Just saw the movie. It was a blast. I wanted to celebrate this with the first thing I made when we finally heard about the movie. We end with what started, a good ol' Jack Black Bowser, here based on what the guy had on him during the Premiere. They're all great. I'll avoid spoilers as much as possible, and please, don't spoil anyone if you saw it, but I have to say one thing : it was really really good. Totally worth the wait. I can now retire. Oh, and obviously, Bowser was amazing. I saw it in French, so no Jack Black or VO for me at the moment, ( even though it's certainly amazing and I want to hear their voice ) ! But from what I've seen, it's amazing, really great Bowser we had here. And really great amazing in general, guys, I hope you will all see it, it's amazing to watch on big screens, it's just beautiful for the eyes. I just saw the new Mario movie trailer and I have got a LOT to say. Forgive me for the crusty ass screenshots but I have to get this out of my system NOW

First off, the Luigi X Bowser shippers are eating GOOD tonight I’m happy for ya’ll (also Charlie Day sounds great and Jack Black Bowser continues to have me in a chokehold sorry not sorry-)

Jack Black Bowser has a chokehold over me. The fruity energy he has with Luigi is something I envy beyond words. I want to be spoken to the way Luigi was spoken to. I want to be Luigi.

I have the power of the pen. I can draw my Sonic OC (read: glorified fursona) in place of Luigi. I can live vicariously through this screenshot redraw from Hell. That was the entire thought process behind this.

"Jack Black's voicing bowser" this, "Jack Black's going to voice bowser in the Mario movie omg" that. I'm excited to see the Chris Pratt movie too, but LEST we forget that him getting announced as bowser wasn't the best thing involving Jack Black in 2022.

Him absolutely obliterating "Spirit of Radio" by Rush with the amazing music producer Greg Kurstin, and the stupidly tallented Dave Grhol from Foo Fighters during the Hanukkah sessions was. This one wins.

Seriously, Jacky-boy's got some real talent in the music business, too. Go listen to some of his other music stuff it's all good.

MARIO MOVIE

some of my silly little thoughts

First of all, I liked that hardly any of the dialogue in the trailers matched up with what was in the actual movie (in the case of “Mushroom Kingdom, here we come,” all I can say is THANK GOODNESS). Kept me on my toes, even when thinking “ok, this bit was in a trailer”.

Second of all, EVERYONE DID A GREAT JOB IMO, INCLUDING CHRIS PRATT! WAHOO! Like a lot of people in this unforgiving place known as the internet, I had my doubts about Mr. Pratt, but I was so glad to be proven wrong. He did a great job!

One more thing before the fun bit. Luigi’s always been my favourite, and omg, they really did him justice! The trailers made me a little worried he might not get as much screen time since he was the “damsel in distress” of sorts, but we still got plenty of weegee action! And of course, Charlie Day was perfect!

Now to the fun stuff!

⚠️NOT REALLY SPOILERS UNLESS YOU WANT EVERY TINY THING TO BE A SURPRISE⚠️

- Was not expecting to see Mario and Luigi’s full family, but I loved it!

- It’s been said in other posts I’ve seen, but I’ll say it again: Luigi has bad knees. I don’t know why I like that detail so much, but I do.

- LUIGI’S RINGTONE WAS THE GAMECUBE STARTUP SOUND OMG

- I loved all the music throughout. All the different tunes they used from different Mario games, and the way they worked them in was so nice. I don’t know why, but it made me particularly excited when the music during the kart customisation scene was based on the music from the kart customisation screen from Mario Kart 8. Like, it’s so obvious - what else would they use? - but I just appreciated it so much.

- The interactions with all the toads in the mushroom kingdom. Aside from Luigi, the roads are my favourites

- DK Seth Rogen did the full on Seth Rogen laugh, and I f*cking died (in a good way). I loved him as DK.

- 🎵Peaches🎵. I love you, Jack Black. Bowser may not be king of the world, but Jack Black sure is.

- I lost my sh*t in that bit where that blonde kong with the glasses was driving them through the jungle kingdom.

I will definitely have more to say, but I’ll leave it there for now. In summary, as someone who’s been a massive Mario since childhood, I loved this so much, and I’m so glad I loved it.

Parties aren't for everyone

“Come on it’ll be nice to dress up and get out.”

Luigi said knowing very well that he was pushing his luck but if he managed to wear down his fiancé then they would be able to attend the party being thrown by Princess Peach and with his older brother being knighted for his contributions to the safety of the princess and becoming her main protector.

As Luigi looked over at the mirror fixing his forest green and lime green spotted bowtie as he looked at his husband who was sulking on the bed and looking back towards his direction but at the wall and glaring at the light switch knowing if his gaze floated towards his fiancé, he wouldn’t be able to hold a glare looking at that face.

“You know that I’m going to go no matter what, whether you join me or not I’m going to support my brother this is a big night for him after years of saving the princess from… well”.

“Me, from me, you don’t have to skirt around it I kidnapped peach a few times,” at the hesitant look from his fiancé he backtracked. “Okay a lot of times, but you know the Koopa and Mushroom kingdom are on good terms and me and peach too.” He concluded quickly before stopping and looking down as Luigi looked over towards him.

Luigi let go off a breath he hadn’t realised that he was holding in as he walked over to his fiancé who was sat on the edge of the bed and Luigi walked over sitting besides him as he slowly placed his hand on Bowsers thigh as he absentmindedly started to draw small circles on his scaly skin as he let out a long relaxing breath.

“You’re on good terms with Mario as well, right? I mean I know royal events aren’t something you enjoy much but Mario is going to be your brother in law so could you not go for that reason, we don’t have to stay for the entire night we can leave the party but there’s a dance, it’d be a shame if my husband to be wasn’t there to lead me through a dance.”

Bowser simple let out  gruff snort with the ashy smelling smoke exhaling from his snout.

“Please…” Luigi added looking up at his fiancé with puppy dog eyes knowing it was a tactic the Koopalings had often used on their father for many a reason.

As Bowser looked down towards his fiancé he froze and looked at the innocent and puppy dog eyes and his eyes widened. This was a super argument something meaningless as he tilted his head slightly as he had looked at his fiancé a smile tugging back at his lips and his lips curled into a smile.

“Alright then fine, ill get my suit but ill hold you to escaping the party, you mentioned a while back that the gardens in peaches castle are nice?”

Luigi smiled brightly getting up quickly and getting in front of the mirror once again as he looked through the mirror as Bowser found his suit quickly pulling it on it was matching luigi but slightly different both suits were black however, the accent colour of Luigi’s was green and Bowsers was red.

The accent colour was shown on the buttons and the tie, his shoes were black with the souls having a touch of the accent colour. The shirt underneath was white and was buttoned with the accent colours on the shirt and the blouse with the cuffs of the shirts having a button with the accent colour.

"ready to go?" Bowser said with a gruff voice as his fiance nodded getting up and taking Bowser's arm as they left.
