Fuck it, how does Roer and Elq react to Cellbit being alive on Purgatory?

My bad for the late reply, I got confused cause I thought I missed something and I had to read several wiki pages

Like in canon, Roier is replaced with Doied, but it's a lot less seamless. Elq is, at his core, a paranoid bastard, so he instantly clocks that 'Roier' is different but due to the whole 'Our husband is missing' situation (Doied barely keeps his composure at Elq's assertions that they are married) Elq decides to just keep an eye (and several security cameras) on him.

Doied doesn't go with Richas and Pomme to go grab them because he wasn't confident in his ability to pretend to be Roier in front of both his husbands(?) (He still isn't really sure if Elq was just committed to the bit or if they were unofficially married). Elq goes but only because BBH convinced him.

Elq wanted to stay behind to make sure the eggs were safe but was visibly tearing himself apart over not being able to go find Cellbit first hand so BBH goes out of his way to convince him to go look for him with Richas and Pomme (It takes a lot of fake evil monologuing and saying that he'll look after Pepito with 'Roier' while he's gone).

Richas still finds Cellbit first, but Elq is not far behind. (The whole thing about how Cellbit got back is kinda confusing and unclear to me so sorry if I get details wrong). Richas is there, doing Richas things, when Elq comes running yelling at him to not be an idiot and not wander off. Then he sees Cellbit.

and there's a silent and still moment where both of them are too afraid to move. Too afraid to speak. Then it's broken with a "Guess you're not dead." from Elq that's hiding so much emotion behind it.

That's all it takes for Cellbit to tackle Elq in a hug. Elq may or may not be his husband, Cellbit will probably never know, but he does know that he loves him. Romantically, Platonically, it doesn't matter and Cellbit never bothered to distinguish it. In the end, he loves Elq deeply and that's all that matters.

☆ ┈ Almost all of the "gifts" from Acronix are stolen, and you may even find a few items from your home. If you ask him about it, he will honestly admit that after your abduction, he broke into your room a couple of times to look for something interesting in your things.

☆ ┈ Acronix tries to be romantic, but he's quite clingy and protective. He doesn't want you to show interest in anyone but him, the only person he allows you to talk to is his brother, and Krux doesn't particularly want to talk to you...

☆ ┈ Usually, the topics of your conversations with Acronix are divided into two topics: about what wonderful technology is, and how you two would look great as a couple.

☆ ┈ He the one who talks most of the time and you don't say anything, but he also likes to ask you sudden questions to make sure you're listening to him. If you don't, he won't be particularly offended, he'll just playfully scold you.

☆ ┈ Acronix will want to take you with him to the Iron Doom, what kind of lover would he be if he left you alone? Although this is also due to the fact that the idea that you could rely only on him sounds attractive to him. After all, if you find yourself in the past, where will you go?

☆ ┈ However, he awkwardly accept your attention. Morro isn't sure if he should have stayed at all, most likely the only reason he's still here is because he wanted to stay with Master Wu.

Hello hello! This is Relating to the prison au and the idea suddenly came to me but how would it differ if the mc was a a lot younger like an intern? I tried searching more if it was even allowed to be a med student intern in a prison but I dunno I just thought it was a neat idea, like if she appeared like an optimistic platonic younger sister more than a romantic interest? Aaaa sorry English isn't my first language I hope the idea got through ^^'

I want to congratulate you, anon... you're the first person in a long time to ask something related to prison au that has never been asked before!

Sans: Unfortunately, he'll be even worse. More manipulative, more possessive... more evil. With an older Mc he might see her as easy to manipulate, but he still absolutely views her as her own person- he'd do bad stuff but he (at least) would still respect her opinions and choices. When she's young, he does not respect her opinions and choices. She's just a kid who doesn't know better, someone who needs him to make the big decisions on her behalf.

The worst part is, once he attaches, he sees her like a little sister. It really fucks up his mind- all of those messy, dark, painful feelings about Papyrus, all that unresolved grief from losing one younger sibling... he doesn't care what happens to anyone. Or anything. So long as he doesn't lose any more family.

He's kind to her; oh-so-kind, a sweet and goofy older brother figure who makes terrible puns and chats to her for hours about her favourite videogames. But he's a terrifying empty creature, and he's absolutely going to use her youth and inexperience to his advantage, to make her trust him more than everyone else. Nothing is off the table.

Red: Red adores her. Much like Sans, he ends up in something of a 'big brother' role- the difference is that Red's connection with her is a lot healthier and gentler, with a decent amount of friendly 'fighting' (tossing harmless insults at each other). He turns into a different person around her; he minds his language somewhat, he manages his temper better, although he teases her his teasing never has any venom and he'll drop jokes that upset her. He was built to be a big brother, and he misses his Papyrus a lot- it feels good to have a bond like that with someone again.

(Speaking of Papyrus- he loves Mc too. He sees the effect she has on Red and he absolutely wants to encourage the positive growth. Also... he always wanted a younger sibling.)

Red makes jokes about giving her contraband or getting her in trouble, and her presence in his life has put her firmly on the inmate no-touch list. Red may be a criminal, and he may associate with people who have done terrible things... but he reserves the worst of the worst punishments for those who hurt kids, and his family. Let alone both.

She's been adopted by the mob.

Skull: Skull's intense feelings about Mc in the prison aus aren't really specifically romantic or platonic in the first place. It's his Soul crying out for love and connection after so long alone. They're just Skull Feelings- so a platonic Mc would see the same degree of insanity, desperation and clinginess from our darling cannibal as her older nurse counterpart.

But... I think he would be a bit better with her, overall. Mc being noticeably younger, in his eyes, makes her more 'fragile'- both emotionally and physically. That nagging thought of i need to be careful and responsible would centre him a little more, make him more aware, gentle and slow. In the same way he wouldn't want to frighten a small child, he doesn't want to frighten her; he moves like hes trying not to spook away a small animal. He'd be better at smiling.

... He would still get moments where he can't help himself. Moments where he snaps out of restraints and grabs her, moments where he attacks other staff for getting too close to her. But he tries.

Pick whichever Mercs you would like, though I will humbly request Demo or Merasmus (because I love them). GNC reader, romantic or platonic, in whatever format you like. The Reader is a Tenth Class, and has been working on the team for a long time. On the battlefield, they are scarily good at their job, probably the most "professional" on the team, as they don't even taunt or even speak that much during the fight. Just complete the objective, nothing else matters. They are strong, smart, and decently fast, all three being a bit above the average human. Off the battlefield, they are also very quiet. They barely spoke to anyone *period* in the beginning, and don't seem to have any hobbies. They just eat, sleep, and train. It took a long, long time for them to even begin being at all friendly with their teammates. There is certainly *potential* for quite the sweet, chill person underneath, but it rarely shows itself. When asked, Reader doesn't really recall having a life before working at Mann Co. No family to return to, no childhood fondness, nothing. All they know is how to do their job and maintain their body physically. This whole time, it hadn't even occurred to anyone that Reader isn't even getting paid. It is both rather surprising and not surprising at all when it is discovered that Reader was essentially grown in a lab. Why hire mercenaries when you can create your own supersoldiers? This is definitely not merc based, more of 'general thinking' than anything specific.

There was something… off, about you. Ever since you joined the team there was an underlying feeling but no one could ever put a label on it.

No one minded how you fought, swift and simple. Wasting no time with taunting like some others, only talking to give callouts. Soldier appreciated you, as in his words, “You’re a strong Soldier, Sergeant! Keep it up and you might get promoted!”

Scout, Soldier and Demo often wandered off, getting distracted by upping the others in kills. Which left you to stay on the objective, you weren’t complaining though, you never did. On or off the battlefield, you barely even spoke.

If anyone needed you they could find you in one of three places, the kitchen, your room or the training area. So not many got the chance to talk to you, mostly the occasional small talk from Spy and Engineer. They were the only ones able to notice the different person underneath, unable to reach them though.

On the occasional nights where all the mercs spend some time together, the topic of family and life before, came up. There was the obvious, nice, classic family life from most of them. The occasional complaining about family, and the few that said nothing. When it came to you though? Nothing came to mind.

“C’mon Lad, what about ya’ family?” “I… don’t know.” “What do ya’ mean?” “I don’t remember anything…” You couldn’t. No matter how much you try, no family came to mind, no fond memories or anything. The only things you could remember was your job and your body, the minimum to survive.

This caused Medic to look at your medical file, something he appartently never did. It held your basic information, but there it was. No family listed or anything related, nothing personal. So to find more he waited for Miss Pauling to do her checks.

“Ah, Miss Pauling! I have a question.” “Medic, what do you need?” “It’s about Y/N, zhey have no information on zheir medical file.” He watched as her face dropped before her eyes did. “I thought someone would ask sooner, but let’s talk.”

Back in the infirmary Miss Pauling slid over a decently sized folder. It contained everything and more about you. You were basically a better human, a supersoldier. Pages upon pages detailed how they perfected you, the process of your creation. Even mentioning your preprogrammed memories.

While he wasn’t that surprised at the lack of payment compared to everyone elses millions, he was more shocked at the Administrator. And slightly disappointed in Miss Pauling, not that he would ever tell her.

Introducing Kumli💕: My Red Lump OC

I worked on her before I got sick, and I like her design a lot! So here's a few things about her <3

Kumli is part red lump, like Jjok! However, when in her humanesque form, she prefers to keep her beautiful crimson skintone because Asmo compliments it a lot.

Just as Ppyong, Jjok, and Jjyu hang around their respected devils, Kumli does too! She hovers around Asmo when he returns from Earth, and when he's away she stays around Phenix who watches her and adores her ^^ Abaddon devils like Kumli in either form but they only intimately engage with her when she's not in her red lump form.

What's her kink?

Gold. She also seems to be really into Mammon 💀 She says his chest looks nice to lay in and she hopes that one day His Majesty Asmodeus will let her stay in Tartaros for more than a few minutes. She's not exactly banned or anything, it's just...with her kink she looses her sense of focus and self and this causes the devils of Tartaros to flock to her and give her more golden trinkets to hear her happily chirp, cry, and moan because it "sounds absolutely cute"

If she's only part red lump, what's the other?

just regular ol' devil ^^, she was created back when Lilith was still around because Asmo requested for his own little red lump because he finds them "cute" as companions.

Is she aware of her other family?

She knows she has cousins and actually has met Jjok before! She needed to visit Paradise Lost because she got sick and only Lucifer could see what was wrong with her. They got along just fine and she calls him her older brother. She thinks it's funny that he pisses himself and often scares him because of it when she's around him.

Does she help with battles and other things like the nobles of Abaddon?

She can absolutely, as she's quite powerful in her second form. However, Asmodeus prefers she doesn't until she's actually needed.

Okay here's the real question, does she get f r e a k y?

Well, yes! She is very selective though, unlike most of Abaddon, and her attraction works differently. In order to sleep with her, a devil must give her a gold item. That gets them 30 seconds of her time though and if they don't finish before hand, too bad.

If the devil is a native of Tartaros she's more inclined to give them more attention. A full lovely minute 💀💀

The only devil she truly has a lot of play time with is Phenix tbh.

What's her relationship with Asmo though?

Asmo may have an over abundance of sexual desire, however he and Kumli only ever show romantic/platonic affection such as him giving her praises, golden items from Earth, and butterfly kisses. As a red lump she likes burying herself in his hair and hiding there, and in her second form she runs around with her carrying his long hair that trails behind him. She does give him a love bite or two out of just showing affection. She admires her King and loves how he compliments her eye, saying that's the best feature in her design because he knows how self conscious she is about it because everyone around her mostly has two or multiple eyes. When he has meetings with the other kings, she doesn't come along because he doesn't want Mammon to take her from him (oddly yes he is possessive of Kumli! She's his red lump companion)

What about her relationship with Ronove and Dantalian?

Ro prefers her red lump self because he can pet her affectionately and call her cute names. Dan likes her second form because he feels she can help him antagonize angels more that way and she punches him better in that form (true story)

How would she react to MC?

She would request MC to give her a gold item as a joke, but she's very friendly. Knowing that MC owns Mammon though, Kumli is curious and wonders if that means Mammon would hang around a lot because of this. Yes, yes she can be mischievous but it's only because she wants to be in Tartaros s o badly because of all the gold lol.

How do the other kings react to her?

Lucifer has met her before and is neutral about her existence. She entertains Jjok and that's enough for him to think she's okay.

Mammon finds her interesting because of her kink for Gold. In fact, he wants to keep her as a pet because of that thinking she'd be great in keeping track of all his treasures.

Leviathan does not like her only because she belongs to Asmodeus. He also thinks her second form has too little clothing and draws too much attention so he's annoyed if he even has to see her or hear about her.

Belphegor? Well he's asleep most of the time, Beleth is really the one that runs into her and he finds her adorable. Too bad Kumli bites Beleth everytime he comes around her. No one is sure why she does it.

Satan likes Kumli despite her being affliated with Asmo. He says that shes one of the many red lumps he wouldn't kick around because she seems "badass". Plus he likes that she causes trouble as he finds it amusing.

Theory of Love Episode 7: Flipped

Welp, I knew the streak couldn't last. We are once again being subjected to a terrible romcom in Flipped--this one Third's actual favorite film, and don't think I am not judging him hard for that--but at least this one has some really strong thematic ties to the episode. It's clear why we needed to watch it (and why Third is such a mess).

Bryce moves into a new neighborhood and immediately meets Juli, the neighbor girl that he dislikes on sight because she *checks notes* is friendly and interested in him while being poor. Bryce hails from an upper middle class family of snobs with a bigoted father, while Juli's family is working class and looked down on by their neighbors. The film flips back and forth between their perspectives as they grow up in proximity to each other. Juli has a hopeless crush on Bryce and Bryce is dismissive of her attention until she finally stops giving it to him, at which point he realizes he actually does like her and tries to win her back. The film tracks Bryce through this evolution as well as the realization that his father is a POS, while Juli gains confidence and learns to thrive despite her family's struggles, though not enough to ditch this horrible boy.

This movie was not good. It is based in an idyllic fake nostalgic fantasy version of 1950s/60s America in which everyone is white and says things like "gee whiz," and misogyny and ableism run rampant through every moment of the film. I dislike this genre of American films as a rule, and this was a particularly noxious version of it. The structure of the film is frustrating, with constant intrusive voiceovers that flip between the lead characters to explain every obvious detail of their very easy to interpret emotions, and circular returns back in time to go over every moment of the plot twice from both POVs. To top it off, the romance was gross, with a kind, smart, and interesting girl fixated on a mean little turd of a boy for no discernible reason.

That said, watching this was very illuminating for understanding Third's mindset, his silly romantic fantasies, and how exactly he got so off course in the way he approached his relationship with Khai. On the fundamentals of their personalities and the foundational relationship they developed, Khai and his treatment of Third is really not similar to Bryce and Juli. Khai was Third's friend, and he always cared about him. But it's easy to see how Third projected the idea of Bryce onto him and thus projected his wish for Khai to follow Bryce's trajectory in the film and suddenly realize he does love him after all.

And in some ways, that actually is starting to happen. We ended last week with Khai's realization that he may have feelings for Third just as Third is finally moving on from him, which closely echoes the plot of Flipped. This week, we are with Khai as he begins to sort out these feelings, trying out placing Third in a different context in his head and surprising himself by how much it doesn't trouble him. I like the way the show takes us through Khai's bisexual awakening and the messy way he tries to fit Third into a dating context. He starts out trying to just sub Third in for the girls he's dating, imagining him taking the place of girls in his memories, but he can feel that this is not quite right even as he doesn't know how to envision another way of being for him and Third in a romantic context. He knows he wants to be close to him again, and he knows his feelings are no longer platonic, but he doesn't know much else about how to go about this.

Watching Khai struggle with this is cathartic, and it was honestly a relief to be out of Third's perspective and see him from the outside as someone Khai is trying to understand. Khai attempts to flirt with him using the same tricks he uses on girls, which of course do not actually work on Third (though he's not completely immune; I was laughing at Third starting to swoon from Khai getting flirty up in his face and then snapping out of it and getting mad). Third is not a girl, and he's also Khai's best friend who is thoroughly sick of his shit, so Khai is not going to be able to win him over with some surface level nonsense. Khai is struggling to figure out what it means to try to be romantic with another man as well as trying to work through the mindset shift of moving Third out of the "friend" box and into the "faen" box that we know he keeps in his head. This is also the first time Khai has actually cared about the object of his affection; he can't just brush it off if Third doesn't respond to him. He is being forced to grow because if he doesn't, he will lose Third even more than he already has. (As a side note, I do think the way the show hovers over the bubble/not bubble line weakens this emotional arc. I will plan to unpack that more when we get to the end of the story.)

This episode has many references to Flipped, not just in the obvious reference to changing perspectives and Khai doing a heel turn on his feelings for Third, but also throughout the plot. We see Khai's initial confession that he likes Third denied and discouraged by his brother, similar to what Bryce experienced with his best friend in the film. The episode also includes Khai's brother offering him up to girls and a charity auction in which Third's copy of Flipped is auctioned off in a pointed rebuff of Khai, because Khai is the one who bought it for him. @bengiyo reminded me that in episode 4, we actually saw Khai pretend to like this movie as a way of getting in Third's good graces, though we know he does not actually like it (he is right and Third is very wrong). Flipped shares a flaw with a few of the other romcoms on this list, in that the male lead doesn't suffer any real consequences for treating the female lead like shit and is easily accepted once he has a change of heart. I continue to to think this show is in dialogue with that romance construct, and determined to dismantle it.

My Papa Headcannons for that Story I Keep Saying I'm Going To Write, I Swear:

Primo

Has a large greenhouse on the grounds of the abbey that is also attached to his private quaters/living studio

He grows all types of plants from medicinal to poisonous to those that are only for show (those are usually placed within the gardens outside)

He makes a lot of recipes for salves, balms, teas, ect. That are used in the infirmary. He also keeps a second separate greenhouse for consumables such as vegetables and fruits

He's knowledgeable and still a practitioner of occult magick, almost akin to a wizard/warlock, however most of his magick is more or less alchemical

He had a Prime Mover by the name of Elizabeth, however she became ill and was allowed to leave the abbey to travel back to her homeland to seek treatment and lay to rest in her family's plot. They never had kids.

His ghouls don't have any type of mask, but they constantly wear their robes to cover their faces. They only speak telepathically as well. It's rumored they don't even have mouths, only eyes.

Secondo

He honestly only acts a bad ass, but he's straight up terrified of witches

He's also supremely superstitious

He does have hobbies, though they're not really well known. However many around the abbey do suspect that the little paper origami ghoul masks seen around from time to time are his handiwork

He also cares about his siblings wayy more than he lets on, though he's more protective of Primo; he believes that the only way for Terzo to learn anything is the hard way

His ghouls don't talk. Like, at all. They communicate through body language and stares. They also wear robes that cover their face, though theirs include a faceless mask without any detail other than simple eyeslits. The base is infinity black too.

Secondo is also very literate and intelligent, however he lacks the wisdom that Primo posses, so he does tend to make more of an ass out of himself

Terzo

This fucking guy right here is the CLUMSIEST motherfucker in the world

"Gotta watch out for those invisible rugs!" And "It's not my fault, I just need new shoes!" Are his go to excuses for any time he trips/falls/stumbles, especially in front of my OC or any kids at the abbey

Speaking of kids, he's also the only Papa to spend as much time at the abbey orphanage as he does- he loves kids, cherishes each of them as if they could be his own, and wants the best world for them to all grow up in

He's also actually extremely stupid goofy and very uncharismatic around someone he has actual romantic interests in

His ghouls look as they do in their "human" form as we see them: metal masks with chiseled hair and horns, eye slits and some facial features, and the blurred mouthpiece. They can talk, and have personality, since he summoned them to be his friends and counterparts in rituals, rather than just backups

He takes his role as Papa very seriously, but keeps the atmosphere positive and likes his schedule to have flexibility, just in case there's ever a Sibling of Sin with an issue, and they need the extra ear to listen or shoulder to cry on

More shy as a cardinal, but when he's forced into his Papalcy he also forces himself to open up

He is super open about being LGBQTA+ friendly, and shows support to all types of people, with a firm belief that gender and sexuality of any nature doesn't define who you are as a person

His main focus at the abbey is equality, whether its between Siblings or Ghouls, he feels every one should know their life is worth being here for.

He's also super invested in mental health

He does prefer the company (intimate and platonic) of his ghouls versus humans

Lastly he acknowledges his forerunners and brothers' achievements and passions, especially post mortem, and makes sure their ghouls are well taken care of. He sees to it that the right people tend to Primo's gardens, that the occult and supernatural trophies and items Secondo secured are all well guarded and maintained, and that the orphanage and school have sufficient funds for everything they need (the children are the future after all)

He also likes to stay on top of mainstream and social media for the fans, the congregation, and for the kids. Making sure people are genuinely enjoying their life is his goal.

Where. Do I. Begin?

Listen here man. A lot of people love this ship. If you're not familiar with this ship, people have called this ship Daynap.. which is a very lazy name, I'm not gonna lie to any of you. Like come on, something could have been used better. If not Eclipse, like I'm calling it, fuckin DAYDREAM is right there, but I'm getting ahead of myself.

A lot of people love seeing people with the day and night theming and I don't particularly blame them, and I DEFINITELY don't blame them if they see the same with Catnap and Dogday. The thing is though, personally for me, they're like unofficial twins. In others words, I see these two like siblings.

People with similar functions but do things at different times. And for these two, that's being there for their friends in my humble opinion. Dogday is firm, he's a leader, he takes things a little seriously but isn't afraid to lend a hand and you're able to see his more friendly and mischievous side.

Catnap is the opposite. He's mischievous and always up to something, but he never means it in a harmful way and doesn't hesitate to help one of his friends when they need it, which would show his hidden serious side. See what I just did there?

They're the same in a sense. They're twins, they're brothers. But with these similarities I can see them having a bond more than that, If I also didn't have people already ship them with.

Looking at you Simon, Allister, and Touille.

These two are brothers, best friends, and ride or dies. They are essentially two people who meet in every universe someway, somehow and are always connected to each other. And the first step is usually as friends. Some more rocky than others. And I cherish those platonic bonds as someone who is Aroace. That doesn't mean I CAN'T be romantic, but I love platonic relationships.

And besides, even a platonic relationship can have betrayal hidden under it. Seeing these two go through hardship day in and day out, Dogday somehow more than Catnap on multiple occasions, really hurts, but I love seeing them happy, moreso the two of them being happy together. They don't have to be in love to be happy, is what I mean.

You can hold hands without it being romantically involved, you know? Most would call it qpr, which is fine, but, I just prefer them as a sibling bond.

Someone you'd treat as a sibling even though they really aren't. And that's enough to make me happy. In a sense, the term Found Family/Siblings works with what I'm trying to say.

Also i feel like one of the funniest ideas to me is an mc/yuu who is kinda oblivious to romantic intent but only because they're just very physically affectionate and are willing to get their need for affection needs met if that makes sense. Like if they need to find friends then they'll find themselves something (online or in their area) and if they need friends that are chill with physical platonic affection then they'll do their best to find em. Also when i say oblivious to romantic intent, it's not necessarily low emotional intelligence (they can clock if someone's upset and can pinpoint connections between others but they tend to forget to include themselves in the equation if that makes sense) but since they're very high energy and affectionate (plus willing to go get that need for platonic affections met) the usual subtleties of some of the cast romantic affections tend to overlap with their platonic affectionate actions.

Hand holding? They hold hands with whoever with little thought. Holding Deuces paw/claw registers the same as holding Grim's paw in terms of affection. They'll hold the sleeve of a buddy cause that's their buddy dang it and if they aren't shaken off then they'll keep holding until they need to go do their thing or need both hands.

Leaning on another? Cuddling? Sure sure! They did this with their previous friends and family and such. Lean on whoever is trusted enough and willing

Part of the reason they're romantically oblivious is because they forget to take themselves into the equation for social dynamics when figuring out why folks are reacting and behaving in certain ways plus human flirting is hard to clock as it tends to overlap with friendliness and helpfulness/politeness and thus appear similar so trying to clock flirting in another world while not being great at identifying in the first place means Mc/Yuu just ain't gonna clock it.

That sounds pretty cute.

Hello my coolest of mutuals! In honor of pride month, I need your help figuring something out. I've got a good lock on most of my characters sexualities, even if I don't tend to write much romance. However, there's one exception to that: Ivander. I have no clue what his sexuality is, and even if it has no bearing on his story arc, I'd like your help to finally figure it out.

Here's his deal for anyone else who wants to assist.

Ivander has flirted with a woman once on-page. Did he mean it? I'm not sure, but it didn't go anywhere. His curse and self-consciousness have kept him from getting close to anyone romantically for years. He was raised in an overwhelmingly heteronormative environment, where his duty was to marry a wealthy woman and provide an heir - love not playing any role in such things. The only relationship he ever had as an example after his mother disappeared was his uncle and aunt. They were an arranged pair who didn't share any love, but were friendly with each other. After he escaped his family and before his curse got too bad, I think he would've pursued relationships with women because that's what he assumed he'd like, but he also probably had at least one half-recalled fling with a man that he has some confused feelings over. Once his curse did get bad though, he kept himself from getting close with just about anybody, refusing to so much as entertain the idea of a sexual or romantic relationship. He hopes that once his curse is broken, he'll be free to pursue these relationships, but it's not like he has a crush on anyone he's waiting to ask out. The only person he's close to currently is his detective partner, Ceyrel.

Is he a confused aromantic who hasn't realized that there are different kinds of relationships that can fill the loneliness in his life? Was he too saturated with heteronormative ideals as a kid and too antisocial now to know he's gay? Is he demi and are those platonic feelings for Ceyrel romantic instead? I have no idea and it plays absolutely no role in his arc, but I still should probably know as the author, even if he as the character doesn't.
