I am shaking with fucking rage listening to this state of the union i think maybe two other faces have made me instantly get this angry.

I am not your "fellow American." I refuse to be American if this is what it means to be American. I am human before I am an American.

I refuse to die before I see a free Palestine. I will see a free Palestine in my lifetime. I refuse to die before I can see a free world. I will see everyone free in my lifetime because I refuse to die without seeing it. It's probably impossible but I don't care because I have to see it. I'm sick of seeing anything else.

The hyper-veneration and almost fetishization of the USA's troops have honestly given rise for some of the worst types of people who want power without effort, I think.

It's why you see some entitled asshole troop who think they can do whatever to civilians because we "owe" them for them "putting their lives on the line" or the type of person who thinks they personally will stick it to a random Afghan civilian for what "their people" did on 9/11 (a racist institution fostering racism? Colour me shocked (sarcasm)).

As a US citizen, I'm personally really concerned with this attitude we have toward troops. As somebody who hates the institution of the military, I also hate that it fosters a genuinely toxic mindset - it's much like the mindset that is instilled in cops; however, when you are overseas, the people you harm are not typically US civilians, so people can sweep under the rug the injustice of terrorizing civilians who aren't "like us."

this might sound very specific—and it is—but do you know how much i yearn for easy, quick, normal, simple, no slow-mo, just everyday regular SMOOCHING in romance kdramas?

you'd think it'd be as common a thing to witness as dramatic make-out sessions under the rain, or love confessions during the first snowfall of the year, BUT honest to god these quick kisses are the rarest of pokémons. and i am always so stupidly thrilled when we have a newly established couple just act like... a newly established couple????

please let me see them giggle and be disgusting and childish like, this is what i signed up for?? they're supposed to be freshly in love and high on the fact they're being loved back!!! they're supposed to be silly with it!

anyway, all this to say, thank you the story of park's marriage contract for giving me exactly, and i mean eXACTLY, what i want out of two fictional people in love. candid moments.

Following up from my post on the possible development of Ruby’s semblance, I recently noticed a rather interesting parallel between Ruby and Neo. Namely, has anyone else noticed that Ruby’s and Neo’s semblances share a very notable visual element?

Ie; both Ruby and Neo activate their semblances by enveloping themselves in a cloud of semi-tangible aura-particulates. In Ruby’s case, her rose petals. In Neo’s case, her light fractals. Both are even a shade of red.

Furthermore, if/when Ruby ever does start using her semblance for transformation/shapeshifting, I think it’s easy to imagine she would pull it off visually to how Neo shifts into her illusions, ie; being briefing enveloped in rose petals which leave behind her new form just as what Neo does.

And on top of that, I think it’s likewise easy to imagine Ruby as some point using her semblance to replicate Neo’s ‘actually a Neo-bot’ move, ie; when she takes a nasty hit in a fight only to shatter and reveal that was her hardlight doppelganger the whole time. Only in Ruby’s case, she takes a nasty hit only to burst into rose petals and reform unharmed.

Now, what are these parallels going to actually wind up meaning in practice?

Not sure yet. But I think it’s already pretty clear there will be some interesting interplay between Ruby and Neo this volume. And I have to imagine these similarities in their semblances may play into it.

On a different note I really really love Neo and her story okay!!! The way she was so dedicated to Torchwick because he was all she had, to the point where after his death all she did was seek revenge!!! She didn’t even blame ruby at first she blamed cinder but cinders the one who convinced her it was ruby!!! The way she literally does not care about the relics or anything ONLY revenge, and then!!!! She gets transported to a weird magical realm and SHE DOESNT CARE!! She doesn’t want to escape!! Because here her semblance allows her to SEE HIM AGAIN!!! He can talk he can move he’s THERE!! And that’s all she wanted she’s so happy! Torchwick is the only one of her illusions that she doesn’t change to torture ruby because she doesn’t want him to leave. And THEN!!!! The second ruby kills herself NEO BECOMES AN EMPTY SHELL WITH NO PURPOSE BECAUSE TORCHWICK IS GONE AND NOW SHES DONE GETTING REVENGE AND SHE HAS NOTHING ELSE!!!! NO PURPOSE!!!!!!!!!!! anyways I’m so normal about Neo… Torchwick is my wife too btw okay thank you

Recently experienced a blackout and having to replace the battery in my car. This Monday morning went a little something like this

The stove: 10:37PM

The microwave: 00:01

The car: 2:53AM

My phone: 7:35(snooze)7:45(snooze)7:50(snooze)

Oh, shouldn’t you be? Glad you get to yell at what looks like the person who you claim betrayed you. so go ahead scream at it try to beat up. Yell at it.

Trauma looks like that sometimes. A lot of the time. It was never going to be Ruby sobbing and asking for help it was always going to be her lashing out because she's traumatized to a point she still doesn't think she should ask for help. And based on her outburst it's also that she thinks she shouldn't have to.

That, I think, is what I like about her—not her disregard for the principle of water displacement, but the fact that she has a big heart.
