Hey do you guys remember how long it took for Essek to show his natural awkwardness around the Nein? Do you remember how they were friends with him for three months before he even tried making jokes around them? Do you remember the long slow process of him letting down the Shadowhand mask and openly showing how much he enjoyed their antics?

Did you see Essek just being himself around Bell's Hells, this bunch of weirdos he'd never met, even as he pretended to be someone else? Did you see him cracking that dumb joke about his pretend mother being able to stop time with enough ale, and laughing with them? Did you see him watching them for all of five minutes and going, 'This has been a very interesting first impression. I'm excited to see how strange this gets!'

Do you realise how much easier and freer with people he is now? How despite dropping the Shadowhand sleekness and showing his awkward side, he somehow seems more confident? Do you realise that despite the situation right now, Essek seems happy?

NEVER WAS!! FOR DAZAI!! #and he DOESNT SEE IT!!! DOESNT SEE HOW IT AFFECTS AKUTAGAWA!!!! and yet he does.... #it is so crazy to me like the gray shades in these two #im obsessed with it all. atsushi not even seeing akutagawa as human. wanting him gone and not treating him properly #and you know akutagawa hates him soooo bad but where he lacks growth (dazai-shaped hole in his chest) he has a piece atsushi doesnt have #and it's self-sacrifice it's. seeing beyong it all. #i will be mega pissed if his sacrifice is all 'for dazai-san' BECAUSE. that is a love-language right there #he acknowlewged atsushi and tbh atsushi did too BUT he thought it was enough. but it never is bc akutagawa relives his trauma whenever he #sees him. and with dazai always acting like hes not good enough? with atsushi refusing to fully embrace him?? #who knows maybe he died thinking he wasnt good enough. #it's so sad bc im p sure i saw a giant post by op abt how in death atsushi doesnt realise/only realises #and like so true bestie. it takes a death for atsushi to snap out of it. to consider akutagawa. to see him as an actual ally #and akutagawa doesnt have untainted hands either but look. atsushi only ever caring abt good. only ever seeing worth in good #like it is so there. he cares abt kyouka bc shes not in control and doesnt want this. lucy touches his heart by being the same #and he sees akutagawa over and over again and he doesnt reach out. bc to him akutagawa isnt human. akutagawa cannot be saved #akutagawa is a reflection of himself. a terrible one. and he just wont see it. he just wont let him live #akutagawa.... my meowmeow

In rewatching the season, I'm noticing how clever Aabria and Brennan were in crafting Tula's story. How well thought out everything was.

Specifically, the bear. It's been mentioned so many times before, but with the context of the completed season, I cannot help but be in awe at the skilful storytelling at display here. The way in which the Blue is described to appear wrong only in reference to Tula and her heart, the way in which Tula talks about curiosity and and having experienced knowing someone who died because of it. Of how Aabria describes to Izzy how Tula looks when she heals the bear, of how Aabria specifically points out that Tula recognises the commonalities between herself and the bear. These breadcrumbs that mean little in the beginning, that tell everything at the end. It's amazing, stunning, masterful storytelling. I am in awe.

The whole "breasts shouldn't be politicized because the primary purpose of breasts is to feed babies!" can be a fine jumping-off point, but I really wish people thought deeper than that when we talk about the ways in which bodies are politicized and restricted.

Like, why's it that when we talk about breasts, they must have some Higher Purpose? It's true that breasts aren't inherently sexual, but they aren't valuable solely because they can potentially feed a baby. A human body doesn't have to serve a Higher Purpose in order for it to not be legislated against or policed, and I just wish people would remember it isn't always about babies, about other people, about anything else other than the people who have that body.
