Years of trauma, heavy drinking, and hard drugs fragmented a lot of Rayman/Ramon's memories. He doesn't have very many left of Dimension X. He has trouble trying to remember what his own parents looked like.

The only person he really remembers from Dimension X was Globox. Rayman/Ramon assumed he died back in Dimension X.

He has to rely on pictures and stories to help jog the memory.

He latches onto Bullfrog as a friend after the rescue because of how much he reminds Rayman/Ramon of Globox. Bullfrog was hesitant on befriending Rayman/Ramon at first, but they did eventually bond. Rayman/Ramon and Bullfrog becoming close allies and friends.

I just realised something about Laserhawk Rayman which I've been saying about Rayman for DECADES.

So what is Rayman's defining goal which powers him throughout all his games? It's gonna sound corny, but it's FRIENDSHIP.

And you'll say 'oh that's not uncommon, most videogame protags do stuff for the sake of their friends', but it's kinda more than that.

Rayman LIVES AND BREATHES through the love and support of his friends.

Rayman is a strange little freak guy, one of a kind even amongst his own species*, and instead of being shunned and alone he is held up and supported by his friends and propelled forward by the power of friendship. This is more of a driving force in his life than a romantic interest, a prized possession, or any kind of praise.

(*I still use the logic of Rayman 1 that other limbless beings like Rayman exist but were not created by magic. Hence why Rayman has immortality)

On the surface you have his friendship with Globox as a clear example of his devotion. Despite their differences the two are like brothers and bond through various games in different ways. saving and being saved by Globox is a big part of Rayman 2. Curing Globox of Andre is literally the driving force of Rayman 3.

When Rayman is trapped by the pirates at the start of Rayman 2 he is absolutely distraught, powerless and unable to escape on his own. Without Globox risking his life on the vague chance he'd get put in a cell near Rayman to give him a silver lum, Rayman might never have escaped the Buccaneer. Rayman's friendship with Globox trumped Globox's absolute fear of the pirates.

Rayman's friends are always the ones giving him support and gifts and powers to help him save the day, not in a 'you suck lets hold your hand as you go through the game' way but in a 'we have absolute faith in you, friend, anything we can do to help we will!' way. And in turn Rayman returns that love through his actions and compassion. Rayman is who he is because of the love and acceptance of his friends. Hence why he is always seen relaxing with them, chilling with Globox and Barbara and Murfy and the Teensies.

And it's Rayman's willingness to befriend others and turn the other cheek that betters him overall. Mosquito, Inspector Grub, the Rabbids, they have all been part of his journey despite being antagonistic to him at the start.

When Rayman is separated from his friends, or unable to make new friendships, he kinda falls apart and struggles by himself. He gets lonely, realises how small he is in the world. If he doesn't have a focus to find his friends and help them he is lost.

Which makes perfect sense when you see a version of him in Laserhawk.

Rayman is the most popular mascot in Eden but HE DOESN'T HAVE FRIENDS.

The closest connection he has is to the Counsel who run Eden and even they keep him at arm's length from what we see in the show. They are not his friends, they are his abusive, neglectful bosses that dropped him the minute he stepped out of line, and without them Rayman has NO ONE ELSE in the city he can rely on.

No wonder he's a complete mess even before the show starts. He has no one to confide his fears in, no one who understands his unique perspective. He probably has yes-men and people willing to lie about how great he is, not to mention adoring viewers and a whole fanclub of kids, but even Rayman knows that's fake. They are not his real friends. He's the picture of the lonely celebrity in an ivory tower.

You can see it in Rayman's face when he meets Bullfrog, and Bullfrog VALIDATES his feelings of betrayal and anger against Red and the Counsel. Finally he has someone showing him genuine compassion but also not mollycoddling him. Someone who is honest with him and not freaked out by/judgemental of how he looks. He's scared and angry, but there is a light at the end of the dark tunnel before him.

This and being replaced by Eden is the breaking point that causes Ray to become Ramon and fight back. He now has an end goal, take revenge on the Counsel and save Bullfrog from the electric chair. He has multiple reasons for doing this ranging from his belief in protecting hybrids in general to protecting his image to taking away some of Eden's power at gunpoint...but I also like to think he did it because he put his faith in Bullfrog.

Because as well as being one of the only people in Eden who might have an idea of what's going on behind the veil, he's probably the only person Rayman could consider a friend.

I’ve had this little idea for a while now , so I decided to finally sit and write it down !

You see , while I’m the biggest fan of anything regarding fluff I do enjoy a bit of angst sometimes too , so I ended up getting a rush of inspiration imagining the reader protecting the boys with them getting all worried afterwards :,I 

I’ll definitely start working on the requests I received as soon as I can by the way , I just like to post some personal works whenever I get inspired … also because I literally can’t stop it when that happens :,)

Anyway , hope this turned out okay ! 

Details : use of gender neutral reader ;

established relationships ; 

presence of blood , bullet wounds , occasional swearing and general angst with following fluff

Bullfrog 💚

As soon as he turns around and sees you drop on your knees , clutching the bleeding wound with a hiss of pain , Bullfrog immediately drops everything he’s doing and rushes towards you , ignoring the bullets flying in his direction :

he has to get you out of there … he has to do it fast … nothing else matters ��� 

His small but strong arms pick you and he carries you away from the raging battlefield , the sensation of your blood dripping on his hands filling him with fear …

No matter what the Warden will have to say about this setback , the safety of his beloved is top priority .

When he finally puts you down after reaching a safe spot , Bullfrog can feel the crushing weight of his guilt taking over his every thought , enough to almost make him dizzy …

He knows full well that that bullet was meant for him . 

He should’ve noticed it sooner … why didn’t he notice it sooner ? 

Maybe then you wouldn’t have jumped forward to shield him …

This … this was all his fault . 

The sound of you coughing out blood is what makes Bullfrog snap back to reality .

< B … Bullfrog … ? > 

< Yes y/n , I’m here , I’m right here mon amour , you’re going to be okay , I promise … you just have to stay awake . > 

His voice sounds so soothing and sweet ( tough a bit raspy after his crazy escape ) , and while he begins to take off your coat to get a better look at the wound you can’t help but smile a little in front of his sheer devotion to you …

His movements are gentle but quick , and before you can even process what’s happening Bullfrog has already patched you up to prevent you from losing any more blood …

It’s now that the situation is under control that he brings it up . 

< You really shouldn’t have done that , y/n . If the bullet hit you someplace else with some more precision you could’ve died . > 

You look down at the floor of the alleyway you’re both currently hiding in , feeling his worried eyes on you .

< I … I’m sorry . I didn’t really think it through … 

I panicked : you were in danger and I didn’t want you to get hurt , I just … didn’t know what else to do … > 

Bullfrog’s gaze softens , and before you know it you feel his arms around you , holding you carefully to avoid hurting you more …

< I know , mon cher … you’re always looking out for me , and I love you so much for that reason alone , but please don’t ever do something like that ever again : 

je … je ne peux pas te perdre . > 

You gladly lean into his loving embrace , hugging him back as the pain brought by the wound in your waist disappears momentarily : 

you were just thankful to have Bullfrog by your side , and thankful for his endless love and care for you .

It takes some time for Rayman to realize that an unidentified man just tried to shoot him while the two of you were walking back home after that night’s date , and it’s when he hears your sharp breaths and sees your blood staining his shoes that he fully takes in what happened …

< Y/N !!! > 

He rushes towards you , panic taking over him as his shaky hands get a hold of you : 

you’re hurt … you’re hurt really bad , and it’s all because you protected him .

< Oh - oh g-god - ohmygod —

I can’t … I gotta - H-HELP !!! > 

It doesn’t take long for someone to notice what is going on , and before you know it you can hear the deafening noise coming from the sirens of the ambulance and the many police cars all around the street , as well as a familiar voice …

< Are they going to be okay ?? W-will they live ??? 

Please , they have to live … they have to … > 

Unfortunately you can’t bring yourself to listen further : soon the loss of blood makes you pass out , your blurry vision slowly fading to black as the last thing you feel is someone picking you up from the ground .

Rayman really isn’t handling what happened very well , and the days following the incident are absolutely awful for him …

He ends up drinking a lot more , unable to eat and let alone sleep , and whenever he receives the inevitable calls from the Board of Directors “inviting” him to pull himself together for his show’s sake , he completely loses it … 

< Don’t you understand ?? My . Partner . Got . FUCKING SHOT !!! 

I might never s-see them again , and you want me to “keep it together” ?!? > 

Whenever he stays up at night , waiting for any sorts of news about your condition from the hospital , Rayman can do nothing but silently pray that you’re going to be fine … that he will be able to hold you and kiss you again , and that it’s not all lost … 

… but deep down he really isn’t sure if that’s what’s going to happen , and that terrifies him more than anything .

Then finally , one morning he receives the awaited news : 

you’re alive , you’re feeling a lot better and , most importantly , you’re actually on your way to his lounge ( the last part being a little something you planned to surprise him ) . 

Rayman is overjoyed , and when he hears a knock on the door and sees your beautiful smile waiting for him behind it he can’t contain himself anymore …

< Oh y/n … y/n my love … I-I’m so glad you’re okay , I missed you so much ! > 

He hugs you tightly , sobbing next to your ear , and inevitably you end up crying too …

< I’m here Ray … I’m right here , I’m never leaving you again , I promise … > 

You let out a sigh when Rayman’s lips meet yours , locking them in a loving , passionate kiss …

The two of you really needed it , after everything that’s happened .

Oh boy is he enraged … 

After a moment of silent shock , he glares at that one member of the Board of Directors security that had the guts to harm his darling … 

< You … PIECE OF SHIT !!! > 

Without any regards at all for his safety he rushes towards the man , shooting at him multiple times … even after his dead body has long since hit the floor . 

It takes him a while to calm down , but after taking a few deep , shaky breath , Ramon finally rushes towards you , using his coat to stop the bullet wound from bleeding .

< Hiss - > 

< I know it hurts … but you’re gonna be okay love , just … just bear with me , okay … ? I got you … > 

You nod in response , a little smile appearing on your face as he leans down to kiss your forehead . 

After a few minutes , you start to feel less dizzy than before , and similarly to Bullfrog it’s only then that Ramon confronts you about what happened .

< Now … we really gotta talk about this , y/n , cause I am not about to lose the only person that gives me hope in this hell because they decide to shield me from a bullet without any regard for themselves and their safety . > 

< I … *cough* … I had to though , it would’ve hit y - > 

You can feel Ramon’s hands on your shoulders , and when you look up at him you can see a very serious expression on his face …

< y/n . I mean it . 

I need you to look at me and promise to never take a bullet for me again . 

I … I wouldn’t be able to go on if you were gone … do you understand … ? > 

Your quietly listen to him , your eyes never leaving his , and when you lean forward to give him a little kiss on the nose you hear him sigh softly …

< I won’t … I promise . 

I love you , Ram … sorry for making you worry . >

Ramon smiles in response , holding you closer to him while the sun sets behind the window , illuminating the two of you and the corpses of the Board of Directors around the room …

I know i haven't post much and there's a good reason for that...

I may or may not been obsessed with Casper lately...i think the Nasty Dog animation changed me

I understand people might not care all that much for an fan-oc of Captain Laserhawk (i hear you, i'll promise yall smth on the 1 anniversary for Captain Laserhawk) If you don't wanna hear more in depth of Casper, feel free to skip, i just wanna yap 🦊

I keep thinking about Casper and Rayman and them as a dymanic (because there's two technically types of dymanic, one that leans more in canon in Captain Laserhawk and the other leans purely self-indulgent and you could say also experimental with Casper's character that then can be apply to Casper's personality or backstory in general)

"Canon" dymanic: - This is basically completely going along within Captain Laserhawk series (as far as for season 1 at least...). Because of hybrids being treated mainly as slaves and lower class essentially, Casper didn't grew up well with siblings to care of and even his parents cuz they were always off trying to provide some food and because of that. Naturally Casper and his family do not like Rayman for sooo many reasons, purely in the fact that Rayman (pre-Ramon) is fed with propaganda and lies that Eden told him and Rayman has faith in them and so the lies spreads for decades. Casper is a lot more "depressed" if you will, he's still THE funny comedy guy, always taking things sarcastically and never personally or close to his heart (cuz also tehe his entire family basically abandoned him on streets, I still haven't figure out why). Casper does flirt with people and hook ups but it is coping mechanism to deal with loneliness and that people as much as love his jokes and comedies, they don't exactly like him either because talking with him ACTUALLY in person he just comes across asshole and little mean (or in case flirting, very forward or blunt) despite that's how Casper just used to talk like this. I still don't think Casper and Rayman would even be able to meet in any way, shape or form due to very different views and again...Casper openly dislikes Rayman. BUT BUT! They could TECHNICALLY meet for the first time when Rayman is now Ramon, not dealing well at all along with Bullfrog and Dolph, Casper seeing that Ramon's world view is shattered and now changed sides, Casper might struggle to trust Ramon but eventually warming up, maybe also joining along side Ramon, Bullfrog and Dolph (I know it sounds too basic but because I'm still holding up from developing too much in further to wait for SEASON 2 HOPEFULLY)

Self-indulgent dymanic: - As the name implied - this is only purely for me, having fun and doing shits with Casper and Rayman if theoretically they could be a couple and how it would affect. Casper is now OPENLY flirty with most people, same hook ups or one nighters (he's quite a freaky man..) and eventually...yeah it leads to on Rayman with Casper's flirty remarks. I just like to think just imagine Rayman at the bar, drinking some wine or something because he just needs a moment of peace in his own life from being constantly on live shows, the face of Eden, etc. and then random ass hybrid fox man comes in and say "Oh-ho Face of Eden's here ay? Well, y'know you lookin' quite extra spicy" with smirk, raising his eyebrows up and down. Rayman doesn't like Casper much, not because he's a hybrid since Rayman still cares of hybrids and kids despite been ignorant of what Eden did to them. Rayman just dislikes of Casper's constant flirty comments and annoyances, they did eventually become friends (they don't know how either) but they did. They didn't spend a lot of time together because Rayman is always on the clock with Eden's stuffs but whenever THEY DO hang out, like a long distant friend just came by in the town, both realizing they both have this ITCH of feeling...like wanting MORE of this every day, just spending with each other - ending up crushing on each other while both denying in any way. With Casper denying it is similar to "canon" dymanic, he can ACT romantically and all flirty with others, he used with hook ups and all but in ACTUALLY catching feelings feels completely different realm to him and bit uncertain because of fear of being just used as nothing as just "one time off" (his trauma wooo). While Rayman denying is more or less the same, Rayman isn't typically consider a man who goes on all the dates or in any committed relationships, maaybe once or twice but it always fall flat on the s.o wanting just be known as the "Rayman's Significant Other". They did ENDED UP confessing each other and doing their baby steps in relationship that felt...wrong but they try to ignore and while also healing themselves up with things they either struggled or with Casper's case - traumatized of which he learned to move over time, maybe never fully but no longer held back by it. I know this was VERY fucking long, I didn't even expected it to be THAT long, I'm sorry 😭

I Think It's Very Presumptuous For People To Say That Ramon In CLH Is Disrespectful To The Original When Both Characters Are Literally The Same Person Who Ended Up Going Through Different Lifes Experiences.

Let's Do A Little Character Analysis? ;)

First Of All Just Letting You Know That My Area Of Study Is In The Phenomenology Of Perception, So We'll See How The Way Ramon Perceives The World Around Him Has Shaped Who He Is.

I Also Think It's Important To Highlight That This Analysis Should Not Be Aimed At Real People, So Please Don't Derail. ಠ⁠_⁠ಠ

We Start With The Fact That Ramon Moved Into Dolph's Reality At A Very Young Age, He Probably Grew Up Isolated And Rejected From Society With The feeling Of Being The Only One Of His Kind And He Remained The Aloof "Weirdo" Even When Eden Arose.

He Became The Funny Charismatic Creature, A Mascot For Eden, Even With The Spotlight On Himself He Continued To Be Dehumanized By Those Around Him.

Observing His Home We Can Notice How Empty It Is, The Furniture Is Small Because Of His Height Which Makes The Apartment Seem Even Bigger, With The Exception Of The Tv, This Not Only Demonstrates The Way He Feels Among Humans [Such A Small Being In A World That Doesn't Welcome Him Very Well], But Also In The Way That "Being On Tv" Occupies A Large Part Of His Life.

And We Also Have All This Mess, This Not Only Indicates That He Doesn't Want Cleaners In His Apartment, This Also Ends Up Demonstrating His Mental State... A Complete Mess.

He Really Cares About Children, Especially Hybrid Children Because He Sees Himself In Them, He Genuinely Believed He Was An Inspiration To Them But In The End He Was Just A Puppet Being Used By Those Who Practice Everything He So Abhors.

Suffering Speciesism From Red And Being Censored When Trying To Defend Himself Was Also A Trigger For Him And That's Why He Got So Drunk That Night. Money, Fame, Eden, None Of This Prevented Him From Suffering Discrimination Again. Things Don't Get Better For Minorities, In The End.

About Substance Abuse, People Will Try To Deal With Their Traumas And Loneliness In Many Different Ways And Substance Abuse Ends Up Being One Of Them, Basically An Escape Route From His Own Mind. It's Not Pleasant To See, But It Unfortunately Happens.

Knowing That Things Are Not As He Thinks And That He Was Being A Part Of This Was Too Much For Him, He Never Wanted Something Like This After All And As If It Wasn't Enough To Be Replaced Soon After, They Were Never Interested In Who He Was On The Inside, They Just Wanted A Friendly And Face To Spread Their Lies.

Rayman Using Weapons Is Nothing New And Knowing That Ramon Doesn't Have Powers [Or Doesn't Know How To Use Them] Using Guns Ended Up Being The Safest Way For Him, Killing The Council Was Not Just An Act Of Revenge, It Was Also An Act Of Despair, Fear, Guilt And Anger.

So On One Side We Have Rayman, Who Grew Up In A Healthy Environment With Loved Ones Around Him And On The Other Side We Have Ramon, Who Has Spent His Entire Life Trying To Fit In And Begging, Begging For Mercy, Begging For A Job, Begging For Acceptance...

In The End, They End Up Being The Same, But They Have Gone Through Different Life Experiences And Different Ways Of Dealing With Life's Difficulties, In The End, The Way We Perceive The World Around Us Ends Up Shaping Who We Are.

Some yandere rayman hcs!!

Notes: reader uses we/ours pronounce and sometimes you/your pronounce, rayman 3 rayman and rayman raving rabbids are the same rayman just during different times, same gose for chl rayman and ramon, the rayman raving rabbids section lenses on self aware, in the fakeman section it's stated that were from another universe (our world).

Ubiarts' rayman (origin/ legends): very obsessive and clingy, we like to think that rayman (most game rayman, but especially ubiarts') make friends by walking with people and following them around (especially since many people know who he is), so doesn't know what to do when actaly attracted to us and just amps it up to 100. Tho with ubiarts' rayman being quite goofyer it blends in to his personality, in a way that everyone is just like "yep that's how he acts... hm I think he has a crush on you".

Rayman 3: pretty much ubiarts' but just more. Following us around and being clingy, but now in a way that seems alot more worring. It doesn't blend into his personality as much as it does with ubiarts' (most likely do to the fact that he plays more of a straight man roll in rayman 3, keep in mind that it's not that he's less goofy, but that ubiarts' is MORE goofy)

Rayman raving rabbids: do to ubisoft and the fans (not fans, but the casual players) deciding to focus on rayman less, he wants all of our attention on him, ONLY HIM. Don't focus on other ubisoft games that were coming out, don't focus on the rabbids, only focus on him. I like to think that rayman ( especially closer to the end of the raving rabbids series/ tv party) became winny ( they portray him as more pathetic in raving rabbids), not only now fighting for the player's attention but wanting us to "fix" it, in the sense that everything was going wrong and he wanted us to beat the rabbids over there heads with a metal bat (we would for you baby <3).

Fakeman: fakeman is patient, and is especially patient with us, he knows that at some point we'll love him, and hurting us can cause us to retreat from him, so he'll be patient. Wal fakeman isn't content with just watching our day to day, there hast to be something to push him over the edge and take us (example: raymon getting too close, something dangerous in our life happens, or we finally get outed for being an illegal immigrat from another dimension).

Chl rayman: NEEDS our attention, thinks of us before he goes out into the show to feel better, and then essentially dose the show for us (acts in ways that he thinks we'd like, tho no one can tell cus he already acted like that on stage), whether or not we actually watch, witch he won't find out until later down the line. Sends orders to us from eden like food, or something he thinks we want. Tryes to find/ be in a cute met-cute place in the area that were in, but is almost always busy or worried that people will recognize him and he'll get swormed.

Raymon: thrown into the deep end, ALOT more paranoid now that he knows about the things eden was keeping from him, and in thus stocks us. Before he could only imagine what we were feeling at any given moment, but now he can know. Will stock our fridge with food and buy us essentials if he has the money for it. Will get angry if anyone tells us not to eat the food he brings cus "who knows who brought it" and "it could be poisoned", we've eaten the food he brought before, why would anyone deny you food. Will get worried if we have any of his merch, but will usually let it slide (especially if we let's say, had a body pillow of him in our bed)

Ok I've been thinking about the cast of captain laserhawk and it's keeping bugging me cuz they dont have a canon age in the show and I have some hcs and want to talk about it

So I'm gonna start with Rayman since he's the one that is more difficult to get the age, and I'm gonna say. This man is OLD. Yeah I know, people though and think that he's like 40 or something?? And I understand why but he's more old than that and I'm gonna tell why

So like first of all he's been alive since eua existed, and since the beginning of the series they talk about how it's been a long time since eua became Eden, so yea, Idk how long it was but it probably been some decades.

I gonna use Sarah as an example cuz she was a kid and Eden already existed plus Rayman already did his shows, also Marcus was like 20 or something back there I think??? And when he appears again nowadays he looks old (probably 65?? Idk)

And also there's the fact that Rayman don't age, that's one of the reasons he became Eden's star

I think that he's like between 60-70 or something cuz he's been alive since before Eden existed plus I'm using Marcus as an example because his one of the only people that was more close to have lived in the eua before (the other one is Sarah's dad but he died soo)

Gonna talk about Bullfrog now cuz he's another one with the same thing going on

So we all know he's younger than Rayman (cuz of that one line "when I was your age" when Ramon and Bullfrog talked) and some people think that he's 18??? Which doesn't make sense like yes he's younger but not THAT younger

I saw that you turn into an assassin when you become 23, so he has to be at least 23 but by the looks and how much experience he shows to have, I think he would be like 27 at least (the same goes to Jade but I gonna talk about that in a minute)

Also quick talk rn but I don't really ship Rayfrog like yes it's cute but bcs of my hcs my mind can't let me and plus they talked just once, but I don't mind who shipp it and I respect it since everyone has their hc about them, and this being another reminder that this is just how I see the characters I can just talking bullshit if the creators decide to tell us about their canon ages

Moving on! Jade, so as I said before I think she would be in the same boat with bullfrog since she looks and acts young but not that much?? And plus they seem to be closer (as close as you can say when you know a person for like 2 days) so they probably have the same age

I was thinking, we never got the chance to know about Bullfrog's past. I mean he's the only one we know the least about; except he is an assassin, he is the last of them and he has some moral codes and apparently he knows a lot/ have experience about vengeance.

AND that he was used to watch Rayman as a kid. (And that he took part in a war. Okay I learned the war's name. The wasteland war.)

This gives us a waay more open space to fill in. And I can happily do that with my own headcanon. (I might add it in my fics too but not too sure lol, it's all up to you guys wanting me to add it or not)

So I first thought maybe he had a pretty normal life as a kid. Grew up in a family with a mom and dad. I also thought (because frogs literally give birth to so many babies) he has a lot of brothers and sisters?

Maybe Rayman when he was a kid (like most of the kids) was his favorite show.

I am going to make this post a bit quick so... One day some soldiers came and killed his parents and took his siblings and him prisoner. Some assassins rescued him and taught him their ways. He ignores it and goes to rescue his siblings but finds them all dead? And he wanted revenge so he finds the person did all this and killed him but it was nearly costing his life as his mentor saved him but he died in the process and he swears to never follow the path of vengeance ever again.

This was my take on why he doesn't like vengeance. That's all, thank you for reading! (Still not feeling like this is his entire past but this will do for now~ Btw I have no idea how he is the last assassin. I don't know if there is a canon part of this but if not I am gonna assume that they all died in that war and he is the only survivor. I believe this because when Pey'j died his reaction gave me the vibe maybe something similar happened in his past, because he looked so desperate and upset (yeah he was his friend even though he knew him a little it might be normal but still))

Also off topic but I don't believe he died (his bomb activated) in the end when Laserhawk pressed the button and activated his bomb. I dunno but I have a feeling that Bullfrog is now freed with the bracelet broken. (He is still held by Eden but still lol) But I am sure Sarah has some big plans for him. (Because he is seemingly the only one that still alive lol) And if someone is alive in a show this means something will happen XD I am also really unsure if Rayman/Ramon will be the one to save him but anyway.

*The family had returned safely to Utopia. Ramon had kept his promise to keep Claus safe for Lucas. Sadly, they did not come back unscathed. Murfy's claim of only being grazed had been a lie. Floyd revealed that Murfy had, in fact, been shot in his side. He has been forced to get plenty of rest as he recovered from his wounds. Murfy intended to look into the cages used to house the ghosts once he wasn't feeling as sore.

*The greenbottle was spending a lot more time with the twins since he's been forced to stay down. He'd invite Lucas and Claus to come up to his room to watch movies or play games together. Currenty, Murfy had been watching a movie with Lucas close by. The greenbottle hears his phone ringing and checks the number. He raised a brow as he looked over the number. He answers it and presses a button to put it on speaker*

"Hello?"

"Hello. Am I speaking to Murfy?"

*The voice that spoke sounded like Rayman, yet Murfy knew it wasn't him. Rayman was in the house. It wasn't Rayman's number either. The realization hits the greenbottle, and he began to grind his teeth. His voice dripping with hate.*

"How the hell did you get this number?"

"It does not matter how I obtained your number, Murfy. I am in desperate need of your help. I wouldn't be calling you at all unless the situation is dire. I just want to talk. Will you meet with me outside the gates of Utopia?"

"Do you really expect me to come talk to you like nothing happened? You had me shot! You threatened my family! Give me one fuckin' reason why I should give you anything!"

"If you can provide what I am in need of, I can promise you that Umbra will never bother you or the dragon boy ever again. You'd have my word on that."

*Murfy growled through his clenched teeth, but he let out a sigh. He turned to look at Lucas, his eyes showing that he was conflicted. This was too good to be true, and he certainly did not trust the fake Rayman to keep his word. He slowly reached a tiny hand out to grab Lucas' to attempt to give it a gentle squeeze*

The RayClone Theory: Why It Could Be Possible

(Massive Spoilers for CLH below) Tw: Ab//se, Imprisonment, D3ath, Really Bad Pacing on My Part <3

With me thinking about this way too much, I’ve come up with a thought. Have you ever wondered why the CLH Rayman is so… different from his in-game persona?

No, it’s not because it's a remix. Think deeper. Examine them under a microscope.

It could be because… they’re not the same person.

Now, this may sound like another silly cartoon theory, but hear me out. I have… proof. Aka overanalyzing, but school taught me to do that.

So, what is the RayClone Theory? Well, to put it simple, the Rayman we see in the show isn't the ‘first’ Rayman. There’s been many in the past. Many, as in 5 or so. How? That’s what this post is for. So, let's go back to the beginning. Mushing both Rayman and CLH lore alike.

To make this simpler, we’re gonna establish a rule. Referring to all the Raymen in the show as ‘Rayman’ is very, very confusing. So I will make a list:

OG Rayman - Rayman CLH Rayman - Ramon Rayplacement - Fakeman

Get it? Got it? Good. Let’s start.

According to the Rayman lore, Rayman was created with one purpose in mind: To protect the Glade (or, in this case, Dimension X). He was created for one thing only. To protect. To be the ‘hero’.

In the games, he’s never failed before. He thrives and beats the bad guy. But remember, this isn’t the games. It’s a remix. A what-if. This leads into:

What if Rayman failed? What does he do then?

And not like, fails as in Rayman 2, fail as in royally fucked up. Fail as in, the closest one to him dies by ‘his hand’. No, not Globox, he was considered alive by Adi. But you know who he didn’t confirm?

Betilla the Fairy.

You could be thinking: “Duh, of course she wasn’t mentioned. He was being broad.”, but he mentioned Razorbeard. His ass wasn’t relevant since Rayman M. So why mention him, but not Rayman’s literal mom??

Because she's not alive. 

Eden (and America) has always been a resource hungry society. It’s human nature. In this timeline, society progresses much quicker than in the real world (flying cars in 1992). Progress needs resources. Have you ever noticed that Eden is barren of all plant life? It’s because Eden (or America) used it all for industrialization.

How does this relate to Rayman? You know how the Glade of Dreams is a lush forest? Resources from massive jungles to deep oceans to towering mountains? Imagine what a power-hungry company (or companies) would do if they discovered this.

*Insert How Bad Can I Be Here*

The creation of the Super-Scope must’ve been revolutionary. The ability to travel to other dimensions with one click of a trigger. Resources galore.

Sarah Fisher mentions in ep2 that the Golder Super-Scope was stolen from Eden’s labs. So, what’s stopping Eden from creating this material? Nothing. That’s what.

Eden, still a sorta underground company, creates this gun and finds Dimension X. Filled with lush resources ripe for the picking. The critters of the Glade don’t know their ‘bad guys’. They don’t look inherently bad. So they leave them be.

Rabbids. The little bunny fellas.

The Kaiju monsters in the show. How does that become a monster? It’s easy. Toxic chemicals. Not just any toxic chemicals, but Eden’s toxic chemicals from polluting the Glade.

I’m getting distracted, back to Rayman.

Kaiju Rabbids started popping around Dimension X. They started small and inefficient until they got bigger and bigger. Rayman took care of them, yes, but one day, he got absolutely bombarded by a hoard of Rabbids.

A massive war broke out between the citizens of the Dimension and the Rabbids. No one knows how it started because Eden left after it got all it needed.

Rayman, having ‘hero-ing’ literally coded into him, fights back. Others help, yes, but it’s mostly Rayman doing the fighting. 

This leads into Betilla, and how she died.

Rayman was getting jumped by Rabbids, so she came in to save him, risking her life as a result. Yes, her sacrifice did stun the Rabbids and cause them to flee into the depths of Dimension X, but Rayman feels like he’s one to blame.

No one really fully ‘died’ in the games. Sure, they got kidnapped, possessed, you name it. But no explicit deaths besides villains.

So, imagine what that does to a guy when his first, full on death witness was with his creator, his mother.

He doesn’t take it too well.

Yes. Rayman was a hero and drove out the Rabbids, but he didn’t save everybody. He couldn’t save his mom.

He failed.

Lost and confused, Rayman runs to find… something. He runs away, something he’s never done before. He never backed down from a fight. So why is he now?

Well, because he’s scared. Scared for his life and others.

Betilla saved him with her own life. She died because of him. Heroes are supposed to be giving the sacrifice. Not receiving it.

Rayman blames himself. If he’s out of the picture, then no one else would risk their life for his.

The art book says that they destroyed the dimension, but Globox, the Teensies, and even Razorbeard are alive, so the dimension can’t be unlivable. So what if this use of ‘dimension’ was less literal?

This may sound far-off, but Rayman’s “dimension” could be talking about Betilla. She created him, so she is his ‘dimension’.

This transition into Eden! Or, America currently.

Rayman goes into America looking for a fresh start. To find his purpose. He failed his original purpose (which was to be a hero and save everybody), so he blocked out everything that happened originally to start a fresh start.

Or, every immigration story ever. Leaving behind what you loved for a better start.

He needed a new purpose. And that purpose is to be an entertainer!

His origin in America is the same as the show. He goes to college, gets outcasted, and rises with Eden.

Things are different here than with Ramon. Rayman is… less constricted here.

Back when Eden was new (most likely had good intentions), they weren’t worried about Rayman finding the truth. There was no truth to find. So Rayman was allowed to explore, make friends, talk to people and hybrids below his social class.

One day, he met a hybrid journalist. One of the lower-income hybrids, but a very strong writer. Rayman admired their work, being a news reporter and all, and the two became really good friends, even with him getting them a job at Eden.

Then, the journalist goes snooping. Eden wasn’t as terrible as it is in the present day, but it still did bad things. The hybrid craves justice (like any other journalist) and stations a revolt. It affects Eden, but nothing major except getting the journalist put in jail.

Rayman finds out and goes to give his buddy a visit and to ask what happened. Rayman (still under the influence of Eden) explains that they shouldn’t have revolted and that Eden is great. The hybrid shows him the articles and photos (which were disapproved by Eden so they weren’t published) and explains their side of the story. Since the journalist was low-income, they experienced the biases and issues of Eden first hand.

Rayman obviously seeks the truth as well, promising that he could save the journalist. He goes to the Board of the Directors with the proof and articles, demanding an explanation. Not in a violent way like Ramon, but in a diplomatic manner.

(Keep in mind, Rayman has been questioning Eden in recent weeks from folks he’s talked with in his downtime)

Sound familiar? Of course it does. It happens in the show. Clones are still clones, y’know?

The Board, unsure on how to react with their poster boy finding their fucked up ways, tells Rayman that they’ll explain tomorrow.

Rayman, still trusting of the Board, agrees and waits it out. The next day, he awakens, chained in a dingy room.

Why? Well, the Board knew that Rayman’s act wouldn’t be as efficient if he knew what he was saying was bullshit. Think Disney’s Bolt. So what do they do?

Try out their latest technology, of course. And that was a cloning device.

Now, you can’t just clone Rayman. He’s an alien. Not an organic lifeform. So, how did Eden approach it?

Lums. Take bits of Rayman, combine it with various animals, and boom. Almost perfect Rayman clone.

Clones are never perfect. Each one has an imperfection, little or big. And the Lums is what gives Rayman his main form.

So, chain him to the basement so he’s always on hand. Duh.

Rayman stays in that basement for at least 10 years. Sad, alone, and going insane. He can’t die; he’s immortal. Eden goes through at least 4 or 5 different RayClones before landing on Ramon. I’ll go into Ramon in a bit.

When a RayClone is too imperfect or steps out of line, the Board sends one of the Niji 6 to eliminate them. This is shown by this line of dialogue:

“Taking care of”? What do they imply by that? Maybe it implies that they were sent to assassinate Rayman, or in this case, Ramon. 

So, RayClone bodies can’t exactly decompose. Yes, they can die and lose consciousness, but those Lums inside them don’t allow the body to rot. So what happened to those bodies? Leave them in the depths of Eden to rot.

Back to Rayman, one day, he manages to slip his hand loose from the chains and free him. This happens when Ramon is just made. The Board orders the Niji 6 to hunt and bring back Rayman. During his escape attempt, Rayman accidentally causes an explosion ‘killing him’.

We’re gonna pause his story and shift to Ramon.

Now, I wanna talk about his reaction to Red in ep3. Clones share the same memories as the original, but they don’t experience it the same. It’s like knowing something and actually being there.

The Rabbids attack, but Ramon isn’t really stressed about them attacking. Was he that faithful in the Niji 6? Or was it something else?

Was it because he doesn’t have that trauma about them?

When Red calls Ramon an “interdimensional alien scum," Ramon bursts? Why? Because he experienced it. He experienced being belittled and talked down by his colleagues at work. He knows how it feels, so he’s pissed.

If Rayman was in his place, Rayman would be fidgety and panicky about the Rabbids and brush over Red insulting him. If anything, Rayman would be thanking Red for stopping them. Yes, Rayman was talked down in college and his early days, but the Rabbids changed his life.

You could argue that it’s because he had his cry before the cameras were running, but he shows no sign of that. No voice cracks or eye twitches. And the fight just happened, which explains the presence of Red.

Going back in time for a moment-

Ramon was the latest RayClone and the last one with the ‘death’ of Rayman. This makes Eden super protective over him and his opinion on Eden. Other RayClones in the past were either too disfigured to seamlessly become Rayman, or found / was close to the truth. They need to keep Ramon pure.

How does one keep something pure and untouched? Isolated them, of course!

(Note the use of the word ‘illusory’ here)

This also explains the ‘Eden-generated’ scripts. Rayman wrote his own scripts. Rayman said his own opinion. Now, 10+ years later, Eden writes Ramon’s scripts. Ramon says Eden’s opinion.

If he was stripped of his freedom, then how would he be infected with the truth?

If he wasn’t needed anymore.

This is where Fakeman comes in. I think Fakeman is Raymesis, due to those yellow eye highlights you can see in a split second.

The Board wasn’t as faithful in Ramon as they were previously. He might’ve had some outbursts before ep3. They needed a backup. They can’t clone him, the clone would be to fucked up. They needed another Rayman.

Remember the Rabbid invasion in ep2 / 3? While the Niji 6 was dealing with the kaijus, guess who was snooping around the Glade for a Rayplacement?

Raymesis was kidnapped and forced to work for Eden if he liked it or not. They weren’t going to clone him yet, but to keep him in line, instead of acceptance (like they did with Rayman), they used threats.

This explains Fakeman’s uneasiness in ep6 with Retribution Day. That was his first big acting event, and the one Eden decided if he’s replacing Rayman on stage or in the basement.

Look at his face when it’s canceled. Bro looks scared shitless.

But Fakeman and his lore / personality is a whole ‘nother post.

Ramon follows the same path as Rayman. Seeing something unfair (Rayman’s friend getting arrested and Ramon losing his job), and doing something about it.

It’s that Ramon is filled with vengeance and anger because his whole life was a lie.

Rayman is filled with doubt and confusion because he just refound his purpose, and that was a lie.

Rayman’s whole journey throughout this is finding his purpose. His original purpose was to ‘save everybody’, and that failed. He went to America to find a purpose and did with Eden. In his character bio in the art book mentions this purpose line.

“Even happier that Eden gave him purpose”. Why? Because he lost his original purpose! He felt he was nothing before Eden gave him everything. He’s under the mindset that Eden gave him his meaning of life again.

They quite literally saved his life.

Anyway, what does Rayman do after his ‘death’? Have an identity crisis of course! He was locked up for over 10 years, his brain is scrambled eggs at this point!

He failed his purpose for Eden, so he resorts back to his original purpose: Be a Hero.

But, what about the Rayman on TV? Is he the real one?

Rayman’s mindset is that he was created to be a hero. Heroes are brave, speak the truth, and rise up against bad. What is the Rayman on TV doing?

He’s being brave, speaking the ‘truth’, and rising up against ‘bad’.

What’s the real Rayman doing?

He’s being a coward, secret about what he knows and saw, and hiding against the bad.

Heroes don’t do that. So Rayman must be a fake. He must be the RayClone. He’s the mistake. At least, that’s what he made himself think.

Now, I won’t get into my ideas for Season 2. If people want it, sure. I will. But for now, I’ll leave it at that. This is 2200+ words, and I’m grasping at the air at this point.

MA’AM HAVE YOU HEARD THE NEWS, ALL OF LASERHAWK RAYMAN’S FRIENDS ARE DEAD

...Yeah I'm not really shocked.

For real, Laserhawk is a remix universe, literally no one is exactly how they appear in their cannon worlds. Honestly killing off any connection to the games saves a lot of baggage for the writers and allows them to focus on Rayman here and now, in THIS world.

(that's not to say people can't headcannon to their heart's content!)

If Rayman's friends were still alive out there and the dimension he came from was in any way similar to the game worlds I don't see any reason why Rayman wouldn't try and return. Hell he doesn't even MENTION them or his home world, which leads us to believe he choses not to think about it because he knows there's nothing left. We see in the show that Eden has a gun that can rip open portals, and while it's logical that Eden would try and keep that secret from everyone (including Rayman) you'd think Rayman would be itching to go back at any opportunity if he knew there was a home to return to. He's a smart guy. It's not ridiculous to think he'd just play along with Eden and keep his ear to the ground for the vague hint that Eden had a means to open a portal back to his home.

This cannon makes Rayman a tragic figure. He is literally all that is left of a dead world. When he says to Bullfrog that Eden saved his life HE'S NOT JOKING.

It's part of why he lost his temper at Red for insulting alien immigrants. He literally has nowhere else in the multiverse to go, and before Eden took him in he was an outcast from the human world no matter how hard he tried to fit in.

This cannon strips (Game) Rayman of the one thing that gives him strength and resolve, his friends, and thrusts him into the arms of an uncaring megacorp who uses him as a puppet and praises him for towing their line. It breaks him down.

BUT the possibility of Rayman/Ramon befriending Bullfrog and Dolph gives him a choice. A choice to be a force of change in THIS world and maybe help save it from it's own destruction the way his home world was destroyed.

So yes this cannon is sad but BY GOLLY does it lead to some fascinating world and character building.

So... I know I've never watched Captain Laserhawk... but I have a weird parody series I made that not only has the characters be more like their game selves (in looks, personalities, and even their own independent stories), but also:

Eden is not America, but is instead the evil government that controls America

Dolph has little to no idea as to what's going on early in the story

Jade is his adopted sister (I am. so sorry)

Pey'j and Alex actually act like father figures to the group (again, I am so sorry)

Bullfrog is... still Bullfrog

Alex, instead of being a bad guy of some sorts or Dolph's... overage boyfriend (jesus christ...), is an agent working for this story's Supermaxx, S.P.I.R.I.T. (which is this secret rebel organization that works against Eden instead of being... whatever the heck it was in the original, soooo...), as a mentor for rookie members of the organization, the S.P.I.R.I.T. Farts (haha funny fart joke I know (/s)).

He even offers Dolph, Jade, and Pey'j if they'd like to join the Farts as well, and while Jade was the only one to not hesitate on joining, they basically all agreed because hey they could stand up against Eden much more easily this way, what's the worst that could happen amirite? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Rayman, instead of being some guy who swears a lot and gets fired and goes "pew pew!" at Eden, is actually a limbless guy who's real name is Ramon and who quit by himself for several reasons (mainly because he wanted to "be more intimate with the outside world" but also because he felt like the world was bigger than the already big studio and mansion he lived in and also his coworkers were pretty mean towards him due to his success, so he wants to find at least someone who'd be nicer to him). Of course, this leads to him being the comic relief/ironic punching bag of the group, but at least Bullfrog's a good friend to him, so he sticks around. Even if he's supposed to be "held hostage" by the Farts.

Oh and did I mention that Ramon has a weird, one-sided crush on Dolph? (Yeah, I still stand by the idea of Rayman and Bullfrog just being friends/having a more familial relationship.) (I do, however, am testing the waters on the idea of Ramon having this crush on Dolph and Dolph just being annoyed and/or just really weirded out by that)

And that's everything I can list off the top of my head for my parody of Captain Laserhawk.

I recommend looking into the game source material of each of these characters and use the game lore to develop them further. This feels less like a parody and more like a what if AU where CLH was made for a younger demographic, with a some of its social commentary watered down. It’s most notably how you erased Dolph’s relationship with Alex and made Alex a completely different person, when in canon the relationship between those two is a massive driving force of the show’s themes and plots (Rayman would not have gotten fired if it wasn’t for those two!)

I do understand why though, CLH is a fast paced show with mature and uncomfortable topics with very little room for any of it to breath so it can come across as shock factor on a first time view

If you want to keep Alex as a friendly ally to Dolph, don’t let me stop you. But I think you should at least watch the show first, and also you’d find the 2000s Teen Titans series to be a useful source of inspiration going forward with this au, especially the dynamic between Robin and Slade

You took a deep breath , trying to calm yourself down despite the slight shakiness in your voice .

Your sentence met an abrupt end when Ramon decided to lower his head and leave a  small bite on your neck .

There was a clear hint of desire in his voice now , and as he gently lifted your chin to look into your eyes you could see that he really did just want to make it up to you for being so wreckless that afternoon …
