...you know what I just thought of? They could've made Barry's behavior in the s4 prison arc (not running from the scene of the crime even tho he very well could get away and claim ignorance of the body, confessing to his crime and all present evidence in full, refusing to out himself as the Flash even though it might help) make so much more sense if they'd just done one thing:

Have DeVoe frame someone other than Barry.

Think about it: Barry has proven time and time again that he'd fall on the sword for any of his loved ones. Even for people he barely knows, like Wally back in s2! DeVoe could've rubbed two brain cells together and gone “hmm. I'll frame Iris West-Allen, since it's her loft too and I'll be using her wedding gift. Then, Barry Allen will take full blame, especially as she's his wife...and because of the nature of the framing, with them being a married couple who live together and use the same everything, the evidence could point to him too, especially if he helps that narrative along. And Mrs. West-Allen will, of course, be vulnerable...and more likely to jump at Marlize's throat...so I'll have more evidence to put pressure on Barry if he falters in taking the blame.”

Like!! It would've been so easy!! Barry saying "don't run" would've made more sense, him confessing so fully would've made sense, everything would've made more sense!

💁🏿‍♂️The Flash has SO much more mythos to explore beside Flashpoint. Plenty of speedsters & allies, plenty of Rogues & other antagonists.

Whether y'all know / respect them or not, they are there.

-could easily sustain multiple simultaneous, continuing comic titles (even if its just a main Flash title & a slice-of-life, like a speedster version of Batman: Wayne Family Adventures)

-should have multiple seasons of an animated TV show

-should have a movie trilogy by now 🤷🏿‍♂️

Like...give them more! Around the world, across time, throughout the multiverse! It'd surely mean coming up w/ new Rogues & other threats beside the ones we're familiar with, but that works for me; they (and we, their fans) deserve more! 🤩

haven’t watched the flash in like 100 years but got jumpscared by someone posting westallens “we’re the flash scene” and complaining about it. the post had like thousands of likes and i just sit there for a moment confused (not really, everyone knows why they’re really mad) about what was so outrageous about that scene to begin with???

all iris is literally telling barry is that he doesn’t have to face things alone, that they will always find a way to face whatever problem/enemy that may come. she is comforting and being there for her soulmate and husband-to-be???

but no, you’ll have dumbass #1 and #2 commenting things like “ok iris you go fight the reverse flash then”, completely missing the point of the scene because their own hatred for iris is apparently much stronger than their media literacy ig
