Hellooo, I have a question! it's not related to TDJ, I was just curious if you are from any fandom (a singer/band/group fandom). You don't need to answer if you do not want!

I guess that depends on how you define "being from a fandom"? I'm a fan of a lot of singers/bands/groups, but I don't engage with the fandoms. Well, aside from the occasional reblogs from MVs and such, I guess? Nor do I take part in or consume the usual fandom content. I don't even watch interviews unless I have a really good reason to xD

So, based on that, I don't think I am from any fandoms?

Which I know sounds weird to some, but it's what works best for me. I prefer to just focus on the music itself because I have very little interest in getting to know the performers as people. Which some might argue limits my understanding of the music — since there might be deep, personal reasons for it — but it's just how I feel the most comfortable. I prefer to keep a certain distance between me and singers/idols/actors/authors etc. because I, personally, don't feel a need to know what goes on in the lives of these very real people. I just like the stuff they make :)

The only fandoms I'm in are those related to fictional media like movies, dramas, books etc., because that feels safer for me. I can obsess about a fictional character like it's my job, but I feel no such desire when it comes to real people. That's not to say I think it's wrong or weird for other people to do so — knock yourself out! I hope you have a lovely time! :D It's just not something I enjoy.

(Tbh, I'm often told that I'm the weird one? Like, a lot of people have questioned why I don't like to know more about the talented people whose content I consume because that seems to be the norm. But I guess I'm the exception that proves the rule ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ )

But, as mentioned, I'm a fan of a lot of things! Especially music! I've got a pretty hefty K-pop album collection at this point and have around 30 GB of music on my computer. But, even then, my focus is on the actual media itself and I rarely venture outside of that.

Love and Obsession: The Tim Drake Way

part 2

Everyone in the Batfamily knows Tim Drake has… issues with boundaries. They’ve spent years trying to teach him what’s appropriate and what’s—well—deeply unsettling and completely invasive. To be fair, he’s learned. Mostly. He doesn’t stalk his family anymore (much), and he no longer pulls up files on every single person they talk to (okay, maybe just sometimes). But it’s progress.

But then Tim starts dating Danny Fenton. And, oh boy, a few screws come loose.

It starts small, as always. Just little things. Tim’s a detective, after all—background checks are second nature. Danny’s living in Gotham, and Gotham isn’t safe. So, really, what’s the harm in knowing a little more about Danny’s friends? And his professors? And maybe also his classmates? It’s just standard protocol. Okay?

“Tim, you’ve run a full dossier on my entire biology class?” Danny asks one day, laughing as he flips through a file on the coffee table. Tim shrugs. “What if one of them is dangerous?” “Pretty sure the most dangerous thing in that class is the midterm.”

Danny doesn’t think much of it. He’s a little flattered, even. Tim’s protective. It’s sweet.

But Tim’s mind doesn’t stop there. Danny’s too handsome. Too charming. What if someone tries to hurt him? What if someone tries to take him away? It’s not obsessive—it’s just concern. So, a tracker on Danny’s phone? Necessary. Cameras in his apartment? Standard. Monitoring his sleeping patterns and hangout spots? Logical.

Tim tells himself it’s love. And maybe a little insecurity.

“You have a tracker on his phone?” Dick asks, trying not to sound alarmed. Tim nods, like it’s the most normal thing in the world. “Of course. What if something happens to him?” “And the cameras?” “Safety.” “The background checks on his professors?” “Gotham U isn’t exactly known for its stellar staff, Dick.”

It doesn’t stop there. Tim knows everything. Danny’s eating habits, his favorite places to go when he’s stressed, his childhood allergies. Tim’s mapped out Danny’s entire life. He knows about Danny’s ghost powers too—of course he does. He’s Tim Drake. The moment he realized Danny was Phantom, it just… clicked.

Danny being half-ghost? That’s just one more reason to worry. Tim’s up late at night, watching for any signs of ectoplasmic interference. He tracks the energy spikes. He monitors Danny’s fights.

He doesn’t think Danny knows. He’s terrified of what will happen if he finds out.

But then he does.

One evening, Danny walks into Tim’s apartment and casually drops a folder on the table. Tim’s heart stops.

“What’s this?” Danny asks, raising an eyebrow. Tim swallows hard. “I… it’s just…” “You’ve been tracking me?” Danny opens the file, glancing through pages of surveillance reports, background checks, even analysis of his ectoplasmic energy. Tim feels like his world is about to shatter.

“I… I can explain,” Tim says, his voice tight. “I’m just… worried about you. You’re in danger all the time, and I—” Danny walks over, cupping Tim’s face in his hands. Tim braces for the worst.

But Danny just smiles. “Can I put a tracker on you too?”

Tim blinks. “What?” Danny kisses his cheek. “If you’re watching my back, it’s only fair I watch yours. I need to make sure you’re safe too.”

Tim stares at him, speechless. Danny doesn’t look scared. Or angry. He looks… fond. Like Tim’s obsessive tendencies aren’t a problem at all.

“I’ve never had someone care about me this much,” Danny says softly. “I trust you with my life, Tim. This? This just proves how serious you are.”

Tim thinks he’s just fallen deeper in love.

The Batfamily? They’re worried.

Jason corners Tim in the cave. “Okay, so let me get this straight. You’ve got cameras in his apartment. You’ve mapped out his entire life. You’ve got a tracker on him and a heartbeat monitor. And he’s… fine with it?” Tim nods, a dreamy smile on his face. “Yeah. He even wants to put a tracker on me.” “That’s not… healthy, Tim,” Dick says carefully. “That’s—” “It’s mutual,” Tim interrupts. “We’re protecting each other.”

Bruce pinches the bridge of his nose. “Tim, this isn’t how relationships are supposed to work.” Tim shrugs. “It’s how ours works.”

Damian watches the whole thing with narrowed eyes. “This is deeply unsettling,” he mutters.

They try to talk to Danny. Intervention style. They invite him over, sit him down, and gently (or not so gently) try to explain that Tim’s behavior isn’t normal.

Danny just laughs. “You guys do know I’m half-ghost, right?” “That doesn’t mean—” Dick starts. “I spent my entire life being hunted by ghost hunters. I’ve had worse invasions of privacy.” Danny smiles. “Tim cares. He keeps me safe. That’s all I need.”

The bats don't quite know what to say.

Gotham’s version of love was never going to be normal. But this? This is a whole new level.

Jason is rereading Sense and Sensibility when his phone rings. He looks at the caller ID to make sure it's not Bruce. It's not Bruce, so he picks up.

Jason bookmarks the page and puts the paperback down: What's up, Shrimp?

Tim, sounding actually, genuinely sad: Despair.

Jason straightens: What? What's wrong?

He's two seconds from grabbing some guns and sprinting to his bike when Tim's voice interrupts that plan.

Tim: No one's dead! Chill! I just need some emotional support. Just tell me I'm not useless and this isn't a reflection on my competence.

Jason breathes out and relaxes back on the couch: If that's what you want, then why'd you call me?

Tim: Because it's Dick's mandatory self-care day and Babs threatened us to leave him alone even if the world is on literal fire.

Jason: So I'm your second choice.

Tim: No, Alfred and Cass are busy.

Jason: So I'm your fourth choice.

Tim: No, but Kon and Steph would laugh at my despair.

Jason: So would I.

Tim: Yeah, but at least you'd offer to feed me if I told you that I genuinely need emotional support right now.

Jason opens his mouth to say something snippy, then gives up and sighs.

Jason: Ugh. Fine. What's up?

Tim sniffs forlornly into the phone speaker: Despair.

Tim: I was trying to pick up my orange juice. And I lifted it too fast.

What.

Tim: So the drink went everywhere. On the floor. On the counter. On me. My place smells like orange juice and it's all my stupid arm's fault. Oh, and there's also glass everywhere. So I used my broom to pick up the glass, but it got on the orange juice and now it's sticky?

'Don't laugh don't laugh don't fucking laugh.'

Jason clears his throat, struggling to control his breathing: So did you clean it up the juice?

Tim: Yeah. But now my shirt's gross and I haven't done my laundry so I'm stuck with no shirt until I wash it.

Jason: Have you put the laundry in the washer yet?

He can just imagine Tim rolling his eyes through the phone: Yesss mom. Can you give me my pep talk now?

Jason: Gimme a sec.

He mutes the call and spends ten seconds laughing hysterically, holding his stomach and laughing until there are tears in his eyes. When that's done, he unmutes and in the most casually reassuring tone begins his Timbit Pep Talk.

Jason: Okay. I'm good.

Tim: You just laughed at my expense, didn't you.

Jason: Maybe. Not important. Listen here, what happened with your juice was an accident. Happens to the best of us. It doesn't change your worth as a person or your skills. You're still a kick-ass hero and everyone's still proud of you.

Tim: ...Wow. That actually made me feel better. Thanks, Jason.

Jason rubs his neck, embarrassed: Yeah yeah. We can watch a movie and eat some pizza before patrol, if you want.

Tim: With bacon, artichoke hearts, and onions?

Jason scowls: Ugh. Yes. I'll order your monstrosity. Come over in an hour.

Tim: Sounds good. Still a little worried about my arm though. It's never just jerked up like that.

Jason: Should probably see a doctor for it.

Tim: Yeah, probably. Man, I knew I should've said no to the electric shocks. I told Damian it wouldn't be effective.

Jason widens his eyes and prays he just misheard: What.

Tim: Oh right. We didn't tell you about the experiments.

Oh for the love of—

Jason: EXPERIMENTS???

Tim: It's not as bad as it sounds! We were just researching invasive thoughts! Just dabbling in neurology!! Totally safe! DON'T TELL BRUCE.

Jason as he's dialing a number on his second burner phone while holding this phone to his ear: Why the fuck would I tell him?!

Tim: Right. Okay, then DO NOT TELL DICK.

Jason scowls as Dick fails to pick up: Fine. But only because I value our kinship as forgotten middle children.

Tim: He didn't answer, did he.

Jason: Nope. He better be having a good fucking time after leaving me with this shit. Now I have to call Alfie and explain to him that you two fuckwads are experimenting on humans.

Tim: First of all, I'm the only one who was experimented on. Second, I'll give you twenty bucks if you don't tell anyone.

Jason: No deal.

Tim: Thirty and you can borrow Alfred for a week.

Jason wrinkles his nose: Alfie's not yours to barter with. I'm telling him that you tried to sell him off.

Tim: Not Alfred the human. The cat.

Jason: Not much better. The squirt's not gonna like you offering his cat.

Tim: He's part of the problem. He should help me fix it.

Jason taps his chin, contemplating: I want a favor from you both and the cat for a month.

Tim: Damian won't agree to losing Alfred for a month. How about two favors from us and no cat?

Jason: No. I want the cat. One month.

Tim: Two weeks.

Jason: Three.

Tim: One week, and I'll throw in a blackmail pic of Steph falling off a roof and landing inside a rat-infested Batburger dumpster.

Jason: Two weeks, and you have yourself a deal.

Tim: One week, and I'll give you the pic and a box of that super nice chocolate B likes.

Jason: ...Fine. I still want the two favors from you two. If anyone asks about what you and the squirt are doing, I know nothing about it.

Tim: Pleasure doing business with you. I have to go put my clothes in the dryer now.

Jason: Yep. See you later.

They end the call. Immediately Jason gets up to do some stress baking. Why do all his siblings have to be freaks? It's so fucked up that the Dead Robin, the literal Crime Lord, is the most normal one.

till makes it his mission to expose the aliens (mostly ivan. he has personal beef with him) to the rest of humanity, but he's the boy who cried wolf. no one believes him because he's been talking about aliens and bigfoot and mothman and whatever nonstop all his life.

till loves the supernatural but also fears it. it consumes most of his waking thoughts. he doesn't like how quickly the aliens grow close to mizi out of a desire to protect her from the (presumed) threat. he's kinda like if dib invader zim was some gay art kid instead of like a supergenius

this threatening feeling comes from till assuming that ivan and sua are on earth for some kind of conquest and or abduction reasons. are they actually? who knows...

mizi is a bit of a hopeless romantic and finding out that sua was an alien only served to make her fall for her more. she could think of nothing more romantic than this scenario, actually. even till screaming danger at her cannot deter her from her love

ivan fights with till and riles him up because he finds how expressive he is utterly fascinating. he says its to "learn more about humans" but mostly he just wants till's attention. he himself doesn't know why he wants this attention, though.

sua and ivan experience a range of emotions in a similar way to humans, yet their species is discouraged from acting emotionally and isnt taught about what any of their feelings mean. all they know, at the start, is that these humans draw some kind of strange feelings out of them that they've never felt before.

(it sticks with the overall theming of alnst being about trying to understand exactly what love means.)

ivan and sua's earpieces are multipurpose tools. they're connected directly to the brain and can't be taken off. they can be used to generate their disguises (its a hologram type of thing), works as a translator so they can communicate with other alien species, etc.

what looks kind of like a nose on the aliens' faces is not a nose. their antennas are used as their olfactory system (they are also quite sensitive)

till is no longer crushing on mizi at this point in his life. sometime during middle school mizi came out to him as a lesbian and so he told her he liked her and it was a whole thing and they both cried. it ended up serving to strengthen their friendship. its been about 4 years-ish since then and theyre still inseparable

till works some kind of shitty service job part time, at which he met hyuna. she's like his cool older college friend and sort of older sister. he plays with her band sometimes

this takes place in who the fuck knows where midwest united states, and the humans are korean-american. till is first generation and usually speaks korean with his mom at home

it takes a while for till to first get a glimpse of ivan and sua's undisguised forms, though when he finally does something about them seems oddly familiar to him.

mizi sees sua's undisguised form long before till does. she does not tell him this

luka is an alien too. wonder what he's up to...

Something that kills me is that there’s no way in hell that Raph’s debilitating separation anxiety isn’t infinitely worse after the movie. The trauma of being Krangified like that, all alone, would probably regress him so hard.

Not to mention his worries of getting “weird” would likely get mixed up with his experience while Krangified - aka, he loses full awareness, and when he’s brought “back” it’s to the understanding that he attacked his own family (of course not to his own fault at all, but how much of that does he believe?)

The fear of being alone would take on another layer and become a fear of himself.

Personal headcanon about the "you picked the wrong dellamorte" line, I don't think illario actually likes rook outside the context of them being someone close to lucanis. Like rook on their own isn't much to him, but when they meet it's yet another person talking about his cousin (why isn't he good enough for whatever job they're hiring for?) and on top of that they somehow bring him back from the dead (another whole can of worms for illario). Now he starts turning on the charm, but whether he's actually interested or this is just one more thing his cousin has that he doesn't and it gets under his skin, who knows. Either way, rook ignores illario, the guy who lives off his charm, and is instead interested in the guy who's never even dated before and thinks giving someone a knife is how to flirt. Infuriating

NO THANK YOU !! i am genuinely sorry if i have ever implied illario is into rook like i see some takes about it and unless it like ties into your rook's personal backstory i don't seriously think he's romantically jealous. at all. my enjoyment of that line stems from illario's pathological need to make it about himself and not see his strengths but what lucanis has, and therefore what he doesn't. he's annoyed enough to try and goad you in the middle of a fight about the 'wrong' dellamorte and completely blind to the fact that the venatori are at best, a stupid fucking alliance, and at worst, a cult that will devour the crows from the inside out and illario would have been the one to give them the keys. he sees lucanis make allies, needs his own, and instead of charming the other talons/houses as he should, he (probably spitefully) picks the venatori. or maybe he just thought it would be easier. ugh he makes me want to telekenetically throw him around
