Forces Of Nature
So, I'm going back to my Frozen What-If stuff, and re-do it so it can be its own thing. Honestly, the change is mostly no Disney stuff, but it doesn't affect my story.
Itri, Iwa, Leon & Halim's stories still happen in that order. The source of their power are the sources of Nature itself: Nyambe(Fire), Tudi Gong(Earth), Jupiter(Lightning), Yel Ata(Wind), Cailleach(Snow) & Cliodna(Water). All created by The Light. And the 6 have Vital Reification now.
Pt.5 is now Polar Torrent, following two Irish sisters Faidh & Kear(their origins take place at the same time as Itri's). Royalty that were once separated shortly after birth, thanks to a threat named Icauna. Fiadh's the only one left in line, raised by her parent's most trusted soldier, and her power later started to emerge & when she learns what happened to her family. She uses that power to protect the Kingdom of Andrasta, which Icauna haunts & surrounding lands feared. Keara was taken in by a couple of Púca that live in small village next to the kingdom that everyone else thought that no human can cross. 18 years go by, Fiadh is a fierce and almost emtionless leader, Keara's hones her power, and Icauna destroys the Púca village.
Keara goes to the kingdom & meets her sister, whose power was starting to affect the kingdom because of her anger. The two briefly fight(after Keara called Fiadh a stócach soith), because Fiadh doesn't believe that her sister is alive. Keara shows her birth mark on her palm, which Fiadh also has. A passage way appears & the two find a shrine under the kingdom, which reacts to them. Icauna senses both of them, angry that theyre alive. The sisters form a barrier around the entire kingdom, but it wont hold for long. They entered the shrine, gained Vital Reification & their combined might are what finally defeats Icauna. Her last words were "What this kingdom endured, the entire world will suffer far greater". The two return to the shrine & see that there's 4 other symbols that they dont recognize.
Three years later, after Halim's events & learning of the Dark returning & that there are two others, the 4 sensed something familiar. They learn of the shrine in Andrasta & Itri insists on going alone, the others just agree to keep their distance. They get there, Itri enters the shrine & is in awe.
Fiadh & Keara fight him, not knowing who he is. Itri dodges all of their attacks, gets Keara out of the way, he & Fiadh fight, and hey see theyre evenly matched until Itri uses his blue flames to stop the fight. He explains who he is, the others arrive & the shrine reacts.
The sources all appear & explain that they all have full potential that isnt realized. They also learn the origins of The Dark:
Before life, there were two beings, Light & Dark. Light later created the 6 sources of nature: Fire, Water, Air, Lightnings & Earth, co-existing with all life. The Dark was jealous, it was the one that didn't co-exist with all life, due to never being a positive aspect of life, only the opposite(pain, fear, guilt, etc). So it vowed to wipe out life, while only darkness remained. The Light sealed the Dark, at the cost of dying. The six sources all kept the elements in check.
So only the 6 remnants of Light, can defeat the Dark, permanently. Which wasnt the case during the war where just Fire, Earth & Lightning were present.
They spend the next day training, mainly to help Keara because out of the 6, she's not as experienced. Itri insisted to spar & Keara tried to get back at him for the earlier fight. At night, the 6 bonded. Mainly Itri & Fiadh, the two knew the feeling of rage after losing family, Fiadh knew that Itri was trying carry this burden alone because he felt responsible for The Dark's return. She also knew what it was like trying to fight alone.
The Dark emerged the next day. Aimed to destroy Perchtia first & attempted to distract them but the team split up. With Itri, Halim & Fiadha going to the first source of darkness. Leon, Iwa & Keara went to Perchtia. Itri had a feeling the Dark would try to get to their heads by making them face dark versions of themselves that symbolized what they used to be. Itris was right, they won, and quickly regrouped with the others.
The six fought, but later were outmatched. With Itri & Fiadha taking the worst hits because The Dark was jealous of Fire & Snow the most, 2 forces that cause so much death. All seemed lost, but a glimmer of light appeared. It turns out the Light is in all six(Itris saw a bit of white flames back when he defeated Aladheid, before it went blue) & they all become one with their Sources.
To be eventually Concluded in the finale, Pt.6 - Remnants Of Light.

Heyhey! can you do some headcanons/drabble for azula x fem! waterbender! reader? 🥺👉👈 where theyre about the same amount of strength just different elements- like how Azula has lightning reader has icebending/ bloodbending whatever and they have a sort of enemies to lovers act,
Zuko being weirded out by it because reader joined their side but then saw Azula like “your sisters hot” “what the hell.” “my bad-“ but their still on different sides of the war
Into Each Other but on Different Sides HCs (Azula)
𝗔/𝗡: 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗺! 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗴𝗼!
𝙒𝙖𝙣𝙩 𝙩𝙤 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚? ⇒ 𝙈𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙡𝙞𝙨𝙩
𝙟𝙤𝙞𝙣 𝙢𝙮 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙘𝙤𝙧𝙙 𝙨𝙚𝙧𝙫𝙚𝙧?
𝙗𝙪𝙮 𝙢𝙚 𝙖 𝙘𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚?
You guys were like “enemies,” sure but…….
You both knew you were TOTALLY into each other HAHAHAHAH
It was a huge, will we/will we not
(and y’all totally would if there wasn’t a war going on…HAHAH)
Also because you were so strong, you were always tasked with keeping Azula busy since you could keep up with her
And all of your fights with her almost looked like the two of you were dancing because you meshed so well with each other
(with a healthy mix of insults and flirts in between LOL)
Naturally, when Zuko joined up with the group, you were all over him asking him about Azula and what she liked
And as much as Zuko hated the thought of getting his sister a girlfriend, he did think that you’d at least be good for her
But he still hates the idea of it and talking about it LMAO

I remember in the atla dvd commentary, on the episode of the invasion they had one of the sound engineers on (don't remember the name) and they revealed that for icebending they actually crinkled lettuce to mimick the sounds, and ever since then on each rewatch i pay super close attention to all the sound effects trying to figure out what they could have possibly used to make those sounds and i never do 🥲
#i might be misremembering things as i haven't actually watched this dvd commentary in like 10 years#but they used lettuce for something and i'm pretty sure it was ice#that same episode they discussed kataang vs zutara at length bc even in 2008 the fandom was divided apparently lol#avatar the last airbender#atla#avatar

I can't be the only one...
who felt like it was implied by the show that lightning bending was somehow a more "evil", "impure" or "cruel" form of bending in line with what bloodbending was made out to be, based on who we know was skilled enough to do it (Azula, Ozai, likely "past" Iroh). Am I?
I feel like that definitely could have been a bias that they chose to lean into, based on what we learned up to and past the point of lightning bending's introduction as well as bloodbending's.
Hama being an unforgiven-antagonist to the Gaang means that bloodbending was going to be framed as an especially awful form of combat from the start. (A form that seems to get implicitly compared in-show to a physical or spiritual violation.) Likewise, Iroh describes lightning bending as "cold fire".
Lightning? Cold? The surface of the sun would beg to differ.
The previously mentioned three from the Fire Royal Family are also the only ones we see and know of doing the skill. Two of them are show antagonists (Azula, Ozai). The other technically starts as an antagonist but eventually becomes someone that we're now supposed to believe views his past self as though they would have been a wrongful enemy of the Gaang and of world peace itself (Iroh). Meanwhile our poor, good-hearted, awkward turtleduck (*snickers*) Zuko, just can't seem to learn how to do it. Even when the time period of LOK comes, he's implied to have still not learned how.
Also, if we are to assume that no forms of firebending were looked down upon in Fire Nation culture, especially post-dragon extinction, then it makes even more sense that a form of firebending that's "harsher" wouldn't be disapproved of and would even be preferred over other forms for that very reason.
Now if true, that leaves the question of "what makes it worse than other forms of firebending?". I'd argue nothing, really. It seems, at worst, to only be faster and more deadly than other forms of fire bending. Like icebending compared to regular waterbending. A cherry on top for Azula seems to be that she looks fantastic and elegant when she aims her fingers at someone/something, and for Ozai, that he can prepare his shots extremely fast.
Of course, it could also have been the other way around and it was the characters that learned the ability who were having something implied about them, not necessarily the ability itself. Maybe even both.

JWCC ATLA AU TIMEEE!!
(Sorry if something doesn't make sense, I'm writing this late at night lmao)
All of the campers went to the island to learn with the element masters. But they didn't know that the spirits that lived on this island weren't so happy about anybody disturbing their peace, and soon this camp became a nightmare
Ben is a firebender, but he rarely use this power. He was scared of it, and he tought of it rather as a curse than a miracle. He went to the island only because his mother send him there. She hoped that he might become more eager to use his skill and not be afraid anymore. She saw potential in him, but Ben didn't saw it.
Yaz is earthbender - she came to the island to become one of the best earthbenders. She always trained way more than anybody she know. She was really hardworking and she didn't really wanted to make friends here. It would only distract her. If she weren't pushing herself to her limits, then she would feel that the training wasn't done right.
Sammy is an airbender - she wanted to came here, but also she had to. Her family told her that she had to collect information about certain spirits, but they didn't even tell her for what. But since she loved her family, she did what they wanted without hesitation. She is optimistic, friendly, and there are a lit of times when she treats her trainings as if this was some kund of game - which often annoyed Yaz
Brooklynn is a waterbender, but she didn't came here to master just this. She wanted to know a bit from every subbending - Icebending, healing, bloodbending and even spiritbending. She wasn't even sure if the last two were an actuall thing or if it was just a concept, but if it was real, she wanted to know how to do it. She was really fascinated about it and hardworking, but not as much as Yaz. She knew when she should relax.
Kenji is a firebender - he thinks he knows everything, and he doesn't need a master to teach him anything. He came here just for fun. He is overconfident and sometimes unserious. Brooklynn once told him that there is no way he knows everything, and since then they were often bickering, one trying to prove other wrong.
And Darius is a nonbender. At frist the rest was just giving him wierd glances knowing that he came here without any power, but he was determinated to learn something anyway. He knew he could learn a lot of fighting styles, either with weapons or not, chi-blocking, and even study spirits. Besides that, he still hoped that somehow it would turn out that he actually can bend something. He tried different bending technicques many times, but none of them ever worked. He never knew his father - he died when Darius was still very young - all he knew he wasn't from earth kingdom as him. So he hoped that maybe he had some skills after his father. Even if not, he was going to prove himslef some other way.
Some other things:
- Waterbending master refused to teach Brooklynn bloodbending. They said that it was too dangerous to teach a child. The next thing she did was stealing a scroll about bloodbending from them and trying to learn it by herself. She also stole spiritbending scroll, but she was too afraid to try it alone, at least yet.
- Ben sometimes goes out at night alone to try actually doing something. At least then he knowd that nobody is near him se he won't hurt anybody. But he is still to scared to do it - he can make a weak flame for only a moment. When he sees it, he reminds himself why he is so afraid (when he was a young kid, he wasn't afraid. He was actually doing pretty good, but he was reckless and overconfident. He accidentally hurt his mom. Even though now everything is okay, since then he barely uses his power)
- Darius sometimes watches others training from the side and tries to imitate their moves. Once he woke up at night and noticed Ben going out to train. He followed him, started training too, and Ben caught him. But instead of being somehow negative to him, he just sat next to him and they talked for a longer while. Darius explained that it's really hard not to feel like no one when everybody had amazing skills expect you. And Ben explained, that being a bender doesn't automatically make you talented, and that sometimes it's more like s curse. Since then they were friends.
- Since Brooklynn and Kenji both really wanted to prove the other wrong about Kenji knowing everything about firebending they often trained together, fighting with eachother. Once they both were si determinated that masters had to step in and stop them, so nobody would get hurt.
- since sammy is airbender she has the best contact with spirits. Sometimes she wakes up un the middle of the night, and hesr their voices. She doesn't think it's a good sign, but tries to ignore it everytime.
- instead of Ben falling off a monorail, we have Ben being kidnapped into the spirit world just like Sokka was
- Bumpy is a dragon here

I have a silly crossover idea
First, you know Avatar? The anime, not the movies with the blue people. If you don't, go look it up, I'm not explaining it. If you do, great.
Second, you know Ninjago?
So that I have an excuse to base this AU in the same universe as ATLA and ATLOK, but still have it be quite unique, I've decided that this new story takes place several million years later, in which time different ages have risen and fallen, technologies have been discovered and forgotten, and races (sentient species) have been born and have died.
Four individuals are brought together by the spirit of the previous Avatar. Two Firebenders (one of which primarily uses Lightningbending), an Earthbender, and a Waterbender (who primarily uses Icebending). This spirit, known as Wu, needs their help finding the new Avatar, because something spoopy is happening that is keeping his aura hidden or whatever. In reality, this is because his father is this really evil guy, idk.
Also, it's gonna have Bruise and Oppo :3

Arya Stark as a waterbender: Asoiaf characters as atla benders 1/4
Since the new ATLA adaptation arrived, I've been thinking about doing something like this, and I think that Arya would be such an incredible waterbender. The themes of adaptability and change fit very nicely with her character
She would basically learn every possible type of waterbending. She would learn icebending in the north, more traditional waterbending in the riverlands (perhaps plantbending too), and in Braavos, she would learn fogbending, bloodbending, and healing
#arya stark#asoiaf#valyrianscrolls#my art#fanart#house stark#I don't really like the face#but I did like coloring the water and sigil on the background#the icy wolf of the Stark tribe#in my atla au both the north and riverlands are waterbenders#though the north specializes in ice#except for the Boltons obviously

Summary: "Where did you learn this?" Shinpachi finally asks, one evening. "Are you a waterbender?" "Nah," Gin-san responds, his voice muffled, halfway past comatose and lying face-down in the grass. The sound of muted conversations coast around them. "My wisdom's just overflowing. I should get paid for tutoring you—oi, make sure to tell your sister. My tutoring services aren't cheap, but I guess I could give you a bit of an employee discount. I take bribes too. Hey, hey, icebenders can make ice cream, can't they? What about a parfait? Frozen yogurt? Pattsuan—" The air nomads were killed in the Kansei Purge. Kabuki-cho is a port town on the Southeast coast of the Earth Kingdom. Gintoki does not bend. Nothing changes all that much. octonauts ATLA au 🤲
Barnacles is an EXTREMELY powerful waterbender from the North Pole, with a strong love for icebending—he defaults to it most of the time. He can use all subforms of waterbending, but they're a bit harder.
Kwazii's the Avatar, but he's still a pirate AND he's a natural firebender, so he still has that "scary and dangerous" reputation. He's afraid of using his firebending, because he hates it. Barnacles is teaching him waterbending, and he's pretty good at it. So far he sucks at earthbending, and his airbending is okay, but if he gets worked up it can accidentally come out as fire... which, yeah.
Peso is an airbender, and the first one in his family. He's not very skilled at bending, and he can't fly very well, and sometimes wishes he was a waterbender, like Barnacles. That way he'd be "stronger", and could utilize its healing abilities. He has an epiphany later on in the middle of S3 that makes him realize how powerful he really is, and he learns to fly :)
Tweak is an earthbender, which she inherited from her dad (maybe*). Like Barnacles, she has a love and preference for a specific subtype—in her case it's metalbending. She's very good at it. It's how she builds GUPs so fast.
Shellington is a waterbender. He doesn't use it very much, mainly because he's Not Great at controlling it—so you'll either end up getting lightly spit on or completely drenched in a tsunami by accident.
Dashi is a non-bender (with water tribe ancestry), which puts her at a disadvantage during some missions. However! She has all of her skills from the Canon Universe, plus the extra adaptiveness seen in non-benders in ATLA (Sokka, Suki, etc).
Inkling is also a non-bender, but he has studied the elements and different bending techniques his whole life. He's Kwazii's Monk Gyatso but with less dying.
Octoagents! 👇
Calico Jack is Kwazii's Uncle Iroh. I needn't explain further. His main goal is to teach Kwazii to be less afraid of his firebending.
Natquik is a waterbender, who taught Barnacles everything he knows. He got his penchant for icebending from him. He pretty much invented it. He survived Antarctica by ✨ Becoming One With The Ice™ ✨. He doesn't just study icequakes, he can make them. He can probably spiritbend.
*I'm TORN between making Marsh be an earthbender or a waterbender. If he's an earthbender, then he can't metalbend like Tweak can, but he's still very strong. Like, scarily strong 👀. IF HE'S A WATERBENDER, then he's a swampbender, full stop.
Tracker is an airbender, mainly because of how he's clearly paralleling Peso's arc in AnB. He was the only airbender in his Polar Scouts troop, and he got picked on for it a bit—but Barnacles thought it was cool as heck, and that's how they became friends.
Do I need to explain Paani being a waterbender? No I do not. He's probably VERY powerful, but very chillax about it. He successfully freaks out everyone who witnesses him bend every time. He can part the seas like freaking Moses.
Pearl is a waterbender like Shellington; she's not super strong, but she has a LOT more control over it than he does. Peri will be a waterbender as well, but he hasn't unlocked it yet. He's trying very hard because he wants to be like his mum and uncle SO badly.
Min could easily be a bender of any kind and it would make sense, but I kinda wanna say she's a non-bender. Just cuz ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Earthbender Ryla. That's all. It makes it a lot easier to get out of caves when she's stuck. She's very casual about it. So casual, that most people either forget or don't even realize she's a bender until it comes up. Then they're like "oh yeah." as she literally moves mountains.
Airbender Pinto, who has no clue how to control it. Whenever he gets frustrated with himself, he accidentally creates small tornadoes. He can also fly! He likes to brag about it. a lot. mainly to Peso.
Waterbender Koshi, who hasn't discovered that about herself yet. She's in for a fun time when she figures it out. Remember how happy she was when she got her Octowatch? Yeah :) 10x that. I also imagine their family is full of late bloomers, but because of Dashi she has pretty low expectations for herself right now.
#can you guess what im rewatching ? ✨ xD#👀👀 what if 👉👈 someone drew this 😳 haha jk........... unless 😳#octonauts#marsh being an earthbender is mainly because this entire post was inspired by watching the feuding tribes episode of atla#and the tour guide reminding me of marsh.#anyway rip to the dashi fans but sokka and uncle bumi are my favs so i promise my decision for her was made with love 🫶🤣#avatar kwazii avatar kwazii Avatar Kwazii AVATAR KWAZII#i am right#ty for your time#octonauts au#self indulgent post time#ps worldbuilding stuff:#most birds descend from the air temples‚ but penguins are weird so they're usually waterbenders if they're benders at all–#which is why peso is an airbender‚ plus the first one in his family to bend at all#pinto came right after him‚ but since peso would've been off being an octonaut he didn't have anyone around to mentor him#also pirates have mixed ancestry from every nation. but the majority of pirates Don't Like the avatar so uh yeah rip kwazii iykwim–#he might be the first avatar to be a pirate in history just bc i think that'd be neat for the ✨ story ✨#also bianca and hugo would both be waterbenders too btw#one of the cubs is a non-bender but idk who. maybe orson.#ALSO the airbenders were never wiped out in this au#the War™ never really happened but firebenders are still Scary bc of the whole Fire Is Destruction thing#idrk what the Story of this au is except for like— kwazii is the avatar. he was abandoned by his family. he joins the octonauts to help--#--bring peace to the world + nature etc. so basically the canon plot of the og show but with magic ✨ /hj#long post#surprised i haven't hit the tag limit yet#ok byebye end post

Let's Talk About ATLA Element Bending!
I guess my past self just hated myself.
Cause now I'm doing this!
For reference, this is literally just a list of all the types of bending.
I thought that would make a fun post.
Idk.
(Also, I'm gonna go over the basic styles and ways of movement cause why tf not?)
Waterbending
Bloodbending
Cloudbending
Icebending
Mudbending
Plantbending
Snowbending
Spiritbending
Steambending
Waterbending revolves around fluidity and change of pace, being the exact opposite of firebending. However, it is not completely similar to airbending in that it has fixed movements and does not allow as much freedom.
Waterbenders are able to take an opponent's strength and use it against them, while also being able to give support to those around them both offensively, defensively, and in health support. (I didn't know what else to call it.)
Earthbending
Crystalbending
Lavabending
Metalbending
Mudbending
Sandbending
Earthbending requires firm stances and quick, rough movements, opposite to airbending. It is different from firebending as firebending requires smoother, more fluid motions.
Earthbenders are very offensive fighters, and cannot easily use an opponent's strength against them. They can provide amazing offensive support, and can be very helpful in defense.
Firebending
Chibending (yes, this is different to spiritbending)
Combustionbending
Heatbending
Lightningbending
Firebending has very firm stances, and requires a good root, unlike water and airbending. However, firebending can be quite fluid at times, and does not require as much rigidness as earthbending.
Firebending is pretty much solely offensive, with little to no defensive ability. Yes, they can provide defensive support, but it will not be as useful as, say, earthbending or airbending.
Airbending
Cloudbending
Soundbending
Airbending is the most fluid and free form of bending. Yes, there can be firm stances, but most of airbending is quick movements and does not require a root, like firebending or earthbending.
Airbenders are usually defensive, but can be exceptionally good at offense if required. Airbending, while not having the largest amount of sub-types, is one of the most versatile bending forms.
(Yeah, not much really. I did what I could.
If you want a better breakdown of the sub-types I listed, go here.)
(Also, I know energybending is a thing, but I didn't want to go over that, so.... meh)

Legend of Izuku AU:
Some ideas for things that might happen in the later half of this story:
1.) Uraraka learns to use air friction to rapidly heat areas.
2.) Tenya, having accepted that he should not merely try to imitate his brother and now striving to be true to himself, adapts his waterbending to the more structured style of Earth and develops a unique style of icebending in combat.
3.) Hisashi tries to have Enji killed, only for Shoto to save him, demonstrating just how far he has come as a person since the beginning of his journey.
Ooooooooooohhhhhhh I love all these ideas!!!! Definitely gonna add these ideas to the possible plot!

NaNoWriMo 2023
Day 22: Words written: 2051 (48641 total) Goal: 1667 (36674 total)
👀 I'm probably going to win my 4th NaNo in a row as of tomorrow, friends! But that doesn't mean that I'm going to stop writing an excessive number of words yet. Ice & Smoke is nowhere near done, so 50k is just not enough!
Sneak peek below the cut:
“Do you want to know what I was planning to work on if she’d let you end your lesson at a reasonable time?”
“Not really.”
Well, that was too bad. “Icebending. You already know how to bend water, and you’ve worked with ice before. I thought that if you could focus on keeping the ice from melting while going through some of your forms, it might help you get a feel for how earthbending works. The two things really aren’t that different.”
Though Aang seemed determined to stay grumpy, the idea seemed to intrigue him to the point that his scowl wavered, then evaporated. “Do you really think that would work?”
A shrug. “I think almost anything is worth a try at this point. Maybe tomorrow morning—”
