oh no sorry i guess i should’ve been more clear. i’m not one of the people who make the Datamine Prophets but i’m in a discord server with them & one of them showed us a preview of adult Tulip earlier & i just thought i’d let you know because i know how much you like her. sorry i should’ve clarified more, but i hope you’ve seen her in the new Datamine Prophet that came out earlier she looks really cool imo.

Ah! Well, either way, doesn't really matter to me. Whether you're a data-miner or you know one, the point is that you are a lovely and kind person who shared something wonderful with me and got me hyped for something that was coming out - and boy you were not exaggerating! I saw the adult Tulip sprite and it is actual fire. Easily the best one so far. I realize that I am biased but still. Actual fire.

I guess this confirms that Tulip dyes her hair after all, (but there are still enough examples for my "magic affects pigmentation" head-canon to stand.) and whoa nellie does she actually really rock the black hair? Especially with the little highlight? My god, this gives her a parallel with Merula for having a different colored streak in her hair (even if the "dead starfish" appears to be genetic.) especially since it's confirmed that Merula dyes her eyes!

Speaking of, I'm sorry, but when I saw that sprite, all rainbows and stars, and saw Tulip's glow-up, all I could imagine was Luca and Merula both gaping at her makeover, right, and Merula invoking the meme, "Boy, if I wasn't gay before..."

This really struck me because I just finished watching the Clone Wars Zillo Beast Arc for the first time, including the part where a group of prominent Republic figures – a microcosm of the Republic to my eyes – discuss what to with the titular character.

Among Chancellor Palpatine, Dr. Boll, Jedi Knight Skywalker and Jedi Master Windu, Mace Windu was alone in advocating for preserving the Zillo Beast’s life – and doing so simply because this being was a living thing. To Mace, the Zillo beast had intrinsic value for living that should not be infringed upon. He did not hesitate to offer up valuable Ships and effort to preserve this found life.

Palpatine, even acting out the kindly Chancellor, and Anakin are both initially against this, believing the Zillo Beast’s life didn’t have enough worth to bother saving. Anakin sees the Zillo Beast as a danger and to be killed/destroyed because it is dangerous. Palpatine, again despite the ‘kindly Chancellor’ façade, still desires Space Oil over this life.

Even Dr. Boll only speaks up for the Zillo beast by pointing out its value beyond the intrinsic – its hide is indestructible and could be studied and perhaps synthesized for the war effort. That Capitalistic value of a being’s life is what convinces both Palpatine and Anakin to preserve its life and ultimately Anakin comes up with a plan to both appease the Dugs and keep the treaty and get the Zillo Beast away – alive. But only after he sees the military value, not the intrinsic value, of this being.

So I’d agree that the Jedi have become detached (except Anakin, who is all too in sync with the modern Republic) out of touch and isolated from the Republic like lots of fandom says – but that’s the Republic’s damn fault. It’s clear from just one of the High Republic series that this wouldn’t have been argued. Mace represents the Jedi here and the Jedi have chosen to stick by their morals while the rest of the Republic chucked them out the window and sauntered vaguely downward.

And so, like with the Zillo beast, when the Republic stops finding the Jedi (or, for that matter, the Clones) useful, it too has no qualms with their deaths. Even the Dr. Bolls of the Republic, who do have some respect for the intrinsic value of life, divorced from any capitalistic value, have more respect for the orders of the Sith.

“Anakin Skywalker was the best Jedi” uh no that was Mace Windu. Mace was the best Jedi.
