Got to ice climb for the first time this weekend at All In Ice Festival and it was way too fun! Not only was the experience mega thrilling but getting to meet so many wonderful people added to the experience. It was awesome to be in a space filled with BIPOC and queer folks, since it’s such a white male dominated sport. So stoked to go again next year

Macworld January 1999

Amazing Computing will return, but for the moment Macworld has to lead off the year. This issue focused on the latest PowerBooks, with Andrew Gore’s editorial enthusing about using one to “throw off the shackles of cubicle life” but an article providing assorted cautions about stretching your battery life while travelling (including where to find scarce outlets in airport terminals). The “games section” now at the back of Macworld included a column pointing out that where Intel emulation was unpromising when trying to play the latest PC games on a PowerPC-powered Mac, add-on coprocessor cards weren’t much help either. It wound up insisting that didn’t really matter because “all indications are that the Mac gaming market is set to explode,” though.

In King's Landing, Tywin Lannister and Lady Olenna meet to discuss his children's proposed marriages. She puts up a good fight but in the end is forced to admit defeat. Tyrion and Cersei bemoan their fate. Tyrion is forced to tell Sansa what his father has decided. Baelish meanwhile eliminates a spy in his midsts. Arya takes an immediate dislike to Melisandre when she arrives at their camp. That dislike grows when she learns Melisandre is taking someone away with her. Jaime negotiates his release and return to King's Landing. Robb, his army depleted, realizes he has no choice but to repair relations with the Freys. However, since Robb didn't marry one of the Frey daughters as promised, they demand Edmure Tully marry one of them instead. Jon, Ygritte and many others arrive at the Wall and begin the 700 ft. climb...

*The introduction theme and map depiction animation of each episode of Game of Thrones depicts every "city/region" that takes place in said episode. However, for the first time in the series, though Yunkai is graphically represented in the opening credits, there is a complete absence of any storyline involving Daenerys (et al) in Yunkai's setting.

Y‘alls i don’t wanna be that guy but i just had the best bouldering session i‘ve had in weeks. I crushed so many new routes onsite and I FLASHED a route that is my current max level (not counting the one route above my level I once got lucky on). Like I cannot describe how many cool hard climbs i aced today!!!

Plus thanks to marcin i made my first foray into ice climbing / dry tooling and I surprised both him and myself with my grip strength and tenacity. Feeling powerful and soooo proud of myself. Ice climbing here we go!!!
