Domesticated - Jace Herondale x Female (Daylighter) Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: this is a 5 + 1 of all the times you and Jace act like a couple even before you admit feelings for each other
Words: 6k
Warnings: injury, bleeding, blood drinking
Y/N’s POV -
Part One
I’m not really sure when Jace appearing at random hours of the day in my apartment became a normal things. He’s dirty and covered in ichor from a demon hunt the Clave sent him and Alec on and he’s grumbling to himself as he shrugs off his leather jacket. There’s dried blood on him from wounds his iratze rune probably healed and he’s toeing off his shoes before grumbling more about the demons.
“I’m going to shower.” He tells me, voice gruff but there’s a softness to it as he addresses me.
“Alright Jace.” I respond, turning back to the show I was watching, waiting up for him to get back as it’s nearly 2am. Being a vampire is weird, especially a daylighter like Simon as at first I was nocturnal and now, suddenly, I’m back to daylight hours. It was weird getting used to humanity again but ever since Jace has been coming round it’s been easier somehow.
As I listen to the sound of the water running in the bathroom, I can’t help but think about how effortlessly Jace fits into my life. We’ve been…friends? Yeah, friends for so long, and lately, it feels like we’ve crossed some invisible line into something more. But whenever I’m around him, my heart would be pounding if it could still beat and there’s a stirring in my undead soul, a flutter of excitement I though I had long forgotten.
If it weren’t for Jace, I might have left the Shadowhunter world behind altogether, taken Magnus up on whisking me somewhere far away, maybe Canada, Clary and Simon, my own best friends, seem to have forgotten about me again, lost in their own adventures and relationship. And Luke, the only parental figure in my life, is more invested in his pack than checking up on me. But somehow, Jace always manages to find his way back to my doorstep, like a guiding light in the darkness.
I remember the first time he appeared on my doorstep, how he looked at me with those piercing golden eyes and saw something in me that no one else seemed to. He didn’t treat me like a monster or a freak because of what I had become, but instead, he saw me for who I truly am—a creature worthy of love and friendship.
And now, sitting here on the couch, waiting for him to remerge from the bathroom, I can’t help but wonder how the hell we ended up here in this weird dance and routine, so domesticated. One moment we’re battling demons and next, we’re lounging on the couch like a couple of teenagers on a lazy Sunday afternoon.
Finally, after what feel like an eternity, Jace remerges from the bathroom, looking surprisingly innocent and boyish in a pair of tracksuit bottoms and a graphic tee-shirt that I’m pretty sure is either mine or my brothers. His hair is still damp from the shower, tousled in a way that makes him look disarmingly handsome. Despite the exhaustion tech into his features, there’s a spark in his golden eyes that never fails to draw me in.
Jace collapses onto the couch beside me, his head finding its place on my shoulder, it feels like the most natural thing in the world. His weight against me is comforting, like an anchor tethering me to reality amidst the chaos of our lives. I close my eyes, revelling in the warmth of his presence and the steady rhythm of his breath against my skin.
As exhaustion finally catches up to him, his breathing evens out, lulling me into a sense of peace. I listen to the sound of his steady inhales and exhales, a gentle melody that soothes my restless mind. And as I drift off into sleep, I'm enveloped in the cocoon of his scent—sunshine and something uniquely Jace, mixed with the subtle fragrance of my shower products. It's a comforting aroma, one that fills me with a sense of belonging and contentment.
In the depths of slumber, I feel his warmth beside me, a constant presence that eases my fears and worries. But when I wake in the morning, he's gone, leaving behind only a hastily scrawled note on my coffee table. My heart sinks as I read his words, explaining that Alec called him in early for paperwork and debriefing on the previous day's hunt.
Despite the pang of disappointment at his absence, I can't help but smile at the thought of him, out there in the world, fighting alongside his fellow Shadowhunters. And as I rise to start the day, I carry with me the memory of his presence, the echo of his warmth lingering in the air like a promise of his return.
Part Two
I awake to a crashing and the grumbled cry of Jace, my panic immediately vanishing at the sound of his voice. My phone reads 7.03pm and I’m realising my nap was longer than I had planned or anticipated, having tried to stay awake for Jace who had messaged me to say he’d be home in time for dinner.
As I groggily process the situation, something within me stirs at the realisation Jace used the word “home” to describe my place. It’s a simple word, but coming from him, it carries a weight that sends a flutter through my un-beating heart. I push aside the covers and pull myself sleepy from bed, feeling the fabric of a shirt that definitely isn’t mine brush against my skin as it reaches mid-thigh.
Shuffling towards the kitchen, I’m met with the sight and smell of chaos. Jace is in the midst of a culinary disaster, his brow furrowed in frustration as he grumbles to himself. The scent of burning food fills the air, assaulting my sensitive vampire senses, But despite the mess and the mishap, there’s something oddly endearing about the scene—the way Jace is so determined to make dinner for us, even if it means nothing is going according to plan.
As I approach him, I can’t help but smile at the sight of him, his hir tousled and his expression a mix of annoyance and determination. Despite the chaos, there a sense of warmth and familiarity in the air, a feeling of him that I’ve come to associate with him.
I head straight for the fridge to grab fresh ingredients as soon as I get the gist of what he was trying to make by the minced meat and the spaghetti, catching the way he looks at me. There’s a softness in his gaze, a silent appreciation for my presence and the way I effortlessly step in to salvage the situation. But when I reach for the pasta sauce, Jace stops me, holding up a jar of red liquid.
My heart tries to burst out of my chest when I realise what it is. Jace wasn’t just trying to make dinner for us; he was trying to recreate a meal I loved as a human, altered for my now vampire self. It’s a small gesture, but it speaks volumes about his thoughtfulness and the depth of his care for me.
“Raphael said it was the best of the best and told me how to prepare it so it doesn’t…” Jace waves his hands around trying to think of the word Raphael used, “Separate?”
I can’t help but laugh softly at the face Jace makes as he says the word ‘separate’. It’s moments like these that remind me of just how endearing he can be, even when he’s trying his best to navigate unfamiliar territory like helping a vampire like me.
Stepping closer to him, I wrap my arms around him in a hug, feeling the tension in his muscles as he hesitates before finally relaxing enough to return the embrace. His strong arms wrap around me, pulling me close as he buries his face in my hair. In the moment, with the scent of blood and spices lingering in the air and the warmth of Jace’s embrace surrounding me, I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude and love for the man standing in front of me.
Reluctantly, Jace finally lets me go, suggesting we try cooking again. As I try to assist him, he’s suddenly spinning me back to face and him and gripping my waist in his strong hands, lifting me and sitting me on a clean area of the counter top, “You’re to just sit there and look pretty while I work this out.” He says with a smirk, a hint of redness colouring his cheeks.
I can’t help but let out the most embarrassing giggle at his sudden shyness, feeling a warmth spread through me at his playfulness. As I watch him move around the pitch with practiced ease, a sense of contentment washes over me. Despite the chaos and mishaps, being here with Jace feels like home.
And as I sit on the counter, watching him cook, I cant’t help but feel grateful for moments like these—simple, ordinary, mundane moments that remind me of what I could have had when human. Surrounded by the warmth and aroma of our makeshift meal and Jace’s soft humming as he cooks, I know that no matter what challenges may come our way, as long as we have each other, we'll always find a way to make it through.
Part Three
The library is quiet as I slip inside, the familiar scent of old books and parchment greeting me like an old friend. Alec had given me permission to use the Institute as a safe haven whenever I like, and I often find myself wandering towards the library. It’s become my sanctuary, a place where I can escape the weird world I’m now a part of and lose myself in the pages of novels and histories.
As I roam the aisles, my fingers trailing along the spines of countless books, I feel a sense of calm wash over me. The library is a treasure trove of knowledge, and I’ve made it my mission to learn as much as I can about the Shadowhunter world. I immerse myself in the histories of the Clave, learning about the battles fought and the heroes who rose to prominence, the history of the main families in this world.
Eventually, I pick a book off the shelves, one that Alec had actually recommended to me during one of our conversations. It’s a thick volume filled with tales of Shadowhunter lore, and I can’t wait to delve into its pages. With a contented sigh, I sink into one of the soft loveseats scattered throughout the massive library, feeling eh weight of the book in my hands as I lose myself in the pages.
For the rest of the afternoon, I’m lost in a world of magic and mystery, my surroundings fading away as I become immersed in the story unfolding before me. The hours pass in a blur, but in the moment, surrounded by the knowledge and history of the Shadowhunters, I feel a sense of belonging and purpose that I’ve been searching for since the day I was turned.
My attention is momentarily drawn away from the pages of the book in my hand by the faint murmur of voices approaching. It takes a moment but I’m recognising the voices, the cadence of their speech familiar to me even from a distance with my new hearing abilities. But it’s the sound of the library door opening that truly captures my attention, and when I look up, my heart skips a beat at the sight of a familiar blonde figure standing in the doorway.
Jace.
His golden eyes scan the room, searching, until they land on me. A smile spreads across his face, lighting up his features in a way that never fails to make my heart flutter like it’s still beating, “There you are, Mouse,” He greets, using the stupid pet name he’s decided for me, “You weren’t at home.”
As he strides over, my attention is captivated by the way his muscles ripple beneath the fabric of his tight black shirt, each movement a testament to his strength and grace. My pulse would be skyrocketing if it could, and I can feel a flush from the recent blood I drank creeping its way up my neck as he stops in front of me, his presence commanding and magnetic.
“Hey Jace,” I manage to say, voice betraying the flutters of excitement I feel within me.
He smirks, golden eyes dancing with amusement as if he knows what he’s doing to me, “What were you doing here all alone?” He asks, tone teasing yet filled with genuine curiosity.
I just shrug, attempting to maintain an air of casualness despite the turmoil of emotions swirling within me, “Just needed the quiet.” I reply, my voice soft.
He nods in understanding, his expression softening as he reaches out to gently tuck a strand of hair behind my ear. The simple gesture sending a shiver down my spine, igniting a rush of sensations that I struggle to contain. His proximity, his touch—it's all too much, and yet not enough.
“Hey, listen,” He says, his voice warm and inviting, “We’re all heading to the Hunter’s Moon to hear Simon sing, You wanna join us?”
The thought of being surrounded by so many voices, sounds and smells—the overwhelming sensory overload—has me shuddering involuntarily. I feel a knot form in my stomach, a wave of anxiety washing over me at the mere thought of venturing out into the bustling world beyond the quiet of the Institute currently.
With a shaky breath, I shake my head almost aggressively, “No, I think I’ll pass.” I reply, my voice barely above a whisper, “I’m… I’m not really in the mood for crowds tonight.”
Jace nods in understanding, his expression sympathetic, “Hey, that’s okay,” He reassures me, his voice gentle, and he’s surprising me by leaning down and pressing a soft kiss to my cheek, “You do what feels right for you. But if you ever change your mind, we’ll be there.”
I offer him a weak smile, grateful for his understanding, “Thanks Sunshine.” I murmur, the weight of my anxiety slowly easing with his words of reassurance and his sweet actions.
As Jace turns to leave, I watch him go, feeling a sense of longing wash over me like a gentle tide. His departure leaves an ache in my chest, a yearning for something more, something I can't quite name. But then, I feel the lingering warmth of his kiss on my cheek, a fleeting touch that sends a jolt of electricity through me.
Despite my reluctance to join them, a part of me wishes I could be there, sharing in the camaraderie and laughter with Jace and the others. The thought of being by his side, laughing and joking like we always do, fills me with a bittersweet longing.
In the moment, as I sit alone in the quiet solitude of the library, the whole interaction feels strangely domesticated, as if it’s something we’ve done a thousand times before. Jace’s kiss was casual yet intimate, like it was a natural extension of our friendship, and yet it leaves me yearning for more.
I can’t help but replay the moment in my mind, the sensation of his lips against my cold skin, the warmth of his touch. It’s a memory I want to hold onto, to savour and cherish, and yet it only serves to deepen my desire for him.
As I sink back into the soft cushions of the loveseat, the ache in my chest lingers, a constant reminder of the feelings I can’t shake. I want him to kiss me again, to make me feel alive in a way I never thought possible. And as I close my eyes and let out a heavy sigh, I know that despite the risks and uncertainties, I can't deny the pull he has on my undead heart.
Part Four
I honestly have no idea how I ended up in the training room with Jace but I definitely know how I ended up on my ass glaring up at his laughing figure. Jace decided that he was going to teach me how to defend myself as Alec wants downworlders to help Shadowhunters on patrols to bridge the gap that had formed since Valentine.
So here I am, climbing to my feet and glaring at Jace who readies himself for another round and my body is already aching. Jace is already readying himself for another round, and I steel myself for the onslaught, determined to at least make him break a sweat. As he lunges at me, I use my vampire speed to dodge and jab him in the back with my elbow with precision. But before I can revel in the small victory, he’s already spinning around and swiping my feet out from underneath me again.
I hit the ground with a frustrated grunt, the air would have been knocked out of me if I were still breathing. I let out a sound of pure annoyance as I lie there, staring up at the ceiling, feeling so goddamn angry that I haven’t managed to get Jace down once.
“Come on, Mouse,” Jace says, offering me a hand up, “You’re getting better, I promise.”
I take his hand and pull myself to my feet yet again, but the weight of defeat still hangs heavy on my shoulders. No matter how hard I try, I can't seem to measure up to Jace's level of skill and agility. It's frustrating, disheartening even, to constantly fall short despite my best efforts.
With a heavy sigh, I get back into position, expecting Jace to do the same but instead a small gasp is drawn from me when I feel his body practically pressed to my back as he adjusts my positioning. I feel a rush of warmth as he nudges my feet into a better position and adjusts my arms, guiding them a little higher.
His touch is firm yet gentle, his hands moving with practiced precision as he adjusts my stance. And then, his hands fall to my hips, twisting them slightly to improve my balance before he steps back, satisfied with his work.
I’m left standing there, the lingering sensations of his touch sending a shiver down my spine. Despite the lack of a heartbeat or any physical sensations, I can’t deny the way he makes me feel. Safe. Protected. As if, just for a moment, the weight of the world is lifted from my shoulders and I can simply be.
With a renewed determination, I square my shoulder and focus on the task at hand. As we being sparring again, I find myself moving with a newfound confidence, each strike more precise than the last. And then, miraculously, it happens—I actually manage to get Jace down for once.
I just watch in disbelief as he hits the ground, a surprised laugh escaping him as he looks up at me with sparkling eyes. In the moment, his laughter is like music to y ears, lighthearted. As Jace lies there, sprawled on the ground with a grin that could light up the room, I can't help but feel a rush of exhilaration. His boyish charm and playful energy are infectious, making me forget for a moment that we're supposed to be training. But as he starts to rise, that cocky smirk forming on his lips, I know the challenge isn't over yet.
With a twinkle in his eyes, he beckons me forward, goading me to try again. His confidence is palpable, almost tangible in the air between us. And I, of course, take the bait, eager to prove myself once more.
But, as I unleash my vampire strength and speed, throwing my self into the spar with all I’ve got, I quickly realise that Jace has activated both runes, his agility now matching mine. His speed rune makes him a formidable opponent, dodging and waving with ease, always one step ahead.
In the blink of an eye, he’s behind me, sweeping my feet out from under me with a swift motion. I feel the ground rushing up to meet me, but my reflexes kick in instinctively. As I tumble backwards, I grab onto Jace’s shirt, pulling him down with me.
We land in a tangled heap, laughter bubbling up between us as we lie there, catching our breath. For a moment, time seems to stand still, the world around us fading away until it's just the two of us, tangled together on the ground. I can smell how sweet and like sunshine Jace’s blood smells in his veins and feel the way his heart is pounding as he buries his face in my neck.
And in the moment, I realise just how much I enjoy being with him, the easy camaraderie and undeniable chemistry between us, making me, again, realise just how domesticated we are with each other.
Part Five
The rain is coming down so hard it’s bordering on hail and as overwhelming as my senses are, the sound of it hitting the windows of my apartment is actually very comforting. Jace is in the shower again, coming back from another demon nest hunt and he’s told me he ordered pizzas on his way home as he invited the others around to jin us for the movie night before he jumped in the shower.
As grateful as I am for his presence, a flicker of anxiety creeps into my mind at the thought of the others joining us. Alec and Magnus have always been welcoming, their easygoing nature together putting me at ease from the start. But Simon and Clary, lost in their own bubble of love, often seem oblivious to anyone around them nowadays, especially me their childhood friend. And Izzy.. well, Izzy can get anyone she wants with a bat of her eyelashes has me a little jealous.
As I wait for Jace to emerge from the shower, the sound of the rain drumming against the window grows louder, echoing the turmoil of my thoughts. I find myself questioning whether I’ll be able to navigate the dynamics of the evening, whether I’ll be able to hold my own amidst the company of the Shadowhunters and Downworlders that make up Jace’s inner circle.
But then, as if sensing my apprehension, Jace appears, a towel draped casually around his waist and a smile lighting up his face. It’s as if time itself pauses for a moment, allowing me to drink in the sight before me. His presence is like a beacon of light in the dimly lit apartment, his golden eyes sparkling with warmth and mischief. With his damp hair tousled and his skin glistening with droplets of water, he looks every bit like an adonis, a vision of strength and beauty.
The towel draped casually around his waist hangs dangerously low, teasingly revealing the beginnings of his happy trail. My gaze is drawn to the tantalising glimpse of skin, the curve of his hips, the sculptured muscles of his abdomen. It's a sight that leaves me breathless, a reminder of just how effortlessly attractive he is.
But it's not just his physical appearance that captivates me; it's the way he carries himself, with a confidence that borders on arrogance yet somehow remains endearing. His smile is like a beacon of warmth, infectious and irresistible, drawing me closer with its magnetic pull.
As he moves closer, the scent of his shower gel fills the air, a heady mixture of musk and citrus that sends a shiver down my spine. I find myself mesmerised by the play of light and shadow on his skin, the way the droplets of water cling to his body like liquid diamonds. He brushes a gentle kiss against my cheek, his touch reassuring in its familiarity, a warmth spreading through me, soothing the lingering traces of anxiety that had gripped me moments before. His touch is a familiar reassurance, grounding me to the present moment and easing the flutter of my nonexistent heartbeat.
But before I can fully lose myself in the intimacy of the moment, a sharp knock at the door interrupts us, shattering the fragile bubble of privacy we’ve created. With a playful smack to Jace’s arm I stop him from heading to the door, “Go get some damn clothes on, I’ll answer it.” Before I’m striding over to answer the door, cheeks flushed with a heat that most likely betrays the intensity of my emotions.
As I swing the door open, Jace is ducking into our room and I’m met with the amused gazes of Alec and Magnus, their eyebrows raised in teasing curiosity. Magnus’ playful smirk hints at the mischief dancing in his eyes, while Alec's expression is a mix of amusement and affection.
Despite my embarrassment at being caught in such a vulnerable moment, I can't help but smile at the sight of them. Their presence is like a ray of sunshine breaking through the clouds, casting a warm glow over the room and dispelling the tension that had threatened to linger.
Suppressing the urge to bury my burning cheeks in my hands, I offer them a sheepish grin, knowing they heard what I said through the door, hoping to deflect their teasing with a lighthearted remark. But as Magnus's eyebrow quirks suggestively, I know that my attempt at nonchalance has fallen short. So, with a sigh of resignation, I step aside to let them in, knowing that there's no use in trying to hide the flush that still colours my cheeks
As I step aside to let them in, Alec hands me a DVD with a knowing smile. I can’t help bit roll my eyes fondly at his choice—Dracula. It’s become somewhat of an inside joke between me and Jace so I just know Jace told him to bring it. But before I have a chance to protest, Magnus is interjecting, his tone unreadable as he tells me “I’m afraid the others won’t be joining us tonight,”
But Magnus’ words cut through the light-hearted banter, his tone carrying an unexpected weight as he informs me of the absence of our other friends. A pang of disappointment courses through me, a subtle ache in my chest as I realise that Clary and Simon won't be joining us tonight. They were more than just friends—they were my childhood companions, the ones who had been there through thick and thin. Their absence feels like a tangible loss, a reminder of how much our lives have changed since those carefree days of youth.
As I put the DVD in and get it ready, sinking into the couch with a heavy heart, I can't help but feel a sense of longing for the comfort of their presence. But I push aside those feelings, focusing instead on the company of Alec and Magnus, who have become like family to me in their own right.
I sink into the cushions, allowing Alec and Magnus to take the other couch as we wait for Jace to return with the pizzas. Despite the disappointment lingering in the air, there's a quiet camaraderie between us, a shared understanding that in times of need, we can always rely on each other.
As the anticipation of Jace's return hangs in the air, the sound of the door opening signals his arrival. He appears just in time to answer the door, a grin spreading across his face as he enters with pizzas in hand. The sight of him brings a flicker of warmth to my heart, dispelling the lingering disappointment of our missing friends.
Jace sets the pizzas down on the table with a flourish, his presence injecting a sense of energy into the room. With a casual ease, he joins us on the couch, seamlessly sliding in beside me. Without a second thought, he wraps an arm around my shoulders, pulling me snugly into his side. The gesture both  comforting and familiar, a silent reassurance of his affection for me. I lean into his embrace, feeling the warmth of his body against mine as he adjusts the blanket to cover us both. It's a simple act, but it speaks volumes about the bond we share—a bond that transcends words and barriers, connecting us on a deeper level.
With the remote in hand, Jace settles back against the cushions, his gaze fixed on the screen as he starts the movie. As the opening credits roll, I feel a sense of contentment wash over me, grateful for the warmth of Jace's embrace and the company of friends who feel like family.
Despite the disappointments and challenges we may face, in this moment, surrounded by laughter and love, I know that we'll always have each other. And as we lose ourselves in the world of Dracula, I find solace in the simple pleasures of friendship and companionship, knowing that no matter what the future may hold, we'll face it together, as a team.
Plus One
I’m not really sure how it happened but one moment I’m walking home from a day at the coffee shop and the next I’m being thrown into a wall. A wave of disorientating pain washes over me, leaving me gasping for breath and struggling to make sense eo what just happened. My sense reel, the world spinning in a dizzying blur as I try to focus on what just hit me.
For a terrifying moment, I’m convinced that this is it—that I’m facing my end, torn to shreds by whatever unseen force assaulted me. Panic claws at the edges of my consciousness, threatening to consume me as I brace for the final blow.
But then, as suddenly as it began, the assault ceases, leaving me trembling and shaken in its wake, unable to heal as I’ve lost too much blood. Slowly, I stagger to my feet, the world still spinning around me as I struggle to regain my bearings. The realisation that I’ve lost too much blood to heal hits me like a physical blow, leaving me lightheaded and unsteady. Every step is a battle against the dizziness and weakness that threatens to overwhelm me, but I push forward with grim determination.
With each faltering step, the distance to the institute feels impossibly far, unable to use vampire speed without passing out. Panic sets in as I realise that Jace, my lifeline, is at the Institute today, and he hasn’t called to tell me he’s on his way home. Fear grips me like a vice, squeezing the breath from my lungs as I struggle to keep moving forwards.
The world around me blurs as I stumble out of the alleyway and into the desired streets. My vision swims, the darkness closing in around me as I fight to stay conscious. Each breath is a struggle, my lungs burning with exertion as I push my body beyond its limits.
Time loses all meaning as I continue to trudge forwards my footsteps echoing in the empty silence of the night. The Institute looms in the distance like a beacon of hope, its towering walls offering the promise of safety and sanctuary. But with each passing moment, it feels as though I'm slipping further and further away, teetering on the brink of unconsciousness.
Desperation claws at the edge of my consciousness as I force myself to keep moving, driven by the fear of what awaits me if I don’t reach the Institute in time. Every step is a battle against the darkness that threatens to engulf me, but I refuse to give up.
With every ounce of strength I can muster, I push myself forward, determination fuelling my movements as I draw upon the last reserves of energy within me. As I approach the looming doors of the Institute, desperation spurs me to action, and I unleash the full force of my vampire speed.
The doors fly open before me with a forceful momentum, swinging wide as if welcoming me home. But even as I breach the threshold, I trigger the wards surrounding the entrance, setting off alarms that echo through the empty halls. Before I can fully comprehend the situation, Jace appears before me, his weapon raised in a defensive stance. The sight of him, strong and unwavering, fills me with both relief and a sense of impending doom. I choke out his name, my voice barely a whisper as I struggle to remain upright.
My knees give way beneath me, threatening to send me crashing to the unforgiving tiles below. But in the blink of an eye, Jace is there, his arms wrapping around me with lightning speed, catching me before I can hit the ground. The seraph blade clatters to the floor, forgotten in the urgency of the moment as Jace sinks us to the floor, cradling me in his arms, his eyes filled with concern and a hint of fear. I reach out to him, my fingers trembling as they brush against his cheek, a silent plea for reassurance.
Despite my initial resistance, Jace's urgency is palpable, his wrist pressed insistently against my mouth as he pleads with me to drink. Fear courses through me as I shake my head, the thought of losing control terrifying me to the core. But as the scent of his blood fills my senses, a primal hunger takes hold, overpowering my rational thoughts. With a grip on my hair that borders on painful, Jace guides my mouth to the wound on his wrist, his other hand pressing against the back of my head. The taste of his blood is like nothing I've ever experienced before—warm and intoxicating, with a sweetness that rivals the warmth of the sun.
As I drink, the fog that had clouded my mind begins to lift, clarity returning with each swallow. Guilt washes over me in waves, but I can't bring myself to stop. Jace's blood is a lifeline, grounding me in the present moment and soothing the ache of my wounds. I feed until I can feel the worst of the wounds stopping bleeding, my tongue lapping at the skin on Jace’s wrist to seal it shut. The taste of his blood lingering on my lips, a bittersweet taste.
With a sigh of relief, I collapse against Jace's safe chest, my body trembling with exhaustion and relief. His touch is gentle yet firm, his hand cupping my jaw with a tenderness that tugs at my heartstrings. I feel his thumb under my chin, lifting my gaze to meet his, and as I look into those golden eyes, I see the raw emotion reflected in their depths.
Tears glisten in his eyes, a silent testament to the fear and concern he's been harboring for me. His voice is soft as he checks if I'm okay, the sound of it like a soothing balm to my battered soul. In that moment, I realise just how much he cares, how deeply he feels, and the thought fills me with a warmth that transcends the physical.
As he leans down, his lips ghosting over mine with a hesitance that speaks volumes, I can feel the tension building between us, a palpable electricity that crackles in the air. My heart would be hammering in my chest, a rhythm that matches the erratic beat of his own. A small whine escapes my throat, a sound born of longing and need, and in that instant, his resolve crumbles. His lips crash against mine with a fervour that steals my breath away, a kiss so full of passion and intensity that it leaves me reeling.
In that moment, I feel alive in a way I never have before, as if every nerve in my body is on fire with the intensity of his touch. It's as if he's breathing life back into me with each caress of his lips, each touch igniting a fire that burns brighter than the sun.
“Maybe don’t almost die to act upon mutual feelings.” Jace is mumbling against my lips, earning a weak smack from me.
“Shut up.”
“Make me.” He retorts, kissing me softly once again.
“Later I will.”

"what are you doing?"
your meek voice could be heard from where you sat on the bed, jace's bed from inside the institute, clad only in one of the boy's oversized shirts, nothing beneath.
jace walked back towards the bed with evident cockiness in his expression, you were sure that he couldn't shake it even if he wanted to. "just putting the silencing rune on the door." placing his mouth against your neck and his hands against your waist, unable to think of anything other than you.
your voice was above a whisper, hands roaming towards his neck. "promise?" because though he was a shadowhunter, he could still lie. a disadvantage you were seemingly always caught up in.
he parted his mouth from your neck, cocking his head to the side with a playful smile on his lips. "don't you trust me?" as if the question had been one that didn't need an answer, he'd press anyway.
your mind danced to the flashback when jace had told you he'd put the silencing rune on the door and yet as you walked out of the room the next day, you earned many stares and glances. jace had smirked at that, once confronted stating that you were his and everyone in the institute should know so. "not really." you answered honestly, voice low as a mouse.
a low chuckle fell from the blonde's lips, eyes tracing your face. "i love that you can't lie."
you, not so much.
there were many things you could have went your entire life without telling jace but when presented with the right questions, you had no choice but to answer with the truth, unable to will a lie to stain your tongue.
your own eyes traced his face. you could feel the gentleness of his fingers against your thighs, they'd moved from your waist to the nakedness of your skin, inching just below the shirt that he'd drawn up more than he'd care to admit. from earlier activities, he knew that nothing lay beneath the shirt, it only egged him on more.
his eyes bored into yours, a grin against his lips. "you really love me, don't you?" it was more of a statement, not a question. he could see it in the way your eyes couldn't leave his, the way they traced his skin so gently. you two weren't exactly 'exclusive' just yet but he was yours and you were his, it was all that mattered to the both of you.
his fingers gently moved upwards causing air to trap in your throat. "you already know the answer to that." stating the truth but unable to admit what so desperately scratched at your tongue.
around him, you couldn't be held accountable for the tales you would tell.
"no lies there." he answered, lips attaching and detaching from your neck again. "but i want to hear you say it."
his hot breath against the nape of your neck along with the tone of voice he spoke in, one of certain demand, as if he were giving you straight obligations. it was enough to have your face hot and your hands clawing at his arms.
you didn't have to be inexperienced to get so flustered around jace, it simply happened. your voice was strained, holing in a mewl at the edge of your tongue. "i can't." voice broken and shattered.
it was hard to keep a steady breath when his fingers travelled further up your skin, lips sucking on the skin of your neck, creating what he'd soon assure you was simply a 'love bite' and assure you that it was nothing to be embarrassed about, convincing you to wear it about in the institute and have people look at you funny.
"yes, you can, angel." his voice reassuring and soft, his fingers gently squeezed at your thigh. however, you answered with only a shattered gasp leading his fingers to trail further and beneath the cotton shirt over your frame. "come on, baby, say it." voice a breathless whisper against your exposed skin. "lemme hear you say it, come on."
being a seelie, you were bound by the truth, unable to lie.
however, jace herondale was the reason your mouth would spew so many words.
he couldn't force the words out of you, that wasn't how being a seelie worked, he could make you talk. but he had such a good way at making you do it, manipulating your lips into moving.
perhaps it was the gentle hand that moved upwards to your pussy, collecting the wetness of your core and causing you to whine, the feeling of his thumb sinking down on your clit and gently circling it. "say it." he teased, smirking close to your cheek.
"i love you."
and jace wore a look of satisfaction, knowing you couldn't lie, knowing it had been the truth.
"good girl." left his lips, sinking back onto your neck and allowing the first finger to enter your core. you shook, your face pushing into his shoulder and muffling your noises. "wanna hear you." is all he mumbled back. "silencing rune is on the door, baby, no one will hear you but me."
and didn't that sound like an offer you simply couldn't give up.
once again, jace herondale managed to put you in a position where you couldn't so much as fight it. a whine left your lips, feeling him add a finger into your core and pump them in and out without grace, rapidly.
you had this thing about you, beautiful soft and slow. jace would like to add that he was quite the opposite. and he relished in it. he relished in using his fingers to ram inside your hole, the palm of his hand hitting against your clit and causing enough stimulation to have your back arching from the bed, hands pawing at him like a kitten, trying to hold onto whatever sense was left in your head, using him to ground you.
however, the more you grasped at his big arms, caging you, the deeper you fell.
it was almost impossible to will your mind back to reality and jace didn't bother to help. on the contrary, he pushed you even further.
"good girl, good girl." smiling gently as he repeated the words to himself. his free hand came down on your face, thumb swiping across your bottom lip and watching as your face scrunched up in emotions you couldn't quite string together. "such a good girl f'me, huh?" words as much of a tease as they were a praise. "my pretty girl, yeah? you my pretty girl?"
and you were so far gone that you couldn't register the words that moved from his mouth to your ears, nodding and babbling incoherent words, whines and whimpers stretching from your mouth.
finally, you felt the familiar knot inside your stomach and the boy did nothing to stop his movements, willing you over the edge until finally he felt your juices on his fingers. he brought his hand up to lick them off, watching as your eyes shut and your pawing hands pulled him closer.
this time, he moved with your hands, coming closer to your body and letting you grasp onto him, the only reality left.
and the words seemed metallic on your tongue, unable to string anything else together. "i love you." you whispered, hopelessly. "i love you." like a prayer on one's dying tongue.
there was something eerily comforting to jace, knowing you couldn't lie to him, bound only by the truth.
i love you too repeated in his own head, willing it to move to his tongue. jace wasn't like you, he had the option to lie, though he'd never do such a thing.
yet he found the words harder to lift onto his tongue, unknowing if you'd ever believe him in the assuredness that he believed you. perhaps it was everything he was afraid of.
which is why he said nothing.

I'm a Herondale defender till the day i die
I'll never understand why people hate the Herondales minus Will and James
Seriously, i don't know why people don't like Jace, he is hilarious and a great friend and brother.
And DON'T GET ME STARTED ON KIT, my baby, i love him so much, and people hate him for the things he do and said at the end of QoAaD, eeeeeeee he was 15!? And in a battle time, his family was murdered and he was forced to live with people he had been told his whole life that were awful and he had to hate and fear, also one of the first friends he made was killed, and on top of dealing with coming to terms on your identity and stress, he had to deal with grief and help Ty do something that he was against and was ilegal.
So if people has a problem with how he dealt with the situation, he did great, i would definitely done worse at his age to be fair.
So please, before hating, take into consideration the situation and how would you have handled it

Relax||Jace Herondale x Fem!reader
Tumblr media
Masterlist
Summary: after a long day of fighting, jace just wants to relax the night with you
Warnings: smut ,fluff
A/n: probably the best smut I’ve ever written
[ @acecampbellbower @angelst4re ]
You,jace,Isabelle,Alec and clary walk into the institute, your body’s sweating and on the edge of just falling onto the floor and fall asleep.
“I’ll be in the shower, see you guys tomorrow” you didn’t had time to answer and Isabelle followed by Alec were gone, leaving you, jace and clary.
“I’m going into the greenhouse for like a few hours”and so was clary gone too.
Now it was only you and jace standing there in the hallway, half awake, half tired, craving for the shower and the bed at the same time.
“C’mon,why don’t we take a shower hm?”
“Please,I feel like I fell in mud”
———
You both had undressed in the bathroom before stepping into the shower, your back against jace’s front as water fell all over you.
“So,I had talked to Isabelle this morning and she said we would go shopping again” you said as you turned to your boyfriend, your Arms over his shoulders and his hands on your waist.
“That’s good, right?”you had a smirk in your face.
“Andddd you’re coming with us” you then said, your smirk growing as jace only looked at you.
“Do I have to?”
“Of course you have to! We dont spend time together outside the institute that much, you cant only go out to kill demons, you also have to enjoy your life”
“Hmm”jace rested his chin on your head as he holds you close as the water fell over you two, enjoying the closeness.
———
You and Jace had gone out of the shower with only towels on you as jace suddenly came from behind you and had spin you around to face him as he wasted no time to press his lips against yours.
Your hand came up to his hair, pulling him closer which lead your towel to fall down, being now fully exposed to jace.
Jace slowly walked forward as you hit the bed making you fall on it as jace hovered over you, leaving kisses all over your neck.
You let out a moan as he found a soft spot on your neck, sucking on it as your hands came down to remove his towel from his waist.
You buck your hips to jace’s as he immediately pulls your hips down again.” Needy huh?”
“Please” you moaned again as his lips found its way to your neck again.
“Please what, c’mon angel tell me what you want” he whispered as jace grabbed both your wrists, pinning them obove your head, his lips still kissing your neck.
“Fuck me, please, needed you all day” you whisper as jace smirked, not giving you any warning before thrusting into you all the way in which causes you to let out a moan.
“Oh..fuck jace…”his lips were again on your neck, sucking on the skin as he didn’t gave you time to adjust his size when he started to move in and out of your pussy.
You closed your eyes from all the pleasure jace is giving you as you continued to let out loud moans.
Jace had grabbed your chin making sure you open your eyes as they Met His.”keep your eyes open Angel ,look at me when I’m fucking you”he whispers as he presses his lips against yours meanwhile thrusting into you again making you moan out loud again against his lips.
“That’s it,be loud, let the others hear who’s fucking you so good hm..”your hands bring buried in His Hair as he snaps his hips hard against yours.
“You gonna cum? Hm come one make a mess in my cock, show me how much you love it”and so you do,cuming on his cock, you also felt jace filling you up,leaning his forehead against yours.
“Are You okay?”he asks.
“Mhm”You Were both trying to control your breathing as jace slowly pulled out of you.
“C’mon let’s take a bath together okay?”

surviving and living, a thin line
@indigothemuse, because i finally remembered i have a taglist (you). is max lightwood technically dead? yes. will i listen to canon? fucking never
summary: Surviving is all Jace needs. All anyone ever said he needs. But life creeps in, who is he to stop it?
Surviving. It’s what Shadowhunters do, what they learn to do as children and are expected to do until they don’t. Survive, survive, survive.
But nobody ever says anything about living. Or Jace just didn’t hear anything if they did. So he learns his runes, his weapons, the languages, the democracy, the strategy. Survive, survive, survive. That’s all he ever hears.
Life was an afterthought, something he didn’t really need. What needed was to survive, and one doesn’t need to live to survive. So he didn’t. He survived in broken bones, bleeding knuckles, chipped teeth, healing runes. Survive, survive, survive. That’s all he ever does.
Nightmares wake him up stifling screams, dry heaving, heart pounding, fingernails digging in. He dealt with it, living off caffeine and desperation at the age of ten. Maryse and Robert never wonder who’s drinking the cups missing from the pot. Getting better is living, and that’s not what Jace has to do, and Jace only has to survive. Survive, survive, survive.
He becomes parabatai with Alec, the rune heavy on the inside of his wrist. It’s about survival. A parabatai is a promise of safety in the field, it’s a vow of your back being watched and an extension of yourself in another. It’s survival. It’s a battle. It’s war. Survive, survive, survive.
Max is there, following Jace. He wants to learn, but not to survive. Because he wants to live. Jace doesn’t understand, yet finds himself teaching Max anyway, giving Max the toy soldier, the only thing left from his father. It’s about survival, he tells himself, when Max is old he will be another watching my back. Survive, survive, survive. That’s what he tells himself.
Izzy teaches him how to dress, how to do makeup, how to dye hair. He tells himself it’s survival, if he needs to hide he can, change his appearance in a moment. But Izzy laughs and maybe he smiles, and maybe it’s for real. No, it’s gaining her trust. It’s survival, another pair of eyes who are trained on his back. Survive, survive, survive.
Clary and Simon come along. Clary’s angry, Simon’s a wonder. They’re both laughing and neither of them are of any use to him. But then Clary can make runes and she brings Simon along. It’s about survival, not the growth in his heart when Clary smiles or Simon laughs. Survive, survive, survive.
His father’s alive, really alive and really not Michael Wayland. Valentine. Valentine Morgenstern, Jace Morgenstern, Clary Morgenstern. One survives, two live. Jace tries to escape, tries to kill Valentine. It’s about survival, he tells himself. With Valentine alive, he’ll never survive. But the bile rising in his throat when the man smiles isn’t about survival. He swallows it down. Survive, survive, survive. That’s all this is about.
There’s something odd about Simon. In the way he smiles, laughs, talks, moves, dances, sings, yells, screams, cries. In the way he wakes up screaming, crying, checking for a pulse he can’t feel. There’s a fire behind all of it, a fire that’s not just survival. It’s living. Survive, survive, survive. That’s what Jace wants to do, right?
Magnus drags him out of the gym, a quick healing spell on the knuckles he has never wrapped. There’s not mention of Alec, who always tries to get Jace out. He gets Jace a new wardrobe, makeup of his own, a dye job so good it looks real. The pink looks odd, leaving a flutter in Jace’s heart, tears stuck in his throat, a hug on his arms, dancing in his fingers. He doesn’t. That’s not survival, so Jace pushes it down but he knows Magnus saw that smile. Survive, survive, survive. Is that all he’s doing?
Maia and Simon drag him to Simon’s apartment, putting on a movie they call a slasher, telling him he hasn’t seen a movie until he’s watched a two star horror movie. They laugh and talk the whole time. Jace lets a small laugh out, and maybe his fingers dance a bit. Maia and Simon don’t just survive, not like him. Survive, survive, survive. Maybe he wants more.
Alec and Izzy are there at his next nightmare, where he let himself scream when he woke. They hold him, rub where his fingernails dug in, putting on Batman band-aids Clary bought for Max. He cries into Alec’s shoulder, holds Izzy’s hand, doesn’t talk about the things he saw, and they don’t need him to. Max joins, silent as he joins in, tapping out I-T-S O-K-A-Y in the morse code Jace taught him. This isn’t survival, but Jace does it anyway. And maybe he does it over and over again. Survive, survive, live.
He sits down with Simon, teaching him piano with all the gentle touch and words he didn’t get. Simon messes up, Jace puts his fingers on the right keys, the ache of a snap fading in his own. Simon sees the tears gathering on his brass eyelashes, he waits, cries along with Jace when he talks about what happened in that Manor for the first time. Survive, survive, live.
Game night at Magnus’. The first one Jace goes to. They welcome him with cheers and smiles, act like he’s always come. No touches are given, and maybe for the first time in a long time he would accept them without a flinch first. When Raphael wins Monopoly, he gives Jace a smile and there’s that flutter in his heart that means not-just-survival. Survive, live, live.
Alec, Izzy, and Max listen as Jace talks. Voice cracking, tears falling, fingernails kept from digger by Lightwood hands, body aching with bruises long gone. They apologize for things done by a man so hardly a man. They promise safety. They say wipe away tears and hold him once they make sure it’s allowed. Survive, live, live.
Tessa and Jem tell him stories about Will, hearts aching with bittersweet love lost. Jace feels family grow. Aunt Tess, Uncle Jem. Not blood, but water is better anyway. To hell with the thick red running in his veins, Aunt Tess, Uncle Jem, little Mina, cousin Kit, whose more brother than cousin. Only Kit is blood, but no better than any of the rest. Survive, live, live.
Simon and Maia laugh over a Player’s Handbook he doesn’t really understand. Green dice, numbered in gold are rolled. A sheet of paper is filled, and they help him all the way through creating a character. They teach him the rules, show him what to do. He feels warmth grow up from his stomach when they listen to him talk about the weapons in their game, explain how they work, where they’re from. When his fingers dance, Simon and Maia smiles and Jace realizes his finger dance is Simon’s rock, Maia’s hand flap. Survive, live, live.
Alec, Izzy, and Max laugh with Jace over too much food ordered at Taki’s. Jace smiles, laughs, talks, fingers dancing when they listen to him talk about Shakespeare. He explains the tragedy of Hamlet, and the jokes they speak are never about him. Max sees his fingers dance and tells Jace how he likes to bounce. Alec and Izzy smiles and know, never mock or try to stop. This isn’t survival, and it’s better than just that. Live, live, live.
Maia and Simon ask him to a movie at Simon’s apartment. Food is tossed into mouths, Jace’s fingers dance, Simon rocks on the balls of his feet, Maia’s hands flap. Maia lays her head on Simon’s lap, asks to put her feet in Jace’s. A yes is said, and he means it. Hesitation when kisses are asked next, they don’t. Simon and Maia don’t ask again. The next week another movie, Simon curled against Maia, hand entwined with Jace. Kisses are asked for, and this time Jace knows he wants it. They make sure, he is. Live, live, live.
Magnus takes him shopping again, Aunt Tess and Uncle Jem come to. Jem tells him about violin, offers Jace lessons when interest is shown. Magnus knows a place, just like he always does. Aunt Tess shows him her favorite books, Jace shows her his. Magnus buys them, shaking off offers to pay him back with laughs and it’s no problem. Live, live, live.
Shadowhunters are taught to survive, nobody talks about living. But Jace won’t just survive anymore. He’ll live. He’ll heal, even if the nightmares don’t go away, even if unwelcome touch still causes a flinch. Live, live, live. A lesson he had to learn, but a welcome one.
Live, live, live. What is survival without the life behind it? Live, live, live. That is what Jace will do.

Distractions - Jace Herondale x Female Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Jace comes back from a mission and well… you just can’t hold back anymore
Words: 1.6k
Warnings: none really
Y/N’s POV
I tighten my grip on the training blade as Izzy and I circle each other in the main training room. The sound of wood meeting wood echoes off the glass walls, our movements precise and calculated. We’ve been at this for hours, Izzy trying to improve my combat skills as it’s my weakness in the field.
Izzy’s staff whistles through the air as she makes a sudden move towards me, aiming for my head. Instinct kicks in, and I duck just in time, the staff whizzing pasting me. Without hesitation, I roll to the side, narrowly avoiding another strike, and rise to my feet in one fluid motion.  As Izzy turns to face me, I seize the opportunity to counterattack, With a swift movement, I bring the hilt of my wooden sword down on her back, the impact reverberating through my arm. Izzy grunts in surprise, but she recovers quickly, spinning around to face me with renewed determination.
We lock eyes, both of us back in fighting stances, ready to continue our sparring match. But before we can make another move, the doors to the Institute swing open, revealing Alec and Jace. They’re both sweaty and have splatters of probably not their blood on them, their gear clinking softly as they stride into the room.
My breath catches as I see Jace. His golden hair is tousled, a few strands clinging to his forehead with sweat. His eyes, piercing shades of blue and brown with his partial heterochromia, hold an intensity that sends a shiver down my spine. Despite the grime and exhaustion of battle, there’s an undeniable magnetism about him that draws me in every time.
Before I can dwell on the way he makes me feel, my thoughts are cut short by the sudden sensation of my feeling being swept out from under me. Izzy’s staff connects with precision, sending me crashing to the ground with a thud. The impact knocks the wind out of me, leaving me momentarily stunned, a groan escaping my lips as I try to remember how to breathe.
Izzy’s laughter rings out, a melodic sound amidst the clatter of our training. She saunters over, her grin mischievous as she extends a hand towards me, “Looks like you need a breather, Y/N,” she says teasingly, her eyes twinkling with amusement.
I accept her hand gratefully, allowing her to pull me back to my feet. As I dust myself off, Izzy's expression softens, a knowing look in her eyes. "You should go find Jace," she says casually, though there's a hint of a smirk playing on her lips. "I think that's enough training for today.”
A blush creeps onto my cheeks, betraying the truth behind Izzy's words. Of course, she knows about my crush on Jace. It's hard to keep anything from her, especially when we've been friends for so long.
I manage a sheepish smile, grateful for Izzy's understanding. "Thanks, Izzy," I mumble, my voice barely above a whisper. She just winks at me playfully before turning to leave the training room, leaving me alone with my thoughts. As I gather my belongings, I can't shake the feeling of embarrassment that lingers in the air. But beneath it all, there's a glimmer of excitement at the prospect of seeing Jace again.
I gather my belongings, my mind still buzzing with the remnants of embarrassment and anticipation. With a determined breath, I head out of the training room and down the familiar corridors of the Institute. Each step feels weighted with both nerves and excitement as I make my way to Jace's room.
Finally arriving at his door, I raise a hand to knock, the sound echoing softly in the hallway. Before I can second-guess myself, I hear Jace's voice from inside, muffled but unmistakable. "Come in.”
Heart pounding with a mixture of nerves and excitement, I push open the door and step inside Jace’s room. The familiar scent of sandalwood and leather greets me as I enter, enveloping me in a sense of comfort amidst the flutter of anticipation. As I step further into the room, my expectations are upended. Instead of finding Jace seated on his bed or leaning against the windowsill as I had imagined, he stands by his chest of drawers, his back to me as he rummages through its contents.
For a moment, I freeze in place, my breath catching in my throat as I take in the sight before me. The soft glow of sunlight filtering through the window casts a warm halo around Jace, illuminating every every line and curve of his form. His broad shoulders taper down to a narrow waist, the muscles of his back rippling under his sweat-shiny skin.
As if sensing me staring, Jace turns to face me, a crooked smile curving his plump lips. My eyes widen as I drink in the sight before me, hearing Jace speak but not being able to process the words he’s saying. The light plays across his defined abs, casting shadows that only serve to accentuate their contours. Each ripple of muscle seems chiseled with precision, a testament to his strength and agility as a Shadowhunter.
But it’s not just his upper body that commands my attention. My gaze drifting lower, tracing the lines of his abs and down to the tantalising glimpse of skin revealed by his low-hanging jeans. The beginnings of a dark trail of hair disappear beneath the waistband, teasing my imagination with promises of what lies beneath.
I feel my cheeks flush with heat as I struggle to find my voice or drag my eyes away from the mouthwatering view before me as he makes his way across the room, voice low and husky as he speaks, “Hey Y/N, need something?”
I clear my throat, forcing myself to look away from that happy trail to his face, “Uh, I just wanted to see how you were doing after the mission, you seemed a little bloodied up.” I manage to chose out, my voice coming out a little more breathless than intended.
Jace’s smile widens, and he takes a step closer, closing the distance between us, “I’m doing okay,” He replies, gaze never leaving mine, “But I’m glad you’re here.”
His words send a shiver down my spine, igniting a fire within me that I can’t seem to extinguish. Before I can even process what’s happening, Jace’s fingers trail gently down my left arm from my elbow, sending electric pulses coursing through my veins. My breath hitches as he takes ahold of my hand in his larger, more calloused ones.
Every touch sends a jolt of heat through me, leaving me feeling flustered and off balance. And when he uses his hold of my hand to pull me flush against him, I can’t help but let out a soft gasp of surprise. His right hand lands on the small of my back, his touch sending a wave of warmth flooding though me.
Our faces are mere inches apart now, the air thick with unspoken tension. I can feel the heat of his breath against my skin, sending my heart racing even faster. In this moment, there’s no room for doubt or hesitation, only the raw, unbridled desire that course through us both.
As if sensing the urgency in the air, Jace releases my hand to cup my cheek, his touch sending a jolt of electricity through me. His thumb brushes gently over my bottom lip, a silent question in his eyes as he searches mine for any signs of hesitation. I meet his gaze, my own filled with a mixture of longing and anticipation. And then, without another word, he ducks down and presses his lips to mine in a kiss that steals the air form my lungs.
The kiss is gentle yet urgent, a silent declaration of all the emotions we’ve kept hidden for so long. I melt into him, hands finding their way to his chest, feeling the firm muscles under my hands.
Every touch, every sensation is magnified in this moment of pure connection. His lips taste of warmth and desire, a heady mix that leaves me dizzy with need. And as he deepens the kiss, his tongue tracing the seam of my lips, I can’t help but lose myself in the sensation of him.
His hands roam over my body, turning the embers of a fire into a full-blown blaze that threatens to consume both of us. With each touch, each caress, the intensity between us grows until it's almost unbearable. And as our kiss grows more fervent, more desperate, I feel Jace walk me backwards until my back hits the solid wall and he's crowding me, his presence overwhelming and intoxicating.
I feel myself drawing him even closer to me, the space between us vanishing until there's no room for anything else but us. His hands wander under my shirt, their touch searing against my bare skin. The sensation sends shockwaves of pleasure coursing through me, setting every nerve ending ablaze with desire.
A soft moan slips from my lips as his touch becomes more urgent, more possessive. His hands seem to know every inch of my body, mapping out every curve and contour with a precision that leaves me breathless. And as he presses his body against mine, I can feel the heat of him seeping into my skin, melding us together until we're no longer two separate entities but one.
In this moment, there's no past, no future, only the overwhelming intensity of our shared desire. And as Jace's lips find mine once more, I surrender completely to the flames of passion that engulf us both, knowing that with him, I've found something worth fighting for.

Hello! ✨
It’s me again! Hehe would you be able to do a Jace one where reader is living at the institution and has known the group since they were little and reader is dating a guy who laid hands on her then one night she comes back to the institution sneaking in at night and Jace finds her with bruises and is mad ready to go look for the guy to where Jace and reader get into a spat about it but she’s only been dating other people to distract herself from loving Jace all these years because he doesn’t do love but in the end loves her.
Hope all is well! Xoxo 🤍
hi my love!!! ahhh jace is one of my favourite characters to write for and especially soft jace <3 he has my whole heart!!!
Tumblr media
Just Pretend- Jace Wayland/Herondale x Reader
summary: you've liked jace for years, but you never wanted to accept it, so you would date other people to take your mind off of him. however, one night you come home late, and jace finds out everything.
warnings: mentions of a violent relationship, but nothing too graphic
notes: yes, the title is supposed to be a bad omens reference :) also, i was thinking of writing a part 2 to this, but i'm currently working on 2 other fics right now AND part 2's to three other stories!! but that won't stop me <3
Two years, six months and four days. That is how long you have been lying to yourself. That is how long you’ve been dating Jack, a guy you met at the bar. You found it easy in the first year, projecting your feelings towards Jace onto him, but lately things have been changing. Jack’s been getting suspicious about you and Jace, and when he feels this way he is easily angered and will throw things around, taking his anger out around his apartment- until tonight, where he laid his hands on you.
The reason for it was because you were just over five minutes late to your date that evening, and he believed you were spending your time with Jace instead. But that was silly, Jace hated you. You felt as if he hated you from the moment you walked into the Institute, with nowhere else to go, nowhere else to call home.
Jace would ignore you, give you looks from across the room, it was as if your presence bothered him. But you still had feelings for him.
Jace is stunningly attractive, it’s not a lie. But that isn’t why you felt this way for him. One night, only months after moving into the Institute, you had a nightmare. With nowhere else to go, you went to the greenhouse, and Jace was the only other person there as it was late. You hadn’t talked to him much before, but you sat by him that night and he asked if you were okay, seeing the tears stain your cheeks. You told him about your nightmare, and he comforted you, telling you he often has nightmares too. That night was the only time in all the years that you’ve known Jace, that you’ve had a proper conversation. He opened up about himself that night, and was vulnerable with you, and so you guessed that’s the reason why he avoids you now. Or at least that’s what you hoped was the reason.
It was late by the time you got back to the Institute, and you moved around quietly to ensure you wouldn’t wake anybody up. However, when you got to the top of the stairs, there was a shadow at the other end of the hallway. A shadow you easily recognised.
“Jace?” You whisper-yelled, and he came into your sight.
“Do you know what time it is?” He asked, seeming quite pissed off.
“I don’t know… 11?”
“It’s 2am, y/n. You know the rules. Home by 10.” He says, as he walks closer to you.
You watch his face as his eyes scan you. From the mascara running down your cheeks, your hair- wet and tangled from the rain- and then…
“What the fuck is that on your arm?” He asked, panic lacing his voice as he grasped your forearm, making you wince, “are these bruises?”
“Yeah, uh-” you cleared your throat, wracking your brain for a coverup story, “I got in a fight… at the bar… with um, a girl.” Your voice smaller and smaller as you lied to his face.
“Bullshit. He did this to you, didn’t he?”
“No! I-”
“Stop fucking lying to me, y/n!” He raised his voice, his eyes glossy with tears, but also filled with anger.
You couldn’t hold the tears back any longer. Tears you’ve been holding back for weeks now. As they spill from your eyes, you wrap your arms around Jace involuntarily, expecting him to pull away.
But he doesn’t.
He comforts you, gently stroking your back as he rests his chin on the top of your head.
“How long has this been going on?” He asks softly, pulling back from you slowly.
“Can we sit down… it’s a long story.”
───── ⋆⋅☆⋅⋆ ─────
You explain to Jace that Jack believed you were cheating on him, but where he was wrong in one aspect, he was right in believing you had feelings for Jace. You told him the truth, and didn’t hold anything back from him. You told him exactly how you felt, and by the way his face softened, his body language changed and his attitude switched, you could tell he had something to tell you too.
“I’m sorry,” he says, leaning towards you to place his hand on your knee, to which you flinch away from, “I’m really sorry. I’ve acted like such a dick towards you, and it’s not your fault, okay? I just… didn’t want to accept the way I felt. I love you too, more than you think. I’m just scared, I find it difficult opening up to people, and when I met you I felt so… comfortable around you. I felt like such an idiot for it, and I hate myself for treating you this way. If only I told you then-”
“It’s okay, Jace.” You said, placing your hand on his, “you couldn’t have known.”
You hugged him once more, and as you pulled away he noticed blood running down your leg. You explained to him that Jack had pushed you, and you tripped over. Jace rose to his feet and took your hand, leading you to his bathroom where he pulled out a first aid box.
He took his time cleaning the wound as you sat on his bed. He was ever so gentle as he wiped the alcohol pad over your skin, holding your hand with his unoccupied one. You squeezed his hand tightly as the pain ran through your veins.
“You’re doing such a good job, sweetheart,” he told you, “it’s almost done.”
He bandaged up the wound with care, and placed a tender kiss over the bandage on your thigh, his eyes meeting yours as his lips met the material. You felt butterflies swarm your stomach, and blushed as he stood back up.
“How does it feel?” He asks as you stand back up.
“As good as it can.” You tell him, putting on a smile.
“Good.” He smiles, placing his hand on your back, “let’s get you to bed, now. We can talk more in the morning.”
As Jace walked you to your room you couldn’t help but worry that he would turn back into his old ways in the morning. Sure, he said you could talk about it more in the morning, but would he be feeling the same way in the morning? Or would he change his mind?
As you reached out your hand to open the door to your room, Jace got there first. You felt your cheeks redden again as your hand lingered over his. You couldn’t help but notice how soft his hands felt, despite the marks, scars and wounds they held.
He opened the door for you and gestured for you to step inside. You switched on the light as you entered, expecting Jace to follow behind you, but he didn’t. He stayed at the door.
“Goodnight, y/n.” He said, a soft smile on his lips, “you know where my room is if you need me, if you can’t sleep or…” He trailed off as he slowly stepped closer to you, eyelids falling shut as he placed a kiss on your forehead.
He looked down at you through half-lidded eyes, his fingers running through your damp hair.
“Sweet dreams.” Was the last thing he said before leaving, returning to his own room. You were so caught up in the moment that you hadn’t processed his departure. You wished you could’ve asked him to stay longer, to perhaps even stay in your room tonight. But it was too late. We can talk tomorrow, he said. You held onto the hope that he meant what he said, and that he would go through with it. You really hoped.

The bed was nice and comfortable this particular morning. A little too comfortable. But you don’t think that was because of the bed.
A hand was rubbing up and down your back. Soothing you and relaxing your posture. You don’t think you could’ve cared if a demon had burst through the door at that very moment.
“I was wondering when you would finally wake up.” The blonde said
“The beds comfortable.” You replied in a whisper
“You mean my bed is comfortable.”
You looked around the room in confusion. Sure enough you were in Jaces room.
Your brain scanned for memories of last night.
“What happened?” You asked turning around to face him.
Jace was propped up on his elbow, his face in his palm as he looked down on you.
“We nearly got killed by a demon. We got back to the institute and ordered some dinner, you crashed after dinner. Typical night.” Jace shrugged
You nodded, half awake. A yawn left your mouth.
“So,” you began, “what’s for breakfast?”
Jace smiled, an easy, soft smile. Not like the sharp sarcastic ones he often gave others. These smiles were reserved for only when it was the two of you.
“Well, Alec’s at the old warlocks, Izzy went out with fangs, and Clary’s at the abandoned police station, meeting with some werewolves. Something apparently happened last weekend that we needed to be bothered about so Clary went to check it out. So we could order in or-”
“Should we have sent someone with her?” You asked
“Her dads there of course. Besides, Clary can hold her own.”
You hummed in agreement, Clary might be small but she is one feisty girl. Especially when you beat her at a board game while drunk.
Jace cleared his throat teasingly, “As I was saying we could order something or I could make something.”
You raised your eyebrows, “You can cook?”
“And bake.” Jace added, seemingly not at all offended by his partner's words.
“Since when?”
“Since forever. My father wanted me to be very diverse in my skills, that includes culinary arts.” He stopped for a moment, “And how to sing the entire abc’s in fifteen seconds.”
You were going to comment on that but Jace sat up, and you closed your mouth.
“Shall we?” He held out his hand for you
You chuckled and took his hand, “I suppose we shall.”
—————————
The kitchen was reasonably enormous. With the amount of rooms the institute held it only made for the kitchen to be such an extended space.
Jace let go of your hand and went over the fridge.
When you saw him eyeing the leftovers you spoke up, “I thought you were supposed to be showing off your excellent chef skills.”
Jace looked towards, amused, “I am, but that doesn’t mean I can’t think about lunch in the process.”
You rolled your eyes but smiled nonetheless.
Jace looked at the fridge, deep in the thought, then he grinned.
You raised your eyebrows, “What’s that look?”
Jace looked at you, “What look?”
You point at him, “That one. It makes me nervous.”
He smirked, “I make you nervous?”
“Wha- You know what I mean.” You said
His smirk didn’t fade, “Of course I do.”
You watched him as he walked to the cabinets and began searching through them.
He glanced back at you, “Make yourself comfortable, darling. Perfection takes time.”
——————————
You lost track of the time. You mostly talked to Jace while he worked. Jace was a good multi-tasker. He told you some old stories (some you were sure he made up) as he continued his work.
Like fighting, Jace moved smoothly throughout the kitchen. Never knocking anything over, or burning himself, or stopping to make sure he had added the right thing into the pan. You were a little jealous.
“Go sit at the table.” Jace said
Twenty minutes later he brought over a tray of food. You felt a bit like royalty in that moment.
The food looked amazing, you had believed him when he said he could cook and bake but you were very pleasantly surprised.
If it looked amazing, it certainly smelled even better.
The tray was full of the kind of food you’d see in a movie. There was a mixture of fruits, fluffy pancakes, a little cup full of syrup, another of chocolate chips. It even had a little cup full of your favorite candy. There was chocolate syrup in another cup.
Jace leaned over you with a whipped cream can in hand and made a little swirl on top of your pancakes. He gave you a kiss on the cheek as well.
You looked up at him, jaw dropped. He only smirked in return, validated by your expression.
“Wow, Jace, this is…amazing.” You said for a lack of a better word.
“I told you.” He said
He took a couple of the mixed fruits from your plate and popped them into his mouth.
You raised an eyebrow at him, but he only took another, keeping eye contact with you the entire time.
“Now,” He pushed the tray towards you, “try it so you can tell me more about how jaw dropping I am.”
“I did not say jaw dropping.” You said
His smirk was still ever so present, “You didn’t have to, darling.”
You cast one more glare towards him before adding what you wanted to your pancakes and taking a bite.
It was really good.
You couldn’t help but moan in delight.
“I take it I am as good as I know I am.” Jace said
“I admit, this is really fantastic.” You said
“Fantastic, hm? I like that.” He said, “Since I made it I suppose it’s only fair if I try it, right?”
You shrugged, he had made a lot of food.
You expected him to take the fork and dig into the pancakes, not to pull you into his lap and kiss you.
He swallowed your gasp of surprise, passionately kissing you until you couldn’t remember the taste of the food.
When he pulled back, you were confused.
He looked at you in thought before saying, “My food is fantastic.”
But the look in his eyes told you he didn’t care at all for the food.
His hands that rested on your hips pulled your lips back to his.
The leftovers from breakfast were put in the fridge for later.

I’m already high enough || Jamie bower x fem!reader
Tumblr media
Summary: while you and Jamie go through a breakup, you’re having a one night stand with your best friend after smoking together.
Warnings: smut!, cigarette, drinking
Extras: got this idea while listening to “high enough”, use of y/n
4am
You and Jamie were sat on his bed, smoking with an alcohol bottle in his hand.
Today you both had found out that jamie’s (now ex ) girlfriend had cheated on him with your boyfriend and broke up with him, and your (ex) boyfriend with you,so you went over to Jamie’s house to spend a little time with each other which lead you to grabbing a cigarettes and a bottle of alcohol.
You were both drunk but not too drunk so you still could think straight.
Jamie took a sip out of the bottle before passing it over to you as you also took a sip of.
“We shouldn’t be doing this, I have work tomorrow “ you mumbled as you took another sip of the alcohol bottle when you realised Jamie tricked you as the bottle was empty.
“Not funny” you Said when you looked at a laughing Jamie.
“Come on,It was a little funny” you rolled your eyes but couldn’t help your little smile.
After calming down from all the laughing, you both just sat there as your cigarettes were already off, staring at the door in front of you as Jamie broke the silence.
“Y/n?” You turned your head to look at him.
“Yeah?” Jamie hesitated for a second before he grabbed you by your waist and sat you down on his lap, his hands still remaining on your waist.
“What are you doing?” You whisper as Jamie’s eyes switch between your eyes and lips.
“One night won’t ruin our friendship right?” He whispers back as your and jamie’s lip’s brushed against each other.
You didn’t answered, instead you slowly placed your lips on his, connecting them in a sloppy kiss after Jamie kissed you back.
After a while Jamie began to kiss you harder and his hand flew up to you neck, pulling you impossible closer to him as his other hand wrapped around your waist pushing your hips closer against his when you felt his bulge against your clothed pussy, making you moan against his lips which Jamie returned with a smirk without breaking the kiss.
“Please” you moan as Jamie continued to move his hips, creating a friction between you two.
“Please what? Tell me, what do you want, love” Jamie knew what you wanted, he just needed you to confirm it.
“Fuck me…please” You moan goes right into Jamie’s ear as your head fell onto jamie’s shoulders while Jamie rocked your hips with help of his hands.
“Anything you want..” Jamie flipped you over as he took of his shirt while you unclipped your bra which you just tossed on the floor, followed by Jamie’s and yours shirt, leaving you both only in pants.
You and Jamie looked at each other, smirking before pulling him down and smash his lips against yours while your hands went to his belt and undo it.
Everything went so fast when you both were suddenly naked as Jamie put up the covers half way up his body as it was still cold in the room.
Jamie grabbed both your hands and put them above your head.
“These stay here you understand?” He said as you nod as a response.
Jamie spread your legs wider as he he took his cock in his hands and spread his Precum on your entrance , feeling the wetness he had created on you.
He lined himself up with your hole so that he could easily slip inside you any time, as he does so,unexpectedly and hard, a scream followed by his name left your mouth as he was fully inside your. Chest against chest, his lips on your neck again, sucking on the soft skin as he he gave you time to adjust his size.
“Good Girl, taking me so well, you ready?” He whispers into your ear.
“Yes please..” you moaned. Jamie pulled out until only the tip of his cock was inside you before thrusting all the way in again.
“Fuck- Jamie!” You wrapped your legs around his waist as one of his hands were placed on your hip, lifting them a little to go deeper, while the other hand is around your throat as his lips found your soft spot in the soft skin, creating marks on it.
You felt yourself clench around his cock as his thrust begin to get faster and harder, going impossible deeper with each thrust into you.
“Are you close love? yeah me too just hold it a little yeah? God you feel so good..” his hands let go off your body and instead interlocked them with your hands and crashed his lips against yours again, moving them in the same rhythm as his hips.
Jamie had to break the kiss as he felt himself twitch inside you, mixed with the feeling of you clenching around him as he suddenly began spilling his warm cum inside you, mixed with yours as you came a few moments later too.
After a while you opened your eyes, looking directly in his as he had a smirk on his face, which told you this was going to be a long night.
