alert than you. “Chéri?”
“Hello, love.” James drags your liquid body to the side of Regulus, instead of on him, and kisses his boyfriend's temple. Freeing a hand to smooth out his hair and stop him from getting up. “Go back to your nap, just moving you guys a bit so neither of you hurt.”
You are quick to go back to wrapping your arms around Regulus, now in a slightly less straining position, ready to go back to dreaming. James' smile might just grow impossibly founder.
James goes to the other side of Regulus, leaving you to cling to his left as James takes his right. “'S ‘kay to go back to sleeping.”
“I know.”
You reach one of your hands blindly and grab James’ arm, resting it there as the three of you drift back to a lovely sleep.
Maybe James has a taste for a type of Slytherin after all.

James is ecstatic when you gain weight
james potter x gn!reader | fluff | 317 words cw: mentions of weight, scales, implied ed a/n: based off of this short!
James is making his pre-workout smoothie when he realizes you’ve been in the bathroom for quite a while. That’d be okay, except now he’s sure he can hear you stepping on and off the scale. It worries him. “Lovie? You alright?”
He's glad to see you’re grinning when you open the door. You’re bouncing up and down, biting your lip, so excited you’re about to burst- it’s adorable but the silence is driving him mad. “What’s got you so happy, huh?”
Your energy escapes as a burst of laughter as you come barreling towards him, and James is prepared when you leap into his arms- he always is- twirling you above his head before hugging you to his chest. You’re giggling like mad, so he’s giggling like mad; his arms go weak and he thinks he might drop you. Suddenly, you stop laughing and cup his cheeks. James opens his eyes and gets a good look at your face- entirely alight- and grins even harder. “Jamie! I gained weight!”
“Aw, lovie!” James twirls you in the air again, giving you a little toss this time. “Oh, my love, I’m so proud of you!”
Your eyes are shining. “Can you tell?”
“Oof-” James loosens his grip, and you squeal while clutching him all the more closer. “Oh, you’re so heavy now; I don’t think I can hold you.” He falls to his hands and knees so you’re hanging just above the floor. You give a little shriek before falling, and James hovers over you, giggling all the while. Again, your hands find his face.
“It’s because you’re such a good cook, Jamie.”
He lowers to kiss your nose. “Must be.”
“Which is why you should cook dinner tonight.”
James hoists you back up with an exaggerated oomph. He rubs your thighs affectionately. “I would, sweetheart, but I just can’t get over the taste of your burnt eggs.”

could i request james potter x reader where james discovers reader’s small “j.f.p.” tattoo on her hip and he’s like !!! obsessed :D<3 ofc only if u feel like writing it love u 🦌
this is such a cute ideaaa !! ty for the request my darling, I hope you’re well! (wc: 860) (cw: non-sexual nudity)
You’d gotten it while James was away on a trip with friends. Not exactly a whim-of-the-moment thing, but neither was it entirely planned. You knew you wanted him on you somewhere, sometime, and then Marlene asked you to accompany her for a septum piercing…
The rest fell into place. There was a small postcard in your pocket that you’d pulled from your mailbox, with James’ scratchy handwriting detailing his excursions and how much he missed you. At the bottom, he’d signed his initials, and that was what you gave the artist for reference.
There was a week of marveling at it afterwards, tracing over it with your fingertips every time your shirt lifted and wondering what James would say. If he had come home a couple days earlier, you might’ve gone with your heart and shown him right away, but he didn’t.
So when James barreled through the door of your shared apartment, towing bags and gifts, you stayed silent.
The two of you had dinner, sat down for a movie that you didn’t watch. James described the whole trip and rubbed your feet and told you he missed you. You knew you couldn’t keep the tattoo a secret, but you couldn’t will yourself to bring it up, either.
Later in the night, when only your bedroom lamps were on anymore, James came back from the shower in a skimpy towel wrap.
“Babylove, I don’t think getting dressed is in the cards for me tonight.”
You were laying on the bed, one arm under your smooshed face and the other hanging limp over the side.
James went to the dresser, smiling at your drowsy eyes and kicking feet. You murmured something like ‘good’ before he dropped his towel.
“Yeah, good,” he teased, tugging a pair of boxers on.“‘Cept I think we oughtta even the playing field here.”
Curiously, you flipped onto your back to see James better. He was in the middle of crawling onto the bed, hands and knees on each side of your legs.
“What are we evening?”
At your waist, James smiled up at you, hands leaving the bed to sweep under your night shirt.
“Oh,” you breathed, and then lifted your arms and allowed him to tug it off. You glanced furtively to the waistband of your sleep shorts, catching the sliver of ink peeking out of the top before James’ hands were there.
“Y’okay bird?”
Looking up, you met James’ careful eyes, nodding your express approval. His lips twisted, and then his needling fingers retreated from your shorts to soothe up your waist.
“Yeah? Sure?” he asked, and you put your hands in his hair to reassure him, somewhat pressed for words. “So quiet.”
“Sorry,” you managed, hands venturing over his shoulders. “Just missed you.”
You felt the truth of that curling in your belly, and James must’ve seen it on your face. Smiling wide, he swooped in to plant a sloppy kiss on your cheek. “You too.”
A second kiss on the opposite cheek, and then he was back to business undressing you.
You sucked a breath in as the elastic pulled and slid down your hips, and the whole mass of scribbles caught light. James’ eyes were on your face, your hair all fanned out, but when he sat back to toss the shorts they traveled south and—
He froze. You can’t say for how long, but it felt an eternity, your breath held tight in your chest. When your body caught up with itself and exhaled, James’ name tumbled out with it, questioning and nervous.
His eyes flicked up to you for less than a second, a sliver of acknowledgment before he’d glued his eyes on the tattoo again. Something was swimming behind his expression, and you couldn’t gauge if it was bad or good.
“Jamie,” you said again, squirming, “please say something.”
With one finger, James traced the loops and turns of his own handwriting on your skin, swallowing dryly.
“Baby,” he finally spoke, a cloying ache in his voice. “Baby.”
Finally catching your gaze again, James just gawked at you with the awe of ten men. He was touching you, absently, reverently, which you figured was a good sign.
Not quite knowing what to say, you let him work out his thoughts, staying very still.
“This is real?” You nodded, and James’ lashes fanned over his cheeks as he gave it yet another look. Then, with a spoonful of disbelief he asked, “When?”
Hips shifting a bit under him, you said, “while you were away. It’s from your letter.”
“I know what it’s from,” James assured you. “I just can’t believe…”
You propped yourself up on your elbows, beckoning James’ attention.
“If you don’t like it, Jamie, I really want you to tell me. I won’t be offended.”
James shook his head ardently.
“I really love it, bird. Really truly. I just can’t fathom how lovely you are.”
You couldn’t stop yourself from cheesing, and James’ lips curled up too, a mirror of yours.
“Though,” he said, finally settling himself on top of you, “if I’d known that’s where my signature was going, I’d have signed my full name.”

Bag - Jegulus - @stag-microfic - Day 19 - 1,009 words
Regulus stands near the entrance of the student union, staring down at his phone as his thumbs dances across the screen with rapid precision. Barty has been blowing up his phone for the past five minutes with increasingly ridiculous messages, ranging from “r u dead or smth??” to “im dying of boredom in this hellhole.”
“Get a grip,” Regulus mutters under his breath as another notification from Barty pinged onto the screen. He responds quickly, reassuring his impatient friend that he’d be there soon, though Barty’s dramatics were beginning to grate on his nerves. He can practically picture Barty slouched over a table in the library, drumming his fingers in exaggerated impatience while Evan probably sat quietly, ignoring his antics.
Just as he finishes typing, a voice rings out sharply through the busy hallway: “Look out!”
Regulus barely has time to lift his head before a figure comes barreling toward him like a freight train. His eyes widen, and for a split second, everything seems to slow down. But there is no stopping the inevitable. The next moment, the person’s solid frame collides with his, and the impact sends Regulus sprawling backward onto the cool tiles. His phone slips from his fingers, clattering onto the floor beside him.
A sharp ache radiates through his lower back and elbows from the fall, and Regulus grimaces, his palms pressing against the ground for support as he momentarily lays there, dazed. There is a murmur of concerned voices around him, the hallway bustling with students between classes, but Regulus ignores them as he mentally assessed the damage. It isn’t until he gathers himself to stand with his phone in his hand that he notices something was missing.
His tote bag.
The realization hits him like a second wave of panic. His black tote bag, the one that carries his laptop, books, and—most importantly—his latest assignment, is no longer slung over his shoulder. Regulus’ gaze darts around frantically as he scans the ground around him. A wave of frustration surges in his chest. Of course, he thinks bitterly. Just my luck.
As if this day can’t get any worse, a figure steps into his line of sight, holding the missing tote bag in one hand. Regulus’ eyes flickers up, ready to snarl, but the words catch in his throat. Standing there, with an awkward, sheepish smile, is none other than James Potter, the university’s star rugby player and, unfortunately for Regulus, his brother Sirius’ obnoxiously loud best friend. His presence is both a blessing and a curse—at least he has retrieved the bag, but now Regulus had to deal with him.
James’ smile is lopsided, his hand moving to rub the back of his neck in a nervous gesture. “Sorry about that,” he says, his voice warm and slightly breathless. “I—well, we—” He gestures over his shoulder, and Regulus notices the group of people standing a few feet away: Remus Lupin, Peter Pettigrew, and Sirius himself, all of them looking somewhat amused by the situation. Sirius has his arms crossed, a grin playing at his lips as if this were all part of some grand joke.
Regulus scowls, his irritation flaring up again as he snatches his bag from James’ hand. “Yeah, whatever,” he mutters tersely, his sharp gaze darting away from James and back toward his bag as he checks for damage.
James, however, doesn’t seem put off by the attitude. If anything, his grin widens, his hazel eyes twinkling with a mixture of amusement and curiosity. “I’m James, by the way,” he says, as if Regulus hasn’t just dismissed him.
“I know who you are,” Regulus snaps, slinging his bag back over his shoulder. He adjusts the strap with a little more force than necessary and begins walking toward the library, trying to put as much distance between himself and Potter as possible.
But James isn’t easily deterred. He falls into step beside Regulus effortlessly, his grin now teasing. “Oh, so you’ve heard of me?”
Regulus shoots him an irritated glance. “The whole school knows who you are,” he retorts, wishing Potter would take the hint and leave him alone.
James raises his eyebrows, his smirk growing more playful. “Yeah, but this is different.”
Regulus stops mid-step, turning to face James with a raised brow. “How?”
James takes a step closer, his voice dropping slightly as he answers, “Because you’re you.”
Regulus blinks, completely thrown by the response. His brain scrambles to process the sudden shift in tone, but the confusion only deepens his frustration. “Yeah, that makes no fucking sense,” he finally says, shaking his head as he turns on his heel and resumes his walk to the library.
James laughs lightly, easily falling back into step beside him. “Where are you headed?” he asks, his tone friendly, like they are just two mates chatting after class.
“Away from you,” Regulus mutters, keeping his eyes fixed ahead.
“Aw, now why would you say that, love?” James’ tone is lighthearted, but the endearment makes Regulus’ stomach flip involuntarily. He clenches his jaw, fighting the urge to snap back.
Before he can respond, Sirius’ voice rings out from behind them. “Oi, Prongs! Stop flirting with my brother and get back here!”
Regulus and James both turn to see Sirius standing with his hands cupped around his mouth, Remus and Peter standing nearby with amused expressions. James chuckles, giving a playful salute in response. “Right, right. I’m coming.”
He looks back at Regulus, his grin still annoyingly charming. “See you around, Reg,” he said, his voice low and warm, and before Regulus can come up with a retort, James winks at him and jogs back to his group of friends.
Regulus stands frozen for a moment, his heart thudding annoyingly in his chest. His cheeks flushes, much to his dismay, and he scowls at the floor as he hurries the rest of the way to the library. No matter how hard he tries, though, he can’t shake the lingering warmth from James’ attention—or the fluttering in his stomach that just won’t go away.

Not one of you knows how you got into this situation. With strangers, this probably would have been easier. Won’t have to deal with the consequences that way. But now, Remus, Sirius, James and you are all sitting on the floor with a bottle of fire whiskey in the middle, playing poker. strip poker.
You were probably the one with the best odds in the game. Your brother had taught you, but at a young age, you were never very good at it. You have gotten better while you grew older, your fate sometimes resting on your poker face after starting to hang out with the pranksters that the marauders are.
Remus was the second-best player in the group. He was good, very good, but he had a tell. Sirius figured it out before he even played against him, his tell shining through even when he wasn't playing. You figured it out in your first game against him.
Sirius came next. He had learned from his father, who thought it important for his son to learn when he was only eleven. It is probably unnecessary to say they didn't have the best relationship.
James’ poker skills were close to Sirius’, but his poker face wasn't as good as his. He learned to play in his 4th year at Hogwarts. He had snuck into a Slytherin party with Remus and Sirius. But after they had been gone for quite longer than it took to ‘find something to drink’ he guessed that wasn't what they were up to anymore, and found the game a few of the older years were playing to occupy himself.
But somehow, Remus was winning. He had only won from you twice. Once when you were distracted, your head not being in the game. Once when you had drank a tad too much dragon barrel brandy. Remus knew he couldn't win from you when you were trying. So he knew you weren't.
The only reason Remus hadn't lost yet was because he started with a lot of layers. You started in a dress and had already taken off your cardigan, making a show of it. Remus was still almost fully clothed, having taken off his jumper when he lost against you, but having been wearing a shirt underneath. Sirius started out in his standard attire and had lost both his signature leather jacket and his shirt underneath.
Remus won again, and it started to bother him. He knew he wasn't cheating, but it wasn't right either. He was the type of guy who wanted to win fairly and started to itch when he didn't.
James lost, but didn't seem to mind. Before he could take off another piece of clothing, you leaned over the stack of cards that was between you. Your face didn't show much of what you were planning, but before he could wonder all too much, you slowly started to take off the tie of the uniform he had been wearing, not accidentally giving him a front-row seat to the view of your chest while you were leaning over. He decided that this was one of the few times he really didn't mind losing.
When you were finished, you loosely fastened his tie around your own neck, letting it fall over the v-line of your dress. Knowing your company, you knew normally one of them would argue that this was against the rules of the game, but given the amount of alcohol consumed and the number of longing glances exchanged, you knew you were no longer playing very strictly.
A little further along in the game, both Sirius and James barely had any clothes left to remove, and while they didn't seem to mind it, Remus started to get increasingly nervous when Sirius would have to strip another article of clothing.
By now, Remus still had his trousers and shirt on. You were left in only your dress, having taken off your stockings when you lost a little while back.
The next round was dealt, and while you were playing, it slowly started to become unmistakably obvious you were trying to lose. While there was a small attempt from one of them not to make you end at the bottom, keeping someone from not losing proved harder than keeping someone from winning. When the round was over and there was no doubt you had lost, you switched your gaze from the cards in front of you, to James, your face seeming innocent but your eyes were playing an entirely different game.
“Would you mind unzipping me?” You ask with the purest voice James had heard from you all evening. You turned around and sat on your knees with your back against him. Carefully he put your hair over one of your shoulders, a shaky sigh leaving his lips in the process. He had seen you naked more than enough times, but drunken strip poker with your two best friends was another thing entirely.
Slowly he moved the zipper down your back, and apart from the sound of the fabric moving, the room was quiet as could be, not helping to relieve any of his tension. When the zipper started to reach your lower back, James realized you weren't wearing a strapless bra as he had originally assumed. Not wearing one was something that happened more often than not when you wore a tight dress like this, the thought of this had however not passed his mind until the moment his hand passed over the bare skin of your back. Once the zipper had reached its end, when you stood back up, you patiently started to move the material down your body. While doing so, you did not seem to notice the awkward energy radiating off Remus, who was currently looking anywhere besides the show you were putting on for James.
Until James couldn't take it any longer
The moment the dress dropped from your figure to the floor, not one single person in the room had a similar reaction. Remus was looking down at his feet, suddenly fascinated by the pattern of the floorboards. Sirius didn't have much of a reaction at all, he had seen you naked before and was currently focused on how entertainingly flustered James looked. James seemed to jump into protective mode right after, either that or he was trying to distract himself from the tightness that was growing in his trousers while in the presence of your friends. He grabbed his jacket from the floor while he sprang up, and hastily put it on you. But that did not seem like enough for him just yet. He bent down a little and placed one of his arms under your knees and the other around your back, and lifted you from the floor. At James’ sudden move, you made a sound that seemed to represent both surprise and excitement.
“That's it, we're leaving” James stated, walking towards the door with you without awaiting a reaction from either of your friends. When the door shut behind him, Sirius and Remus were left alone, both looking at each other, uncertain what to do next, because you might have left the room, but the tension didn't leave with you.

Congratulations: You Like James Potter
James Potter x fem!reader
Word count: 4k
CW: Idiots in love, kissing, unbearable fluff
Summary: Clothes are a game changer when it comes to feelings. Who would've thought?
A/n: Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are having a lovely week. Currently I am in the midst of finals week, so I am stressing! That's why I pulled this out of my drive instead of writing something new. I hope you enjoy my loves :)
Tumblr media
The cold stone of the dorm seeps through your socks as you pace back and forth across the width of the room. Although you love Hogwarts, winters are never kind inside a large castle with no insulation.
Usually when this happens, you go roast in front of the fire or take a long, hot shower. However, seeing that you have plans to go to the Gryffindor vs. Slytherin game in ten minutes with Lily, Dorcas, Remus, and Peter, those options are out of the question. You go and stand in front of your chest again, looking at the various sweaters and sweatshirts packed for the colder weather. Despite having so many options, none look warm enough, or let’s be honest, cute enough, to wear to the game today. As you stare at your trunk with a sigh, you hear the door to your room open behind you.
“Are you almost ready to go?” You hear Lily ask.
You turn to her with a glum look on your face, “Not yet. I don’t know what to wear!”
She comes to stand beside you, “Babe, wear one of the many sweatshirts you have sitting in your trunk.”
“But none of them feel right!” You whine.
“Then take something from one of our trunks,” she suggests.
“I already looked.” You say, collapsing onto my bed.
“Well you better figure it out in the next five minutes. If not, we’re leaving without you.”
“I know, I know. I promise I’ll make a decision.”
You hear her leave the room as the door thuds behind her.
As you lay on your soft bed, engulfed by your comforter, you wish you could just wear it outside to the pitch. Dreaming about such a reality where that could actually happen, you realize that although you can’t carry your comforter around, you can think of something that is likely just as comfortable. One of Remus’ sweaters. You throw your shoes on and barrel down the stairs into the common area. You see your friends waiting for you.
“Are you finally ready?” Lily asks again.
“No, but go on without me. I finally figured out what I want to wear but I’ll meet you guys there,” you reply.
“Okay, we’ll save you a seat,” She says.
Once they’re out of the room, you take two steps at a time up to Remus’ room that he shares with Sirius, James, and Peter. You walk to the far right corner where his stuff is and open the trunk. The angels seem to sing from above as you feast your eyes upon the millions of big, wooly sweaters sitting before you. You see a nice brown one, something that will go perfectly with your blue jeans, and pull it on. You are instantly engulfed by the warmness and sigh with relief. You go and stand in front of the full length mirror against the wall. As you check your appearance and smooth out your hair, you see a flash of red out of the corner of your eye. The flash of red turns out to be none other than one of James Potter’s many quidditch jumpers. Slightly curious, you take the sweater off and put on the sweatshirt. You are pleasantly surprised to find that it is somehow even more comfortable than Moony’s sweater. Plus, it’s perfect to wear to the quidditch game. You go to stand in front of the mirror again and are taken aback slightly by how nicely the red pops against your skin. Satisfied with your appearance, and also feeling incredibly cozy, you rush down to the quidditch pitch, a few minutes before the game starts. You find Lily, Dorcas, Remus, and Peter in the crowd.
“Hey,” you huff, as you sit down next to Remus.
“Hey, see you finally found something to wear,” he replies.
“Only took her a million years,” Peter teases.
“Yeah, yeah. Fuck off,” you retort, swatting him on the back of the head.
“Hey, I thought you didn’t want to wear any of our stuff?” Lily asks.
“I’m not?” you answer, confused.
“But isn’t that Marlene’s sweatshirt?”
“No, that’s what I’m wearing” Dorcas says, unzipping her black winter coat to reveal her girlfriend’s hoodie.
“Then whose is that?” Lily questions.
Before you can answer, the crowd starts cheering as both teams walk out onto the pitch. Madam Hooch’s voice bellows outward as she asks the captains to shake hands. From the Gryffindor team, James steps forward, and from Slytherin, Lucius Malfoy. The two shake hands then return to their respective teams. They kick off from the ground as the quaffle is thrown into the air and the game begins. Although you’ve seen plenty of quidditch games in your time at Hogwarts, you never cease to be amazed at the agility with which James and Marlene are able to move on their brooms and toss the quaffle between them. Likewise, you are always impressed by Sirius’ strength as a beater and his ability to aim the bludgers at other players perfectly. Within minutes, Gryffindor is winning thirty to ten. The lion’s side of the stadium is screaming as James speeds down the field, heading towards the goal posts yet again. With a quick throw, he tosses the ball through the far left hoop, scoring the team another ten points. We all cheer loudly. He looks to our section and winks, blowing a kiss to his fans. From behind you hear a few sighs and giggles. You turn to see three girls in your year, two from Ravenclaw and one from Hufflepuff, swooning over James’ flirtations. You slightly roll your eyes and huff fondly at James’ fan club.
Your staring must not have been too discreet because a few moments later, you hear loud whispers from behind.
“And why is she wearing his sweatshirt?”
“They’re not dating are they?”
“They better not, James is mine.”
“Anyways, he could do so much better than her.”
“Yeah, she’s so ugly.”
Confused as to how they know you’re wearing James’ hoodie, you pull on the sleeve, shifting it so you can look at the back. In big, gold letters you see the word “Potter” printed across.
You simply sigh before getting up and moving down next to Lily on the other end.
Just as soon as you get settled, Lily turns and says to me, “Wait, turn around. Why are you wearing Potter’s sweatshirt?”
“Merlin, does everyone have a problem with it?” you ask loudly.
Dorcas, Peter, and Remus all look your way in slight surprise.
“No, sorry. I was just wondering.” Lily answers softly.
Dorcas grabs my hand, “hey, are you okay?”
“Yeah m’fine. It’s just that those three girls,” you point to them, “are bitching about the fact that I’m wearing James’ jersey. Apparently, he’s their man, so how dare I.”
“Just ignore them,” Peter tells me. “They’re just jealous that-”
He suddenly stops, a slightly horrified look on his face.
“Jealous about what?” you implore.
“That they’re not as cool as you!” Remus interjects.
Curious as to what Peter was going to say, but too tired to bother to ask more you simply scoff, “Right, thanks guys.”
“You know what, the cold be damned, since they’re giving you shit for wearing Potter’s hoodie, I’m gonna show mine off too.” Dorcas announces. She unzips her black jacket and sets it beside her. The bright red hoodie she has on is identical to the one I’m wearing except it says “McKinnon” in big gold letters across the back.
“Me too” Remus proudly declares, pulling off his sweater to reveal another bright red hoodie, with the word “Black” on it.
“But since you are both dating Sirius and Marlene, won’t it make it seem more likely that I’m dating James?” you ask.
“Is that so bad?” Lily says to me.
You’re about to declare that yes, that is in fact bad, when it dawns on you, “N-no…  I guess not.”
You turn back to the game, slightly in a daze, unaware of the pointed looks shared amongst your friends.
*****
About an hour later, the game is uncomfortably close with the score being Gryffindor: one hundred and Slytherin: ninety. As you watch Marlene dart towards the hoops you hear shouts that the seekers have caught sight of the snitch. It’s a close race as flashes of green and red blur by. We cheer loudly, urging on our team. Within a minute the snitch is caught by Gryffindor. We erupt loudly, celebrating our victory. You watch as the teams land on the ground. More specifically, you watch as James jumps off his broom and runs towards his teammates. You watch the way his black hair shines against the bright sun, how his cheeks are rosy from the cold but also from the rush of winning, how even through his sweater, you can see the definition of his muscles as he lifts the seeker into the air. You begin to realize that maybe the reason you didn’t find it so bad that people thought you were James’ girlfriend was because…
Merlin. You have feelings for James.
The world seems to go quiet for a moment, and there’s a sort of ringing in your ears, at the realization.
“Hey! Are you coming?” Lily asks.
You look up from your spot to see that Remus, Dorcas and Peter have disappeared down into the crowd surrounding the team and that Lily is near the edge of the bleachers, waiting to go join them.
You shake your head, “Yeah, sorry.”
You get up and follow behind her, feeling a little queasy at the thought of seeing James up close.
The crowd is wild as people scream congratulations at the team and hug their friends. In the middle you see James, Sirius and Marlene beaming as they eat up the attention. Marlene has her arm around Dorcas’ waist, unafraid to show off the girl she loves. Though Sirius is a loud person, he is a quiet lover and merely grips Remus’ hand beneath his sweatshirt while he talks to others.
Lily grabs your hand and drags you towards the rest of your friends, “come on, you really are slow today.”
“W-wait Lily, no I,” but before you can resist, you’ve approached the rest of the group. Too afraid to face James first you turn and engulf Sirius in a hug, “nice work today Black! I just love to see Slytherin eat shit.”
Sirius gives you a huge grin, “what can I say, it’s one of my favorite pastimes.”
You then turn to Marlene and squeal, “Marls! You killed it out there. You and James were just so fast, I don’t know how you do it!”
“Natural talent” she brags.
You laugh and begin to turn away when you bump right into someone’s chest. They grab your shoulders, “woah there, careful.”
You look up to see James towering above you.
“Hey, Potter” you say, your voice softening.
“Hey, darling. Enjoy the game?” He asks, a small smile on his face.
His smile, it makes your heart melt. And the term of endearment, one he has always used, suddenly makes you flustered. You can feel the heat rushing to your cheeks. You look down at the turf to avoid his noticing and dig your shoe into the ground, “yeah, it was great! You guys did great!”
To your relief, the crowd starts to disperse and the team starts to walk towards the locker rooms.
“Well, uh, see you in a bit. At the party sometime I suppose.” You tell him, before walking off towards the castle.
“Yeah, see ya.” He says quietly.
You only make it a few steps before you hear him call your name. Your heart beats a little faster as you turn back towards him, “Is that my sweatshirt?”
You cringe inwardly as you walk back towards him, “Oh, yeah, sorry. I should’ve asked. I was just cold and nothing in my closet looked appealing. I’ll go put it right back when I get back to the tower.”
“No, don’t. It looks good on you.” He answers.
You feel butterflies in your stomach, “oh, okay. Thanks. And really, nice job today.”
You turn back around and run to catch up to your friends.
*****
When we get back to the castle you immediately go up to your room and collapse onto your bed. All of these new emotions leave you feeling confused, nervous, and exhausted. You decide that maybe you shouldn’t go to the party and should instead just sleep away your racing thoughts…. Suddenly, you feel two plops down next to you onto your bed.
“What are you guys doing?” You mumble.
“We’ll explain when Marlene gets back.” Dorcas responds.
Not even a few minutes later, the door opens and Marlene comes in, throwing herself on the bed.
“Right, I’m here,” she says, out of breath.
“Did you run here?” Lily asks.
“Of course! We have very important business to attend to.”
“We told you to be discreet!” Dorcas scolds.
“I just told James it was a fashion emergency!” Marlene protests.
You lift your head up to look at your three roommates, “what are you lot talking about?”
They share a look amongst each other and suddenly sit up very seriously.
Lily pulls you up into a sitting position as well.
“Shall I start?” Marlene questions.
The two nod their heads, “Right. Well, congratulations, you have feelings for James Potter!”
Your heart drops, “What? No I don’t. What are you talking about?”
“Ah yes, denial,” Dorcas says smartly.
“We were expecting this,” Lily adds.
“I’m sorry, you were expecting this?”
“Yes. It’s been very clear to all of us that you have feelings for James. We just didn’t know how long it would take you to realize. It seems today is the day.”
“B-but, how? I’ve never once thought about James as anything besides my friend until now.”
“She admits it!” Marlene cheers.
Dorcas glares at her slightly, “It’s okay, love. Sometimes we can’t see what’s right in front of us. That’s what happened to me with Marlene, remember?”
You think back to how the two used to interact before they were dating. They were always close and very touchy. You often caught Marlene looking longingly after Dorcas and remember Dorcas always being jealous of Marlene’s other girlfriends.
“But you two were so obvious!” You proclaim.
“So are you and James,” Lily tells me kindly.
“Does that mean he knows?” You nearly shriek.
Marlene takes your hand lovingly, “No, of course not. James is a lot of things, but observant is not one of them.”
You let out a sigh of relief. But then a wave of panic brushes over you, “What am I supposed to do? I can’t even act normal around him now that I know. I just feel all sweaty and nervous!”
“Just be yourself. He already likes you for you.” Dorcas says warmly.
“How can you be so sure?”
“Honey, when have you ever known James Potter to be subtle about anything? He’s always trying to do everything to get your attention. You just aren’t always paying attention.”
You huff and fall back onto your bed, “Merlin, I hate feelings. I wish things could just go back to the way things were.”
Lily grabs your arm and pulls you back up, “well, seeing as things can’t, let’s make the most of it.”
You give her a questioning look.
“The reason Marlene rushed back up here so fast is because we knew you would need all three of us helping you once you realized your feelings.”
“Yeah, no offense, you’re a bit hopeless when it comes to dating.” Marlene says bluntly.
You smack her arm, “that’s not helpful.”
“Everything will be fine” Dorcas tells you, “now let’s get you dressed for the party. You have a certain Mr. Potter to impress.”
*****
An hour later, the four of you are dressed and ready to go. Your friends have put quite the ensemble together, dressing you in a red, cropped sweater with a pair of dark blue mom jeans that supposedly “make your ass look amazing” (according to Marlene) and gold jewelry. After you told them that James said you looked good in his sweatshirt, they decided that your outfit needed to remind him of it (hence the gold and red). Lily is wearing an adorable green sweater dress with brown boots and her hair is pulled back with a clip. Marlene has on black leather pants and a long sleeve, pink, sheer shirt with only her nipples covered. Dorcas is wearing a blue crop top with an open back, black jeans, and combat boots.
“Guys, we look hot.” Lily announces.
“Hell yeah we do,” Marlene agrees.
“I’m sure Mary will love it,” Dorcas teases.
Lily blushes a bright scarlett, “you really think?”
“Absolutely. You look killer, babe.” You tell her.
“You too, Mrs. Potter,” she says, winking.
You roll your eyes at her before taking a deep breath and staring in the mirror one last time, “right, let’s get this over with.”
“Oh yes, let’s get through this terrible party.” Marlene jokes.
We walk down into the common room where music is blaring and people are spread about talking, laughing, and dancing. As we weave through the crowd of people, Dorcas and Marlene are pulled into a conversation with a Ravenclaw friend from potions class. Lily soon leaves you too, after checking that you are okay, to go and flirt with Mary.
Trying to calm your nerves, you grab a bottle of firewhiskey and plop yourself down onto one of the red couches pushed out of the way.
“Did your fashion emergency get solved?”
You jump a mile at the voice coming from behind. You turn to see James leaning over the couch, smirking.
“The what?” You stutter out.
“Marlene said there was a fashion emergency? Was it solved?”
“Oh! Right. Uh, yeah. Lily had simply no idea what to wear to the party. And that’s very important, you see, because she’s trying to impress Mary.”
He leans closer to me, “I think it's working.”
The smell of his cologne wafts to your nose. You can barely breathe as you turn to look to where he’s pointing.
Despite your anxiousness, you can’t help but smile proudly as you see Lily kissing Mary.
You cough awkwardly, “clothes can be a game changer.”
He looks at you intensely, “yeah they can.”
You think about his sweatshirt from earlier. How he liked it, how it made you feel all safe and cozy, how it made you realize your feelings for him.
“You know, speaking of clothes. I need to give you your sweatshirt back, now that I’m done wearing it.”
“I told you you could hang on to it,” he insists.
“But you’ll want to have it for your future partner.” You say quietly.
“What?” He asks you.
You clear your throat, “oh uh, earlier, when I was wearing your sweatshirt, some girls thought I was your girlfriend, because I guess that’s a thing a boyfriend would do- let them wear his clothes. So, of course, you need to have it so you can give it to your actual partner… when you get one. You know, they seemed pretty interested in you, I’m sure I can point them out if you’re interested. They’re pretty too, so…”
You look up at James to see a pained look on his face.
“Hey, are you okay?”
His voice sounds strained as he says, “yeah. I’ll just go take that sweatshirt off your hands then.”
A lump forms in your throat as you nod.
It seems pretty clear to you that James doesn’t like you.
We walk through the crowd and up to your doom. The door shuts behind us and James stays near the doorway as you go to grab his hoodie from the edge of your bed where you put it, neatly folded. You turn to give it to him but his hands remain at his sides.
“James, your hoodie?”
“Was it really that unbearable for you, for people to think that you’re my girlfriend, that you refuse to hang onto it?”
“James, what?”
“Look, I’m sorry. Maybe I shouldn’t be saying this, but I just can’t help it. I want people to think you’re my girlfriend. Because, I like you. I do. And I’m sorry, I know this ruins things, and I know you don’t feel the same, but I can’t keep hiding it any longer.”
You drop the sweatshirt and walk towards James quickly.
“You mean it?”
He nods.
Slowly, you reach your hand out and cup his cheek. You stroke your thumb across his jawline, studying every feature of his face from his hazel eyes, to the slight smile lines around his mouth, and the soft pink of his lips.
“James, I feel the exact same way about you. It took me a bit longer to realize than you, but I do. I really care about you.”
“You don’t know how long I’ve been waiting to hear you say that” he tells me.
Suddenly, he turns you around and pushes you up against the stone wall, “can I kiss you?”
You nod before he catches your lips between his. He tastes like chapstick and mint gum and it’s simply perfect.
You tangle your hands in his already tangled black hair as he grips his hands on your waist.
Eventually, we pull away.
“Maybe we should go back down to the party. People might be wondering where their star player is.” You tease.
“I’ll only agree if you put that hoodie back on. I want to show you off.”
Heat rises to your cheeks, “fine, but turn around.”
He turns around while you change out of your sweater back into his sweatshirt.
“Okay, you’re good to look now.”
He turns around with a huge grin on his face, “my don’t you just look ravishing, darling. I declare you shall never wear anything but my clothes ever again.”
You walk forward and pull him into a hug, “fine by me. I’ve never been more comfortable in my entire life.”
He goes to pull you in for another kiss but you stop him, “later,” you whisper in his ear, winking.
You giddily turn around and quickly escape the room. He chases after you.
Before we enter the common room, you grab his hand tightly. He squeezes it back. As we walk towards our friends, you feel some people staring at the two of you. When we approach Remus, Sirius, Peter, Lily, Dorcas, and Marlene they are beaming like idiots.
“Soooooo…. You two, huh?” Sirius smirks suggestively.
James shoves him slightly, yet still has a goofy grin on his face, “piss off.”
“I’m just glad we don’t have to watch them pine over each other anymore” Peter says, relieved.
“No, but now we have to watch them be all lovey dovey,” complains Lily.
“As if we didn’t just see you getting it on with Mary,” you retort.
“Touché.”
“Wait, so are you two… official?” Dorcas enquires.
We look at each other. “I guess we didn’t officially establish that.” You answer.
“Hold on,” James says to you, letting go of your hand.
He jumps up onto the table, “excuse me, may I have everyone’s attention.”
The room quiets as they all turn to look at him.
“Oh no,” you sigh.
“I have a question to ask a very special someone and I want you all here to witness it!” He turns to you with a huge smile on his face, “darling, sweetheart, apple of my eye, will you go out with me?”
You feel the eyes of dozens of people on you. You even feel the glare of many girls you know would kill to be you right now. Yet even then, nothing can bother you. Because when looking at James, you see nothing else.
“Yes! I’ll go out with you James!” You respond, giggling. He jumps off the table and pulls you in for a kiss. The room cheers loudly.
Safe to say we were the talk of the school for a week.

Prompt 8 - Not A Date
@wolfstarmicrofic May 8, word count 662
“So, fancy going to Hogsmeade with me on Saturday?” Sirius asked. “James is going with Evans and Peter is off with, erm, I can’t remember her name, but he’s off with someone and I don’t want to go on my own.” He scuffed his toe on the rug, looking up at Remus though his eyelashes.
“What, like on a date?” Remus teased. Sirius’s heart skipped a beat.
“Don’t be daft.” He grinned back. But secretly he wished it was a date. He'd wanted one for a while.
“Oh, go on then.” Remus nodded. “I need some new quills anyway.” Sirius beamed.
“Great. Where do you want to meet?”
“Sirius, we live in the same room. We can walk down together.”
“Oh, okay, great.” Sirius felt a bit flustered. James came barrelling in and tackled him to the floor. Thank Merlin for James Potter. He wrapped his arms around James and attempted to get on top of him, but James dead weighted him and squashed him into the floor.
“Hello gorgeous, fancy seeing you here.” James cooed at him.
“Get off me, you big lug.” Sirius wiggled and pushed at James. But that boy was all muscle. James finally got to his feet and hauled Sirius with him. They wandered off together, leaving Remus to his homework.
Saturday came and Sirius had been too excited to sleep. It’s not a date, it’s not a date. He had to keep telling himself. They went down to breakfast together and when they were done James and Peter disappeared off to find their dates.
“Shall we?” Sirius asked, making a show of bowing Remus forward. Remus snorted at him.
“Sure.” And walked off.
The walk down to the village was pretty quiet. The other students milling around them making all the noise.
“So where do you want to go first?” Sirius asked, once the picturesque village was visible before them.
“Honeydukes,” Remus grinned. Of course, Sirius should have known. That boy was addicted to chocolate.
“Perfect.” He grinned as they headed towards the sweet shop.
He opened the door for Remus and said to him as they entered the sweet-smelling place. “Get whatever you want, my treat.” Remus turned and gave him a funny look.
“I thought you said this wasn’t a date.” Sirius swallowed and became very interested in a box of peppermint imps.
“Should I get some of these for Peter? They’re his favourite aren’t they?” Deflection. That always worked, right?
“Sirius, answer the question.” Damn it. Sirius picked up a packet of fudge flies.
“I’ll get these for James as well. Can you see the fizzing whizzbees? I have a hankering for some.” Remus stood in front of him, blocking his way.
“Sirius, is this or is this not a date?” He’d folded his arms, Sirius knew he wasn’t getting out of this.
“Would it really be that bad if it was?!”  He scowled. He was fucking this up as usual. He felt the tell-tale stinging behind his eyes as he blinked back tears that had suddenly tried to burst out of him.
Remus’s arms relaxed.
“No,” He said, his voice low and sincere. Sirius’s eyes snapped up to Remus’s, searching his face for any signs that he was joking. “And if this is a date, I won’t feel bad about lightening your purse.” He winked mischievously and Sirius watched as Remus gabbed a basket and began piling all of his favourite sweets into it.
When it was full, they took it to the till and Sirius paid. His purse was indeed considerably lighter when they left the shop. “Silly bugger.” Remus laughed at him at the same time as he took Sirius’s hand in his and entwined their fingers together. “Right I still need quills, then I’m all yours.” Sirius looked down at their hands and couldn’t believe that this was real. He felt ten feet tall and so happy he could have floated off without the assistance of the fizzing whizzbees.

Zonko's Joke Shop - Nov. 11 - word count: 261 - @wolfstarmicrofic
Zonko’s Joke Shop was a kaleidoscope of colors, noise, and mischief.
It was the perfect place for Hogwarts students to let their inner children run wild, and Sirius Black was practically bouncing with excitement as he dragged Remus Lupin into the shop.
“Pads, we’ve been here twice this week already,” Remus sighed.
“We can never have too many supplies, Moony,” Sirius declared, holding his boyfriend’s hand tight as they weaved through the bustling crowd.
James Potter was already elbow-deep in a barrel of quills that shouted insults when used. He looked up with a grin as they approached. “Oi, Moony! You better keep an eye on him, or we’ll end up with Zonko’s entire inventory in the common room by tonight.”
“Not that you’d complain,” the werewolf said with a wry smile, nodding at the growing collection of items in James’ arms.
Peter Pettigrew appeared from behind a shelf of enchanted whoopee cushions, balancing a box of Filibuster’s Fireworks in his arms. “Do we need these?”
“Peter, Peter, Peter,” Sirius said, draping an arm over Remus’s shoulders, “When do we not?”
The tallest boy rolled his eyes. “And by ‘we,’ you mean you and James. Let’s be honest here.”
“Moony, you wound me! Don’t you want to see McGonagall’s face when her quill starts insulting her hair?”
Before Remus could respond, James burst into laughter. “I can’t wait! Remember last time, when she charmed your robes to be shimmery for a week?”
“I rocked it, to be honest,” Sirius said, eyes twinkling. “What did you think of it, Moons?”
“...no comment.”

Nothing But Treats
For @jilytoberfest day 28 holiday fic (because justice for Jily Halloween)
AO3 Link
“Yes Potter. It’s just syrup charmed red. Look—” She lifts up her hand and gives it a brief lick, shooting him a look when her tongue presses to her skin. For the sake of self preservation, James forbids himself to ruminate on the action.  “This proves nothing,” Sirius says, “If anything this furthers my ‘Lily Evans is a vampire’ theory.” He flashes a look at James, eyes turning dark and mischievous.  “But if you really want us to believe you, let James have a taste.”
“Evans?”
“Hi to you too Potter–”
She lurches back as James barrels towards her with Sirius at his heels. Both boy’s faces twisted in concern.
“Holy Merlin fuck? Someone needs to get you to the hospital wing—”
Lily lets out a loud belly laugh which jostles her drink. The boys stare, completely speechless by her reaction, mouths open and gaping.
Marlene comes up behind Lily. Her blonde hair frizzed to high heaven and sporting a matronly white sleeping gown. In her arms are a pillow, a muggle bible, and a large kitchen knife.
“It’s a costume you swots. Christ, it’s like you purebloods have never gone to a Halloween party before.”
Sirius looks to James for answers, but he can’t pull his eyes from Lily, pupils darting around to look for the source of all of the blood that covers her from head to toe.
“Last time I checked McKinnon,” Sirius starts in, all worry transformed into a haughty smirk, “Halloween parties are where you eat a lot and get shit faced on spiked pumpkin juice—not look like someone tried to murder you.”
“How boring for you,” Lily smirks behind her glass of green liquid, “Halloween really is the one holiday that muggles have us beat.”
“So it’s fake then…the blood.” James stutters out. No one has taken note that James is still staring but now that his worry has subsided, he is able to remark on how stunning she is: wearing a low cut silk dress and her hair making a halo around her face. He would say it was the most beautiful she had ever looked—if he discounted all the blood.
Both Lily and James make matching squeaking noises as Marlene takes her pillow and starts smacking Sirius with it against the chest.
“Don’t you have something better to do then be disgusting to my mate–I dunno, like snog your reflection or something.”
Sirius just laughs, grabbing hold of the pillow and snatching it out of her hands.
“Would love to McKinnon. Care to have a piece of my hair—I could whip up a polyjuice potion for you real quick.”
The two start a continuous banter that fades out into the larger buzz of the party, leaving Lily and James more or less to themselves. Lily can feel James’ stare continue to bore into her and she sips at her drink, hoping that the action will make her feel less uncomfortable.
“Er, sorry about him,” James attempts, hand pushing through his hair with anxiety, I believe it’s not real, I don’t need to lick you–I mean.. ah Fuck—!”
Lily bursts out in a laugh, keeling over to brace herself on her knees. Some of the blood in her hair drips onto the floor.
“Smooth Potter. What every girl wants to hear.” She rights herself up, still shaking.
“Merlin Fuck–I’ll just go jump off the astronomy tower. It’s fine, I deserve it honestly.” His cheeks are burning red, looking everywhere but directly at her.
“Chill out, I’m just taking the piss out of you. Do you want a drink? You look like you might need one.”
She pulls her wand out from a hidden pocket and summons two drinks from the drink cart. The liquid is dark green and tastes like gin and apples.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know much about muggle holidays–” James begins, taking a big swig from his cup. “Can’t really say I know what you are supposed to be either.”
Lily smiles, a genuine one, not like the sarcastic versions she usually sports around him.
“Marls and I are characters from the film Carrie. It’s brilliant— it’s about a girl who gets bullied for being a witch at a muggle school... though now that I’m saying it, it's actually quite sad—”
“Carrie,” James repeats, trying to commit it to memory. “I’ll check it out.”
Lily snorts. “Check it out? How? Last time I checked things like film and television weren’t your bag.”
James looks taken aback, hand resting on his chest.
“How very presumptuous of you Miss Evans. I’ll have you know that I am very ‘in the know’ about the ways of muggle entertainment.”
“Ok-–name one film.”
“Er—,” he stutters, eyes going blank, “Isn’t there one about a wizard? Someone is green? No one has a heart?”
“A real cinephile I see.” He ruffles his hair with a sheepish grin and she smiles at him from behind her glass, finding his ignorance more charming than usual.
“Alright so you got me–but I’d love to learn! Mum deals with a lot of film industry folks in her line of work—would love to not be a complete idiot about it.”
“Why don’t we watch one sometime?” His eyes whip over to hers, completely awe-struck.
“Are you really asking?”
“Are you really interested?”
She sets down her empty glass, and fiddles with the sides of her dress. Gobs of red syrup drench over her fingertips.
“If you don’t want to then—”
“I-I want to!” He interrupts, lunging forwards slightly. “I mean, that would be really brilliant. You tell me the day and I’ll be there.”
She smiles at him again. It could be all the blood smeared on her cheeks, but he thinks she’s blushing. She really does look beautiful, though he can’t imagine a time where she wouldn’t be. Give him a bloody, sticky Lily Evans anyday and he would still find her just as incredible.
“Oh and Evans—” he clears his throat, feeling the weight of her stare.
“Not to be that guy—but has anyone told you that red is your color?”

today is multiverse monday, send me any au you can think of! :)
--
If James had really wanted to keep his secret, perhaps he shouldn't have come in through the window, perhaps he should have used the front door. But he barrels in through the open window anyways, panting and huffing and puffing, "Angel!"
"James!" You parrot his tone, eyes wide as he crashes onto the end of your bed. His hand is ashy, and the black dust rubs off on the fabric.
"I'm sorry," He pants, "I was- I need to tell you something, I didn't mean to miss movie night! I promise I'll make it up to you, I- I just need to confess."
"Calm down," You urge, taking his ash-stained hand and brushing your fingertips over the stuff, "Take your time, Jamie, I'm not mad."
"But I feel bad," He coughs, the sound thick and heavy in his chest, "I- I'm just gonna say it. I- I know this sounds crazy," He grips your wrists with wide eyes, and for a moment he does look it, "I'm Spider-Man."
You blink once at him, unphased, "I know."
His brows furrow and he squints, "Huh? What do y'mean, 'I know'?"
"I mean, I know," You shrug, "You're not very good at keeping secrets, Jamie. Little bottles labeled 'web fluid' go through the wash in your pockets, you just crawled in through the sixth story window, and you left your suit on the floor of the closet last night."
"You know. So you're- so you're not mad?" He's barely able to get his mouth to work, chest still heaving and lips agape.
"Not that you've missed movie night," You shrug, "We can watch a movie whenever we want. About the web fluid thing, though, if one of those bottles pops open in my washing machine ever again, I'll become a supervillain and fight you."
You glare at him with an impressively vicious furrow of your brows, and he's more scared in that moment than of any of the bad guys he's fought in the past.
"Okay," He breathes, an incredulous smile overtaking his features, "Okay, that's- this is good! This is great," He surges forwards to press a kiss to your lips, one that's only slightly bloody, "I- You know!"
"I know," You affirm, smearing the red substance off of James's cut, "And I also know that you need a shower and some bandages. You hop in, and I'll get the first aid kit. Deal?" You pat his thigh, and he nods breathlessly.
"Deal. I- Thank you," He kisses your temple as he darts for the bathroom, and you hear his voice echo around the tile, "My god, you know!"

how much for you to continue the barty shirt fic where they make it up to the tower and tell the marauders🤭
I'll give you this one for free but the rest will cost you
Barty Crouch Jr x potter!reader who tattles on Jegulus
CW: making fun of only children, siblings insulting one another, platonic Prongsfoot drama, no real angst - just chaos Continuation of this one shot
The trek from the Slytherin dungeons up the Gryffindor tower in a full sprint was unideal for even the most athletic and fit quidditch player in the castle; but if there was one thing a lifetime worth of living with James Potter and his pranking ways prepared you for, it was running.
Fortunately for you, this was not a universal experience and you were quickly able to leave Regulus and Barty well enough behind you.
You screamed the password at the Fat Lady who shrieked in fear when she saw you barrelling towards her causing her to open so quickly that the portrait thwacked against the stone walls and you all but dived into the common room.
You stood up straight as your chest burned to survey the patrons of the common room only to find that the entire common room was already doing the same to you.
“Circe’s tits, Potter.” Lily said with a smirk. “You look like you were trying to outrun Peeves.”
Your smile turned devious as you continued panting. “Better.” You answered quickly, turning your sights towards your brother, Peter, Remus, and…
“Sirius!” You greeted as you speed-walked over to their sofas.
“Hey Trouble; get tired of the snakes?” Sirius teased as he moved a chess piece with an air of nonchalance.
You were eager to change that.
Before you could open your mouth, two Slytherin’s came spilling into the common room before the portrait had a chance to close behind them.
“I’m so glad you could join me for this.” You taunted Regulus who’s jaw tightened as he straightened himself up and shook Barty’s hand off his shoulder.
“Isn’t this a nice shirt, Siri?”
Sirius looked up at that as he considered your form. “Yeah, actually; that’s designer, right?”
You look down at it with a smirk when you heard Regulus whisper a cautionary, “Potter.”
“I’m not sure…it’s got a little crown on the sleeve.” You explained innocently.
Sirius’ eyebrows widened at that. “Shit. Yeah those are super expensive; but great quality and super soft. Great choice, Junior.”
“Thank you!” Barty accepted eagerly. “See Treasure? Black gets it.”
You smirked as you looked over at James who you could see by now was clearly sweating. “Right…but I actually stole this from Jamie’s trunk.”
James’ eyes shot to Regulus as yours moved back to Sirius who was staring at you bemusedly.
“That is not Prongs’ shirt, and didn’t Junior just admit it was his?”
“Nope.” Barty answered with a pop of the p. “I admitted buying it.”
“Why are you buying clothes for James?” Remus asked cautiously then, eyes darting nervously between your mischievous form, James’ anxious form, Regulus’ tense form, and Sirius’ confused form.
“Oh, I’d never buy clothes for that Potter.” Barty scoffed. “That shirt was Reggie’s birthday present last year.”
The sound of Peter’s hand slapping against his mouth as he stared at you all wide eyed was the only sound in the entire common room.
Remus was holding his book in front of his face like a shield as he watched the spectacle that was his friend group.
Finally, Lily let out a long suffering sigh. “Potter, you might want to take this chance to get a head start.”
“Right.” James agreed quickly as he took off towards the portrait hole, pausing as he passed Regulus, seeming to decide since he was already going to die tonight, he may as well go big or go home.
He paused long enough to pull Regulus into a searing kiss before ripping away from him and taking off out of the common room.
The room continued to sit silently as everyone digested what they just saw.
“Did we seriously lose both Potter’s to Slytherin’s?” Marlene asked finally, causing Regulus to scoff.
“Like you’ve got a leg to stand on here, McKinnon.”
“At least I’m not fucking my brother’s best friend!” She volleyed back, causing Sirius to let out a dramatic gagging sound.
“You lot really need to spend less time worrying about who your siblings are shagging.” Peter said with an air of finality.
“Thank you!” You and Regulus chorused, causing you to glare at one another.
“You’re taking this rather well, Pads.” Remus chuckled, tapping Sirius’ knee with his book as Sirius continued staring unseeingly at the portrait hole.
“Mhm.”
Remus and Peter exchanged a worried glance. “What are you waiting for?” Peter asked finally.
“James will get lonely when he realizes no one is chasing him.” He replied in monotone. “He’ll be back in a few.”
“Sirius, please be cool about this; I’m happy, alright?” Regulus sighed in exasperation.
Sirius’ eyes flit over to his younger brother as his brows furrowed. “Listen, am I particularly pleased about…this? No. But that’s not what I’m going to kill him for.”
“What are you going to kill him for?” You inquired, wondering if it was worth writing home to your parents about.
The second your sentence finished, James cautiously stepped back through the portrait hole to find the common room in much the same state as he’d left it.
Suddenly, Sirius stood from his spot on the sofa. “ALL THOSE TIMES YOU TOLD ME YOU WERE TOO BUSY TUTORING TO PRANK WITH ME, YOU WERE DITCHING ME FOR MY BROTHER!?”
The room collectively grimaced as they looked over at James.
“Listen mate, it’s not what it looks like.” James pleaded, earning him a scoff from his best friend.
“It isn’t what it looks like!? Because the way it looks to me is that you lied, and you kept secrets! You know, there was a point in this relationship that trust and honesty meant something!” Sirius shouted back.
“It does!” James offered quickly. “It does, Pads! Swear it!”
“Right, forgive me, but your word means nothing to me right now.” He spat as he went storming up towards their shared dorm, James quickly following behind.
“Please don’t shut me out like this; you’re still my other half!”
But the rest of the argument performance was silenced when the door to their room shut behind them.
“Well, Regulus.” Remus sighed with a tired smile. “Welcome to the family; our boyfriend’s are each other’s boyfriends, and this happens every three days.”
“Salazar’s fucking balls.” Regulus groaned as he threw his head back. “This is why I didn’t want it going public.”
“Oi!” You shouted as you lobbed a throw pillow at your new future brother-in-law. “If you’re going to love my brother, love him with your whole chest, coward!”
“You take that back.” He hissed at you.
“I’ll do no such thing.”
“I…I don’t know what to do…should…should we get a professor? What’s happening?” Barty started, looking around the Gryffindor common room with a look of panic on his face.
“Oh, relax, Junior. Your only child is showing.” Remus sighed as he pulled his book back out.
“Aren’t you an only child, Lupin?”
“Yup.” Remus responded as he turned a page of his book. “But I’ve lived in the same tower as the Potters for seven years, and dealt with Sirius and Regulus for the past two; you pick up a few things. Things like this-” he explained as he pointed towards you and Regulus who were still throwing insults back and forth. “Is what siblings call bonding.”
Lily chuckled as Marlene, Barty, Peter, and Remus watched as you called Regulus a “spoiled rotten toerag” to which he replied that “even listening to your voice made him feel like he was losing brain cells”.
“Siblings are weird.” Barty decided.
