Random Doctor Who Facts You Might Not Know
The Doctor has been known to keep a teddy bear in his pocket.
The Master's first TARDIS (Lolita) is the Doctor's TARDIS's twin.
The Eighth Doctor once had sex with a sentient planet.
Machiavelli, Richelieu, and Robespierre were all just different aliases for the immortal Hades.
The iceberg that the Titanic crashed into was actually the Monk's TARDIS.
Also on board at the time were several incarnations of the Doctor, the Decayed Master, Jack Harkness, John Hart, Ace McShane, and Bernice Summerfield.
The First, Fourth, and Fifth Doctors were all in London around when the Great Fire started in 1666.
The Eighth Doctor was briefly engaged to Queen Edith but ran away before the wedding.
Consecrated planets, moons, and asteroids cannot be mined under Galactic Law.
The Doctor used to make up imaginary enemies to play fight when they were a small, lonely child. One of these enemies was called Mandrake.
The Sixth Doctor once went back in time with Peri to kill a baby who would become an evil dictator but could not go through with it.
After Nyssa tried to fix the chameleon circuit, the TARDIS took the shape of a whale.
Tegan Jovanka is the Earth Ambassador to Gallifrey.
The First Doctor participated in a riot and became wanted by the CIA two days before running away from Gallifrey (although some sources dispute this).
While the Ninth Doctor witnessed Kennedy's assassination, the First Doctor witnessed McKinley's.
The First Doctor has been repeatedly eaten and regurgitated by a whale before.
Marilyn Monroe married both the Eleventh Doctor and King Henry VIII, who fathered Elizabeth I, who married the Tenth Doctor, and he had also been married to Amy Pond, who was also the Doctor’s mother-in-law through River Song. Talk about a confusing family tree!
The First Doctor fed a snapping wart fowl to Valyes's summer project, and Valyes has had a grudge ever since.
The Eighth Doctor once demanded to die naked upon being sentenced to execution.
All righty, folks. I'm very tired! Good night. I may add more later.

look, I'm a tired demographics student with too much time on their hands and an undying love for polls, so..
I'm also deeply interested in fandom demographics... from my 4 long long (yet relatively short) years in this fandom I've noticed that the Les Mis fanbase does tend to be older than other fandoms I've been in, (though this obviously depends on the platform you're on, for example, the falsettos fandom on tiktok seems to have a lot of 12-15 year olds, to my great surprise) and I just like analysing why that is! I know other fandoms have/have had sort of "fandom demographics" polls which I've always found super interesting... while I'm not necessarily trying to recreate that, I do find this interesting to look at!
Needless to say the more people see this the more representative and accurate the results will be so PLEASEEE reblog thiss and make my little demographer-to-be heart happy

okay very brief munich gig report (mostly under the cut) i probably am forgetting 90% of stuff but let's goooo:
i got EE and i was there by 10 am? i was number 39 and i was pretty okay with this. i did end up getting a really good spot anyway
munich queue 💜💜 i mean, i've already made a post about meeting all of you, but it was truly lovely. i got so many gifts and bracelets! this fandom is full of talented, kind people
the soundcheck was ngvot (every single time i've been to a show i've heard ngvot at some point lol) and vem da greš, both of which i really enjoyed
I GOT TO GIVE NACE MY GIFTS!! like i don't even think he heard what i said BUT THEY'RE WITH THEM. FINALLY. i can be at peace now lol
i really enjoyed both Sector 5 and JC Stewart! they were both pretty good openers! i hadn't heard any of their music before, but i still had fun
WE STARTED WITH KATRINA WHICH I WAS SUPER HAPPY ABOUT
AND I GOT BELE SANJEEEEEE. and bojan said we nailed it the first time which had me like "duh, ofc, i'm here????" I WOULD NEVER FUCK UP MY BELOVED BELE SANJE
we got both Šta bih ja & Schlager. i really really really wanted Bluza so hopefully in london 🤞 i enjoy Schlager more that i've listened to it live lol (and jance were very cute during this song)
on the topic of jance, everyone was mentioning the nacekris was strong last night but as someone who was right in front of jance and barely got to see the others honestly it was kinda hard for me lmao i didn't get those vibes at all. i was so shocked opening tumblr hahahaha. jance were super sweet and smiley and 🥺💕 a solid 95% of what i captured was them and i can assure you they were both very soft and happy
no pijano :((( but he did help bojan at the start of EW and it was very sweet, i love them so much
bojan spit on me. better said, he spit on jan but i was, well, right in front of him, so i got it too lmfao
during the UM bojan was also right in front of me because a little girl got to sing with him (and even went on stage!!!!) and then a super sweet 15yo girl who had her birthday yesterday also got to sing UM - i was next to both of them so i saw bojan VERY WELL. he didn't actually go into the crowd this time
during novi val i made a finger heart at nace AND HE SMILED AND DID ONE BACK AT ME. i know it was for me because everyone got the half hearts lmfao (and then @flananjan told me you could see the heart in a story they posted on their insta and i almost died on the subway back to the hotel)
at some point (i can't remember before which song but i'll probably figure it out when i look at the photos) i put my portuguese flag on stage and jan picked it up 🥺🥺 he then asked me in the softest fucking voice "Portugal?" and i was able to say two entire words to him "yes, Portugal" AND I DIDN'T EVEN DIE ON THE SPOT. he then placed it down and like idk i just!!!! jan knows i exist and i'm portuguese BYE
and when i thought the night just couldn't... well, get any better, JAN GAVE ME HIS PICK. his hand was warm and like way softer than i expected??? this is now my most prized possession. i literally CANNOT believe jan peteh himself gave this to me
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the boys didn't come out at the end because they were tired, apparently??? but i was still very happy about all of this. i'm now way less stressed for london (because i won't be carrying around a bag full of stuff for them omgggg) and manifesting i get to meet them then 🙏
munich, thank you for having me 💜💜💜 i can't wait to come back

Big Bang Editing Story [Day 125]
I started writing this fic while editing my Big Bang story years ago, but am going to continue doing it for other things now that Kill Dear is out. I will write and publish 100 words of the story every time I finish doing whatever task I’m doing. If you’d like to block these proceedings, please feel free to block the tag ‘proofread stories.’ I will reblog this post with the parts of the story I do today. Edited chapters are linked; everything else I’ve done so far is under the cut.

I have been sick and I'm very tired, but I will work on the epilogue today for a bit at least!
Chapter 58 (Patton)
If Patton hadn’t already been looking, he probably wouldn’t have had any idea what happened.
Everything had been fine. Virgil had been sitting cross legged, idly watching the conclusion of the game they’d been playing when his posture had suddenly changed. Patton had looked over at him only to see an expression on his face he didn’t recognize, but it didn’t seem good.
“What?” Patton had asked, but the question didn’t seem to register to Virgil.
Logan had glanced up confused and also noticed Virgil’s face. He’d just opened his mouth to also ask what was going on when chaos descended.
Virgil was suddenly moving, crashing into King Thomas who hadn’t even looked up to see something was wrong at that point. Patton realized after the fact that Virgil had swiped up the board of the game they’d been playing as he jumped over it, the pieces previously stacked on it scattering all over the blanket. There were three thumps as some things hit the thick board, imbedding themselves into the surface.
When Virgil discarded the board in favor of the picnic basket, Patton saw there were small darts in it oozing a dark black liquid. The parts of the board they touched were dissolving, the grass under the new holes beginning to wilt rapidly.
Logan seemed to notice the oozing liquid the same moment Patton did and was quicker to realize what it was. He grabbed Patton’s arm and yanked him away from the board so hard he almost dislocated Patton’s shoulder, not that Patton was too worried about that. He scrambled away from it when he realized what it must be himself.
He could hear the sound of glassware smashing above them. Logan and Patton had rolled off the blanket in their quest to get away from the smoldering, melting board and apparently Virgil had pulled the picnic blanket fully over the king at some point.
Virgil himself was now gone from where he’d been the last time Patton had looked and it took him a moment to figure out where the boy had gone. The person who had been shooting poisoned darts at them had been drawn out of the wooded area they’d been hiding in by Virgil’s attacks.
They were cloaked in dark green from head to toe, explaining why they’d been difficult to spot when they were in the woods. Whoever they were, they were significantly larger than Virgil, possibly an actual adult or almost adult assassin, but they were also clearly a long distant fighter. They had not been expecting resistance let alone resistance in the form of a so quick he was almost a blur fellow assassin.
They had a bow strapped to their back, but they hadn’t had a chance to get it. Instead, they were trying to fight Virgil off with an arrow they’d managed to draw from their quiver. Virgil, meanwhile was lunging at them with a broken piece of plate in one hand and the picnic basket in the other.
Virgil dodged out of the way of the arrow striking towards his arm, though Patton didn’t think it was because he was afraid of getting scratched by an arrow, but because it may also be poisoned tipped.
Virgil was distracted by dodging for long enough that the older assassin managed to hit him in the face with the arm not holding the arrow.
He went down, but he took the older assassin with him, sweeping their legs out from under them. Patton hadn’t noticed (his mind working too slow for how fast they were moving) but they were on a slight incline. They went rolling in a tangle of arms and legs towards the edge of the cliff and skidded to a stop only a few feet away.
Virgil ended up on top, his piece of broken plate in his hands. He moved to slash it across the other assassin’s throat and managed to draw blood, but the assassin’s fist came out to shove at Virgil’s chest at just the right moment, causing the strike to veer off course and slice across the assassin’s cheek instead.
Virgil jerked to the side to avoid a second strike to the chest and went back for another slash. The other assassin rolled to the side as he did and the plate only managed to nick their ear. The point of the motion hadn’t been to dodge, however. They were lunging for the arrow they’d dropped a few feet away while they’d rolled. They grabbed it with their right hand and in the same motion stabbed back behind them towards Virgil.
Virgil rolled to avoid the hit, already slashing up with his plate as the assassin turned back towards him.
87295
He didn’t hit them this time but his swipe managed to stop them from stabbing him when they tried again. They shoved themselves back to avoid Virgil’s swing, putting a bit of distance between them. Both of them managed to make it to their feet during the momentary reprieve, but both also stayed crouched, eyeing each other.
They both lunged towards each other at the same time. The assassin went for a stab to Virgil’s neck with the arrow, but Virgil was already ducking down. This time, he wasn’t going for a kill shot. He grabbed the assassin’s wrist and at the same time drove his piece of plate into the assassin’s arm, slicing down from the elbow to wrist. The assassin spoke for the first time, cursing in a language Patton didn’t recognize as they were forced to drop their arrow.
Virgil took a moment to kick the arrow away from the assassin and it ended up falling off the cliff.
However, this pause gave the assassin enough time to regroup. Despite their arm bleeding profusely, they still decided to use it to backhand Virgil across the face viciously, leaving a long line of their own blood across his face.
Virgil lunged back forward, but the assassin was able to get a leg between them, kicking Virgil squarely in the chest and sending him flying back a few feet parallel to the cliff’s edge.
The assassin went to grab their bow and another arrow from the quiver still strapped to their shoulder.
Virgil, however, apparently went for another weapon too and he was much faster with a knife than any archer. A knife appeared in his hand, having been strapped to his ankle and was embedded into the assassin’s chest before they could even full remove an arrow from their quiver.
The assassin promptly burst into flames, fire catching their clothes (and from the smell of it their skin) ablaze. Panicked and dying, they stumbled two steps to the side. They stepped directly off the cliff.
There was a second of silence. They heard the sound of the body hitting the ground far below and then the flap of wings and screeching as birds below fled from the startling sound (and possible soon to be forest fire).
“Uh, Virgil?” King Thomas said. He had managed to get the blanket off his head at some point. When, Patton didn’t know, but seeing any of it was probably enough.
Oopsie.
Chapter 59 (Logan)
Logan and Patton had been useless during the fight, but that may have been for the best. Considering the skill differential when it came to fighting (and that differential had never been as clear as it was in this moment), that was probably for the best. They likely would have just gotten in the way.
The moment Logan’s father spoke, however, they both jumped into action.
They both knew their jobs in a situation like this. Patton pushed himself up to his feet ungracefully and all but sprinted over towards Virgil. Logan, on the other hand stood to face his father, putting himself very purposefully between the man who had no idea what was going on yet and the boy who was two seconds away from remembering what was going on.
“I can explain,” Logan said.
His father was still sitting on the ground. “You can explain,” he said slowly, “how Virgil just threw an assassin off a cliff.”
Logan thought pointing out that Virgil hadn’t thrown anyone off a cliff and instead had set them on fire with a magical knife causing them to walk off a cliff, would not be useful in this moment. He glanced back briefly towards where Virgil and Patton were standing and then turned back to his father. “Yes.”
“And what would that explanation be?”
Before even starting to speak, Logan found himself making large dramatic ‘explaining hand gestures’ that he’d thought he’d long since trained himself out of. When he was younger and in trouble, he always used to give himself away as guilty by being overly expressive with his hands (and arms).
“So,” Logan said. He was still not able to stop the hand motions. “Virgil was an assassin. He came here to kill you last fall, but he accidently went to the wrong room in the royal wing. Patton and I were having a slumber party and caught him in the act. Then we reformed him and now he doesn’t kill people anymore.” He paused and glanced back, remembering the body that had just toppled off the cliff. “Er, uh, he doesn’t kill people who haven’t shot poisoned darts at people recently anymore?”
“What?”
“Look,” Logan said. “You’re going to have to tell him you’re not going to execute him soon. Patton can only keep him from bolting for so long.”
“Execute him?” his father asked.
“Well, he was a Mocnejsi assassin sent to kill you,” Logan said.
“Virgil is a Mocnejsi assassin,” his father repeated as though to confirm he’d heard him right.
Logan had thought the Mocnejsi was implied. “He was,” Logan confirmed.
“Why does that make more sense than any other explanation I’ve come up with for him?” his father asked while pinching his brow. Logan took that as rhetorical. Then, his father looked at him again. “He’s 14.”
“Yes,” Logan said, “I’m also pretty sure this is the first person he’s actually killed while not under a blood compulsion, so you really need to tell him he’s not going to be executed.”
His father seemed to actually absorb Logan’s request this time. He finally looked over Logan’s shoulder at Virgil, concern crossing his face at what he saw. “Right.”
He moved to step around Logan then, and Logan let him. Logan turned to watch him slowly approach Patton and Virgil, his hands out in a placating manner. He stopped a few feet away.
“Hey,” his father said. “That was a bit scary, huh?” Virgil looked at him, eyes wide and darting around like they did when he was looking for an escape. There wasn’t much of one being so close to the edge of the cliff.
Logan would worry he’d contemplate throwing himself off of it in a bid to escape if Patton wasn’t clutching him to prevent that. “You did a good job.”
That seemed to give Virgil pause, his eyes focusing on father. “Good job?” he asked.
“Yes, well,” father said with a small smile, “judging by what those darts are doing to the grass and how far we are from any supplies for counter potions, I think you blocking them probably saved my life. So, I think a good job is in order.”
Virgil did not respond verbally, though he tilted his head like he did when he was thinking through the steps of a potion.
His posture changed enough that Patton released him cautiously, taking a step away.
“But,” Virgil said. “I’m an assassin.”
“Yes,” Father said. “I could tell by how that fight just went.”
Virgil shifted his weight. “I came here to kill you.”
His father spread his arms wide. “Yet, here I am,” he pointed out. “You’ve had me alone multiple times including once in a secret room possibly no one would have ever found. Plus, you saved me today. I think that more than makes up for the intentions you had months ago.”
“Does that mean you’re not going to send me to prison?” Virgil asked. “Or execute me?”
88533
“No, of course not,” his father said.
Virgil eyed him, still slightly warry.
“I promise, Virgil, you’re fine.”
“Dad wouldn’t lie,” Logan interjected. Virgil looked over at him and then back at Father. He nodded slowly.
“Good,” Father said. “Now can we get a bit further back from the edge?” He glanced at Patton. “You too, Patton.”
Virgil and Patton both stepped towards him, and he herded them far away from the edge until they were at the edge of the surrounding forest. Logan followed as well.
“Can I touch your face?” Father asked once they were sufficiently away from the cliffs.
Virgil nodded and father pulled out a handkerchief. He carefully wiped the blood off Virgil’s face the best he could (most of it was not Virgil’s) and inspected the boy’s split lip and already bruising eye.
“Is your chest alright?” Father asked.
Virgil nodded. “Yeah.”
Father considered him. “Enough to ride back to the castle.”
“It wasn’t that bad of a hit,” Virgil insisted.
Father studied him for a moment longer. “I’ll choose to believe you for now,” he said. “We should get back to the castle as soon as possible just in case this is not an isolated attack.”
88736
“We don’t work in teams,” Virgil informed them. “They worry we’d get emotionally attached and not complete our missions.”
“I can understand why they would say something like that,” Father said, letting just a bit of his scorn come through, “but still, we should be on our way.”
With that, he put an arm on Virgil’s back to guide him back towards where they’d left the horses.
“Huh,” Logan said to Patton as they began to walk behind them. “I thought we’d be in more trouble for all of this.”
His father paused at overhearing that, turning to look at them over his shoulder briefly.
“Ah,” said Logan with a grimace. “I see.”
“It’s been nice being your friend all these years Logan,” Patton said solemnly. “Too bad we’re both going to be locked in our rooms for the rest of our lives.”
“Until your 50s with good behavior,” Father informed them blandly.
That was… probably fair. They did allow an assassin to freely roam the castle for months without telling anyone. The fact that his father was now watching that assassin like a hawk to make sure he wasn’t more injured than he was saying, did not change that fact.
Logan couldn’t find it in himself to regret it.
Epilogue
“Do you think they’ll light your trees on fire this year?” an amused (but slightly concerned) voice asked from behind Jeffers. Jeffers ran a finger over the empty thumb of his slightly dirty gardening gloves while watching the two boys. They were currently leaning over an unlit lantern and various “supplies.” In truth, he’d stopped his own work to watch the two boys out of that very concern.
“Virgil helped me fertilize that tree a week ago,” Jeffers replied. “So, I’d hope he has some caution.”
“Virgil likes fire though,” Thomas pointed out.
Jeffers sighed. “That he does.” He tilted his head towards Thomas. “You did confiscate the fire knife again after last week, yes?”
“I did,” Thomas confirmed, “but that means very little. Even burying that thing with a corpse did not dissuade him.”
As he spoke, a sudden spark of light flew from where the boys were working. A whining sound and then pop sounded as the spark exploded into 10 pieces, raining down colorful light. Luckily, they burned up before hitting the ground (or the tree).
“Boys, if you set anything on fire, you will be grounded from the festival,” Thomas called in a booming voice. Both boys jumped. Jeffers imagined Logan hadn’t even known he was there. (Virgil certainly did, but he still jumped. “For the second year in a row in Logan’s case.”
“They’re not flammable!” was the claim from Logan.
“I don’t believe you,” Thomas called back.
The boys ignored this, turning back to their experiment.
“We should have kept them grounded,” Thomas muttered. Despite Thomas’s original decision to ground Patton and Logan until their 50s (and Helen’s push to keep them grounded until Thomas, Helen, and Jeffers himself were all dead and couldn’t enforce it anymore), the boys had only been grounded for two months after Thomas had found out the truth of Virgil’s origins. That did, however, mean that Patton and Logan had been grounded from most of the lantern festival the year before.
89280
Logan, at least, seemed to be trying to make up for lost time this year (explosively). Jeffers did worry about where Patton was slightly, but honestly Patton without Logan or Virgil tended to be much less destructive in his hijinx. The worst he was probably doing was stealing sweets out from under Helen’s nose. Which was why both Jeffers and Thomas were currently here watching these two.
There were more sparks from the boy’s experiment. The grass caught fire at their feet. Virgil hastily stomped it out.
“I’ll watch them if you want to get food to bribe Virgil away,” Jeffers offered.

Hey, could I please have a snippet of mer au?
WIP Wednesday (10/9) | Mer Roadtrip AU (Part 80)
A few hours later the two of them have crossed the state line into Nevada and Neil's tired of driving. He instructs Andrew to find them an exit and drives them into a beige-colored pile of sand called Paradise. Neil doesn't believe the sign, but Paradise sounds better than sitting behind the wheel for another second. A couple minutes later, he's swinging into the parking lot of a seedy-looking motel. Neil's favorite.
"Oh no," Andrew says, shaking his head. At Neil's look he makes a buzzer sound. "Wrong answer. Turn the car back on."
"Andrew—"
Andrew continues to shake his head. "I am not a high maintenance person, Neil-Abram, but I do have standards. I just got bedbugs from looking at this place. Turn the car back on, we can do better."
"But it's cheap."
Andrew looks up at the sign out front claiming vacancies and $39 rooms. "Yes. That is horrifying. Let's try a place that doesn't have two different drug deals going on in the parking lot, huh?" Andrew jerks his thumb towards the far end of the lot and Neil grimaces.
"Andrew—"
"I am not asking for the Ritz, just somewhere without Sallies and haunted TVs." Andrew says with crossed arms. It's clear he's not budging, so Neil turns the key and drives until he finds what Andrew deems acceptable. The two of them check into a room with a couple queen beds with a bit of trouble from the busybody at the front desk. Turns out a pair of teenagers is harder to sneak into a hotel than one, who knew.
As soon as they're inside the room, Andrew sets his bag on the foot of one of the beds and drops into it face first with a long groan. "Abram-Neil, you will not believe how comfortable this is. It's like a cloud. Or at least a bed." Andrew flops onto his back and grabs the TV remote, switching it on and immediately channel-surfing.
"I'm going to dye my hair now," Neil says, picking through their shopping until he finds the dye. He starts to take the backup black he'd bought, but Andrew clears his throat.
"I thought you were going natural."
"I was going to, but—"
"But nothing. You bought the auburn, use it. You're getting an ID made tomorrow. This is no time to be wishy-washy. I also think you should take those lenses out. If you don't need them to see."
"We'll see," Abram says, taking the auburn dye and his duffle bag into the bathroom with him. He applies the dye to his hair methodically, like he has a hundred times before. And when he's done, he goes to sit on the foot of his bed and watch whatever Andrew's found on TV until it's time to wash it out.

Not Your Sweetheart Ch 39 - Broken Bird
Not Your Sweetheart Chapter 39 - Broken Bird
Once, there was a haunted bluegrass-playing half-elf bard with a dark past who met a charmingly cringefail elven vampire with a dark past and they flirted one another into oblivion until they fell in love. They collect a group of delightful chucklefucks on the road and they all banter their way through the darkness to face their demons and save the world together.
A retelling of the campaign written with sitcom-level dialogue and tons of found family and healing from trauma tropes. Very Schitt's Creek but with more violence.
AKA 18 Charisma bard sees through 10 Charisma vamp-boy's bullshit and falls for him anyway. But he falls first.

The crew meet The Emperor in the flesh at last, then they head on to Rivington. Astarion has a no good, very bad day. There's murder involved. Read on AO3. Also I'm on Twitter now.

Commissioned piece of the dorks by the fantastically talented @hamrikaa (see the full thing in Ch 10).
---
With her eyes trained on his chest, she undoes the buttons of his ruined shirt and he lets her get it off him and toss it to the side, likely to be burned later when they have the wherewithal to do so.
Ori dips her cloth in the bowl and trains her eyes on his cheeks, his chin, his forehead. But not his eyes. She doesn’t look there as she cleans the blood off him, wiping the cloth carefully over his skin. Her other hand rests along his jaw. Steady. Not shaking, not afraid.
At last, as she finishes wiping at the corner of his mouth, she meets his gaze.
He’s so tired. Drained to the dregs, wrung out. Deeply, achingly, terribly sad and angry in a way he can’t even begin to parse. All he can do is sway a little and blink back at her.
She runs the cloth over the side of his face from temple to ear.
“What’d he do to you?” she asks quietly.
He swallows. When he speaks, his voice croaks. “Not going to ask what I did to him?”
“I saw what you did, Astarion,” she says as she continues to clean him up. The water goes pinker and filthier every time she rewets the cloth. “I’ve seen you fight. I’ve seen you enjoy a kill. I’ve seen the curiosity in your face when a person chooses cruelty, sometimes.” Her touch continues to be gentle on his skin. “But I’ve never seen you do anything like what you did to him.”
She drops the wet cloth and picks up a clean, dry one, patting it against his skin. When she looks him in the eye again, she asks, “So, what did he do to you?”
He gives a weak, false laugh, looking up and blinking away the threatening tears. He drops his chin and stares at her feet. “Does a monster need a reason?” he scoffs.
“Sweetheart.” Her voice is so even. So bloody patient.
It’s maddening.

Spanish GP 2024 Recap
Part 3 of this strangely therapeutic thing I call content!
Forgot to write out stuff that happened pre-race cuz I was busy stressing over final exams tomorrow and realised it only as the formation lap was complete lmao.
('Tis the reason I'm posting it today already as well, brother I am SUFFERING I HATE FINAL EXAMS)
Anyways, enjoy.
And, as always, numbers in brackets are lap numbers.
(Disclaimer: Remember that this is just for shits and giggles, I'm not trying to actually hate on anyone here cuz all the drivers are very dear to me)
- IT'S LIGHTS OUT AND AWAY WE GO!
- Lando looses P1 almost immediately
- and drops down to P3 in the first corner
- That was horrible my man
- But DAMN where did George come from tho??
- No crashes so far
- Oop Ferraris touched actually, nevermind
- Max in the lead (3)
- Is it even worth it to keep watching
- Like we all know how this is gonna end
- Fuck it, never say never
- Lando is back in George's DRS window (7)
- Somehow Fernando dropped down to P14
- Lando is slowly creeping up on George
- First pitstops happening already (Guanyu and Yuki) (10)
- Oscar is literally up Pierre's rear
- Haas fucking up yet another pitstop
- Oh brother I can see the negative points in my F1 Fantasy already
- Kevin apparently did a false start (this seems familiar)
- Max binned it in turn 7 (13)
- Which we never got to see btw
- Alpine fucked up Pierre's pitstop
- Kevin gets a 5-Second-Penalty (now hold on...)
- George in Pit (16)
- Mercedes also fucked up George's pitstop
- What's in Barcelona's air today lmao
- Lando is 8 tenths faster than Max
- Max comes in (17)
- 1,9 second pitstop😵
- Rejoins in fourth
- Carlos is complaining a lot today
- Stop yapping bro, DRIVE
- I'm scared of McLaren's strategy
- I need to go to the restroom but if I've learnt anything it is that something crucial happens if I do.
- Oscar in pit (22)
- Oscar flying past Nico (23)
- Lando pitstop (23)
- Rejoins in sixth
- Lando fastest lap (26)
- Lando closing in on Carlos
- Aaaand he's gone!
- Oscar overtakes Checo easily (28)
- "Tires are very inconsistent" - Max (30)
- OH?
- Lando is getting ready to overtake Lewis
- Gets by easily (32)
- Oscar flies through the field
- Lando is up in P2!
- But George ain't giving up without a fight
- Fight! (36)
- They're side by side for like half the lap
- Lando wins the squabble (37)
-George fastest lap (39)
- Checo is in P10 btw (38)
- I give up, I need to use the restroom
- Nothing happened, nice.
- Lapping starts (42)
- Max pitstop (44)
- Lando is speeding away
- Mom I'm scared
- Lando boxes (47)
- Rejoins P2!!!
- Nico gets a penalty for speeding in the pitlane
- 7 second gap to Max
- Is it too soon to say I can hear the Dutch anthem playing already?
- Wait hold on Lando is actually gaining
- Yuki also gets a penalty for speeding in the pitlane
- 15 laps to go!
- Lewis in P3!
- Max is pulling away again😮‍💨
- Alex bins it (60)
- My hopes are dead
- Max won
- silently fuming
- Not only because Lando didn't win but because somehow Oscar was kinda forgotten again? Correct me if I'm wrong here tho
- At least Lando got DotD
- AND LEWIS PODIUM!
- Everyone actually finished🤯
- This race was... meh.
- Not a single yellow flag, no safety car, no carnage.
- Only plenty of overtakes and battles
- Some of them were GODLIKE but still...
- Turned off the broadcast as soon as the podium celebrations started
- I do NOT want to hear the Dutch anthem rn
- I cannot physically handle hearing it I will cry
- Lando didn't do his signature champagne celebration apparently - very understandable.
- But at least he's second in the WDC now🥹
- inhaling the copium
- ... feel free to add on!
... Yeah. A rollercoaster of emotions, this one.
But hey! My homerace is next! YIPPEE! See ya in Spielberg!

MY 200 FAVORITE ALBUMS OF ALL-TIME
(Revised 2024 Edition)
To my way of thinking, a list of favorite albums changes over time. At any moment, there might be as many as 300 or 400 albums that are good enough to make a favorites list of 200. Where and how to cut is the question. I do a new list whenever the old one feels outdated to me. The criteria I use is pretty basic. I choose my favorite records to listen to, and those that get played more often are ranked higher. But my listening habits change from time to time, so when an album I love doesn't get played as often because I'm getting tired of it, it falls to a lower spot on the list, or disappears altogether. If I haven't played it in awhile, and it sound fresh to me, it goes back into regular rotation, and subsequently climbs higher on the list. I go through periods when I listen to one genre more than another, and that can also affect where the album lands on the list. Playability is the most important factor. That's why an album that has one great side that gets played all the time while the other side is ignored, won't rank as high as one that I enjoy playing from start to finish. And critics lists are things I often read, but completely ignore when it comes to doing my own. My list reflects my tastes, and my biases only.
This is my first revision since March of 2023. There are 28 new additions to the list this time marked with an asterisk. And, in case you're wondering, there were five artists that placed at least five albums on the list. They were The Rolling Stones (13), The Beatles (8), and The Beach Boys, Steely Dan, and Tom Petty each had five (though four of Petty's were with The Heartbreakers, and the fifth was a solo album). Here's my list, and I hope it encourages you to explore something you might not have heard, or to pull something out you may not have played in awhile.

Let's fucking go
2. If you had to give up your keyboard and write your stories exclusively by hand, could you do it? If you already write everything by hand, a) are you a wizard and b) pen or pencil?
Oh fuck no. With the lengths of my stories, absolutely the fuck not
3. What is your writing ritual and why is it cursed?
Don't have any. I just sit down and write...does that count as cursed?
9. Do you believe in ghosts? This isn’t about writing I just wanna know
Yeah
10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?
I don't know if a piece of writing has ever haunted me...mine or someone else's
14. Do you lend your books to people? Are people scared to borrow books from you? Do you know exactly where all your “lost” books are and which specific friend from school you haven’t seen in twelve years still possesses them? Will you ever get them back?
I do lend my books to people, knowing damn well that I'm probably never gonna get them back. I mainly lend them to my grandmother who then lends them to my uncle. Once it gets to my uncle, I'll probably never see it again. But that's fine
15. Do you write in the margins of your books? Dog-ear your pages? Read in the bath? Why or why not? Do you judge people who do these things? Can we still be friends?
I don't judge people who do them, but I don't. I'm a bit of purest when it comes to my books
16. What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever used as a bookmark?
I don't use bookmarks a whole lot. I just memorize the page number that I was on
17. Talk to me about the minutiae of your current WIP. Tell me about the lore, the history, the detail, the things that won’t make it in the text.
Currently working on a Killer and Healer Spirealm Au...there's not a whole lot of lore behind it, other than the main characters of the Spirealm are very similar to the main characters of my all time favorite drama Killer and Healer which is why I think this au is going to work (I mean, a lot of my aus work and I say this about every au but it's gonna be good)
18. Choose a passage from your writing. Tell me about the backstory of this moment. How you came up with it, how it changed from start to end. Spicy addition: Questioner provides the passage.
When he arrived, he was surprised to find that his little sister, Chen Keying, wasn’t sitting and waiting for him on the stoop like she normally did, causing him to frown.          “That’s odd…she should be home from school by now” he murmured before he hummed.          “Maybe she got tired and went to take a nap” he mused before he stepped through the gate and made his way through the courtyard before he stepped into the house, first stopping to place his kit down on the table before he made his way to Keying’s bedroom.          “Keying!  I’m home” he called out, but there was no answer, causing him to frown as he pushed open the door and poked his head in, only to see that the bedroom was empty.          “Keying?” he called out, but there was again, no answer, making him frown before he turned and headed towards his bedroom, as she also sometimes liked to nap there, stepping inside to find it also empty.
This scene is very similar to a scene in my Killer and Healer rewrite but that's kinda how it works with my fics...you'll find a lot of similar scenes or lines of dialogue and what not between them
19. Tell me a story about your writing journey. When did you start? Why did you start? Were there bumps along the way? Where are you now and where are you going?
So my writing journey started when I was in kindergarten and we were just having free time so I wrote a little story. My principle (who's an author herself) saw it/read it and said I was very creative and I had a gift for writing. Writing kind of just...continued from there. I'm always constantly telling stories in my head and I only really started putting them down onto paper/posting them online when i was like in middle school. As for where I am now...we're still trotting along and coming up with a new fic idea at every turn. And as for where I'm going...I have no idea. But I hope these characters are along for the ride
23. Describe the physical environment in which you write. Be as detailed as possible. Tell me what’s around you as you work. Paint me a picture.
I'm terrible at descriptive shit...uh...okay. I'm in bed, with a mint green blanket covering my crossed legs. A white bat plushie, a sloth plushie with a removable bean bag that can be warmed in the microwave, and a purple bat plushie are to my right while four different baby blankets are strewn out over the bed. Leaning against the wall is a pillow with a book on top of it, as I like to read in bed. Towards the bottom right hand side of the bed/footboards leans a giant grogu squishmallow, an Eeyore plushie next to it. To my left diagonally is a laundry basket full of clothes that need to be folded and against the right hand of the room parallel to a floor length mirror leaning on the left hand side of the room and a four-door dresser is a messy desk covered with makeup. In front of and across from the bed is a storage bench covered in random crap...my room really needs to be cleaned
25. What is a weird, hyper-specific detail you know about one of your characters that is completely irrelevant to the story?
There's no hyper-specific detail for this particular story
27. Who is the most stressful character you’ve ever written? Why?
Oh god, okay, the most stressful character(s) I've ever written is all of the ones where I never watched the source material. Was literally going off of gifsets and amvs to get the personalities and characteristics. I was always worried that I got them wrong...but according to my readers/commenters I haven't so... *hair flips*
32. What is a line from a poem/novel/fanfic etc that you return to from time and time again? How did you find it? What does it mean to you?
I'm sorry, my brain is a little...out of it today, so I can't think of one rn, I'm so sorry
38. What is something about your writing process YOU think is Really Weird? If you are comfortable, please share. If you’re not comfortable, what do you think cats say about us?
I think the fact that I can just sit down and write is pretty weird, not gonna lie
39. What keeps you writing when you feel like giving up?
My friends who hype me the fuck up. @ahhhnorealnamesallowed @kpopfantasywriter @seonghwacore @mishathewtf @hyperbolicgrinch @nineninepetals @evil-moonlight and @clawbehavior are really great people who make me feel better about my writing when I'm just...not having it. And I love them for it
40. Please share a poem with me, I need it.
I always loved this poem by Dr. Seuss and I think it's really great (it's not profound or anything but it's applicable, me thinks)
"And I've learned there are troubles
Of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead
And some come from behind.
But I've bought a big bat.
I'm all ready, you see.
Now my troubles are going
To have troubles with me!"

1249.
1. What is your favourite kind of "-cide" (e.g., suicide, homicide, matricide, genocide..etc)? >> Patricide. Deicide's also fun.
2. Do you prefer soupy noodles or noodles without the broth? >> Noodles without the broth, 100%. I really just am not a soup person. Like, it can taste good, but I just do not like having to deal with broth. 3. Do you listen to Sublime? What's your favourite song of theirs? >> I don't. Santeria and Date Rape and What I've Got are definitely still nostalgia classics for me and I love hearing them in the wild, but I don't have them in my Likes or anything.
4. Don't you hate it when you comment/message someone a question and you know they've read it but they don't reply? >> Abso-fucking-lutely.
5. Do you have a virus scanner installed on your computer? >> I don't, Windows Defender or whatever does the job fine enough for my needs.
6. Do you think a pretty person with ugly teeth can ruin their appearance? .
7. What's up? .
8. Have you ever missed someone but felt like they had other friends and didn't miss you as much as you did? .
9. Are you pretty good at small talk/conversing with acquaintances? >> I don't find small talk to be difficult at all, I'm just not very fond of the fact that I rarely get to progress beyond small talk with people.
10. Who, out of all your friends, do you hang with the most and could never get tired of him/her? .
11. What was the last bet you made between a friend? Who won? .
12. Do you like the taste of white chocolate or does it taste kind of fake? >> I can't stand it. I don't care for sweet chocolate in the first place, but white chocolate is particularly off-putting to me. It barely tastes like chocolate at all.
13. Are you an automaton? >> Beep boop.
14. How would you react if you just found out your mom had an abortion before? >> She wanted one, incidentally. I wish my father didn't force her to have me.
15. Are your pets spayed/neutered? .
16. Don't you hate it when sites go under maintenance all the time? >> I would find that quite annoying.
17. Do you have polymastia (only the cool kids have been diagnosed with it)? >> I don't. I was born polydactyl, though.
18. Here's a good one: Do you know anybody who has a third nipple? >> I don't.
19. Ever seen a guy wear a kilt before? >> Many times. 20. Hottest guy you know and actually talk to? Hottest guy whose name you don't even know? .
21. Do you wear jeans that are boot cut, straight leg, flared, or what? >> Flares is my preferred style. I am so glad Old Navy still sells flares.
22. Are you expert at photoshop? >> I am not an expert at it.
23. Where do you buy your shoes? .
24. Have you ever seen the movie Selena, about the Mexican-American pop star? >> Long, long time ago. 25. When was the last time you had carrot cake? >> I don't remember, but now I want some. 26. Do you make sweet vids on your camera with your friends? . 27. Have you ever been to the Space Needle? >> I have not. 28. Can you sing the Peptol Bismol commercial jingle? >> I could.
29. Do you know any teenager guys who talk in a semi-high voice like they haven't even reached puberty yet? .
30. Are you feeling pretty complacent at the moment? >> I... don't think so?
31. Who all have you fallen in love with completely? .
32. Where will you be the most tomorrow? >> Home, although I will be going out for a couple of hours. 33. What's something you need to go shopping for in the near future? >> Groceries.
34. Do you have a shit ton of friends or just a select few best friends? >> Secret third thing. 35. What plans do you have for this coming weekend? >> Meetup group on Saturday.
36. What's something that you've been thinking about a lot recently? >> The agonies.
37. Can you say that you hate someone? >> I cannot say that.
38. What's something you really need to work on about yourself? .
39. Is there anything in your past you just don't talk about at all? >> I wouldn't say that. A lot of stuff just never comes up in conversation because it's pretty traumatic and/or unrelatable.

Thess vs Division of Labour
On the one hand, I am looking very forward to my upcoming week off. By which I mean, it's the only thing making the thought of having to work tomorrow somewhat bearable.
On the other hand, I am not looking forward to spending a week stressing over what the typing queue will look like when I get back. It's bad enough as it is, with Temp having been off this week and The Other Part-Timer having been off sick. (Though, to be fair, The Other Part-Timer is now full-time but she's not on typing anymore, so I guess either way we're kind of screwed in that regard.) But when I go off...
Look. I'll give it to Goblin - she pretty much pulls her weight. And Temp ... well, as long as you don't expect her to do anything long or complicated (because not having a high number of things typed makes her feel 'unproductive', which I guess is all right for the rest of us somehow), she gets shit done. But New Girl? Oh gods, New Girl.
Today, for instance. It was a hellish day. We were struggling to--
No. Sorry.
I was struggling to get things back on track given Temp being off and no longer having The Other Part-Timer typing, given a bunch of folks who came in to dictate on the weekend. We are finally to the point where we were actually doing some of today's typing today, as in we cleared all of yesterday's typing before close of play. But the mess of that... Two complicated placenta cases dictated by someone who's new to placenta cut-up. Three extensive breast cases by a new individual who isn't entirely sure of herself but has picked up enough from The Breast Guy to skip around in the dictation as it suits her. A grand total of eight messes by The Word Salad Guy. A few from lesser Word Salad Individuals. And a dozen by one of the ones who skirts annoyance territory because she does complicated ones while speaking very quickly, and often makes minor word salad without the excuse of "English is not her first language". Also another one who makes her dictations twice as long by dictating the lab numbers on every pot when we don't need to type that, and the one who dictates by block instead of doing a block key like normal people-- and this makes very little sense to anyone who isn't me, sorry. Suffice it to say that it was a mess.
New Girl got one of the new individual's breast cases and one of Word Salad Guy's cases - and that under duress because she'd picked out everything else that might qualify as easy before that even got looked at and I had other shit to do, so all the rest of hers were easier ones, and shorter ones. I had both placenta cases, the longest of the breast cases, seven of the eight messes from Word Salad Guy, everything from the one who skirts annoyance territory, and most of the rest of the Annoyances in general.
She started at 10:00, took an hour lunch (where she dumped more complicated ones she hadn't got around to back into the queue so someone else would do them while she was away), and left at 16:00 or so. Total reports typed: 39.
I started at 11:00, had a few microbreaks so I didn't start spasming, finished at 17:30, and got far more of the complicated and longer ones than she did. Total reports typed: 93.
I'd ask if anyone else was seeing the issue here, but as @mxlabradorite said to me recently, that's been my professional life for over twenty years now.
Honestly, I'm kind of glad that we had to cancel Saturday D&D shenanigans this week. I am so tired, and I hurt so much, and I need to recover. I have no idea how the fuck I'm going to manage to get through tomorrow at this point. Worst of all, though, is that I'm going to end up stressing for at least part of my much-needed, well-deserved week off about how those yahoos I work with are just going to go at their usual slow-to-middling pace while I'm gone because "it's just a job". For fuck's sake, am I the only person in that damned virtual office that remembers that there's a patient waiting to find out if they have cancer attached to those names and lab numbers?!?
(Answer: yes. Either that or they don't care. Fuck that; knowing that I'm sometimes the difference between life and death for some of these patients is what keeps me going half the time. And given my work in various stages of oncology, no, I am not exaggerating, or at least not by much. The earlier you catch something like that, the earlier you get treatment and the better the odds of forcing it into remission. At worst, I'm giving someone desperately needed reassurance that they don't have something life-threatening. That's worth a lot.)
Oh, and Scruffman hasn't said a damn word about performance reviews. I figure that'll be sprung on me on short notice either tomorrow or once I get back. Or maybe Scruffman will have a well-timed attack of good sense and wait for the week after I get back, as I'll be busting my ass dealing with the backlog those dipshits leave me while I'm gone.
...Don't worry too much. I'll have some things to keep me occupied so work worries aren't eating my head all the time. Sunday D&D is still a thing and it's getting spicy for these guys. Silent Hill 2 drops in early access then too, so if I'm really feeling better, I can do a lovely spooky all-nighter and either way, I'll have James Sunderland's emotional issues made manifest in eldritch ways to distract me.
(Please, Bloober Team, don't have fucked this up...)

First line tag game!
Rules: post the first line of your 10 most recently published fics and see if you can draw a conclusion.
thank you for tagging me @toffeelemon!!!! i'm gonna tag @cloudywilmon @aro-of-artemis and @angelbabysimon
The warm summer day and a welcomed lull in cases had called for a special outing, according to Niko.
“Crown Prince Wilhelm?”
For as long as Wilhelm could remember, it had been drilled into him how he had to live his life: don’t have political opinions, be quiet but not too quiet, charm all the important people you meet, and most of all, find a nice girl from a family with influence to settle down with.
Jakob’s confident proclamation of “I’m going to stay awake until midnight!” to see all the pretty fireworks was quickly forgotten once they’d actually settled down on the couch.
As the imposing walls of Drottningholms Slott loomed before him, Simon briefly considered turning right back around.
chaotic gay: (11:39) just landed in sweden
There was nothing that Simon wanted to do less than go back to the party, but he thought if they didn’t, he’d be hopelessly ruined — if he wasn’t already.
Simon was tired.
Simon was cursing under his breath as he rushed into the venue, flashing his crew pass at the security guards.
Simon grimaced when he toed off his shoes, and his eyes caught sight of his reflection in the mirror.
my conclusion is that i love to make simon suffer sksks which means he's my favourite character lmaooo
also my longest fic has the longest first sentence lmfao
