Here's a quick doodle of Lilibet. This is based on a past post I made where I explained I had her mechanical and logic go up cause Lilibet seemed like she'd be in the science career. Especially since she has both logic and family aspirations. Until I looked at her aspiration goals I realized this was not what she wanted. Girl wants to be a musician, even though she was interested in the workbench and chess table till now. Baby girl doesn't want to be smart anymore. But like I said in the past I ain't mad, you do you girl. I'm making her a punk, because it's pretty obvious why by who one of her parents is. Also every time I age her up, she's always wearing black and gray clothing before I change anything. Like my game decided she was emo the day she was born

Anyone else think short form social media based on algorithms designed to promote topics that create more engagement instead of more joy, the idea of fast fashion but conveyed through social media, and the fact you can monetize suffering and outrage better than ever has largely resulted in the death spiral of media literacy and the mass emergence of bad faith readings?

#I may be venting a lil but god it blows my mind #fyp is a blessing and a curse because i don't think ppl were ever meant to be subjected to this many ppl at once #god i took a bird site hiatus for weeks and now BARELY check it and it already feels like a hit #oughhhhh #even fandom spaces have hugely incorporated marketing and networking into them bc of cmms and sponsorship and building portfolio #which would be fine tbh if it weren't for the way socmed is designed #now it's like you can't support too many ppl or else you're shadow banned or you have to make yourself palatable and marketable #and websites with threads in which people will only read the first post before qrting because ratios are seen as five minutes of fame #features that permit beating an algorithm are locked behind a paywall that promises you money if you go viral #and what goes viral is usually incendiary content meant for those ratios or trends. whether for or against OP #even in hobbyist spaces the climate has changed so much due to the monetization and marketing and just. ugh #not to mention side accounts dedicated to gossip in this new priv account culture like...idk #if you have to make another account so you can make fun of a friend on main with selected priv friends it just doesn't sit well with me #and not every priv account does this but enough do and it makes me tired #unsolicited hate comments are still as bad as they used to be on ff dot net except now people openly are proud of it more #why do most socmed feel like passive aggressive sticky notes on high school lockers #there is so much more I could say about everything that has left me weary about the internet but I don't know the time or place #and I don't want anyone to think this is about them because it's a general statement. though if you are doing the more inflammatory things.#maybe rethink that. it's not good for anyone else and it's not good for you either #I keep coming back online to check on ppl and see art and I *know* it's draining for my health every time #but I feel a lot better now that i use socmed less overall. and that I try to focus on what makes me happy #it just sucks seeing so many people i care about endure absolutely wild struggles bc people online do not care.#I like rambling in my tags because this is the only place I ramble except my personal journal and to my wife

also I'd like to apologize if you've made a request intending for me to write a fic, and I only do headcanons or a reaction or something shorter

especially with this last batch where there was a HUGE amount of requests, headcanons and reactions are quicker for me to write so it allows me to fill up the queue and get things done a bit faster (particularly when I'm starting to feel a bit of fatigue with this series because my brain tries to pull me off into another series, headcanons and reactions help me snap back into the Kuro mood so I can keep going here XD)

once I open the askbox back up (hopefully in about a month), if you want a fic to expand on some reactions or headcanons I've done, please don't hesitate to send that request in!!

update in the computer saga

bad news: my computer has decided to completely die, taking with it my files + access to using my usual software. unclear if it’s possible to get back those files at any point

good(?) news: I have my brother’s old laptop (which admittedly probably could not run clip studio paint well even if I had the access to use it on here) and I tested a little to see how it handles rebelle 5, which went better than expected, so I think I can try to download some lighter art programs for editing too and try to do some of my usual things despite all of the horrors. obvious disclaimer that without my assets + brushes and stuff even if I can make it work and get some edits done they won’t look exactly the same as usual

#at the very least I'll probably post some art on my other account #I think less people care about that since it's not really requests it's just whatever nonsense i post.#but if you're a miyahead it could be good news to you

It isn't even just art anymore. Writing and normal posts hardly get any reblogs now, too. It causes the fandom to feel less vibrant and cozy, and more sluggish and unfriendly. It's tragic because I find more and more accounts that haven't reblogged any posts whatsoever, purely liking things. Especially in the lcf fandom.

Liking does nothing to spread a post. Absolutely nothing. So when the really active accounts only like things, it doesn't make the fandom appear active. Not at all. If you don't share what you like so that other people can see- then why are you in the fandom? Isn't fandom supposed to be a space where you share ideas and art and express love over a piece of work?

Reblogging is imperative to this. Nothing goes anywhere on Tumblr without reblogging. This is a fact. It doesn't matter if you don't have any followers to see what you reblog, because the only reason you would get followers is for your reblogs. Even accounts that mostly post without reblogging still reblog sometimes. Interacting with people in a fandom, following people, reblogging and sharing the things you like? That gets you followers. Because behind a follower is a person that wants to see the things you're interested in. A follower is a potential mutual.

Don't be scared to reblog. Don't be scared to add words to the post or tags. That's how you make friends and grow outside of yourself. Purely liking things is just. A shout in a void. No one is listening.

Please reblog. If you think it's scary or useless, try it anyway. Because it hurts no one, I promise. No one thinks you look stupid for reblogging. No one cares that one week you reblogged lcf and the next you reblogged abt Interest #107 instead. They want to see it. Followers want to see that. They follow to see that.

I truly don't know what to say to make all these accounts that don't reblog anything begin to reblog. Is it scary? Is it too much work? Do you not know where to start? I can tell you how to start. Message me, send me an ask, let me help you.
