Got to ice climb for the first time this weekend at All In Ice Festival and it was way too fun! Not only was the experience mega thrilling but getting to meet so many wonderful people added to the experience. It was awesome to be in a space filled with BIPOC and queer folks, since it’s such a white male dominated sport. So stoked to go again next year

a hug for all the disabled people grieving dreams & hobbies & loves that they’ve lost due to their disability. for all the disabled people who imagined life so differently and who lost the chance for things to ever turn out the way they’d hoped.

we’ll find new dreams & new loves & new things to bring us joy even through the difficulty of living as a disabled person. but that doesn’t really make it easier deal with losing the rest. i hope that life will gentle to all of you & that you will find something you love that your disability won’t take from you. 🫂❤️‍🩹

Not to arctic research au post on main but mance as a wildlife photographer for polar bears and qhorin as the guy who follows him with a gun so he doesnt get eaten is so funny to me. them doing these 6 months stints in the arctic with 0 women and qhorin has himself convinced that THIS TIME mance is going to realize hes gay and they can make out and then mance gets his helicopter shipment of titty mags in and beats off every morning before breakfast to playboy models and qhorin punches holes in their canvas yurt

Do Manticores even have languages? With them being so hyper solitary have they dispensed with the need for them all together or would there be instances they do talk? (Finding a mate or something else requiring words) outside of having to learn a language because they got captured by a ‘monster tamer’

not really. they don't have a need for verbal communication at all and also no one to teach them in the vast majority of cases. they can learn to understand spoken languages later in life but would likely remain entirely nonverbal due to lacking the right kinda mouth parts. in a kind of inverse example to sphinxes they would take far, far longer to master understanding a spoken language than the equivalent human, even when very young.

when communicating with other manticores it's fairly streamlined because there's only like 3 things they have to say to each other, 1. go away, 2. GO AWAY, and 3. ok fine you'll do
