Yet another hilarious interaction between Kieran and Sourdough made by Farfetch'd. Yes.... I'm going to need you to make it so that Kieran uses a fire extinguisher on ol' Sourdough. And, consider this, afterwards Juliana walks in and sees that the whole room is covered in foam.
(Context: @kekstala's fanart)
Okay but no you don't understand the macho match/Applin dynamic fanarts always give me so much life and inspiration LOOOOOL I am always open to suggestions about any of them (in any dynamic between Kieran, Juliana, & Sweet & Sour Applin). And as usual, Kekstala kills it xD

While I'm glad my classes are giving me more fun ideas for fucked up science in a world created by a man who doesn't know fuck all about science. Can my classes please give me the time to write said ideas please begging on my hands and knees I want to write Shen Yuan yelling at Airplane about his bad science.
Like please I just want
Sy: why the fuck did the nectar turn pink
Airplane: oh the dirt's acidic.
Sy: what
Airplane: yeah, that flower is used as an indicator of poisons, it turns pink when in the presence of acids... Word of warning, most poisons in this world are acidic.
Sy: WHY THE FUCK WOULD YOU NEED ACIDIC POISONS DO YOU NOT KNOW WHAT POISON IS
Airplane: BRO BRO I NEEDED A WAY TO INDICATE THERE WAS POISON! THE NECTAR HAS PHENOLPHTHALEIN
Sy: ... YOU HACK THAT'S NOT EVEN HOW PHENOLPHTHALEIN WORKS?!
Significantly later
Sy: why does my soup smell like mac n cheese cooking
Airplane: you remember what I said about poisons being mostly acidic?
Sy: .......... I'm going to go kill a coward, and then you're next

Thinking about the Joker vs Giorno Death Battle.
They said that Giorno could undo most things about Joker, but couldn't stop a reality-bending angel gun because Joker had the good ol' power of friendship to recharge.
Giorno could literally just revert his friend levels back to zero??

Cape Fear (1991)
"Let's get something straight here. I spent fourteen years in an eight by nine cell, surrounded by people who were less than human. My mission in that time was to become more than human. You see? Granddaddy used to handle snakes in church, Granny drank strychnine. I guess you could say I had a leg up, genetically speaking."
#cape fear#1991#american cinema#martin scorsese#wesley strick#john d. macdonald#robert de niro#nick nolte#jessica lange#juliette lewis#joe don baker#robert mitchum#gregory peck#martin balsam#illeana douglas#fred thompson#zully montero#james r. webb#elmer bernstein#freddie francis#Scorsese fully channelling de Palma for this queasy Southern gothic remake of a beloved bit of Americana kino. this was actually meant to#be a Spielberg project (yeesh can you imagine?) but Marty traded him Schindler's List which worked out better for everyone. initial#reaction to seeing Marty's right hand arm de Niro as the antagonist was‚ admittedly‚ to snigger but give the man his dues he fully embodies#this grotesque‚ repellent boogeyman. crucially tho he has the seed of a genuine grievance against Nolte's (also fairly unlikeable) lawyer#lead and i think that's what really propels this script. the film is stacked with great performances‚ with a young J Lewis really#standing out in a layered and thoughtful performance. the cameos by prev Cape Fear stars are perhaps a tiny bit gratuitous (and it's kind#of sad that Peck's final role was little more than a brief meta injoke) but i get why and it doesn't detract too much from the film‚#particularly once it lurches full throttle into a biblical tinged flood and fire apocalypse for the (very well executed) final act#ott stuff and boundary pushing not just in its freakier moments but in its commitment to underscoring tension with moments of near pure#comedy‚ but i had a great time with this. oh and what a score! i mean i think it's just a re arrangement of the og score but still it slaps

will graham entire character is high key funny when you think about it
like he literally just:
stereotypes and placing his opinions, based off of all the bad things he can imagine happen, onto killers and then be like "because of my extraordinary empathy i know you and because of i know you i know i am not you"
and people are just like 'yea this guy is weird and kind of fucked up but hes great at whatever fucked up stuff that happens in his head'
despite will's internal debate is whether or not it feels good to kill someone and if he should keep doing it.
and then hannibal comes in and for an entire season and a half manages to hypnotize will, induce seizures in will, kill and lead will's investigation away or closer to himself, and so much other stuff - im

There are works which are not [genre] but works made that have read a lot of [genre]. YJ is not an anime but it is a cartoon that has watched a lot of anime. MTMTE is not a comedy but it is a space opera that has watched a lot of sitcoms. I’d like to learn the term for a work that is deep in conversation with a genre without belonging to that genre even as a hybrid. Specifically works that address, lampshade, satirize, employ genre signposts without obeying genre conventions.

Confession time
This series is the only time I've ever seen a video featuring Ted Nivision. I have no idea who he is. I have no idea what sort of content he makes. All I know is he plays a cop in this thing

when I watched Metropolis (1927) i misread or misunderstood something and for a brief while I thought 'Freder' was the main characters last name and everyone was just calling him by his last name, which i didnt question because at the point in the film it seemed like everyone who was interacting with him was 'beneath him' somehow and also, since the dialogue cards also called him that i thought theres gonna be something about identity or maybe even dehumanization in a "children are defined by their parents' actions"-kinda way, but then he goes to talk to his dad and hes also calling him Freder which is weird to me of course but again, Im watching with the assumption that this is somehow gonna tie in to some theme about identity so I dont really dwell on the fact this weirdo is calling his son by last name. Then theres a dialogue card that i dont misread thats like 'something something Joh Fredersen' and Im like ohhhhhhh nvm, thats their last name and Freder is... the protagonists first name then? okay sure. But once I realize that I start thinking. okay so, i have a hard time explaning whats going on in my head when I watch movie especially without sounding stupid so bear with me here. You know how in medieval europe most people didnt really have last names the same way we do now, they either just had their occupation or their father's first name + -son at the end? Yeah, so I was thinking about the name Frederson as a corruption of Fredersson (Freder's Son) and how that could potentially play into some identity-related themes, because for some reason within the first few minutes I just got really attached to the idea of this movie having themes like that somehow. And like, i guess I wasnt entirely wrong but idk, i wouldnt really say this movie has anything to say about identity so much as I would say that it has the characters swap places a lot. Anyway, then shit goes conpletely off the rails and i forget about my precious Identity Themes for the remainder of the film
And Im telling you all of this because i watched the film a few days and I watched the musical based on it the same day as the film and just a few hours ago I listened to the 2001 german radiodrama and only now did it truly hit me that Freder's full name is.... Freder Fredersen. thats what his dad called him. Honestly that might be the worst of all his crimes against humanity

Tbh after watching buddy daddies finale i think it wouldve been hilarious if rei's dad turned out to be extremely supportive of kazurei family.
And this is somewhere near episode 9 and Rei is getting pressured to come back and gramps is like "tf is holding him back" so he goes to investigate and finds out why. And just one day we see grandpa suwa coming in to their house and everyones on edge, Rei especially being threatning and growling whenever he looks at Miri. Kazuki is trying to be polite but equally threatning too (also Kyu is there for some reason i guess babysitting?) and gramps is like "so... i have ice cream. I bought all flavours cause idk what kids like?" And everyone is confused.
Like yknow how asian grandads are? You hear from stories that they were absolute beasts meanwhile they treat you like a prince/ss.
And i can imagine the reasoning being like "oh she isnt my blood heir so no point in wasting my time abusing training her" or like he just wants a granddaughter to spoil.
