Sometimes during interviews with survivors of faith-based movements, I question why I have never felt the pull or influence or passion of faith. Occasionally, lyrics and quotes from songs and movies really speak to me. This one, a particularly beautiful song too, always gets me feeling many things. Why I Like It:

This song has a lot of meaning for me. I’ve struggled with what I believe in. Ultimately, I realized I’m a spiritual person and believe in certain things. But, organized religion was something I couldn't get behind. My parents have always taught me to separate faith from religion. I learned it young since we found out the preacher of our church was making a six-figure salary at one point. We stopped going to church a long time ago. Now we go when we visit my grandmother. This song performed live is a religious experience on its own. We all struggle with our faith. What’s important is believing in yourself first.

Just thought I'd recommend a FF on the fanfiction site "Ghosts That We Knew" by IfIBelieveYou. Interesting take on the post-breakup over babies, before the shooting. It's tough on The Colonel and it's unfinished, but well-written.

Feel the Music

My daughter showed me this song, and it fascinates me.

When we are in pain, it’s natural to cry out to Jesus to show Himself. This guy is serious about it. My hope is that He did.

This is the only clear sounding video I could find, but it doesn’t have lyrics in it. The bass is so good, it scares our kitten out of the den as soon as he hears it playing. Enjoy!
